Recently met this single lady of one. Been the one footing her bills and sending her daughter (5yrs old) to school. She told me She wouldn't let us have sex until she sees I'm committed and reality love her. Although, that's not the reason I'm talking care of her daughter, I just naturally love to spend for people I care about. Don't mind him, ignorance is a disease. Some people are even criminally minded - they never wanted to repay the loan in the first place. With bvn and nin there's no hiding place. If you take a loan from anyone, you're under a moral and legal obligation to pay back. Interest-free loans (mostly propagated by shariah-inclined financial institutions) are better alternatives to loan sharks, but some people are blinded by religious prejudice to take advantage of it.

Fast forward to 2013, two years after I left the region, Mubi and the neighbouring towns became strongholds for the boko haram insurgents.

This Unknown gunmen, IPOB and ESN you guys are playing with, it is gradually metamorphosing into a regional civil war.
Just like the boko haram Insurgency, it is a war of Igbos against Igbos.

Today, the east that used to be the destination of every Igbo man during the Christmas period is gradually being deserted. Igbos outside the region cannot return home to celebrate Christmas, those at home cannot move around and sleep with their eyes closed again. Someone having the best of life overseas is inciting you people to kill yourselves.

Bought a tokunbo Mercedes Benz here from a very popular and trusted Nairalander.

Due to his reputation here, I just sent my friend who is based in Lagos to go check out the car and bring it down for me.

Before payment, the seller identified some issues such as leaking exhaust and AC. I agreed to fix some and sent money to him to tidy up the ones he could attend to immediately as he had loads of jobs at hand.

Fast forward to 1 year, after battling with the car like I was tending to a cancer patient. I got to discover that I te hnically bought a rotten water melon:

The engine was tampered with, probably from the US where he imported the car from. As in the engine has been opened before.

The AC leakage never got sorted out. Omoh, I spent over 800k on the AC alone, yet no positive result.

The Indomie was tampered with, I had to replace the exhausts - cost me over 200k.

This is outside some other small small issues I was came up almost on a daily basis.

I sold the car after spending a lost the same amount I bought the car, on repairs and replacement of dead parts.

Bad experie ce I would say, but I learnt never to trust anyone, no matter the name you have made for yourself.

my budget is 4.5M
the choices I am looking at are these :

1. Toyota Rav 4, (2011) Nigerian used. A friend is actually convinced this is the car I should buy as it fits nicely in terms of prestige and functionality. However, I'm not fully convinced as per buying a Nigerian used car and also because I'm not really taken to the RAV4 as I see it as not a masculine car.

2. Toyota Camry 2011 or 2012 (muscle) : I like this car and if it falls within my budget I'd happily buy it. The only negative here is I've been wanting an SUV to be my first car considering Lagos roads etc so I'm not totally sold on the idea of getting this car.

3. Toyota Highlander full option (2007) Direct Belgium or Nigerian used: Now this is the car I I'm most taken to. However, Friends are of the opinion that it is an old car (being 2007) and is gradually being phased out. Also the fact the car does not exactly convey much in terms of prestige etc.

So that's it. I'd appreciate if forum members advice correctly on any of these three car models or recommend something else. Kindly highlight the merits/demerits of buying the foreign used or Nigerian used version of any car you'd recommend.

The attributes I'm looking out for are Functionality, ease of Maintenance, prestige/aesthetics of the car.
