Einstein had learning disability ,his teacher wrote a letter to the mother that he is untreatable and would not become anybody in life.

When he got home ,gave the letter to the mother and she read it.Eistein asked the mother what the content was,the mother just told him that be was too brilliant to continue going to school and was withdrawn from school.
He was home thought by the mother to cover for his inadeqacies .
Some years later he was able to stumbled across the letter and discovered that the mum lied to him in order to improve his leaning disability, for this he so much held the mother in high esteem

By your postulations "95% of Nigerians are corrupt and majority are Christians".

I can deduce the following.

(a) The Southern part of Nigeria is more populated than the North.

(b) There are fake muslims. Found mostly in the Southern parts of Nigeria. "Real Northern Muslim".

(c) Christians are fraudsters never to be trusted. Including Acting President Yemi Osibanjo.

(d) You are a sick, myopic and local religious bigot and ethnic jingoist.

Good logic, the guy does not really know that before you attach percentages to any sampled element must be backed up by empirical facts, that's why I had to fish forward below postulation for him to address

Sir, I beg to differ with your comment, please forget the "A real northern Muslim business man or woman won't disappoint you in business transaction"
My question is this how do you identify "a real northern Muslim"
1.is it one that observes his time of prayers as at when due ?
2.one that is always willing to assist his neighbor ?
3.give alms to the needy?
4.Attend hajj.?

Guys,

I need some advise; I have property where there has recently been an electricity surge and the pumping machine for the borehole was damaged. Hence I have been told that we need to re-cool it. I have been given the following quote:

Recoiling of the machine
18,000
Control box 6,000
Cable 18,000
Labour 10,000
Total. 52,000.

Also I was told I needed to install a timer switch next for the borehole so that we would have another incident where the borehole was left on and a power surge cause damage.

Borehole Timer costed at 25,000

Then, we have to earthen the property as it was reported that the taps seems to have some current in them.

1. Industrial salt he said he needed 2 pack which is 10,000. Should we manage 1 which is 5,000. As required the two is 10,000
2. Two earth rod 20,000.
3. 1/2 coil of 16mm coper wire 25,000
4. Bore hole complete timer. 25,000
5. Workmanship 20,000
Total = 100,000

Is this quote reasonable?

This is far too expensive ,go and do a price comparation yourself you will see that you can save over N50k,listen to what others told you about the pumping machine, buy a new one and repair the old one as back up,

The guy would have been able to advice you to buy a new pumping machine but because of the greed in him,he is advising you to recoil it at N18k,then how much is a new one

Cheers

Explorers:
I made a post earlier, i said if the ice in Antarctica should melt into the ocean, the water level will rise.

Like dropping an ice weighing 5kg into a full bucket of water, it's gonna spill.

That's how i understand it.

Some said its wrong, that the ice is already in the water, that it has no effect(fine).

But i'll like to say that Antartica is having land beneath the ice.

About 40% of ice in Antartica rests on the ground.

About 44% of the ice is floating in the water.

About 5% lies on the few mountains available in the area.

So whats going to happen if the 40% of the ice resting on the ground should melt and flow into the ocean

Explorer, not all persons on nairaland needs to be argue with. Some argue blindly because they do not know, some argue because they saw others arguing and they feel they should take a side, while while some argue in order to be noticed.

You are so quick to to ask for lawyers, human rights agencies to pursue the case.

1.Have you really found out from the lady what she did to warrant such battering from the husband-Note that I am not supporting the husbands actions

2.have you tried to get to meet the husband to hear his own side of the story. With a view of proffering solutions to their marital problems?

Until you do the above before you can call any agency or lawyer to intervene,

Jagermeister:

Let me educate you very briefly.

Britain thrives on tax and so tax-payers primarily fund government expenses.

Now I bet you don't pay your tax, most Nigerians don't..

I agree that we're not saints here in Nigeria and government hands are terrible, the NCS inclusive.

But duty payment and remittance is one of few ways revenue is generated in Nigeria.. Oil isn't very vibrant these days.

As much as it may seem ill to you, it is what it is... If you ship a car to the USA, you will be made to pay US Customs duty on it, why should it be different here my name-slinging friend. Likewise, if you produce anything here, u'll pay excise.

Now if you buy a car and refuse to pay duty on it or adopt ways to circumvent statutory rules, and then the car was seized or you ship a vehicle into Nigeria and leave it at the port of arrival and it accrues rent, do you expect the federal government to give the car back to you after it's being taken from you or help you pay the rent your car accumulated?

Then there'll be no fiscal policy covering importation anymore and everybody will now want to do the same... It's even almost like that now.

Now the NCS are auctioning the cars back to you.. The general public oh... U're still complaining and calling them Bastards..

The more reason I called you a hypocrite. U're angry I called you a hypocrite but do you know the people you called Bastards? I bet not.

If you had an uncle or even a distant relative at the very least, you wouldn't have been careless with your tongue (fingers in this case)

Wake up fam!

Nice bashing for the goat, if the idiot truly has an uncle/brother in the customs and such opportunity of car auction is announced to the bastard he will log in to take advantage, tomorrow you see the hypocrite cruising a car of N4m which he was opportune to pay N1.5m ,when you ask him how much he bought the car. Hew I'll be telling you he bought for N5m.

We Nigerians are hypocrites, once it does not have any bearing impact on them, they are good to go,once it's thier car that is auctioned that's when you see them misinforming people on social media telling you how custom officers are corrupt.

There are standard procedures as regards importation ,once you breach any of these procedures/guideline you will face the music, how can one import a 2015 model of a car and on papers it's written a 2011 model ,what do you expect custom to do shake your hands and congratulate you for short changing thout system ?

Agriculture / Re: Agriculture Is Not The Magic Solution - By Simon Kolawole by Flaghouse1: 12:51am On Jun 20, 2017
Jessam:
Very great write up.. as one of the biggest pig farms in Nigeria (BTW we also rear chickens, cows, ducks etc) and been in operation for over 5 years Jessam Cattle Ranch & Farms has found that adding value tot the production value chain has been so challenging in Nigeria, As the CP has said the higher up the chin you go the greater the economic value of the farm product or the component of the farm produce. The problem is that in order to go up the value chain you need key infrastructure. Jessam and most other mechanized farms have found that lack of consistent electricity in particular in the farm has made it impossible for us to preserve our farm produce, be it butchered animals or fresh vegetables, without electricity we cannot add value to our products. We would love to slaughter 100 pigs a day, keep them refrigerated and ready to be processed to sausages, bacon, ham, meat pies etc how do we do this without out constant electricity.Even the finished product has to be stored for a couple of weeks in refrigerated store rooms before it gets to the consumer

Bad roads - Without good roads it is literally impossible to embark on processing our produce on a large scale, we need good motorable roads to move livestock and produce from farm to factory, from factory to warehouses over the nation, from warehouse to shops and markets. Unfortunately the roads are so bad and the cost of transportation and damage to vehicles, extended journey times simply erode any gains in moving up the value chain. This is one of the reasons importation of finished goods is more attractive than going the nigerian farm to market route. The importer benefits from the good roads in say Europe to the ship from ship to the port and into Lagos to market so much cheaper and easier.

Security - need I SAY MORE...we all the challenges facing farmers from theft on the actual farms, theft on the highways, thugs extorting lorries on the highways of Nigeria, stealing in factories etc

Nigeria workers mentality - I am sorry to say that many given a job higher up the value chin often see it as a blessing to enrich themselves at the expense of the continued success of the company

add in government policies such as lack of supporting policies to grow the sectors higher up the chain then you realize the reasons why it is so challenging for most mechanised farms to add value on a large scale basis

jessam cattle ranch & farms aims to be a major player in the meat industry and help stop the importation of cheap, rotten, chemical induced meat from being dumped in Nigeria, often slowly ruining our health .

Slow and steady jessam will grow to be a strong brand in food industry. We are based in Enugu. Please enjoy photos our farm. We rear livestock including Cattle, pigs, goats, poultry, ducks. We also process palm oil too.

We currently have a 300 sow operation yielding us around 5000 piglets a year.

Thank you for your contribution to this important discourse, what I see here is that the government is just playing to the gallery, with your effort to grow the agricultural value chain the government effort is really not encouraging to protect your business-bad road, poor electricity, warehousing. Facilities

I pray things change for the better, just can't imagine someone investing overN50 million on agro allied business and cannot make a net profit of N500,000 monthly with all the antecedent cost incurred due to government inadeqacies in the sector
Agriculture / Re: Agriculture Is Not The Magic Solution - By Simon Kolawole by Flaghouse1: 6:52pm On Jun 17, 2017
This write up is rubbish. Agriculture is the solution, it's just been poorly executed. When you get the said cocoa, the key isn't to import it, you are supposed to pass it down through several production cycles. The skin of the plsnt as fertilizer? The seeds sold to local companies to make their own beverages, chocolate etc. Its the solution, it depends on how you exploit it.

Sorry to say,the write up was well thought through,if it's the same Simon kolawole I know he is not talking rubbish, what we need in this country is to develop agriculture to become a big business by government and private sector investing heavily in this sector.

Where is the backward intergration we use to have those days ? All our manufacturing companies prefer importing raw materials locally available here in order to round trip foreign exchange

This task involves a lot of true empirical values that will determine the real worth of your asset, don't let anybody just give you price based on word of mouth.

This has got me thinking deep thought of tendering my resignation letter due to this act. Our immediate boss is to go and attend to another branch and Our senior boss who is not operating from our branch said our immediate boss should hand over to a junior colleague of mine when am the most senior on ground in terms of number of years and cognate experience.

Many a time i look at recognition is not duly granted to those whom it is due, i don't know if i will call this office polities or something else. And why this has got me amazed is that this junior colleague of mine is not even close with our most senior boss who is not operating from our branch and they have not really talked one on one. i have at many occasions talked with him, he knows me one on one.

Something keeps going through my mind: Is it that my immediate boss has punctured my reputation before him that i am not aware? Or was it an oversight? i wish of tendering my resignation considering all the number of years i have served the coy. no reasonable recognition. Please advice

My advice,

You may think that your junior may not have any relationship with the big boss, don't ever think that people are terrible when it comes to keeping of secret,

I once worked in an organisation where staff older than the Md build stupid friendly slavery relationship by going to his house to divulge informations from staff about him just for promotion and favour.

Keep your cool, watch how things eventually pans out with time, since you have more years of cognate experience tea your junior I will advise when he is at an crossroad on a task ensure you make people aware you solve such problems

Take care!!!!

Nigeria has 36 states and the federal capital territory. In all these states, it is normal that crime and unfortunate incidents occur on a daily basis especially with the failed government we have in Nigeria. But for a moderator to bring to the most popular Nigerian site, four unfortunate report from a state for public awareness and discussion obviously shows more of a hypocritic and tribal bigotry mindset.
Now that you have decided to show your hatred for Edo state, i hope your bank account has increased and your joy is full. i just want to let you know that your quest to paint the state bad is a futile one and can never be successful. If you are not a low-life , lets know the state you are from so we compare the level of crime with that of Edo state. Being opportuned to be the moderator of a forum and hiding behind your keyboard to express your bigotry is cowardice.

Why this hate from you, the feature of this story is not the handwork of the moderator ,rather it is the person that started the thread who was present at the the to provide us with video clips for our observation.

Whatever is happening in Edo state is as a result of failure of successive government to provide the needed infrastructures/systems to make make idle youths busy and gainfully employed

Now back to the matter, not that's am hiding brief for the suspected madman/killer,how were they able to identify him a s a serial killer? Have you they interoagted the man to ascertain his means of livelihood-probably a farmer or one who cuts farm land to earn his daily bread.

So it happened that students have to stay on a long cue and some even climb on the storex tank in order to fetch water in the school hostels/halls. There have been shortage of water due to power outage in the halls for more than three days. Rumours have it that the school management is owing BEDC and that's why they refuse to supply electricity to the school for days now.
The funniest aspect of it all is that you need to have a "connection " for you to be able to fetch.

This is serially. Pathetic, don't the school get allocations from th government,I thinks it's high time quarterly or yearly audit be conducted in all these institutions to ascertain how funds allocated are disbursed.

I believe if this is done with all sincerity discoveries would be made to see where these votes/allocation are diverted to

TRICK 5: The faulty meter

Some petrol pumps have rigged meters that start ticking even before petrol starts to flow from the hose. Have you ever gone to a filling station to buy fuel and it takes lesser time to fill your tank, compared to other places? This is as a result of the meters that have been tampered with, the attendant will make you believe the particular fuel dispenser is faster or slower than normal, depending on how the meters were manipulated.

Trick 5 may not be valid in most cases, there are some pumps that dispense faster as submersible pumps has being incorporated I he underground tanks, this you will find in high volume stations and newly constructed stations
