Someone said we Ghanaians compare Accra to Nairobi. You are right and I will compare the two cities anyday because they both have their strengths and weaknesses but I have always made my arguement clear that Nairobi is slightly ahead of Accra.


And on this same platform I have rated Nairobi and Lagos ahead of Accra couple of times.

You saw the examples given by op, a land owner in Nsukka earned 25 million from his land while the one in Ibadan could only earn 650k. Automatically, the Nsukka man now has massive purchasing power unlike the Ibadan man. He could achieve a whole lot with that and change his life unlike the Ibadan man. Land being expensive doesn't discourage investors, otherwise no one would be investing in Lagos, Abuja or P.H. They would all be running to the North or parts of SW where land is dirtcheap, but that isn't happening. On the contrary, land being too cheap is an indication of low purchasing power and will discourage investors. There are many places in the SW urban centers without decent housing and low purchasing power is the cause of it. Spending millions to build modern flats when the locals can only pay 120,000 naira annual rent would be a bad investment. I hope you get the point now.
