PoliticsRe: 1,005 Kwara Pensioners Die Over Unpaid Salaries by folks4luv(f): 11:28pm On Aug 07, 2016
Optimusshield:
This is so not true.
Not all news or article is written with the purest of hearts. At this age and century even the most ignorant of individuals weaves around some nonsense and feeds it to the public as news.

Stop the Blackmail, We Don't Owe Pensions: KWSG

The Kwara State government on Sunday clarified that it is not owing pensions, stressing that it is up to date with payment of salaries and entitlements to State workers and retirees. This clarification follows a media report which suggested that some pensioners in the State had died since April, 2015 as a result of unpaid pension allowances.

In a statement via Facebook, (www.facebook.com/kwaragovt) the government emphasized that local councils are responsible for the payment of allowances to the LG retirees referred to in the media report.

“Local government councils in the state, which receive separate allocations from the federal government, are responsible for the said pensioners and have varying degrees of staff and pension arrears,” the statement reads.

The statement noted that the councils have been unable to pay their workers and retirees regularly for the past few months due to the sustained drop in federal allocations accruing to them.

According to the statement, the nonpayment of salaries and pension is not peculiar to Local Government Councils in Kwara State as most LGs are facing similar challenges which is reflective of the current financial situation affecting the country.

The Statement, however, noted that the State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed is working with LG chairmen to resolve the salary and pension crisis at the LG level, including the recent release of N162m to augment allocation for the payment of July salaries, adding that the government was considering other strategies to assist them within its available resources.

The government therefore, called on pensioners and labour unions as well as the opposition to stop trying to blackmail the state government using the plight of the local government pensioners as this is misleading and diversionary.
I am really angry at d moment cos u sounded like one of d KWSG cronies on d social media, but next time u want to defend, you should do it more intelligent. the report up there is about local government pensioners not state, and you can continue to tell d world that it is d local government that is owning n not d state, even an intelligent sss2 government students know there is no true local government system in Nigeria cause the state controls the local govts n their resources.

I was able to visit your blog, pretty educative and informative articles too. But there were some areas I feel that you can improve on.
I guess you don't edit your writing before publishing... I was guilty of that but I've learnt never to be in a hurry when publishing an article to minimise errors.

While your articles are beautiful, there were some words that you could have removed without altering the content of your blog.
Remember that not everyone may be patient enough to read a long article, unless when it's unavoidably necessary.

Remember to always optimise your words so that you can rank higher with SEO.
What else? You choice of images and their position in your article matters a lot.
Finally, your font size was pretty small.. Lol... Not that I couldn't read through but remember that not everyone have the grace to read tiny letters. Recently I focus on making my work as bold as possible because if my followers can't read my article, the purpose of writing is defeated.
Again, I'm proud of you and I believe that we can work together...
Cheers

bypass government? how? have you thought about the real definition of government and why countries are being controlled by the government? ask urself why some companies re closing down in Nigeria n relocating to neighbouring countries. thank God for America, we want our country to be that great, but look deep into the country and tell me their government never provided enabling environment for private sector. China became the Asian tiger cause the government evolved thus encouraging people to contribute to the economy. I'll love to hear list of countries that flourished with an irresponsible government

Very sad indeed, and Pst Adeboye has chosen that path of Christ.

Many questions however abound.

Why should someone use megaphone for morning cry? As a Christian if you do that in front of my house at 5 am or 6 am it is either I get out of the house and drive you away or charge you to court for disturbing my sleep. If I am interested in listening to your preaching I will come to your church.

What is wrong is wrong. It is wrong to disturb people in the name of religion. This as much affects the moslems who use loud speakers for morning prayers.

People should be decent and respect others' right to peaceful sleep.
what about the noises from mosques that wake me up every morning? believe me, I wish all states will be like Lagos in controlling noise pollution cos I see no reason a churches or mosques should mount speakers outside there properties to disturb the whole neighborhood, but that is not the issue here.
if it is wrong to do morning cry with a megaphone, hacking her to death is surely not a way to correct her or her likes. her 'noise' was not the issue, but intolerance is.

I understand we need to contribute our individual quota but the fact still remain that the largest buck is on the table of the federal govt, as far as u are not as big or huge as dangote and co, the government will determine how far whatever business u are setting up will go, economy policies will determine ur pace and success rate. people should turn to agriculture right? good, let's talk about things that are needed to have a flourishing farm nd how the government controls and affects them.
tuta absoluta is wrecking havoc on tomatoes, price of fertilizers have gone up if not doubled. we may decide to put it in individuals, the truth sill remain, we need a smart government with sound economy policy.

I was born and lived my college days in Nigeria and I was once of your opinion until I live somewhere else. The system has to work for people can think straight and profess solutions and take the nation to greater height. A situation you don't know where your next meal is coming from is not a situation to think. A situation everyday you go to work seems like your last day is not a situation to think.
We need to sit down as a nation and talk about the basic. The economy and the national in general needs to be restructure into a more sustainable way.
God bless u real good for that point u made.
FamilyRe: Should I Marry This Man? by folks4luv(f): 10:55pm On Jul 29, 2016
AdaAda1331:
His family has been known to have issues, before and after the divorce. The support his family has for him is very conditional to what he can do for them. When the marriage topic came up, they were not pleased that he had made up his mind without their approval and that he had a tentative date of when he will be financially independent after graduation.

They did not agree with the tentative date and only see their option of 4 more years of dating as the only viable choice. Because of opposing views, he currently has no support from his family. They are known to take drastic moves to prove their point. He's okay with that and moving forward to graduating. This has nothing to do with me or my character. I know I'm still a work in progress but I do listen to counsel unlike his family that nothing else but their opinions matter. It's their family motto; they said it themselves.

The only reason I even included my career path is because that's what most Nigerians are usually focused on unfortunately to determine your worth. It's a good thing some of of you don't regard that as being the end all be all. Please take this into consideration before replying. I just need to know if I should follow my head or my heart. I know love itself cannot sustain a marriage.
I think you are just unlucky to be in d middle of a deep family squabbles, believe me you can't totally understand it all, at least not yet, n u can't play it either. was telling my mum neither she nor I can really understand what's up with my late dad's folks cos we werent there when they were growing, same applies to you. you are way to young to throw yourself into this kinda stress, you said u are 22?
my advice, slow down a little, talk to your man to take things easy n settle things with his family, at least for you, your man can't chose his family over u,no matter how much he loves u, if care is not taken, you will be seen as d outsider, the intruder. make compromises with them, listen to them and make out senses out of their 'rants'.
then focus on you, develop yourself, I say it again, you are way too young for this.

WebmastersRe: A Month And Two Weeks Into Blogging:- My Experience by folks4luv(f): 8:08am On Jul 29, 2016
brianblogmoney:
First Bro.

Nicely done on your part to create a blog.

It's a journey that teaches you a lot of lessons as you learn first hand what your doing right and what your doing wrong.

Like you I start a free WordPress blog and ran it for six months. http://palmpermtations..com

Then I switched it over to a domain. http://the-ahamefulas.com.

Why did I do that?

Not for the traffic, cos I was seeing between 5-8 visitors a day and a bounce rate of 82%

I switched because most people who came to the blog came for the information I offered.

Those 5-8 where constantly returning to the blog.

How did I know this?

I had a contact for where available for those who wanted to get in touch with me and I register with a mailer service to send them updates and new details and reply questions.

When the emails got to a hundred and I was actively engaging them frequently.

I knew I had something worth switching over to a domain for. So I went ahead and did that.

Cue today, where I have over five hundred emails and between 25-60 visitors a day.

Still not much, but when you have a bounce rate of 6% and average time on page at 4-11 minutes.

You know that your visitors are really interested in what your saying.

So what does all this mean?

I see you are a stats guy, just like me.

But you need to pay more attention to what those stats are telling you. Don't just look at the visitors but look at what the are looking at and where they are going.

This will tell you which of your content works and which doesn't.

As I said, I love free blogs like and WordPress. But it doesn't give you much in terms of tracking and monitoring your visitors activities on your site.

Also

Did you notice the way I wrote this.

Readable without making you feel the stress of content overload.

Do the same to all your posts and track your stats again, you should see some improvements.

If you can take the leap to get a domain and hosting plan, then you liked up Google analytics, search console and Bing webmaster tools to it(yes I said bing).

At least it will first make your site indexable by Google and Bing, which also helps improve site traffic by 100% I. E 5 before 10 after.

Then you can monitor what keywords people use to enter your blog and your position per per page for those keywords.

You can really improve your site visitor rates and traffic.

But it does take more than blogs and sharing.

Good luck Bro.

Oh and one more thing.

Do you spend anytime to do keywords research after you write each blog post.

Doing this will help you optimise your post for the best keywords that have high search volumes related to your posts.

Cos by doing so, you will know what people are actually searching regarding that post, plus the volume of people per month that search for that keyword.

Google "keyword planner tool" and sign in with your Google account and get started.
thanks for this, have gained a lot. but a quick question, is Google key word planner like Google analytics that is free?

See myopic thinking. What then is the grassroot problem of Nigeria? .. Name it and I will tell u corruption lead to it.. U think America will be as great as it is today if their leaders milk their treasury dry as it is bin done in Nigeria...
lemme give you a lil deep reasoning, look at d countries we all want Nigeria to be like n tell me how many aren't facing corruption problems. it's one thing to have resources, it is another thing to have good system that make transformation happen even when leaders are not credible, check through different scandals rocking America political scene, you will see corruption at different level, but the country is strong cause it have a system that make leaders work, not just do stuff, but do things that the people need per time. if Nigeria is not facing corruption prob, there will be other monsters, why? our system is poor, majority of citizens are not enlightened, so it is easy for politicians without directions to be at d helm of d affair.
I hate typing long responses on nairaland, but am doing that now cos who knows, you may be a leader some day.

LordofNairaland:
The problem with Nigeria is CORRUPTION. Reduce this, I watch this country become greater than US. We have the resources but with CORRUPTION, we can never be great.

Buhari is not a magician but he recognized the root cause of our problems. Reduce CORRUPTION drastically, and things will automatically fall in place.

GEJ was warned about this present crisis. He was warned in January, 2015. He was warned to fight CORRUPTION and Boko Haram with sincerity but he didn't. They sat together and shared money meant to dissipate Boko Haram.

There was warning that the global price of oil will crash. There were indications. The GEJ government was warned but they did nothing. They couldn't save for raining days. Money was flying around instead of been saved. And yet these thieves can look and talk about 2019. All these thieves and their supporters will not live to see the new Nigeria that is coming soon. Ogun will finish all of them (whether in APC or PDP or anywhere else). Anyone who stole money and is now opposing the fight against our common enemy (CORRUPTION) will soon face the wrath of Ogun.
POC corruption is not the only prob of Nigeria, solving corruption prob won't turn nigeria into a mecca of some sort overnight automatically
