I just read through the link now.
I think this jamb hassle this year is a national issue. They didn't make adequate preparation for the changes made and those guys are finding it had to blend with.
Some states are going through same rough process but I guess maybe theirs has not caught media attention.

See another point buttressing my position on development and business growth in the state

This thread is for your read, see reason why I really say it's not a business friendly state ,too much chaos !!!

I know of few non indigenes that was wasted while at the peak of their biz...best thing there while making waves there is to keep a low profile and not show off,cos security is not guarantee there, hope you know the menace of cultism there.

Menace of culto,- I have being waiting for you to mention that since our discourse ,its like buying handkerchief from aboki ,almost every young teen and adults ( 25-45) age bracket are not left out its a dog eat dog scenario over there .you nerd to identify these people in town so you don't mistep cause they are brutal,

Truly, they kept investing in hotels and also schools,I and my neighbour shared a thought about it 5-6years ago, that would have been a huge success had it seen the light of the day,cos seeing the way schools flourish now there mehn...it's encouraging.
Really, benue is blessed with abundant oranges and mangoes but seeing how to transform some raw materials to another finished product is a challenge.I guess they just prefer maintaining the status quo...breaking the ground to a new venture is still a nightmare.
But I heard when someone tries to establish some thing there some forces in authorities try to frustrate the success of such, giving the fact of they lack of industries and certain development.

That is correct ,too much envy and jealousy in swing peole succeed,,worst when they see non indigenes progress

Those are really uncommon ventures that have not been tapped and explored completely.
it's a matter of time,I believe makurdi is gradually embracing modern lifestyle.
I observed that when I visited the place last quarter of last year.
They are picking up gradually and the folks that have the opportunity with financial capital are fast seizing the opportunities.

You are right ,the politicians with cash have their hands in all the juicy business in town especially jpspitapity business springing up here and there, my concern and fear is that too much of hotels around and state does not have tourism potential
Another profitable business that Will thrive is juice processing with the state having good variety|species of oranges and mango
This feat is capital intensive,I learnt a juice processing plant exist in the state but not functioning for over sometime
This would have been a good investment for the state to earn revenue
They have the best orange and mango

About that transportation aspect I would say to an extend, makurdi is fair compared to the various states I have dwelled in.If u have dwelled in places like lagos, ekiti, abia state u will know what I mean.

I live in Lagos and can relate with upbeat in the sector-driver issues, maintenance ,police, violet al

I agree with all your angles, but am curious to know the few that has survive there and still surviving are doing it,especially in the area of electricity, heat, sales, obtaining raw materials etc

You need to be on ground at least 80-90% minotoring to ensure success, also business that can thrive. Despite these constraints is transportation. In and outside. The state.

is good to know the pay is due only yearly and not monthly if I got you correctly.
I never knew makurdi have the menace of touts harrasin business owners for illegal monetary favour like Lagos.
the court injunctions so authorities go to court to fortify their claim and right, that's serious.

thanks bro for the responses

The state government generate revenue without providing enabling environment for business to thrive
Though above is a general assumption nation wide, but makurdi is really not. It.too much hostility,
Career / Re: I Resigned After Receiving My Salary: Help, Am I In Trouble? by Flaghouse1: 3:09pm On Mar 31, 2017

Please NLders,

I'm still a teenager but through with my high school. So i decided to look for money and i got this job to work as supporting staff at a microfinance bank. I worked there for 4 months and stopped working Yesterday after receiving this month salary. I travelled today to register for jamb from my salary and when i got back home, my mum said my boss came looking for me that i must submit my resignation letter. I wrote the letter and gave it to him, he collected it and returned it telling me that i must return the salary. He said i should have given the company one month notice before i would have been eligible for my salary or else the company will come to our house and seize some property. I told him to show me where those terms were written in agreement i signed, he got angry and started calling me names and threatened me. Please what should i do, abeg help me.

NB: I left because of my boss(branch manager) and the remaining loan officer started asking me to do jobs that were not part of

Personally beg him and tell him you left because of jamb so you can have time to prepare for exams
When you were offered employment did you get any document regarding condition of service and terms of employment signed by you ?

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this thread or on the family section

Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and need, and the removal of everything that distracts us from it. It is a life that forces intentionality. And as a result, it forces improvements in almost all aspects of your life.
Another word for minimalism is Simplicity. simple ,yet elegant. There's beauty in simplicity
o

Guy,

It's the right section for the post,me as a person I fancy minimalist style of living, hang on to what you need as immediate material possession and discard what is not relevant ,by organizing junk yard sales.

Most items we keep at home we really don't need them, like my wife has over 5 blenders, microwave oven-3,cooking pots-9 and some other items we might not need in another 5 years, once I advice her to sell story starts

Dino intends to file the case against sahara as a civil suit. That is why he intends claiming damages.

The penalties for defamation under criminal law are either imprisonment for a specified term (usually a short prison term) or court fine.

If not for the fact that defamation can lead to death with people who are not emotion ally strong .ir is supposed to be regarded as a civil case, so what I am saying in rsdencr is that tweaking our laws as far as this discourse is concerned may not be feasible

I am not an indigene.

You have all these business levies gazzeted and ungazzetef which you pay yearly "very ridiculous and exhorbitant ,and at most times court injunctions and thuggery used to collect paymen
Also the weather is not very friendly ,hit weather over 39 degrees
So put all these into consideration in your business plan's

Victims are given the opportunity to seek remedy either under criminal law or civil law. As a criminal wrong, it's 'defamation'; while as a civil wrong, it's 'slander or libel'.
It's a serious offense that can kill or even permanently ruin one's reputation in the society.
That has been the position since independence.

DELAW!!!
you just explained it in simpler term
So how would you relate this case with that of sahara reporters and Dino. Undler which classification will it fall,as to me I see no difference with both but different treatment based on status

Thanks for the clarification, people don't really understand what cyber crime is all about, what she should be charged for or taking to court for should be defamation of character which is. a civil offence that remains bailable
The onus lies with her to prove that the statement or comments she made about the pastor is valid by producing convincing evidence to the court

The problem with investing in the state are as follows
1.low per capita income
2.low purchasing power- civil service towm
3, most people lack credibility and integrity in business dealings
4. Trust is a scarce comodity
5.too much levied payment without commensurate impact on your businesses
6.Poor or no power supply and most times the light may not be able to power your equipment

For poultry business I doubt if you are producing on large scale whether you can have the market rater you may look outside the state for market

See link below and you will see why I say it'd not a state to do business, lots of issues

D exercise was called tax audits and it's been carried out on previous years documents

My point exactly, if tax audit was conducted and it was discovered that remittance was not made by the school, there would have been correspondences telling them to do the needful you don't just come in 2017 and seal this institution, what SLsteps has BIRS taken to ensure closure,so BIRS can confirm that 2012-2016 PAYE was remitted to the state, we should be articulate when we report situations to give clarity to the populace

Only the BIRS can answer that question. Na dem sabi what took them so long to detect that amount from a prominent government parastatal. Its not that they have too many business to handle in the state. As for me its a gross incompetency on the part of BIRS.

INCOMPETENCE in capital letters ,very useless state body that do not know what they are doing they should come and learn from Lagos _LSIR
