As everyday passes, I become more skeptical about any rebound of the economy. The level of poverty is unbearable and income is shrinking fast. Time will come when some middle class people would be unable to pay rent and the default rate will spike. The current food and groceries inflation is worrisome and the challenges to the economy are becoming even more challenging. I don't know if any of the other presidential candidates would have done anything differently . Truly, Buhari finished this economy and he laid the foundation for the current mess we are seeing. My problem with the current government is profligacy and the opaque nature in award of contracts and management of public finances, even in the midst of overwhelming poverty. |
As a football player, I don't know how you will feel when you are being offered to another club in exchange for a better player from that club ![]() I Know it is a common practice in football to offer one of your players in exchange for another better player from another club. But being the player in the middle of the "chess game" between the two clubs will make you feel somehow. You are now seen as a commodity to be "traded" to get something better. ![]() |
Go to our Universities and see what is happening - very common among the lecturers. I don't know why their retirement age should be pegged at 70years when most of them are not doing anything meaningful once they clock 65 years. You will see them collecting salaries for doing nothing from 60 years. They hardly do any academic work as from 60 but keep delegating their works to graduate assistants. Even those on one paid assignments outside the University or on any political appointment will still be drawing salary from their school. |
"Pilgrims wing of the airport". That was the wing of the airport they landed . They were indeed on an economic pilgrimage to Turkey and have returned, landing at the pilgrimage section if the airport. Funny |
All these pentecostal churches and theatrics. Everything must be done before the church audience or congregations. Someone would be asked to come before the church's congregation and make a confession or give testimony. |
Same kind of architectural design all the time. Is it that our architects are not being creative in coming up with artistic designs instead of this usual brick and roof designs? By the way, what happened to the previous government house? |
Everybody is looking for things to say to keep people reacting and discussing. Its all about clout and undue attention to drive traffic on their personality. Social media is being monetised and Nigerians are making a mess of it, all in a bid to cash out. |
People that didn't know what transpired are here commenting rubbish. I strongly believed that Sanusi was on a vendetta mission against Erastus Akingbola of Intercontinental Bank, Francis Atuche of Bank PHB and Cecelia Ibru of Oceanic. The three Banks were still meeting their obligations to their customers till the time Sanusi hammer came on them. There may have been some breach of corporate governance but Sanusi's action was excessive and high handed. Those banks wouldn't have collapsed if he had allowed those MDs to steer the banks from any financial crisis. These were seasoned bankers that founded and nurtured those banks. There was no way those CEOs would have allowed their businesses to go under. Sanusi just used his office to get even with those CEOs. It wasn't just about maladministration and lack of corporate governance. Did Sanusi follow all the laid down corporate governance policy of CBN when he was the governor? |
Nigerian lecturers are nothing to write home about - Why go physical with a student? They are all product of our society and system. The same way our leaders emanate from the population, same way our lecturers comes from the general population. So pathetic!!! The school should take drastic action against the lecturer |
They should have chilled for a day to rest. The stress of the wedding would have been too much to board a flight immediately. Just chill for a day to rejuvenate and dis-stress your body for another day before jetting out for honey moon. I spent one week with my wife in the village after our wedding to receive fresh air and native foods before we jetted out for our honeymoon. Wetin I know sef? Na their life |
Public Service could be funny in this country. You went to do presentation to the Board Management with your Oga, and your Oga asked you to do presentation to the company's board of directors. Where is it done? When I was in the banking sector, I have gone for high-level presentations with my Executive Director before Management. My job would be to print the slides, check numbers for accuracy for my ED, ensured all supporting documents were in order, serially arranged and well-referenced, the audience's copies printed, and their email received on time to forward the soft copies to them. My ED took up the responsibilities of presentation and explaining facts behind the figures and projections, while I kept changing slides for him and shared any supporting documents the audience or board would want to see. Here, two pot-belly Deputy Director Controllers, sandwiched a mere Custom Controller, and asked him to do a job the overall Controller General of Custom ought to have done himself. SMH. |
Ago Palace Way? Wahala dey o! So, those mighty mansions in Ago, near canal are about to go down. They should go and collect back their money from the Osolo of Isolo, that sold most of the land to them. |
What of those people that sells "fufu" (akpu) wrapped in nylon? Do you know what they use to preserve that "fufu'"? Any fufu that was not pounded the normal way after boiling the cassava tubers, I am not eating. Lots of people are using killer agents to preserve their wares, endangering people's lives. |
I heard no commercial plane has landed at the airport built by Umahi since being commissioned by Buhari except private jets from politicians |
Many children in Nigeria do not know what it means to be a child. From one trauma to another; from one abuse to another; from one neglect to another, even from their supposedly parents or guardian. |
Curious and very suspicious question from the OP. |
These Northern bike guys could be deadly. I do everything to avoid them. There was time I had altercation with one, he threatened me that he would wait for me with his friends and stab me. He said he knows me and sees me all the time leaving for work early morning. Then, I used to leave my house around 4:30 in the morning to meet up with the staff bus. I didn't take the threat likely and I quietly made peace. For him to even reminded me that he usually knew my movements at that dangerous time in the morning made me had a rethink. Very devilish people. Early morning, you see them sleeping in front of people's shop and on top of their bikes. |
Rochas with his "C-Curve" leg |
This man jokes a lot!!! |
Rescue and no exchange of fire or description of the operation that lead to the Rescue? I trust the Lebanese.....they wouldn't even waste time before paying for the ransom. They cherish life so much. However, that boat captain needs to be investigated. This may be insider job. |
New oil producing countries are learning from Nigeria's mistake. Very soon, production from those countries will eclipse Nigeria as more investors moves in to discover more fields. I hope the Nigeria's indigenous companies acquiring the assets the IOCs abandoned are equal to the task of improving production. |
Camera, lights and technology have helped in reducing crimes and incidence of crimes. People are always cautious to do certain things where there are lights and CCTV. |
I am not a "white worshipper" but their humanity and compassionate nature is far better than what we see in our country and continent. You will be amazed at the care those refugees and migrants gets in Greece, Italy and Spain. Care that those migrants never got in their home countries. Their may be some hardliners within the security apparatuses of those EU countries, which is understandable but that doesn't take away the fact that EU in general has been more receptive and accommodating to migrants than other people. |
SMH!!!! Nigerians and religion One of the man's sticker that I normally see in people's shops and buses says, "If you monitor me, you will die". Nigerian pastors are too funny. They can use any format to hold people on the juggler. |
Are they doing us a favour? See how he was talking as if UAE is an eldarodo, that every Nigerian must go to . We should also place visa ban on them. They placed visa ban on Nigerians and we are begging them to lift it as if our lives depends on visiting UAE. |
I already knew the race of the convict before I got to see the face and I wasn't disappointed |
The impact of this war on Russia is enormous. Russia underestimated the resolve of the West to support Ukraine. US is the undisputed superpower. As long as they are the ones printing and controlling the dollar, forget it, they will keep dolling it out to whoever they want. As long as dollar is controlling the world trade, US has upper hand in any economic or military confrontation with Russia. I am sure Putin is tired of this war but doesn't know how to end it. Russia may not get back up to 20% of their frozen assets after the war. Their own companies are suffering as they can't trade with other countries as some companies in other countries are afraid of US sanctions |
Nigerian police always looks so unkempt. |
Not up to three people would eventually participate in the event. Others will be in their respective hotel rooms eating and drinking from morning till night. Nigeria and waste are inseparable. |
These two ladies just gone like that? Their parents must be in painful mourning, right now☹️ |
Anambra Amaka! No community would want to be carved out from Anambra into any state. It's a thing of pride to claim that you're from Anambra state. The community doesn't want to loose that bragging right. For them, to hell with the new state. ![]() |
uchman:It's better you go for masters in early childhood education or post graduate certificate in early childhood education or even a 2 year diploma in early childhood education. This will be nice if you are lady. People should be selective with course of study in Canada these days for better job prospects. I see lots of people going to study courses that are of no value after graduation or courses where the competition for jobs is stiff or where you have to compete for jobs with the locals. |
