Ever since the first launch of the German Sput-nik, South Africa only join the only nine countries to ever done that and have promised that they will invest more on these nano-satellites.

agaugust: since your comment confesses that the information contained therein is outdated, I don't have much to say.

The most current ranking of South African military power was measured out to them by Seleka teenage/kid rebels of Central African Republic, thus updating South African Army as the most cowardly and fastest retreating army in Africa as at today November 22nd 2013.

Thanks.

.
About only 200 south Africans with limited fire against over 3000 heavily armed Seleka rebels cannot come to the conclusion that SA military is weak. Well if that is the case it will equally apply to a small steak of islamic sect Boko Haram who empowered and humiliated many of your soldies to an extent of freeing prisoners out of prison. So far Boko Haram is reported of having killed over 300 soldies, police and prison officials as compared to our 15 soldies.

agaugust: it is better not to waste time and money to produce a foolishly expensive and non-versatile Rooivalk helicopter gunship that will sell only 11 units in 20 years which made DENEL go into heavy debt and needed government rescue with cash. what a waste !

Nigeria and Egypt are intelligent and economically gifted enough to buy American Apache and Russian Hind helicopter gunships.

only a foolish man will boast of his d..i..c..k when he knows it is only 2 inches long.

south african Rooivalk helicopter gunship is like a 2 inches long d..i..c..k cheesy

.
The better part of it is a d*i*c*k. We don't believe in huge peni*s that Nigerians always carry in their trousers. As small as they are they satisfy our woman and give them babies.

drag_on: Why are you typing out stuff like you are new? It was what your defence minister declared, now your airforce is in damage limitation mode due to the scandal it caused. They rushed out the jets from storage, scrubbed them clean and parade them in hangars.

Durban - Twelve Gripen fighter jets that were bought as part of the controversial arms deal more than a decade ago are being kept in mothballs.

This was revealed by Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula on Tuesday.

Responding to a parliamentary question, she said the aircraft had been placed in long-term storage, adding that this was “in line with their utilisation and the budget expenditure patterns/flow of the SA Air Force”.

agaugust: south africa does NOT have 20,000 military vehicles and tanks cheesy

go see your own SANDF army official website.

south africa has only about 190 tanks and only about 70 are active, the rest are dead metal junks or in cold freezer storage like your wingless and crippled Gripen jets cheesy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_Army

you are counting weapons and including transport vehicles ? you must really be the toy soldier i like to call you cheesy

nigeria too can count all those our army transport vehicles produces locally and then say we too produce 70% of our weapons locally.

now lets talk abou heavy weapons, real combat weapons.....

how many heavy weapons in south african air force and navy are produced locally in your over-rated country ? cheesy

.
The total inventory of SANDF military vehicles ranging from rattles, samils, mfezi, tanks, kwee, thutlwa, Artvark, casper, mamba, tanks, etc are way above 20 000 and were all produced locally. Chief! I told you that u don't have to let jealousy to cloud your objectivity. It is not about over rated perceptions, it is about facts. South Africa design its own military vehicles, missiles, small arms, artillery, helicopters, weapon electronic systems, etc, which account to over 70% of our military weapon inventory.

Moreover, there is no even a single gripen in long term storage, all those were lies by jurnos who are unethical like you.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 6:26pm On Nov 20, 2013
We should refrain from listening to all the lies told by Agaugust and his links.

THE SANDF SAYS NO GRIPEN JETS ARE IN LONG TERM STORAGE, CONTRARY TO THE THE REPORTS EARLIER THIS YEAR BY UNETHICAL JOUNALIST THAT 12 GRIPENS WERE ON LONG TERM STORAGE DUE TO LACK OF PILOTS AND MONEY TO FLY THEM.

Those were all lies and propaganda and I appeal to everyone to turn a deaf ear to such reports.

agaugust: dont be silly mister man !

99% of south african air force and navy weapons are imported european made, jets/helicopters/warships/submarines/torpedoes/missiles.

so how do you say 70% of south african weapons are made in south africa ? are counting ordinary R-4 rifles one by one ?

okay nigeria too produces NR-1 rifles in hundreds of thousands, so 70% of nigerian weapons are made in nigeria.
http://beegeagle./2012/10/19/made-in-nigeria-nr-1-rifles-and-bullet-proof-vests/

equation balanced cheesy

.
Did u even count how many unit of foreign weapons do we use. It does not even go beyond 100 units even of foreign missiles. All of over 20 000 of our military vehicle and tanks were produced locally. Small arms, Anti- air guns, Artillery, bombs, missiles, Helicopters, drones etc

Over 70% of our weapons are locally produced. Fact!!!

NaijaPikinGidi: What do you know about global business operations? My mind tells me you cannot respond to the fact that it's a wholly owned Nigerian business paying big on the global stage! It beats you once more to accept that there is more untapped wealth in mineral and natural resources in Nigeria that South Africa can ever muster! Get your medication before your hurt yourself!
It doesn't matter, Global or not. What is it that they fear from Nigeria? Indigenous South African companies will never take such a stupid move.

Moreover, about untapped wealth, how did they find out about such thing as untapped wealth? All mineral wealth in any country is discovered and made known to the public and the world so that investors must know about it. There is nothing called untapped wealth in Naija. Oops!! sorry boss.

agaugust: go back and see pages 1 to 12 of this forum and see how south africans claimed they have the most powerful military in africa.

where to you put the mighty military forces of egypt, nigeria, ethiopia ?

i stood up for the truth on this military ranking issue, i hate people deceiving other people and misleading them with false information.

south africa does NOT produce 70% of its weapons, i have repeated a post on that am i am tired. only about 10% of your heavy weapons are home made. you imported, Gripen jet, Hawk jet, Agusta Helicopters, Lynx helicopters, Centurion/Olifant tank, Rooivalk helicopter engine, Type 209 submarines, Valour frigate warships, Puma/Oryx helicopters, Hercules C-130 aircraft, Dakota aircraft, Badger Armoured fighting vehicles, Exocet missiles, Milan missiles, Starstreak missiles.....you want me to continue this list ? it is very long cheesy

nigerians are not refugees in south africa. your people are lazy and our own hardworking people came to take over your jobs and marry your women right in front of your wide open eyes....we have partially taken over your country and you are too blind to see it cheesy

nigeria as big brother fought against apartheid to free south africa from the anglo whites and boer white master's prison yard...say thank you to us cheesy

nigeria gave business opportunities to many south african companies as a favour, we could have given MTN, SASOL, STANBIC BANK and other contracts/deals to chinese, indian and korean companies, we just showed you we are your senior brothers.

can south africa give MTN 50 million customers ? cheesy

now kneel down and say sorry to your senior brother the giant of africa for the rubbish you posted above !

I am employed in the military and I know well that over 70% of our weapon inventory are produced locally. Gripens, hawks, Type 209 subs, etc do not even make over 15% of our weapon inventory. We have only limited number of foreign weapons, for eg, three subs, 26 gripens, etc. Even our military magazine pride itself that we are some of the few forces in Africa to boast over 70% of locally made weapons manufactured by our defence industries. Don't let jealousy to cloud your judgement. I seldom carry foreign weapons and even throughout my basic training, I was never trained by foreign weapons. I rode SAM 20's, 50's, 100's, Mambas, Mfezi, Rattle and shot with R4's, MGLs, motars, etc, all which are locally produced. It is very scares that a SA foot soldier will encounter foreign weapons throughout his career. Foreign weapons are largerly operated at the advanced level in the navy and Airforce and the rest are proudly South African made weapons. We only keep limited number of foreign weapons and sometimes where possible they are used to temporarily close the gap until we come with something locally produced.

With regard to the badger, it is locally produced as we speak and will be modified a bit from the prototype. I have personally saw it on display in Pretoria. It will further be armed by SA made weapons.

With regard to Nigeria helping to free South Africa, those credentials are not exclusive to Nigeria, the whole world fought for South Africa. However, honour must go to the youth of SA in Soweto, who selflessly devoted their lives to fight for the people of South Africa. Nigeria had never even threw a single stone on the apartheid murderous police vans other than the people of SA themselves who were even neglected by the UN. Many countries are now claming false victories about the anti-apartheid war they never faught and in that regard, I respect CUBA and RUSSIA for bravely challenging the apartheid regime and even in the battlefield.

chris365: you failed to understand his post. read them carefully.

and please you people should stop comparing asia to africa. Those asian countries were already countries before they were colonized which Almost no african country was. they speak the same language and trades within Asia cannot be compared to Africa. there are many reasons Asia is better than Africa. China was a country before colonized.

now lets look at africa. how many countries were in Africa before colonization? there were kingdoms and tribes, Almost no countries. Africa is not united(forget the AU ish) intra-African trade is the lowest among regions in the world, you can't compare Asia's relationship with the west to Africa's cos Africa has always been too divided to challenge western manipulations of it's resources.

Nigeria was not in control of it's oil till recently, NNPC only collected taxes from shell and co. who had full control of the industry, same thing is going on in many African countries till date. e.g. all Francophone countries.

south african was favored cos of the white settlers. period

abeg lets go back to the topic.
Don't look at the history, concentrate on the current affairs. There were many countries in Asia which were established through colonisation. We cannot put that as an excuse. The question is what have African leaders achieved ever since the colonisers left?

drag_on: o.k. take a look at Singapore and malaysia,Nations that Jihaljihad quoted.

During World War II, Singapore was conquered and occupied by the Japanese Empire from 1942 to 1945. When the war ended, Singapore reverted to British control, with increasing levels of self-government being granted, culminating in Singapore's merger with the Federation of Malaya to form Malaysia in 1963. However, social unrest and disputes between Singapore's ruling People's Action Party and Malaysia's Alliance Party resulted in Singapore's separation from Malaysia. Singapore became an independent republic on 9 August 1965.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Singapore

As you can see malaysia and singapore seperated after the almalgamation of the two nations. now check the ethnic composition;

Ethnic composition (%) of resident population (singapore)
Ethnic 1970 1980 1990 2000 2006 2010
Chinese 77.0 78.3 77.7 76.8 75.2 74.1
Malays 14.8 14.4 14.1 13.9 13.6 13.4
Indians 7.0 6.3 7.1 7.9 8.8 9.2
Others 1.2 1.0 1.1 1.4 2.4 3.3

Singapore is made up of chinese?!! how ethnicaly uniform!! A few malays they seperated from and then indians. If the chinese, indians and malays cant live with each other that they have seperate Nations how much more Africa?

Nigeria has about 300 tribes and hundreds of languages.

Africa is dealing with huge problems we never had, but, yes slowly we are dealing with it.Their cannot be progress without peace, and there cant be peace without justice. Justice comes when you have a right to self determination. This is hard to achieve when you future was forced on you by invading forces.A political solution has to be found, and will be found.
Yes, still the African leaders had over 50 good years of reparations to undo the imbalances of the past. Colonists have since gone but many of African leaders are still running after them asking for money. Over 30% of Africa's nation have also since relocated to the land of colonisers because of the failure of their leaders to initiate changes.

drag_on: Unfortunately dear friend, the fact is Africa was divided like a piece of meat by the colonial administrators (i don't use "rulers')

"Consequent to the political and economic rivalries among the European empires, in the last quarter of the 19th century, the partitioning of Africa was how the Europeans avoided warring amongst themselves over Africa.[3] "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scramble_for_Africa
They did not care about the African Nations as they pre-existed,they just yolked together many civilizations, created mis-trust amongst them so that they(the different tribes) all look to the Europeans for justice, thereby Governing and exploiting the land.Post independence, with the expulsion of the Europeans administrators.Nations and tribes that had never dwelt with each other as a political union suddenly found themselves in a political power tussle, tribal rivalries and mistrust grew.Civil wars erupted in some areas while many Nation states were near ungovernable without a dictator;and guess who benefited from all these, yes, the Europeans, welcome Neo-colonialism. Nigeria was the Amalgamation of 3 Massive Empires and a Triving Republic .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokoto_Caliphate
"The Sokoto Caliphate is an Islamic spiritual community in Northern Nigeria, led by the Sultan of Sokoto (currently Sa'adu Abubakar). It was founded during the Fulani War in 1809 by Usman dan Fodio.[1] Throughout the 1800s, it was one of the largest and most powerful empires in sub-Saharan Africa until British conquest in 1903.[2] When the British took over the territory the political authority of the Caliphate was abolished and put under the Northern Nigeria Protectorate; however, the title of Sultan was retained and remains an important religious position for Muslims in the region to the current day.[2]"

The Benin Empire (1440–1897)
"The King of Benin can in a single day make 20,000 men ready for war, and, if need be, 180,000, and because of this he has great influence among all the surrounding peoples. . . . His authority stretches over many cities, towns and villages. There is no King thereabouts who, in the possession of so many beautiful cities and towns, is his equal."
—Olfert Dapper, Nauwkeurige Beschrijvinge der Afrikaansche Gewesten (Description of Africa), 1668
The kingdom of Benin offers a snapshot of a relatively well-organized and sophisticated African polity in operation before the major European colonial interlude.[3] Military operations relied on a well trained disciplined force. At the head of the host stood the Oba of Benin. The monarch of the realm served as supreme military commander. Beneath him were subordinate generalissimos, the Ezomo, the Iyase, and others who supervised a Metropolitan Regiment based in the capital, and a Royal Regiment made up of hand-picked warriors that also served as bodyguards. Benin's Queen Mother also retained her own regiment, the "Queen's Own." The Metropolitan and Royal regiments were relatively stable semi-permanent or permanent formations
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benin_Empire

OYO Empire
The Oyo Empire was a Yoruba empire of what is today western and northern Nigeria. Established in the 14th century, the Oyo Empire grew to become one of the largest West African states encountered by pre-colonial explorers. It rose through the outstanding organizational skills of the Yoruba, wealth gained from trade and its powerful cavalry. The Oyo Empire was the most politically important state in the region from the mid-17th to the late 18th century,[citation needed] holding sway not only over most of the other kingdoms in Yorubaland, but also over nearby African states, notably the Fon Kingdom of Dahomey in the modern Republic of Benin to the west.

By 1680, the Oyo Empire spanned over 150,000 square kilometers.[1] It reached the height of its power in the 18th century.[10] And despite its violent creation, it was held together by mutual self-interest.[23] The government was able to provide unity for a vast area through a combination of local autonomy and imperial authority.[29]

The Igbos.
The Igbo people have had heavily fragmented and politically independent communities.[14] Before knowledge of Europeans and full exposure to other neighbouring ethnic groups, the Igbo did not have a strong identity as one people. As in the case of most ethnic groups, the British and fellow Europeans identified the Igbo as a tribe.[15] Chinua Achebe, among other scholars, challenged this because of its negative connotations and possible wrong definition.[15] He suggested defining the Igbo people as a nation similar to the Cherokee Native Americans or Japanese, although the Igbo do not have an officially recognized physical state of their own.
Traditional Igbo political organization was based on a quasi-democratic republican system of government. In tight knit communities, this system guaranteed its citizens equality, as opposed to a feudalist system with a king ruling over subjects.[36] This government system was witnessed by the Portuguese who first arrived and met with the Igbo people in the 15th century.[37] With the exception of a few notable Igbo towns such as Onitsha, which had kings called Obi, and places like the Nri Kingdom and Arochukwu, which had priest kings; Igbo communities and area governments were overwhelmingly ruled solely by a republican consultative assembly of the common people.[36] Communities were usually governed and administered by a council of elders.[38]
Mathematics in traditional Igbo society is evident in their calendar, banking system and strategic betting game called Okwe.[43] In their indigenous calendar, a week had four days, a month consisted of seven weeks and 13 months made a year. In the last month, an extra day was added.[44][45] This calendar is still used in indigenous Igbo villages and towns to determine market days.[46] They settled law matters via mediators, and their banking system for loans and savings, called Isusu, is also still used

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igbo_people
All these states (advanced societies )were annexed by war, colonisation not only halted our development it reversed it by forcing major empires into a political union which they are struggling to deal with to date.but ,WE SHALL OVERCOME.

The Partitioning of Africa was the Single worst Incident in the History of this Continent and it all occurred to prevent the Europeans from going to war amongst themselves over our Lands.
I beg to differ. The question is what have all these African nations attained ever since they gained independence from their colonial masters as compared to their Asians counterparts who also happened to be slaves of the same masters. When Asian and African countries gained independence, visually were all on the same level of development. From early 1960's to date many African countries hardly have anything to show of development other than consistent civil wars, corruption and militancy. Asian countries have since developed beyond recognition and nobody would ever blame colonisation on their part. Pointing fingers on the forgoten history will not help, because colonists never took all the cruide oil and mineral resources with them to Europe and why do we have to continue to blame them for our curses. Greed, averice and selfishness harbored by African leaders is what really drag Africa down in terms of development. An African mental set-up really need an urgent repair, because they suffer inferiority complex themselves when they are in company of europeans. Why is it that Africans always view Europeans as more cleaver than them and as the threat that wants to take advantage of them. Why can't they change their mental set-up a bit and perceive themselves as more superior than Europeans and wherever possible take advantage of them thereof.

Thinking like African in Africa!!!

Augustine Again: if they are not happy with their country's current loaction on world map, south africans can pack their bags and families, move out of africa, finally settle down in europe....and leave all the mineral resources behind for zimbabwe to take over. simple cheesy
Well, sometimes you just wish if there was no country called South Africa. A country with so much little population but major influence on the continent. I understand that if I was in your position, I would have done the same, South Africans have a trend of thinking that SA is not part of Africa and also of referring to other countries on the continent as Africa.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m):
Augustine Again: i said before that i DO NOT hate south africa.

your soweto military is just over-rated, so i helped you to insert a needle inside your over-inflated balloon cheesy

so that south africa can respect his senior brother....nigeria the giant of africa.
There is nobody who had ever over-rated our military. You are indeed suffering from inferiority complex. Are we by any way over-rating our military when we claim that we are the only military in Africa to use over 70% of locally produced weapons. We have never claim that we are Rambo's of Africa and all that we are proud of is our locally produced weapons, that's all!!!

With regard to Nigeria as a senior brother, I hope it was the one which was suppose to look out for South Africa and its people, but instead is a junior brother (SA) which look out for his senior brother (Nigeria) and its refugees who reside in SA. Our companies in Nigeria have provided jobs for many Nigerians, including our government which has offered jobs to many Nigerians in Education (secondary n tertiary), Health and Banking sector. Is this not a hypocrisy that a younger brother is looking after an older brother.

Why can't you say weaknesses of Type 209 subs generally, because they are being used by many countries. Why single out South Africa? Is it because of the underlying hatred you have against South Africans. I think is a problem for South Africa to have been positioned in Africa because it gives Nigeria a lot of headache when it comes to continental competitions. Well, I now understand.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 6:36am On Nov 18, 2013
NaijaPikinGidi: Only a military neophyte like you will take men and weapons blindly into combat zone without remotely checking aerially for enemy positions and movements in relation to yours! You cannot lead me because at your level you do not comprehend realtime war planning! You can foolishly dwell around the term "intelligent" but intelligence is the edge that satellite information and field operatives offer to the Nigerian Army planners! We are yet to lose a war ... Which tells you how brutal we are with intelligence based planning and deployment or call it strategy! Weapons do not win wars ... strategy, technology driven intelligentsia, disciplined command and control, and great skill with basic weaponry will win wars!

For your silly comment above I would have instantly dismissed you from the Force if I were your commanding officer! Why must NA bring down a satellite from space orbit to a war zone whereas there are computers and devices that can connect or hookup from anywhere to transmit data and images of enemy lines an positions? Why does the NA have a command centre as well as a highly trained NA Signals Corps? SANDF will be a recognizable enemy with recognizable crafts and battle formation, that can be tracked and monitored on land, air or sea! Our Satelites will deal with your movements like charm! BH is not a recognizable enemy because they are not a structured force, have no fixed base, do not have recognizable crafts and battle formation! They are ordinary civilians in appearance and movement. That they have been defeated is credit to the DSS, Airforce, and Army Intelligentsia. The US has had no input or contribution to dislodging BH, so don't get ahead of yourself already. You must be finding it hard to openly acknowledge the clinical results being achieved by our forces against your BH friends! Do you need your brother AndrewZA to tell/remind you that Nigeria operates drones?

Don't go chasing butterflies!
You can say it all but at the end of the day is weapons which will have to kill the enermy. Without them you can watch the enermy with your satellite as if you are watching a movie. Without the use of modern weapons your satellites are as useless as a dummy.

Augustine Again: the two richest countries in africa by mine-able natural resources are :

1. Nigeria

2. Congo DRC

Libya, Algeria, Gabon, Angola are not too far behind.

South Africa is dwarfed by nigeria because it has no large quantities of crude oil, gas and bitumen. FACT !!! swallow it dude !!!

.
Nigeria with all this few mineral traces, which are not even on their billion tons can never rule Africa, lol!!! Those minerals can never be mined, only a fool who knows nothing about mining can be lured in such a deal. http://www.nipc.gov.ng/deposit.html

Congo DR is inarguably the most richest country in terms minerals, it is well endowed country after South Africa.

South Africa, whether you go to the moon, earth, mars or mercury is the world richest country in terms of minerals, far above all minerals that Nigeria have. I can see that patriotism and your strong hate of SA are the cause of your stuborness even if the research proves you wrong.

Augustine Again: you cannot directly compare prices of oil versus platinum or gold. FACT !!!

oil is liquid measured in barrels, platinum and gold are metals measured in ounces.

is basic science and commerce taught as subjects in south african schools ? cheesy

.
My point was that with an ounce of gold or platinum I can buy plenty of barrels of oil. A gold as big as a block of brick can build you a mansion, and many cars with a lot a change.

Augustine Again: Nigeria building nuclear power in Abuja to rule Africa and selling uranium to Russia

.
Already your neighbour is doing that and even today he remains poor. Uranium is a cursed mineral, it is one mineral that stand the threat of consuming the planet and there won't be agaugust and his pets anymore.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 8:07pm On Nov 17, 2013
Augustine Again: south africa and all its machinery, industry, and vehicles will grind to a halt and freeze without oil and gas, no petrol, no diesel, no engine all, no grease....all south african engines will knock and die cheesy

oil and gas is power, nigeria is among the top 5 countries of the world combining crude oil, gas, and bitumen wealth.

.
The world is now moving away from over dependence on gas. SA is one of the countries which have pledged to endorse green energy and just last month BMW launched their electric cars in Mzanzi and were put on display. South Africa is already planning to set up mini power stations throughout the country to charge those electric cars. Trains have long moved from fuel to electricity and over 80% of SA trains are electric trains.

Besides, the price of oil is still way far below the price of platinum and gold. FACT!!!

South Africa and Guinea are Africas richest countries in terms of mineral reserves. Fact!! Researched and proven, not claimed by some poor wannabe a researcher with flawed analysis compiled at the back yard from online information.

agaugust: my friend, are you blind , deaf and dumb at the same time ? cheesy

can't you read your own source ? only metal minerals are mentioned in that source, NO oil and gas mentioned.

only a fool will say south africa is richer than saudi arabia, kuwait, nigeria, iran, iraq, libya, etc.

okay if you say minerals in the technical sense by excluding oil and gas.

then we will say natural resources wealth extracted by mining, so oil and gas being hydrocarbons will be counted.

so in terms of all natural resources that are mined, NIGERIA IS THE RICHEST COUNTRY IN AFRICA, fact !!!!

south africa has $2.5 trillion mineral wealth according to your sources of expert researchers and university professors.

OPEC world respected data says nigeria has 40 billion barrels of crude oil reserves, multiply it by the $100 per barrel price of oil and you get $4 trillion for nigeria, that already beats south africa's $2.5 trillion metallic mineral wealth.

now go to OPEC website and add nigerian gas and bitumen reserves which are many times more than our crude oil, then go to nigerian solid minerals official government website and add our metallic minerals like iron ore, coal, uranium, and you see how nigeria will dwarf south africa like an elephant will dwarf a goat cheesy
An once of platinum and gold can buy millions and million barrels of oil. Oil can never be any expensive than Gold and Platinum. The only difference is that oil sell more faster than other, now that is what confuses the likes of agaugust. However, oil deplete faster than other resources. Yes, SA is way far richer than those countries you have mentioned above in terms of mineral wealth. Oil can never come close to solid minerals in price, you go ask that to your professors. Minerals that you find in SA make cars, cellphones, missiles, trains, Aeroplanes, computers, etc, and without them the world will freez.

This list of minerals below makes me laugh as compared to what we have in SA. Instead of gems I thought it was gonna tell me about diamonds, what a shame. Millions of tons of iron ore can be mined in just two years, products will be exhausted even before they could cover the cost of mining.

Augustine Again: .

some (not all) of nigeria's mineral wealth official government database

http://www.nipc.gov.ng/deposit.html

list excludes nigerian uranium and crude oil/gas. now do some maths if you went to school !

.
Uranium has stringent international control over its use. Nuclear destroys the planet earth and no wonder there is a seriours anti-proliferation policies which were regulate it. Uranium can never make you any rich and having more deposits of it does not represent wealth.

Augustine Again: that's a big lie bros cheesy

those cube satellites are for university students experiments NOT military modern warfare

"Beginning in 1999, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and Stanford University developed the CubeSat specifications to help universities worldwide to perform space science and exploration.

In 2004, with their relatively small size, CubeSats could each be made and launched for an estimated $65,000–$80,000.This price tag, far lower than most satellite launches, has made CubeSat a viable option for schools and universities across the world. Because of this, a large number of universities and some companies and government organizations around the world are developing CubeSats — between 40 and 50 universities in 2004, Cal Poly reported"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CubeSat

that south africa cube of sugar is only good enough for my cup of gari cheesy

experimental school cubes satellites cost about $70,000 but real standard national satellites cost about $100 million .

south africa know that thing is like a toy for experiments, and contrary to your second lie, south africa is desperate to get a real satellite like nigeria in future ....

South Africa considering investing R450m in new standard size big satellite

http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/south-africa-considering-investing-r450-million-in-new-satellite-2012-10-12

now go kiss your canvas shoes in the mud...south africa MUST bow to nigeria's satellite spy power military superiority in war, nigeria is your master.

.
Who said that they are for military? I am very definite that there is nowhere you have seen "military" throughout my post. Besides space technology of SA is now controlled by DENEL and two of the satellites in SA were designed by post graduate students. Obviously, Military will use that satellite if need be.

I knew you were gona come with some criticism inspired by your ignorance to move with time in this information age. Cube satellites are new form of satellites first developed in America. These satellites are compartible with the modern times of technology we are living in and can even perform better than old big satellites. They are much faster than big satellites and some rotate the earth 3 x more than an ordinary satellites, that is fifteen times a day, however giving you 15 chances to explore the same area over and over again.

I wonder if you were still born when cellphones were as big as a brick and look now how small have they become. Computers were also as that big and today we have tablets and notebooks.

South Africa will invest more and more on those nano-satellites because they are more manageble than the big ones and more durable. We are playing safe chief and we do not want to polute space with so many junks some as big as a train.
