DK Jaleel: first, what is the current status of NigComSat1 and 2??and they were financed by the church or they were launched here? |
Like a friend asked me after we had lot of discussions, 'now that you debunked me, what do you recommend?' That is a great question that does need a well-reasoned answer. Thread like this sometime make me think that arguing with theist is irrelevant as it wont stop them from been irrational. Am not driving at space mission though but I think we sometime need to walk the talk. People are tend to be moved through paths than words. |
Logicboy03: Let us settle the basic problem of poverty first..,,Poor governance, greediness and selfishness got the problem wrapped there. I believe we can if we determine to. Finance is not a prob. |
plaetton: Why don't you believe in Zeus? Please be honest with your answer.Or his ancestors were not colonized by the greek |
@ plaetton, lot of atheists here wont support you if they find out that you are supporting stuff like this. Even now everything is naturalistic explanation of African Spirituality, they wont agree on that with you. How are you going to deal with this? And from most of your post which I read, I am curious to know if you are a pantheist atheist? |
plaetton: I wish stuff like this was taught at all levels of learning in our educational system. The very time I read that Sam Harris embraced Buddhism, I questioned reason why he did such despite the myths and religious attachments wrapped around buddhism if truely Harris is an atheist. I visited is site where he explained that he is separating buddhism philosophy from religion dogmas. From there henceforth, I took interest in spiritualism. I did not go into buddhism because Ifa is more related to it. So when we have this at home, why should I embrace that of foreigners? I make lot of friends some who are priest is Santeria and Ifa at home. When they both explain this things to me, it make lot of sense....when you decipher the metaphoric and personified expression. Truth be told, there are some aspects that appear as myth to me but I believe it because I cant give genuine meaning to the phenomena. Example is Egungun (dead living ancestors)....am still confused about communication with them. But rather than call it a myth, I prefer to say I dont know. Our educational system is really killing things faster. This things are hardly studied in school compare to other religion philosophy. What sadden me most is that when I read replies from my AA friend and compare it with articles from santeria sites, I reason why we cant have something of that nature back home. They have modernized African spirituality and they light it up. What we at home are doing is battling Abrahamic dabble. So sadden. |
rationalmind: Okay, let's seeI am refering to subjective penning. I dont have business with information retrieval as both can be retrieved. rationalmind: That's not true. You said it yourself a certain king once known as sango was said to release fire from his mouth when angry. What am I to make of that? Not myth? Remember you even said yourslef you don't know if its true. How can I trust the oral traditions of people who make these kinds of claims?I heard it but have not verified that. Lets assume Sango festival is common where I am, a devotee might perform such skills too and will serve as evidence. And this doesn't make it a myth. 'I dont know if it truth' does not equates that the claim is wrong or a folklore. Maybe you need to define myth. rationalmind: Yes. But in any instance when they are kept, they are absolutely more reliable than any oral traditionDocuments cannot be destroyed or lost? I am not saying when kept or not. Do you remember that Julius Caesar had the great library at Alexandria in Egypt burnt down. This library contained just about everything the Greeks had committed to paper since the time of Alexander himself. So - books burnt, what we're left with are copies with mistakes. rationalmind: Except that there is no way to verify the person actually experienced it or is saying what he also heard.Historian writting a history is not a person pls. They work either together or differently. When it different, we have different accounts though will have much similarities. rationalmind: To cap everything off, I hope you do realise showing there are problems with written history too doesn't make the problems of oral traditions less obvious. Both have holes and are supposed to have same measures. I agree there are flaws in Oral tradition like memory, death and manipulations. Same applies with documented account but with different flaws like twisting, subjective penning and destruction of records. So far, I welcome both to survey reliability. Despite, Oral tradition have been good enough from the past of African information transmission. |
When will Africa be cleansed of this madness? |
rationalmind: These are what I find unreliable in itSo far that I agree with your post above, there are some things I wont agree with. Either written or non written account of history have the four holes you wrote there. - the person writing a history are subjective as they put their mind and findings down. They might not get whole premises. - the second point is fallacy. - Yes. Records can be destroyed too. And on another side, some maybe lost. - objectivity comes when you experience first hand an incidence. |
Ishilove: I wasn't condemning macof. I want to know why Sango is referred to as a god in Yoruba mythology. You and macof says he is pure energy or electricity, but Yoruba myth says he was a man-god married to Oya and Osun. I want to know why the discrepancyna hug be this? Ma still talk with my little strength. Let me start by saying Orisa does not best translate as God/god. In the sense that most words when translated lost their core meaning. A very good example is Ekuile translarted as welcome in english. Orisa mean selected consciousness (ori-consciousnes + sa-selected). We were told that Oba are deputy of Orisa (alase keji oosa). Do you notice that twin are Orisa too? (Orisa Ibeji) One's mother is Orisa You are your own Orisa So it will be very wrong if you classified Orisa as a supernatural beings with the omnis attribute who live behind wind. Everything in universe is conscious. Since spirituality is about connectedness, Orisa practise is understanding practically with connection and ability to devise natural forces for your quest. Lets now go down a little bit to Sango and Oya. Sango is electrical energy in scientific sense. Oya is cloud or wind. The marriage between them is not relating to human marriage at all. It refers to the unionism which brought about their manifestation. Meaning no cloud, no lightening and thunder. It is truth that there existed a king in the 4th century called Sango. He was made after 'Sango/jakuta' the energetic nature of sango because he was brilliant and can manipulate the energy in wars. The same way blacksmith are called Ogun among Yoruba people. Na hug go wake me next o. *faint* |
What are the mods doing? This thread is a trash |
Ishilove: When you wake up you will tell me.Why you no pull water on me? And hug things.....it wake the dead copse in me straight. But seriously, you need to speak on something you know comprehensively. You were trying to condemn macof but your whole statements against him were wrong. You need peace of mind to gain enlightenment-buddha. Iwa-pele ni mu ori eni han fun ni (calmness makes your consciousness appear before you) - Ifa. But you were quick to attack. Iya....smh 'needful. *faint again* |
rationalmind: I just went through your analysis again and responding to it will raise a whole new set of arguments which I'm already tired of.Oral tradition has been what our ancestors use for tracing history. Just show us what is not reliable there. We can come in then |
oyoski: A big lie.does d oba mean ile ife existed b4 d creature of adam and eve?4rm adam till date is less dan 10,000 yrs.if ile ife existed den,it mean it was destroyed wen satan was cast down.Brainwashed goon. The Mesopotamian civilization had been 20,000 years ago. Man evolved out of Africa 200,000 years ago Go and read some history and not foolish concorted lies in the bible. |
Bergs: Who cares about history hereThose that have Identity does. |
JudismphD: He must be high on something beyond weed. NDLEA should still comb every forest for new illicit leave,Truth hurts. You are lost primarily for forgetting your history. I cant say your parents didn't teach you how to respect others, you were adamant...so you got all the blame. |
Promhize: Yes now, abi shey satan was chased down from heaven.Fool. Oduduwa was not sent down from heaven. Oduduwa came from Igodomigodo (ancient name for Edo). He is the son of last Ogiso (meaning the king from the sky). Know your history instead of fooling around |
ontarian: We do not have documentary evidence in this part of the world, old enough to buttress anybody 's claim. The oldest we rely on is oral(story). There are archaeological evidences out there. |
Profkomolafe: He whosoever takes God 4 granted, God knows how to deal wit such people.... With due respect to ooni, REMEMBER HE IS THE BEGINING AND THE ENDING.A typical words of a religious clouded bi.got How is Jesus a God? Know your history. That is the message. |
Your ancestors got your back baba mi Ooni. No matter how small I am, I am supporting you on this. Gullibities, inferiority, greediness and selfishness has bowed us Africans including the Yorubas to the concorted lies and twisted fallacy of the europeans. It pains me to heart when religious mediocrity turn our people to animals because they have sold their identity out for relevance. Africans walk around like zombie without a origin and identical tag. A muslim brainwashed Arab slave co-joined our history with Arab concorted lies. The false knowledge religion laid to them is that oduduwa came from mecca which is pure lies. The christians on the other hand are quick to say they are children of Abraham and descended from Jew. How can a rational human forget his Origin and plunged toward lies? Ooni made me proud with his statement. Salute to Ori Ade. Oduduwa a gbe wa o. |
I sometime wonder if the people in this commission are human. I cant compare them with animal because it will be an insult to the animal kingdom. Even the fish in the sea cant think like this. You guys fined them because they provided poor services. Who are those suffering the end of the poor service? When did commission becomes consumer? This country. Ok |

why cant APC wait for the electoral battle? |
macof: How is this spirituality?lol. He meant 'Fanta drink contain water so it is definately water'. |
rationalmind: Lol, yeah, they are fun most especially when one is hungry and has no other choice. But when there is another choice, men, it no longer becomes fun.ha no. I still do cooking competition with my gal. We must both eat the food I cooked no matter how bad it is. Sometime self, the family go chop anything wey guy cook. You can tell the story after eating....i will just laugh at it. |
No let rice run enter your nose o. Those grains dey vex too sometimes. rationalmind: Here is one I can remember vividlyTrue I made a claim which you picked from the middle where it doesn't make a sense meanwhile I constructed my whole point on this thread with logical analysing of history, oral tradition and praise of Orisa Sango. If there is any how in what I put there, refute that rather than ignoring what is before you for the mockery of the literal surface. |
rationalmind: Anyway, away from all these, you and macof have to pay for making the rice I cooked tasteless. I forgot to put groundnut oil and the salt wasn't enough. I can barely even eat it.I will say big SORRY here too buddy for the insults. How I wish am there with you. We would have shared that kinda rice. I love them. Lol. I remember when I cooked with anointing oil. When money and vegetable oil don finish, I burst my celestial member friend and took away his anointing oil. Food like this are fun. Lol. Enjoy your meal mate |
rationalmind: Except that what you said doesn't fit into the analogy.Get me water does not equates that you should get me fanta. That is bottle of water...it is not a fanta drink. I am right with my statement. Spirituality is not religion...yes we have some spiritual contents in religion. But there are lot of differences. |
rationalmind: Yes, I will still mock him if I know the tree actually has nothing to do with the city. He is just attempting to re-interprete the tree to mean the cityHow do you know our interpretations were wrong? And do you refute us when we were explaining the symbols? Can you go on to the thread I created so that you renounce them. |
rationalmind: Read about the fallacy of false analogy.lol. And that makes them spirituality? This is water, water is also a content in fanta drink. Does that make water 'fanta drink'? Answer my questions. The analogy alone have exposed you. Lol |
rationalmind: Do you have problems following arguments. What I initially said about the creation was my literal interpretation. You referred me to a site and I told you there is nothing on it other than usage of big words to say nothing.macof did explain the symbols. I did too. You did not argue on the difference but only what to hold the literal surface. More like looking for an old man who got drunk during creation process. That is mockery, lies and dishonesty. Continue bending. rationalmind: I didn't fail to spot the strawmanTruth hurts. Losers do quit. |
Ishilove: Oops, I was half asleep when I typed that*faint* |
