Ttipsy:Because they voted for the administration, they shouldn't protest if things aren't going as promised? Are they not better than some people that are defending government in the midst of overwhelming anger? People should not be insulted because of the decision they made in the last election. The economy would still have been like this if any of the top three candidates had won. The foundation of the current economic predicament was laid under Buhari |
My love for Ofada stew and Ofe-akwu no be here o, yet, I want to run away from high trans-fat foods. ![]() |
The Indians are coming. By 2050, Indian companies would have bought over all the multinational companies in Nigeria and establish themselves as the biggest investors in Nigeria with strong influence. Indians, Chinese and the Lebanese are all taking positions in the Nigeria's corporate environment. I hope the Indians won't reduce the quality of Guinness or start doing satchet Guinness. They are experts in "satchetization" of consumer goods. |
Agadinaagwuofe:I agreed with you. He should have let go. How will his brothers see him? Definitely those guys are his nephews, which means he is a brother to their father. |
Agadinaagwuofe:Sometimes, you have to be strong and unapologetic with relatives in certain occasions. If you don't take time, they are the ones that will wreck you. It's very common within my community, where relatives have contributed to the collapse of once thriving business or individual's project |
Are they his nephews? They should have tried to settle with him out of court. Arthur Eze is not an ordinary Nigerian. He is a shrewd businessman and highly connected |
GreatOchuks:....and do what exactly? |
PDP should forget about power. They messed up their opportunity in 2023, despite Buharis aloofness in APC. I believed that, if PDP had won, Buhari would have gladly handed over to Atiku. But Atiku and his associates thought that they would have a walkover in the 2023 election. They should wait till 2031 yo try their luck because BAT is not letting go power in 2027. |
I wished my state, Anambra, was well planned. It would have rivalled any city in Africa in terms of high rise buildings. This Ogidi was a remote village in the 80s. But the rise of prosperous Onitsha as a home of business and enterprise in Anambra has grown uncontrollable that it has swallowed neighbouring towns like Oba, Nkpor, Obosi, Nkwelle and Ogidi. Even Asaba in Delta has benefited from the spill over from Onitsha. Anambra seems to be the most urbanised in Nigeria. Government should do well to provide good inner roads and create more access road. The people would take care of other infrastructural development. |
If this is true, the guy may be innocent. Just unfortunate that the girl died in his house. I have carried a lady in my car and she started convulsing or had an episode. It happened to her for like 10mins and she came back to life again, while I was trying to figure out the nearest hospital. Imagine if she had died in my car? |
It seems that both the EFCC and the Judiciary are cashing out from these yahoo boys. What kind of fine is this? 50k or 100k to be set free. |
I knew it was a matter of "when" and not "if", the bank will collapse. I hope they are ready to cope with the impending run on the bank by the customers. But I like the way CBN revoked the license with "immediate effect". CBN should take over the bank immediately, remove the current Management, dissolve the board and guarantee the continuity of the bank till a suitable buyer is found. |
"An enquiry into the causes of wealth of nations" by Adam Smith's , the father of modern economics, lies in Innovation, of which science and technology are the drivers of innovation. Innovative and productive countries will keep progressing and ushering in shared prosperity for its citizens while retrogressive countries will keep impoverishing their citizens. |
CountinBlessins:I totally disagreed with you. Nigerian Universities have no impact on quality and behaviour of its graduates. It depends on individual person. Nigerian universities, have seen, lost its glory in moulding people in character and in learning. It is what you make of yourself that will take you far in life. It is not about the Nigerian university that you attended. |
SMH.....Politicians and Pastors are the biggest sellers and marketers of "hope" in Nigeria. They have seen the hopelessness in Nigeria and in Nigerians , the reason why selling "hope" is a good business. Religion is indeed, the opium of the masses. |
They shouldn't disrupt my scheduled flight o. Labour should go and sort themselves out with the FG and leave ordinary Nigerians out. The so called minimum wage will affect only the civil servants, who are not up to 2% of the working population in Nigeria. Millions of people are working for a "one man" business , and seriously underpaid. Same with Millions of artisans working for themselves, who are not going to benefit on the minimum wage negotiation. Nigeria is not like the West, where minimum wage is uniform, across both public and private organisations and even "one man" owned - businesses. |
This was an opportunity for city and Pep to defend their title and they bottled it. City would have won this title if they had beaten Madrid at the semi finals |
They have offloaded 99.9% of their passengers in Njamene, Chad. Their own is that, the remaining passengers , who are Nigerians, should find their way to Abuja They will get one local aircraft to ferry them to Abuja or give them transport money to take a road transport from Njamene through maiduguri to Abuja |
If the opposition parties had teamed up, they would have dislodged the ruling ANC, going by the numbers. The same thing happened in Nigeria. The opposition failed to team up, to dislodge the ruling APC and their votes were fragmented |
EFCC should focus on politicians. This their method of raiding yahoo boys is subject to abuse. They should work more on intelligence gathering than this manual method. |
The name sef, " Amaewhule" . Amagi go soon "whuele". |
The truth is, most of these manufacturing companies are transitioning to costs effective model of business operations, which is importation. No more manufacturing. Just build a warehouse and get some middle men to act as distributors and agents. No permanent staff, less overhead, not much fixed assets. Just buying and selling like an Onitsha man. Very lucrative model of business. This is what government has turned companies and businesses into in Nigeria. I hope Nigerian brewery won't shut down production and start importing beers into the country. Producing something in this country is extremely costly , with the cost of power as the biggest hinderance to businesses |
People should stop using UK's education system as a route to Japa. The truth is, 99% of students are actually planning to stay over after their studies. Reason why Indians, Nigerians, Chinese and Bangladeshi people are in majority, because most of them are just economic migrants, with education as the easiest route to japa. The Universities in UK are selling immigration and not education. If the lady in question have letter, evidencing that her professor promised her funding before coming for the PHD program, she should tender it. Nobody sponsors himself or herself for a PHD program overseas. Ph.D abroad is very selective and Professors must take you as a student first, before the Registrars processes your admission. Moreover, funding covers only tuition and research expenses and not living expenses - this one that she is also complaining of inability to settle her accommodation. Did the professor promised to take care of her accommodation as well? I hope it is not format, as we Nigerians are never short of format to use once there is a removal order. |
Palestine would have been more developed and progressive if they had accepted Israeli authority from 1949. Trust me, Israel would have deployed their human capital to help develop Palestine. But since Palestinians sees Israelis as enemy, there won't be peace. It is better to live in peace and prosperity under Israeli occupation than to live in poverty and misery under Hamas rule. |
Lets give him one more year. The demands of being a president could be overwhelming. People should not just criticize him, but offer concrete advise. My main concern is his health. He doesn't look strong and energetic to superintend over huge demand of his office. That is why some of his aides would be messing around and not doing their jobs. I don't know why APC just ignored the Star boy, the former VP, Osibanjo. He would have fared better and manage the country better as a President. The truth is that, he was much liked by people across Nigeria than any of the contestants from LP or PDP or NNPP or APC. My advise to the President is that, he should work towards exchange rate stability, rein in inflation, improve security and power. |
The president should ignore this " jobber". This has been the Hallmark of former British PMs. While in office, they won't assist you on anything. But once they leave office and forms one NGO or join one international agency, they will be looking for developing countries to partner with, and milk them. Tony Blair, David Cameron, Gordon Brown, they are all the same. Looking for mumu countries to fund their NGOs and interests. Nigeria should not partner with him on any nonsense NGO or contribute a dime. He should go and meet Sunak or the British people to partner with them. By the way, is it just a former prime minister that the president and this large entourage received and hosted? It seems people are not busy in the presidency. I hope they won't fly this visit as an achievement. Tony Blair can't visit Nigeria without any " benefit-in-kind". |
vanbonattel:Very vital question. The man should have maintained his stand if he knew that there was a judgement restraining the Governor from removing him. Having vacated the palace, the chances of him returning is remote. |
Is it better than "bokku supermarket " bread? People don dey queue to buy that bread like shoprit bread. |
Another one even happened inward Marina this morning. Multiple collisions as you descend the bridge off Apagbon, involving a tanker loaded with compressed gas and four other vehicles. Thank God, all survived. |
finallybusy:That movie was the first erotic movie I watched. Nollywood was booming then and people were always anxious to see the next release. I watched the movie then with my sisters and it was so awkward watching that scene then. Honestly, It was shocking that the military was just aloof and unconcerned about the movie industry then. |
Try jam them in a supermarket. You will be wondering if this hard economy is not affecting them. The way they stuff their baskets and shopping trolley with groceries and consumables will shock you, especially those ones that comes to mall with their olosho girl friends. |
Some men could be careless and less observant. You can't carry your child in your hands, looked at the child, watched the child made her or his first steps, watched the child cried, laughed and exhibited certain traits without seeing some of your features or that of your family in that child. This only happens to men who are not involved in the growth of their children. |
