When people hear mass comm, they think newscasters and journalists whereas it is way more than that. The question is, is your friend passionate about the media? Fellow Nigerians, following President Buhari's decision to reclaim all officially gazetted grazing reserves/routes, I decided to conduct my own findings as to where exactly these gazzeted cattle routes are located. What I found was rather interesting and I will present it here for the purpose of enlightening the public.

My research focused only on the gazzeted cattle routes as that was what PMB said he would reclaim.

Do you know that in the entire south, it is only Oyo state that has 2 gazzeted cattle routes/reserves? The rest don't have. See below the breakdown of the officially gazzeted cattle routes in Nigeria;

There are 140 gazetted grazing reserves (Adamawa—31; Bauchi—27; Borno—15; Gombe—4; Jigawa—2; Kaduna—2; Kebbi—1; Kogi—1; Kwara—1; Nasarawa— 7; Niger— 2; Plateau— 1; Sokoto— 8; Taraba—9; Yobe— 17; Zamafara— 6, FCT— 4 and Oyo— 2.

I am not very sure PMB is aware of this distribution. He may be aware that there are gazzeted grazing reserves, but if he now discovers that what is officially gazzeted does not even include almost the entire south, I am not sure he will still pursue the agenda of reclaiming these reserves.

I also found out that as far back as the time these reserves were created, the committee recommended the adoption of a more sedentary method of cattle rearing or ranching. In a paper written by S.A. Ingawa, C. Tarawali and R. von Kaufmann, ILCA Subhumid

It’s mind bugging that Nigeria is a very religious society but our practices outside these religious temples are quite the opposite what the books say. Our mission as believers is to live out the person of Christ, take action as he would. We have to Bible for us to learn about his person, and the Holy Spirit to teach us his character so we do not deviate. Sadly enough, the person of Jesus is absent in our society. Our society realistically reflects the person of Satan.

This question should never even come to life but it has to because people are more easily influenced by others than focus on biblical information.

Jesus shows us an exceptional character we must put up in the face of oppression. In fact, the apostles being led by the Holy Spirit continued this character by being obedient till death. The Bible has many apostles telling us that we must obey the government and explained that we must do so in reverence to God so that we might silent noise makers.

Sadly people do not care about Jesus whenever it’s time to lash out at the president or anyone in office, or engage in protest against lawful authority as contrary to biblical instructions. In fact, many religious leaders are in the habit of inciting the people against the government as a show of their spiritual identity. These things are all works of flesh according to Galatians 5:20.

Protest whether lawful or unlawful are a demonstration against lawful authority and it doesn’t in anyway represent Christ in us. While we may not endorse the behavior of people in office, it’s important that we see them as playing their part to help us actualize our destiny in Christ. Protest is a satanic nature and it should not be a part of a person who claims to follow Christ.

You are yet to answer the question raised. The govt increased pump price twice and announced it has removed subsidy. The minister of Finance said they have totally removed subsidy and there is no place for it in the budget. The question is, at what point did the govt decide to reintroduce the subsidy? Paying 120b monthly even though it was not reflected in the budget? The bone of contention is not the price but the many lies we are being fed with.

What you should be checking is the landing cost of fuel. Once that is higher than pump price or at a level that after adding other margins, it will be higher than pump price, then subsidy creeps in again. Best is to fully deregulate and allow market forces determine the price. Having refineries will help but will not take the issue away completely as those refineries need to operate with profitability in mind as they won't get crude for free or at a much reduced price
