Paper route applicant will not receive a request to submit their passport. You will be informed via MyCIC account that your application has been approved and your processed passport is ready to be dispatched.

Hello chocs. Yes I have done my biometrics before (I have previously traveled to Canada) hence I didn’t get a biometric request, my application just says we are currently reviewing your eligibility and also background check processing.

The visa officer is reviewing whether you meet the requirements for a study permit to Canada which include your choice of program and proof of funds. Whilst, the CBSA are verifying if you have any criminal records in any country. Apparently, your application is still in process, further correspondence will be communicated to you soon. Keep faith alive.

Hi, so for my case I applied March 24, with biometrics from previous application and upfront medical, got AiP Aug 6, then got deferral letter from my college for Jan 2021 intake August too. You advice I send it to IRCC Kenya office immediately? If yes how?
Also could this be the reason I'm yet to get a BVL?

You're getting the request for medical report because you ticked you YES that you've lived in a designated country for consecutive six (6) months. Please tick NO, if you've not lived in any other country apart from Nigeria for more than six months. This column (request for medicals) will automatically be removed from your application.

Your application is 50/50 considering that you did an upfront medicals instead of the usual medical request. You can only be hopeful as we have seen timelines like this been refused on several occurrence after a BVL notification. Keep faith and remain positive.

So another question is if those that received BVL earlier this week have gotten passport request.

Are the visas affixed here in Nigeria or do the passports have to go to Canada?

How long before submitting your passport and receiving same back with visa affixed?

After a passport request has been initiated by the visa officer. The passports are being taken to Nairobi immigration office for visa stamps/issuance.

On a normal condition, you should receive your stamped visa passport delivered to you or at the VAC within 2-3 weeks.

1. MSc Statistics is not in demand in Canada, albeit this doesn't mean that she won't be able to get a job after studies.
2. The IRCC requirement is that applicant or sponsor must show proof of funds for the first year of study in Canada, which include the tuition and 10kcad living expenses. Accordingly, you should have adequate funds left to cater for yourself and the kids.
3. You're on the right track, apply for a SOWP later with the kids after the approval of her study permit.

It was the school that asked not the immigration for additional information since 2012....and I provided a letter from my mum’s company that I have been working with them and some it certification .i hope that’s okay.so I waiting for them to grant my application

Admission will always come for Undergraduate application once your WAEC result is good. You should be more concerned about convincing the immigration authorities (visa officer's) that you're in fact a genuine applicant who is ready to study in Canada considering the huge study gaps since you left high school. Your case is a very peculiar one and would require a well detailed explanation and professional certifications you've attained over the years to pull through.

My wife studied Statistics (Maths Stat) from a State Uni and graduated with 2.1 and about 6 years work experience as Statistical office in government parastata, can she apply for MSc Computer Science or IT related Masters. I want her to apply for the MSc while i join her through the SOWP

She can apply for MSc in Computer Science program in any of the Universities in Canada. However a MSc in Statistics will be more direct and wouldn't require much explanations to demonstrate a career progression for her. You can always join her once her application is successful.

You may have to explain to the immigration authorities what you've been doing since you left high school in 2012, your reason for not attaining a post secondary education in Nigeria? Why you think that you will be a good fit and be able to study if granted a study visa. Once you can account for your study gaps until this present stage in your career with cogent explanation and backed up evidence, Age will not count as a negative factor in analysing your ELIGIBILITY criteria to pursue an advanced education in Canada.

Good day All,

For reapplication do I have to attach the previous SOP and the new LOE ?. I was refused due to only financial establishment. Large deposits and low balances (GCMS note).
Tuition 8,250 + LE 10,000 + miscellaneous 5,000. Total = 23,250 CAD ( N 6,751,281.86)
I want to do cash deposit 7 million with buyer's name as narration . Thereby tagging this huge deposit to the sale of my land (documents attached in previous application).I estimated the land value at that amount in my previous SOP. I plan to leave this money in the account for one month before reapplying. I already have 5 million in my account since June. What are the documents I should attach in this new application?. Only the deed of conveyance between the buyer and I or with survey plan in my name or the buyer's name ?
Please I need an advise.

You will have to write a separate letter of explanation addressing the lump sum deposit that came into your account, the source of the funds and relevant documents to evidence that the accrued funds wasn't borrowed from a third party. Given that the origin of the funds came as a result of a sold landed property, you will have to attach the following documents.

1. A deed of assignment or deed of conveyance duly signed and notarized by a licensed attorney.
2. A land receipt.
3. Survey plan of the land.
4. If possible the valuation report of the said landed property and its address.

Spouse sponsorship for study visa application is regarded as a genuine proof of financial support because you will have 100% access to the funds in your spouse account. He/She can join you through the SOWP once you've gotten your visa.

He has 5m for living expenses in his personal account as well but for only 3 months as well

Your friend can apply with a three (3) months SOA provided that the statement is well managed with good inflow and outflow of cash.

For you to transfer from the UK to Canada, you must have a rational explanation and reasons to why you're transferring instead of completing your education in UK. If you can come up with convincing statement and arguments, you can give it a try while still pursuing your studies in UK. I would personally advice you finish up your education in UK and apply for a master's program in Canada.

This College don't offer Post Graduate Programs. It will be difficult to see anyone going to this school on this thread as chances of getting an approval from the immigration authorities is slim. I will recommend you check other ivy league schools.

I logged into my application and then wanted to see the details. Initially the status was showing submitted but the application page didn't load. I refreshed the page and then my status changed to "your application has been updated". I couldn't move past that page. Now I'm unable to login to the portal. Is anyone having the same issue?

This is called Ghost Update. It's an indication that your application is presently being looked into by an immigration officer. Besides, several applicants confirmed to have noticed the same changes on their applications. Be hopeful that your application is progressing.

Please I’m still a bit worried about my GCMS notes as I stated earlier.
I’m not sure what to think about the VOs note (it doesn’t seem like anything to me). Also the part where they said BIL expired, I’m not so sure what that means because I did my biometric and it was updated.
Please someone should explain this notes to me... there’s really no comments there.

Can you screenshot the second and three pages of the GCMS notes where the visa officer gave his final assessment on your application. A glimpse at the GCMS note shows that you've passed the ELIGIBILITY requirements. Personally, I would say your application is on the right track. The "BIL Expired" could have been entered in error by the program analyst, which will still be reviewed by a senior immigration officer before you will receive the final decision.

Please, I have not received response from IRCC as regards my study visa and my passport will expire in a months time and I want to get it renewed. Someone said I have to pay another visa fee because the new passport will have another number on it.
Is this true? Is there anything like payment of another visa fee?

It's not true, you don't need to pay for another visa fee after the renewal of your passport. Get your expired passport renewed and raise a CSE via IRCC webform with a copy of the new passport and it will be appended with your in process study permit application.

Is it in every application made that a BVL is issued? I already have a BVL obtained when I applied for a visitor visa. In my application for a student visa do I expect to get another BVL regardless of the fact that i didn’t do biometrics again and it has a duration of 10yrs.

You must certainly receive a BVL notification regardless of the fact that you didn't do biometrics in your current application. This notification comes whenever a decison has been reached on any temporary resident application to Canada.

please bro, which docs do you think he can add to avoid being judge with the formal application of the agent. the agent applied tourist visa for him ,in year 2017. I'm thinking that he should add affidavit and a letter from lawyer, what do you think pls cos if he is to request for gcms note , it will take a month to get the gcms note and he's applying in 3-5days time

I will advice you get his GCMS notes so as to be sure of the visa officer's concerns in his last TRV application. This will also enable you maintain some level of consistency in information in his current study permit application. Frankly speaking, I see no need for the rush in submitting his study permit application in 3-5 days. Take your time to Dot all i's and cross all T's.

hello bro, my friend said that school (university of Windsor) insisted he pays through CIBC website but he tried and I also tried it as well to make the tuition deposit but it wasn't successful with visa ATM card, he said his school mailed him that the winter semester is gonna be online but my question is that will he allow to travel if studypermit is granted? Cos he said he will be submitting her studypermit Application on Friday before he got this message today

It will be a herculean task paying 4KCAD with Naira Visa/Mastercard due to the monthly dollar $ limit on Nigerian ATM cards. I will advice you generate the payment details through the CIBC, take the details to your commercial bank and pay through FORM A. Again, it's possible to request for an extension from the U of Windsor, so that you can have enough time to complete the transaction.

On the IMM form; Room and Board = Living Expense abii??

If yes, then Pls what does the OTHERS box cover ??

ROOM AND BOARD means your Living Expenses and it should be filled as 10,000KCAD. Whilst, OTHERS are your miscellaneous expenses and flight itinerary. I advice prospective applicants to fill the OTHERS with 3KCAD or 4KCAD.

Ps... i have done my biometrics since because of my previous travel to canada, so no letter from them indicating i go for my biometrics

In view of the attachment, I can understand that your application is still at its preliminary level and currently being processed by an Assistant Case Analyst at the High Commission of Nairobi.
