femmaleye: Hello my people, I read earlier in the thread, about not using agent as much as possible for one's application. For me this is my first time and there are so much to know and note in the application process.
For instance, I have been on the search on getting an acceptance letter from Canadian DLI in Saskatchewan or Manitoba, which I have not gotten an headway. I studied Mech Engineering, and I am in search for a 2 years engineering related course or diploma in a Canadian DLI. How do I start up please? Your kind suggestions will be appreciated.
I also want to suggest that we possibly open a WhatsApp group page for more instant messaging. Thanks. Sorry, I am new here A bonafide student with a B.Eng qualification in Mechanical Engineering should go for a degree that is higher than his already completed degree which is a Master's degree or PGD depending on your undergraduate GPA. Please be properly guided that a two year ordinary diploma will dramatically decrease your chances of convincing a Visa officer that you're indeed a genuine applicant who will leave Canada after studies. In restropect to your suggestion about creating a WhatsApp group while this thread is continuously serving its purpose is totally not acceptable as this platform has been in existence for more than a decade and has tremendously changed a lot of students lives in a very positive way. As a consequence, you can always feel free to ask your questions here and it will be attended to by some of the knowlegable group members. It will end in praise. |

amobola: Hi all. On the issue of this new 2 stage application process, for a 2021 January applicant, can the applicant wait until the first stage is approved & medical requested before doing biometrics? In order words, would the application still be in progress without supplying the biometrics initially coz the applicant wants to book for both medicals & biometrics together in a single trip. The applicant in question should book for an appointment and enrol for your biometrics as early as possible. He mustn't wait until medicals is requested before going to the VAC to submit his fingerprints (biometrics). It will end in praise. |

Ikechi17: Good morning, please I am a graduate of public health and I am completing my nysc next month , I am confuse and scared on what to apply for because of visa rejection. I have 3 study program in mind for fall 2021 term . One a masters in public health , or a second degree in nursing as an accelerated program from a university or a diploma in practical nursing from a college . Please I need your advice . And I am considering school toward the Atlantic Canada territory and I lost my dad this year, could it affect my prof of sponsorship or visa application ? Please be advised that the minimum requirement for a master's admission in Canada is 2.1. If you had this grade during your undergraduate studies, a masters in public health would be your best bet in securing a study permit. You may seek admission in the below shortlisted schools. 1. University of Saskatchewan 2. Brock University 3. University of Western Ontario etc. I wish you the very best on your application. It will end in praise |

MadeMan01: Thank you @Frankrobbn1 What other stages can I expect and are next in line towards getting the study permit as the application progresses along the chain. How long could the process take? The visa officer is reviewing your ELIGIBILITY for study permit as well as the CBSA are currently running a background check on your file in order to ascertain that you won't be a threat to the citizens of Canada and her residents should your visa is granted by way of sharing information with other countries and scrutinizing your criminal records etc. Background checks is the time consuming stage of an immigration application to Canada, whilst Review of ELIGIBILITY can be completed in a matter of hours, days or weeks. In all, no one can tell how long your application process would take at the Nairobi Visa Office. At this present time, you should keep faith and exercise a good sense of optimism until the final decision is communicated to you. Again, you may request for your GCMS notes if your application is 10 weeks and above so as to obtain a clearer insight on the current status of your application. It will end in praise |

Am planning to apply for my Visa on Tuesday all needed documents is with me but I got mail this morning telling me the due date for my tuition fee for winter 2021 is July 23 2020. Can I still apply I still apply for the visa without paying for the tuition fees. It's highly advisable that you should pay for the tuition deposit required to secure your seat in the program. Failure to do so may warrant the admission office to revoke your admission and give your space to another candidate. Please contact the financial services of your intended school so you could make possible plans of completing the payment before submitting your application for a study permit/visa. I hope this information is helpful to your enquiry. It will end in praise. |

AbiodunMobi2025: Good evening all. My application got refused based on inability to demonstrate sufficient fund for my tuition and living expenses. My sponsor has a balance of 20m in the account I submitted. I don't actually know how to go about this. Please I need your support towards my next application I regret to hear your TRV was delayed on the basis of financial insufficiency. It is probably that your sponsor is not closely related to you (third party) and as such the visa officer is not convinced that you will have continued access to funds during the course of your studies in Canada without working to pay for your fees. It is important to note that improper documentations to establish proof of relationship with sponsor could also result to a Visa refusal on insufficient funds for a study permit application. Having said that, I would urge you to get your GCMS notes as soon as possible, so we can collaboratively evaluate the reasons behind the refusals and think outside of the box in order to bring up reasons that will facilitate the approval of your next application. Anamekele: She needs to get an immigration lawyer in Canada who will file the judicial review for her. Mine charged $5k but if the case ends in first stage she will pay $750 The first stage which is well known as the leave stage is when the lawyer from IRCC decides to settle and accept the settlement offer from the PA's immigration lawyer in Canada instead of going through the whole Federal Court process (Judicial Review). Settlement involves reaching out to the lawyer on the other side and presenting a strong case as early as possible. As part of the judicial review application the PA's immigration lawyer will submit several pages settlement proposal to the IRCC lawyer on the other side in order to secure settlement as early as possible. If IRCC lawyer on the other side agrees with the same position, they will offer to settle the case rather than spending the time, money and energy necessary to argue the case in Federal Court. Majority of cases like @daadlade1 settle out of court while another immigration officer will then be handed over the application to review and make a final decision. Above all, this most often ends as an approval. daalade1: @frankrobbn1 @Lekiboboe @rebeccausoro @Osemigho @JustMellow

In any case, we don't have to go back and forth on this. I know what I am saying. Just do all of us a favour and tone down the doubts. You've solidly made your point. The people that have been approved of their study permit applied long before the invention of the AIP. These set of applications was submitted to IRCC in Jan, Feb, March, and April. It was due to the travel restrictions of Canada, the visa officer didn't initiate a passport request. It was clearly stated on several GCMS notes I recently vetted. Consequently, my standpoints have never been contradictory as you perceive it and be advised that I'm not trying to put any doubtful conception on people's mind. You are correct that an AIP is not a Study Permit and I think all applicants know that. Every other thing you've said about the AIP is not accurate. They are simply informed guesses. dommakavelli: Frank, you shouldn't be making baseless speculations nor spread fears. Not every one that receives AIP would get SP. You're right about that. It's the same as been denied after medical. The question is, how often does that happen to Nigerians, and why? IRCC has made it clear that students do not have to start studying online because AIP does not guarantee SP. So, where is the trick? Let people make their choices instead of scaring them with erroneous speculations.
The Canadain immigration system is not flawless, but it is ridiculous to think IRCC would lure people into paying tuition because of the economy. If the government cares about $22 Billion, they will open the border so students can come, spend money and pay taxes in Canada.
I think the purpose of AIP is to save students from the stress of wasting another year without going to school and allowing schools to provide education to those students. It does not have anything to do with the government trying to save the economy. You've helped many people on this thread, and it's good that you are thinking. But you're mistaken on this one, and there's no shame in that.
Good luck I beg to disagree with you on the subject matter @dommakavelli. Interestingly, we have good amount of mental ability with different standpoints and mustn't agree from same perceptive. This makes us standout. Therefore, you may feel free to believe what you think as my post wasn't meant to entertain fears on anyone but rather to give an accurate data about the substantive purpose of the invention of the "AIP" and the possible outcome of the "AIP" should any student begin their classes without a final approval. Goodluck! It will end in praise. |

Eilenora: Hello @frankrobbn.
I did upfront medicals and submitted my appliction since July 14. Up till now my medicals has still not reflected despite several emails and web forms attaching the e medical slip. You said not to send any more of these so I am anxiously waiting for my CIC log in page to be updated. I already have AIP since August 5. Do I need to order GCMS notes for this as previously suggested by another moniker?
While researching, i read that during stage 2 of the approval process (having now done biometrics), they will check if there has been a change in your eligibilty from when your AIP was initially issued. So with the Naira appreciating against the dollar, hubby decided to liquidate all his investments and monies in Naira accounts, purchased dollars and kept in his dorm account. Now wondering if there will be a problem if they look into my proof of funds again in Stage 2 only to realise that there are no monies in the statements i submitted with my application (although research and enquiries again shows that they cant check past the last date of the statement submitted with your application hence they can never know your account balance as at today). My qstn is if I should be proactive in sending them a new bank statement of the dorm account reflecting the dollars purchased and deposited or I should wait until they ask for an updated statement? I read in previous page that a lot of times the Nigerian embassy here stil looks into proof of funds after the study permit has been issued and before PPR hence my qstn
Finally, can you kindly direct me to the link for how to secure admission for phd? this is not for me but for a friend
Many thanks
Can you also kindly advise Order for your GCMS note in two (2) weeks time to know the current status of your application since you've gotten an AIP and have already completed your biometrics enrollment. It is really not much of an issue if you hubby has transferred his funds from Naira to his dorm account. My instincts tells me that your application has gone pass the funds review (Bank statement verification). If the embassy eventually request for an updated statement from you, you can send the dollar account to them and provide a brief explanation as to the source of funds and/or why the transfer of funds to dollar. Above all, I wouldn't advise you to proactively send the dorm account when they (IRCC) haven't requested for it. It will end in praise. |

Also @frankrobbn1, what is it about this SEPTEMBER 15.
Cos lot's of school keep mentioning it, is it a deadline for FALL 2020 to get a decision? SEPTEMBER 15 as it's incessantly been announced by IRCC is the stipulated date when all study permit applications for the fall 2020 intake will come to a close and the visa officer will begin dishing out responses to international students. Any application submitted after this verified date will not be considered for the Approval-in-Principle starting fall 2020. Please be advised that it's not a deadline for FALL 2020 to get a decision. Also note that it is not every application that will meet up for the Fall 2020, some applicants will have to defer their admissions to the next available intake as IRCC will not be capable of processing the entire applications received by their office. It will end in praise. |

Lekiboboe: Actually this is like a test between IRCC & International students, and no one knows the final outcome of things even after getting AIP and both parties don't want to be on the loosing end
But something came to my mind based on a response of the international director of my school in Canada,
What if the IRCC are monitoring the students that will start online before they issue visas?
Cos it’s possible they may not issue any visa this early September & they are just Waiting to see evidence that students have started online classes before issuing visas.
He said that;
If you have applied for the Visa and have not received any decision as yet, you need to wait till September 15 for AIP (Stage One Visa Approval) to be issued.
If you receive an AIP by September 15, you need to then register immediately and start your program online as we are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue Stage Two Final Visa Approval. If you DO NOT receive any decision by September 15, you need to defer your intake to January 2021
To the bolded @everyone, what's your take on this? "We are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue State Two Final Visa Approval". From the excerpt it appears that the international director of your proposed school in Canada is NOT definite about the next steps to be taken by IRCC. I would suggest that you should wait until CIC news have been published this week, so you can be aware of the future action to take in regards to course registration. It will end in praise. |

Imagine $1k deducted tuition x 300k students who get refusal = $300M gotten from international students. Not to talk of those who paid full tuition & won’t get a dime because they didn’t apply for a refund within that specific time frame ?? It really amazes me how people view Canada and their immigration strategy as self righteous people. These are all tricks used in a very strategic manner yet professional way, albeit people are blinded folded to agree on it. Its only a matter of few days or weeks from now, IRCC will begin exhibiting what they have been cooking up for quite a long time. But that IRCC is tricking students to pay tuition and save the economy? who told you that nonsense. With all due respect Sir, my suggestions are not balderdash and my write-up was never published so it will make sense to you. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm not compelling anyone to believe. I don't know you guys view of Canada and why you can't read between the lines. Do you know that Canada have lost a great deal of revenue during the unforeseen period of COVID-19 pandemic? Do you know that international students weren't able to attend the Spring (May) intake due to the impact of the novel COVID-19 and had to defer their admissions? FYI: "International students were named as key drivers in economic and demographic growth, which are important to Canada’s economic recovery and long-term success".The above facts corroborate that International students are key drivers and contributes over $22 billion annually to the country's economy through the payment of their tuition fees. The authenticity of this information can be verified via this link : CANADA IMMIGRATION PLAN FOR FUTURE AFTER CORONAVIRUS. I still maintain my stance on this particular topic of "AIP letter", as a smart trick employed by IRCC to lure applicants to pay tuition for her economic recovery. As always, it will end in praise. |
