Horlardorjah: Michlin was in haste to respond to egunmogaji bin his no 1 fan(who slapped me now). To be candid, what egun asked for was just to forestall reoccurrence of your door issue with him n not to get any detail of his job process as thought by michlin. Google can n will answer most of that perfectly than michlin will do self with tons of methods that michlin self doesn't know n that are better n standard ways Michlin, u need to be calming down bro. Those drumming for you won't be there forever n u will be left to yourself peradventure something comes up bigger which we pray will never happen forever to u or anyone. Cheers My position on the brouhaha. I was happy with his initial "calming down'' But When I saw the 'threat' from him, I gave up |

somehow: I believe the disadvantages of this kind of fenced in gate is more than the advantages, I may be wrong though. (looking at it from the security aspect).
Beautiful looking gate you've got there. I am equally interested in the disadvantages. I am beginning to jettison the idea of full 'caged' gate. Thanks. Edit Seen your above response. |

n3xt: I’m picking a very good lesson from this. Even though it is something I normally do but I think I’ll make it a “standard operating procedure” moving forward.
Here’s something I did in 2019 (sorry 2020) and the update pics sent to my client.
Just sharing for learning purpose.
______
Pics showing all the sides and add-ons of the gate during construction. I can testify to this in our ' plain and chequered' discussion. |

spyder880: The beacon should be left in its original position even if you are doing a setback for future development. Thank you very much. |

spyder880: Land beacons should be protected as much as possible during construction because they are a very good way of proving the actual size and dimensions of the land after the fence is done. I can dig around the land beacon, or remove it from the ground temporarily and replace it after blinding the foundation. Another thing I do is to preserve the markings on the beacon so the original writings of the surveyor will be visible anytime it needs to be seen. I sometimes use nylon sheets to place over the marked top to prevent wet cement spilling on the top of the beacon. Thank you very much for the detail explanations. I asked because 'you' often suggest set backs for future developments. In such situation, will the beacons be removed and placed in the new areas of the fence? Or they are left in the original spots?Thank you very much!! You=builders/contractors etc |

EgunMogaji2: A repeat of what I’ve said on here many times over the years. Some much to the chagrin of my “friends”.
1) Don’t rely on customers money to get a job done. We’ll never agree on this I know.
2) You don’t have to accept all jobs that comes across your desk. Interview clients and use your best judgment if it’s a good fit. Example: someone called me from Abia or Asaba and wants to do pay on delivery on a vehicle I’m selling. It’s against my company policy so I respectfully declined. It’s simple sturvz.
3) Don’t take on kids that you can’t satisfactorily complete. Either because of skill, experience or bandwidth. It’s okay to admit strength.
To close. On this very thread, artisans have been lured out of state and robbed by robbers pretending to be prospective home builders.
Hope yah all having a wonderful weekend. I think he is lucky. I was afraid frm the intro of his ordeal. |

TEQ365VENTURES: So I posted the plan of my project few weeks ago for correction which professionals in the house helped me do some corrections.
The foundation is up to DPC Now and we would start the backfilling by next week. It’s a dry land do I need to consider doing any plinth beam as this is not in the structural drawing.
I brought this here when the bricklayer mentioned to me I do the beam but when I asked the engineer he said we do not need it as it’s not accommodated in the structural. Should i be worried about anything? I have seen Oga Spyder using it in duplexes. But wait for experts to give their views. |

spyder880: The septic tank is where the waste water and effluent first arrives from the building, the compartment is plastered and is supposed to be water tight. The waste in this tank goes through bacterial degradation which will reduce its size and toxicity. As the waste gets more liquefied, it is expected to start flowing into the soak away section of the system through a pipe placed in the middle wall. The flow into the soakaway is mostly water, and this water is supposed to soak away into the surrounding soil from weep holes created to leak water away from this tank. This water will either evaporate, or travel downwards as ground water which has been filtered just like all the other dirty water going below the ground. Thanks for teaching us lessons |

I have a plot of land in Ibadan that i want to do 5 coaches of fencing on.
Does anyone have an idea of how much it could cost?
Thanks in advance. Your enquiries are not complete. What is the size of the land? The measurements differ. @N3XT, could Kobocity calculator help this person? |

Dijita: From my understanding of twinskenny explanation . This is not a broker or agency situation. This is twinskenny doing what a lot of us do here. Recommending people we think can do the job and the guy he recommend failed to performance. Unless there are other information not yet known I don't understand how twinskenny can be held responsible for this guys act. He was trying to help both the client and the borehole guy. Yoruba say help me carry luggage can't become the luggage owner (gba ran mi o ki di eleru) And the same Yoruba says Agbepo laja kodabi eni togbale ( Person wey steal palm oil from ceiling criminal case no reach person wey help him collect am from ground) I know @Twinskenny did it in good faith as he rightly said but the buck still stops "on his table.' @N3XT has helped me with sharp sand and the money went straight into his account and the material got delivered. It was @N3XT I was calling when the guy no gree show on time. Twinskenny has sold an item worth 100k upfront for me without even knowing me personally and his money wasn't paid until few days after as we both agreed. Based on my previous interaction and transaction with him, I would agree he has no intent of "commission' on the transaction. I would agree if na the balance go make the guy complete the job, twinskenny should volunteer the 50k and let the guy complete the job if indeed he is willing to do it. I believe the owner won't mind giving you some 'quids ' when the job is done. |
