This morning i made a mistake of my life.
I went to raise my car up today because I really wanted to do body work and change the front bumper.

The kazeem mechanics couldn’t removed the 2 back shocks. They said the back shocks absorbers are first time losing enhance they will need panel-belter to come and remove about 4 bolts from the two back shocks before it will come out. Meanwhile i was already regretting my decision as the panel belter was charging me exorbitantly to do the work. This panelbelter cut the cast iron from the down to remove the bolts and couldn’t weld it back, because it was cast iron and he we telling me it will work like that with no issues as he cant weld something to cover that space.

When tthey finally brought down the 4 shocks. They have scattered so many things with fire which i have to replace one after the other. Even to the extent the fire burnt the brake fluid pipe and hydraulic leaks out there.

To my surprise 3 shocks were dead. No way they will work it with dead shock’s as its doesn’t make any sense. The remaining one that was even good was too soft as i was advised to change the 4 shocks. Money I didn’t even budget i was just spending it like that before i know almost 100k just disappeared.

Funny enough the Car became shapeless as I regret ever raising it. First thing tomorrow morning i’m going there to remove that shit they put on the shocks. What a waste.

Wisdom should tell you to drop car and enter bus. I full my tank for the first time on Friday since tinubu removed subsidy body tell me. Now fuel is almost half tank. Of where I have been to if I should go with public transport it wouldn't have reach 3k.

If I should travel in December 16k public transport go and come. But if I travel with car I should budget two and half tank. Car check up and service expenses e.t.c

The best way I can think of is the shocks absorbers.

And don't be scared of the welding, it won't affect anything as long as the mechanic uses equal length in both shocks when raising. Just that anytime you change any shock you will need to go raise it again. What if they just add rubber tyre pad on it? Instead of welding?

I raise mine too for my Toyota Sienna 06.

there is nothing like stealing someone organ its not possible. what happen is just a fear. God abeg oh make them nor accuse person wrongly oh.

i plan to buy new front bumper and a bit of body work and respray before Xmas.

but all of this will be counter productive without lifting the car up due to bad roads.

i plan to do them gradually by first lifting it up then next will be to change the front bumper.

i went to consult two mechanic they said they will remove and adjust/weld the shocks. this doesn't sound nice to me.

there is no plan for bigger rim or tyre. is there any other way out?

is it okay to tampered weld the shocks? what if i need to change some of the shocks in future?

It’s pointless going to supreme court at this time. How I wish buhari installed interim government to oversaw the ruling it would have been better. But swearing tinubu in, in this part if the world is not something any court can undo.

Right from when they went to court i have been telling people who care to listen that justice doesn’t work in Nigeria. Court case is fruitless mission in this country and only work for poor Nigerians.

In my town you will see those old taxi that have lost oxygen sensor and catalyst. The state of the car you will know many things have lost functioning but yet places they will charge 2.5k to 3k to go. If you go there and come back the fuel you will burn will be more than 2.5k. I need to know because i’m tired.

Outside of the fact that personal car is beneficial for short city trips, like stop here and there not more than 3-5km each trip. Its bad for city journey more than 20km - 30km.

I bought fuel 5k yesterday (fake 8 liters but 6.4l )When one of my babe came. We did small city trip here and there. But when it was time for her to go I was refusing to go drop her. Stating that she live off town that’s way opposite my direction. And if you factor in to go and come back at that very point its about 12-14 miles. you know The fuel i will burn will be more than 3k. Here it is 3l is 3.75l that’s N3050. from my calculations i have already burns 2k from the 5k my car was showing yellow light when i top that 5k 6.4L.

I stop a taxi but they charged 3k. I know they would have go as least 2.5k if i price and beg. I decided to look for keke but it was too late, keke stop work by 7 and bus by 9pm.

I know it would cost my close to 1 gallon to go round trip. I had no option to go drop her and and went home. The fuel gauge was in empty but it hasn’t show yellow light. But I know if I drive it out now it will show yellow.

I want to ask this the simple question how do taxi is making a living from this also considering repairs of their cars?
