Hello house, are there February paper route applicants who have received an update on their application yet?
Why would IRCC not provide update on application with them more than a month with them prior to the lockdown in March?

Countless webform and email to Nairobi
This question has been answered in the previous page IS IRCC STILL PROCESSING PAPER APPLICATIONS?. I would suggest you defer your admission to the next available term (winter 2021).

Hello NL.
Great work here.

An agent helped me with my first application. But I plan on reapplying. Do I need the login details of the former account or I can go ahead to open to a new one?
You don't need the login details, you can simply create a new one and begin your online application.

Hi Guys,
Is it advisable to opt for 2 years diploma program instead of 4 years university program for 17 yr old, considering diploma might be less expensive .
Any advice ??
The chances of getting a visa is higher with a bachelor's degree program than a 2 years diploma. When the applicant has gotten his visa, he can switch to the diploma program within Canada.

Thanks so much for your kind response, but how can they say such and still deny one visa, that's quite ridiculous , thanks so much. I think i will defer o to the next intake because, this year go rugged oo
Initially they said that applicants who haven't gotten an approval from IRCC are not eligible to enrol for online classes from their home country as it wouldn't count during their PGWP. And here comes a new update which contradicts their previous statement on registering for online classes for the fall semester 2020. It's very clear that IRCC are showing some kind of desperation and don't want to lose international students this fall 2020. As a consequence, they are implementing new measures in order to make sure that applicants will begin classes this fall semester so that the Government of Canada can gain revenue for the country's economic recovery and long-term success which was as a result of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

You may consider defering your admission to the next available intake or better still wait until your resumption date has elapsed before seeking for a deferment.

I hope this information helps.

No guarantees boss! IRCC are bringing up new updates in an effort to suit their economic interest. Think wisely before making any decision that will cost you massively.

Greetings to you all,

Reliable Information reaching me now has it that "Online courses started before study permit approval will count towards PGWP".... For more information on this topic you can read through the attached link CIC LATEST NEWS UPDATE FOR FALL-2020 ONLINE COURSES.

In my opinion, I think this update from IRCC is somewhat of a good news yet a very risky step to take in view of the fact that if things doesn't go to plan (in the case of a visa refusal), the applicant will end up losing funds tremendously to the school in Canada without a VISA. International students were named as key drivers in economic and demographic growth, which are important to Canada’s economic recovery and long-term success. Due to this fact, IRCC are taking drastic measures/changes so as to suit their economic interest. My honest suggestion is that you all should meticulously analyze the entire situation, and be very cautious of any decision you make. I will personally advise that you should secure your visa first before enrolling for any online classes from your home country!.

Thanks for your Swift response and encouragement. God bless you.

Have checked the two schools recommended but non of it offers Project Management or related course.

I will appreciate if anyone can as well recommend another schools with low tuition fee.
I don't think you can see any cheaper school that offer project management. You can check Conestoga College, I'm sure they do. Alternatively, a simple search on google can help you find one.

For those facing this issue, I think you may be able to bypass your agent to know your application status. I have seen people open a new account and link previous application. To do this, you will need UCI and or application number. So, if your agent gave you this, maybe for medical request or biometric invite, try and see if you can link it to a new GCKey.

All the best.
I think this strategy is only achievable for paper route applicants. I don't think its feasible for an applicant who submitted their application via the online route. Nonetheless, I am happy to welcome you back on this thread again, it's really been a while for over 3 years now. I really applaud your kind gesture for coming back here to assist others in achieving their Canadian dreams.

Good day Guru's in the house,
I graduated from OAU, Civil Engineering department, 2014 set with 2'2, i'm Coren registered with 6yrs working experience.

Am in process of applying to one of the colleges in Canada for Project Management Program, but the agent keep telling me my age is on the high side (34yrs) that it may affect my Visa approval. Can dis be true?

Also, I will appreciate any suggestions of schools with low tuition that offers PMP

Please kindly advise me on how I can go about it.
Once you can account for your study gaps until this present stage in your career with cogent explanation and back up evidence, Age will not count as a negative factor in analysing your admissibilty criteria to pursue an advanced education in Canada. As a matter of fact, there are numerous applicants I know that have secured their visas at the age of 42 and above. So kindly disregard what your agent has told you and begin your application for an admission into a DLI in Canada. As for schools with lower tuition for PGD/C programs, you can explore the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and Selkirk College at BC

Someone should help me. I have been a guest user of this thread and did my medicals today at IOM.

The nurse and doctor said my BP was very high. Although I didn't see the figure but they were visibly concerned. The doctor asked and I told her that my father is managing BP too. She said it may be a family thing. I wasn't referred to a cardiologist or asked to do any further test. I completed the medical exam. The doctor only told me to go to any hospital later on so that I can get the BP checked and managed.

My question now is: will this high BP affect the study permit approval? (The medical was requested, not upfront). Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Congratulations on completing your medicals. Please be advised that High BP will not have any negative impact on your application. I would strongly say you shouldn't be troubled about it. I'm of high optimism that you will pass your medicals as its not a serious illness/virus in the likes of HIV/Syphilis/Hepatitis B, C or D that could pose to be a danger to Canadians should your visa is granted.

Keep the hope alive and follow the instructions of the physician by consulting other hospitals for proper medical check ups.

Please how do I contact Nairobi Kenya visa office as I submitted my reapplication online March 24 and till date yet to receive an update, although I contacted them sometime ago and got the generic response. moreso my friend in Canada raised a webform or IRCC website and I got a mail from them July 23 saying:
" We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible."
This was the exact response they sent to several applicants after raising a CSE to Kenya immigration office. At this point, Its highly advisable that you should exercise a little more patience on sending them a message again. Your application has been received by IRCC and currently in process. More importantly, however, the delay is normal as almost every applicant on this thread are waiting for a decision to be reached on their respective applications.

FYI - attached is the official email address of Kenya, Visa Office nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca, should you want to contact them in advance.

IRCC has clearly stated that they will not reject any application that is in progress at any of their visa offices for non-compliance/awaiting documents on the part of the applicant. You may have exceeded the 90 days stipulated time frame that was given to submit your biometrics. Please be advised that IRCC will systematically extend the deadline with an additional 90 days in an effort to ensure that you can provide the pending information necessary for your application.

Hi guys, please does anyone know what this means, my application status has been on awaiting your action for the past month, but this morning my status changed to submitted , although eligibility and background is still under review and I haven’t gotten any message or mail.
When you login to your MyCIC account and notice your current status is saying "awaiting your action", it's probably that IRCC have requested for your biometrics or additional documents to continue the processing of your application. Check properly, your biometrics could have been the reason to such status on your application. In view of the foregoing, your application is still in process and for this reason, you need to exercise a little more patience.

I can understand your frame of mind after reading my post about your POF. Don't be troubled, It's very possible to send additional documents to IRCC after an application submission. Please raise a CSE by sending the proof of funds viaIRCC WEBFORM NAIRAOBI. In the mail, you should explain to the immigration authorities your reasons for sending an updated POF. Never to worry, the visa officer will update your application appropriately with the new information provided and a decison will be made based on what is available on your file.

Not just submitting a bank statements with your application, you also need to show proof as to the source of income in the SOA. Well, your agent will be in a better position to know what he submitted in your application to demonstrate those claims. Since you've submitted, you can't change anything, but can only hope for the best.

It will likely change to "We are processing your background checks" once the VO has reviewed and validated your medical results. Its absolutely nothing to be worried about boss!!. The current status of your application "Not Applicable" - (NA1) might not change for a while until the VO responsible for your application has received the results of your medicals. When this happens, it will at once move to "We are processing your background checks". Also be advised that you may not see any new updates on your application due to your distant start date. This is normal as IRCC primary focus at this time is for applicants whose start date is fall semester 2020.

Documents can be BLUR and still be readable by the visa officer. To be honest with you, there are applicants I know who bothered themselves about submitting blur documents to IRCC but later got their VISA approved. Once the documents are clear to an extent, I don't think it's worth being worried about. Please can you confirm when you submitted this application and if IRCC has at any point requested for any additional documents from you during the course of processing your visa?

Background check: Not Applicable (NA1) - can only be seen once you submit an application to IRCC and receive an acknowledgement email. Sometimes as on a very rare phenomenon this status will generally not change until your medical results are reviewed and validated.

Does it mean if I don't have a rich family member I can't use a friend or colleague as a sponsor. If I can pls what should they provide?

These may have been asked in the past pls pardon me because I could not locate it.
Anyone can sponsor your studies to Canada. Nonetheless, the visa officer is more concerned about you having full access to the funds presented in your application not just making claims without valid evidence. In this case, your traditional ruler should provide documents to show his source of wealth and stipends/allocations from the state government of Nigeria. He might also explain to the visa officer that this sponsorship is inform of scholarship programs which are usually offered to the indigenous people of their community to enable attain a foreign education and return home to better their people and the locality at large. Having said that, your TR should provide the following documents;

1. A notarized Letter of sponsorship explaining why a scholarship is conferred on you, their intention of sponsoring your education and what the community stands to gain as a result of this sponsorship.
2. Allocation/stipends from the state government.
3. Statement of account.
4. Pictures of your TR and you to show connection.
5. Any related business documents of the TR

Hello everyone, I recently completed and submitted my study permit application online. But I'm still not sure if I did enough for proof of funds. I submitted the statement of account of my sponsor, which has about 3500CAD in it, along with proof of employment, some land documents and also a letter from his place of work that shows he is entitled to a loan. Is this enough, my tuition for a year is about 14,400CAD excluding living expenses. I'll be glad if someone with experience on this, can help me with information.
Did I hear you say you submitted only a bank statement with an equivalent closing balance of 3,500CAD with your application? Whilst, your program cost 14,400CAD. Why will you submit such an empty application for the visa officer to reject you?. That's not an ideal step by you!. Please be advised that IRCC requires that sponsor must show proof of funds to cover for the first academic year, this includes the tuition and living expenses of the applicant. More importantly, the living expenses has to be 10,000CAD. In light of this, your sponsor hasn't demonstrated sufficient proof of financial support to sponsor your stay in Canada without recourse to public funds. To this end, your application is at higher risk of getting a refusal.

In restropect to my post about Background Checks and ELIGIBILITY review, it doesn't take the visa officer a long time to pass an applicant's ELIGIBILITY. As a matter of fact the time consuming stage of every immigration process to Canada is the Background Check, which consists of the criminality and security checks. ELIGIBILITY review can be completed within the space of hours, days or weeks depending on the workload of the visa officer responsible for the application. Mind you, IRCC are becoming faster for study visa processing so that international students can register for their fall 2020 courses and begin studies from their home country. International students were named as key drivers in economic and demographic growth, which are important to Canada’s economic recovery and long-term success. Thus why Canada can't allow the novel COVID-19 pandemic affect one of the major contributor of her economy.

It's a good progression on your application. At this point, all you need to do is to raise a CSE via IRCC webform and update them with your E-medical slip. The responsible immigration case analyst will update your file accordingly.
