@frankrobbn1

What does this signify in a Profile...

We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements

We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information

Note: No Upfront Medical done

Thanks
The above signifies that your application is still in progress and in queue for review by the senior immigration officer at the visa office responsible for your application.

The below information explains what is currently been done by the visa office on your application.

BACKGROUND CHECK;

WE ARE PROCESSING YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK simply implies that the visa officer is currently matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are going to be a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list. All things being equal, It's at this stage your criminality will be automatically be declared as passed, this I have carefully observed and can be attesed in several GCMS notes I have reviewed.

Please be informed that the CBSA are responsible for background checks in any immigration visa processing to Canada and not the Visa Officers at the High Commission of Canada. The CBSA gather information from applicant's biometrics (finger prints and capture) details and transfer the results of the checks to the responsible immigration officer to update it on the applicant's GCMS database. The CBSA department are also accountable for sharing information with other countries (US, UK, Australia, New Zealand) which Canada have information-sharing agreement.

REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY;

WE ARE REVIEWING WHETHER YOU MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: is the final check and the final stage of your application at the Visa Office. At this point, all of the components of your application are assessed by IRCC. The visa officer will be checking if you actually QUALIFY for a study permit and if your application meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation's (IRPR) for visa issuance. During the eligibility review, the Visa officer will then request for medical check ups as needed by the Visa Office to complete your application.

Most times, it is the Review of Eligibility stage that most applicants fail to meet because their applications and conditions does not meet the three (3) core requirements of the IRCC Act for study permit issuance. Those requirements are namely;

1-) Financial Sufficiency to cover your tuition, living expenses and transportation to Canada without working to pay your fees.
2-) Course Correlation and failure to convince the visa officer that the primary intention of travelling to Canada is to study (Purpose of Visit).
3-) Family ties in home country that can motivate your return home after studies.

Other checks are just standard procedure for IRCC and can be completed within hours, days or weeks as the case maybe.

After successful review of applicant's application entirety and considering that there were no serious issues in the medical examination, mispresentation, and security to ensure that applicant will not be a danger to Canadians should a study permit be approved, the Visa Officer will proceed to requesting for your passport for visa stamps.

might it be that the hospital is yet to upload my result?
Please help
Thank you everyone for the messages,God bless us all
I was correct that you will receive a MEDICAL REQUEST shortly as that's the modus operandi of IRCC whenever it start reading "WE ARE REVIEWING THE RESULTS OF YOUR MEDICAL EXAM". In view of the fact that you've already undergone an upfront medical examination. Kindly raise a CSE via IRCC webform and inform the visa officer about the upfront medical by attaching the E-medical slip that was issued to you by the panel Physician. IRCC will automatically link and upload your medical results using the UMEI code on the slip to your GCMS database.

I submitted July 16 and yes I am for fall 2020

I haven’t done biometrics but I did upfront medicals and also my application status still shows that my eligibility and background check is still processing

I have attached a screenshot of my application status
Once it starts reading WE ARE REVIEWING YOUR MEDICAL EXAM and review of ELIGIBILITY are both running concurrently, you will definitely receive a medical request shortly.

Hello house, please attend to my questions . I would like to know if it's mandatory to open a dormicilary account for my sister and transfer her tuition fees there? or should just present the sponsor statement of account as prove of Available funds for her tuition?
my next question is that her sponsor(my hubby) said he doesn't have any money in his Salary account but has up to 17M in his savings account, please does he need to submit an empty salary account or he should just submit his savings account with his payslip and employment letter as prove of employment??
furthermore, my sister has already gotten admission here in Nigeria , do we need to include her admission letter as evidence of what she has been doing after SSCE?
my last question is that how do we proof the relationship between my younger sister and my husband because they do not bear the same surname? @justwise , frank, lekiboboe, wendiduel and other guru in the house. Thanks and remain blessed
Welcome to the thread, I hope you will find your stay here very educating and rewarding.

Your husband being the main sponsor of your younger sister's study visa application is considered as a third party (brother-in-law) sponsorship. To this end, he will have to pay her tuition fees directly from his account to demonstrate the provenance of continued availability of funds during the course of her studies in Canada. Having said that, sponsor (brother-in-law) should transfer the equivalent of her first year living expenses ($10,000CAD) into her domicilary account to show that funds are already in convertible currency and will be readily accessible by the PA (principal applicant).

In view that sponsor (brother-in-law) has higher ratio of funds in his savings account, he doesn't need to submit an empty salary account statement. His personal savings statement of 17M should suffice to cover for the entire first year expenses in Canada without working to pay her fees. Additional documents to prove his source of wealth at his current place of employment must also be submitted alongside the application. These documents include the following,

1. Employment letter,
2. Introductory letter,
3. Promotion letter,
4. Salary increment letter,
5. Pay stubs covering 4-6 months period etc.

In terms of covering what the principal applicant (PA) has been doing since she left the high school (study gaps). Personally, I wouldn't advise you to declare her uncompleted studies here in Nigeria. This is merely because the visa officer will assume that she is a potential emigrant and as such using study permit as a means to facilitate relocation to Canada rather than educational advancement. Consequently, my advise is that she should provide proof of some of the online courses or trainings she has been doing until this moment in preparation for her studies in Canada. You can also state that she has been involved in one or more volunteer activities/projects thereby providing reference letters to substantiate your claims to be authentic.

The best and feasible way you can show proof of relationship between your husband and your sister is to get the following documents.

1. Your Marriage Certificate (showing that you once shared the same name with your sister prior to when you got married to your husband)
2. Family/Wedding pictures (Where your husband, your sister and yourself were present)
3. Family tree diagram (provide a diagram illustration showing brief description on how your sister is connected to your husband (her brother-in-law).
4. Bank statements (Showing proof of history or ongoing financial support your husband has been giving to her in the past or present).
5. WhatsApp messages (showing their chats and discussions about her plans to further her studies in Canada.) Etc.

I hope you will find this information satisfactory to your enquiry. Should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here.

Boss @Frankrobbn1 please can you please respond to my challenge here please

Dear Friends,

Good Evening, I hope we are all keeping safe are surviving in Nigeria?

Please I need your help in view of the latest update from IRCC on the two-stage study permit application. I want to detail my financial challenge as well as a breakdown of my sources of finance so that I can get some inputs from some of you as regards to my chances of getting a study permit.

I work with an international church organization based here in Nigeria with several businesses, academic institutions as well as churches scattered all over the country and some few countries abroad.

I spoke to an executive member of my organization and he has agreed that the organization would write me a sponsorship letter and release all associated documents because of my study permit application. Usually, the organization issues you with a study leave with pay and expect you to come back man continue work or you are issued a study leave without pay and you can come back if there is an opening for you.

In my own case, I would only be supported with at least N500,000 and the sponsorship letter and other documents with bank statement of at least 500 million. Secondly, one of my bosses is the country director and co-founder of an international organization based in the UK. I also want to use him as a sponsor and the organization’s documents and financial details will also be issued to me.

On my part I have about 2 Million Naira in my account, after tuition fee payment. Order financial documents that I have in my possession are my investment with a mortgage Department of my organization Which is about 1,000,000, my pension Savings which is about 1.2 million as well as my investment of about 500,000 and this funds can only be accessed when I resign.

Friends these are all I have as regards to my finance and sponsorship. And I intend to apply for the preliminary Study Permit for my program in fall 2020 which is online. Please I want you to know that I have already accepted the admission offer and have also gone ahead to enrol for my courses which does not require me paying the tuition yet.

Please what are your thoughts on my current situation?

NB: The name of my school is Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
Tuition Fee: 1946.94 + other Payments = 2748.12
Please defer your admission to January 2021. The current processing times is 22 weeks and I don't think you can meet up for the fall semester 2020. Even though your school doesn't require a deposit until the first day to start of classes, I would advise that your sponsor (the organization) should transfer the entire funds required for your first year of studies into your account. This is to prove that you will have every access to the funds provided and wouldn't purse to be a burden to the Government of Canada.

Note: Your chances of getting approval with company sponsorship is very slim.

I need your counsel on this decision.

I have two admissions in two different continents. I prefer Canada over Germany. I have Germany admission for winter 2020(October) and Canada for Winter 2021(January).

Do you think I should talk about my Germany admission in my Statement of Purpose or I should just leave it out? Do you think that talking about the Germany admission will increase my study purpose credibility?

I am writing my statement of purpose. What do you think?

Thank you
If you seek my good working knowledge in this process. I think it would be reasonable if you talk about your Germany admission in your SOP. My reasons based on this suggestion is that, it will ring a bell into the Visa Officer's discretion in assessing your immigration file that Canada as a country is not your only option of advancing your personal and career development.

I think in the past threads, a successful applicant once shared his TRV success story while sighting that he mentioned his acceptance from a University in Ireland and US as a back up plan for his studies abroad. Consequently, I will advise that you should state it clearly in your SOP as Germany is also a good choice.

You shouldn't delude yourself about what people may tell you that it might dramatically reduce your chances. Oftentimes, prospective applicants do the same thing on this platform with no one bringing up new strategies and ideas. Thus leading to high increase in number of refusals from IRCC. I am acutely aware that there is no automatic no-brainer formula that works for IRCC. So present your case in a logical way that the visa officer will have no reason to refuse your application.

I hope this information helps in your application.

Thanks for this information. I thought upfront medical exams was no longer required (i.e you have to be asked to carry out one before you do). Whats the process for doing this at Qlife. Is there a link to book an appointment?
When invited to carry out a medical examination by an Immigration Officer at the Canadian embassy, it's no longer an upfront medicals. In the op case, he has submitted his application and now decides to undergo a medical exam. So an upfront medical is applicable in his application.

You can book for an appointment by contacting the Q-LIFE hospital. Please check out the DETAILS OF Q-LIFE PANEL PHYSICIANS by selecting Nigeria as your current country of residence.

4. what’s the cost of doing medical at Q-life,how do I contact them and how long does it take for the result to be out?
5) What do they test for in medical?

Kindly help please.
1. You can proceed to undergo a medical exam after you have submitted a study permit application.

2. Once you have undergone the medical tests, you can send across the E-medical slip via - IRCC WEBFORM NAIRAOBI.

3. According to IRCC, a medical result is valid for a year (12 months).

4. Q-Life charges 35k for an adult from the age of 18 and above. It takes 5 working days for your medical records to be transferred to IRCC GCMS Database.

5. The medical exams are generally confined to a standard physical exam, including blood tests (HIV, syphilis), urine tests, and x-rays, prior medical records and the individual's mental state are also examined.

Hello,

Many thanks for your suggestion.

So I noticed the following grounds where one can raise a CSE:

You have submitted an application at a visa office abroad.
The information you seek is not available on E-cas.
Your application has exceeded normal processing times. We will not respond to your enquiry if the application is within normal processing times. Information on processing times.
You wish to report important changes regarding your application, such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces, adoptions, changes in address, changes in employment, acquisition of a new educational credential, results of an approved language test.

Uploading these documents do not particularly fit under one of the grounds. Can I upload all the same without it counting against me in my application? Cos I have read in previous posts that those Nairobi people can be vindictive.
You can upload your hubby's proof of business registration certificate via webform if you didn't include one in your application. It doesn't affect your application negatively either it will help present your case in a better way of not been rejected based on insufficient documents.

I hope this information helps.

Hello everyone I've read alot on this thread but needs clarification on these:

1. What if the sponsor is not in Nigeria, can he/she provide bank statement of the country of residence?

2. What do you consider a good closing balance in sponsor's account in $ ?

3. I made few calls and was told Visa offices will be closed till 1st September. I don't want to believe that though. Please anybody with a different info?
1. Sponsor can provide his/her SOA irrespective of their country of residence. However if the SOA is not written in English, you need to get a licenced translator to provide the information in English or French.

2. Sponsor should have sufficient funds that will cover for the first year of your studies in Canada and demonstrate his/her ability to finance subsequent year of study.

3. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are still accepting and processing applications. IRCC has stated that it will not refuse applications for non-compliance and it will continue to process applications that are in progress at its case processing centres in Canada and around the world. The only delay you may face at the moment is enrolling for your biometrics as VFS is temporarily locked down.

CBSA - Canada Border Services Agency is a federal law enforcement agency that is responsible for border control, immigration enforcement, and customs services in Canada. They are also responsible for background checks in any immigration visa processing to Canada. The gather information from applicant's biometrics (finger prints and capture) details which they transfer the results to the responsible immigration officer to update it on the applicant's profile. The CBSA department are also accountable for sharing information with other countries (US, UK, Australia, New Zealand) which Canada have information-sharing agreement.

What if a sch. says that

As things stand today, you are permitted to travel to Canada for classes beginning in the Fall 2020 semester if:

-You have a valid study permit that was issued before March 18, 2020
-Your program requires hands-on learning (labs) that can only be completed on campus

If your study permit was issued before March 18, 2020, but your program does not require hands-on learning on campus for the Fall 2020 semester, we are requesting that you remain in your home country to begin your studies.

If your study permit was issued to you after March 18, 2020, you are not yet permitted to travel to Canada. Your studies will begin in your home country

NB: And this program is not available for deferment to other intake

The question is :
What if an applicant's program is strictly "On-Campus learning classes (lab components)" Option, with "No Virtual Learning Option" , but haven't gotten a decision yet as regards Canada Study Visa,
Is he/she permitted to travel once he/she gets his/her Canada Study Visa?

If NO,
What do you suggest for such applicant ?

Thanks...
The school has already made it crystal clear following IRCC instructions/updates about applicants who can enter to and/from Canada for studies at this COVID-19 period. In a situation like this, the applicant should defer to Fall 2021 considering that the program is not available for closer intake and secure his/her VISA before travelling to Canada.

It will end in praise.

I asked my sch to defer my admission to winter, dey replied that my program is filled up, so d only option left is spring 2021, don't know if I shld go ahead with dem or stick with my fall admission, I did paper route application though
IRCC has clearly announced that they will not be processing any paper applications until further notice. Please defer your admission to Spring 2021 and send across the updated LOA via IRCC Webform.
