HealthMonitor Your Children Against Drug Abuse, NDLEA Urges Parents by FullBlastLight(op): 9:07pm On Apr 24, 2022
Monitor your children against drug abuse, NDLEA urges parents

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Enugu State Command, has urged parents to closely monitor the activities of their children to stem the tide of illicit drug abuse in the society.

NDLEA’s Assistant State Commander, Drug Demand Reduction Department, Mr Adjai Eyiuche, stated this during the Mothering Sunday celebration at St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Enugu on Sunday.

Eyiuche, who addressed the worshippers during the advocacy visit, said that the appeal followed the high incidence of drug abuse and production among young people in the state.

He said that the most abused illicit drug in the state was crystal meth, popularly called ‘meth’ in Igbo language.

The NDLEA chief said that the state ranked second in illicit drug production and that it had major clandestine laboratories where crystal meth was produced in the South-East zone.

He said that three of such laboratories in Udi, Nkanu West and Trans-Ekulu were recently busted and destroyed by operatives of the command.

“We are here to address you because of the ravaging effects of crystal meth which is destroying our youths and families,” he said.

Eyiuche said that the church had a special role to play in the war against drug abuse, adding that the vision of the agency was to have a drug-free society.

Also, the State Commander of NDLEA, Mr Anietie Bassey, said that the enormity of illegal drug and substance abuse in the state had made it necessary to expand their scope of sensitisation.

Bassey said that the command had, before now, concentrated its sensitisation and advocacy on urban areas of the state.

“It is now very important to take the sensitisation to rural areas and the suburbs because the manufacturing and abuse of illicit drugs are endemic there.

“These illicit drugs and substances are produced in clandestine laboratories and we are getting intelligence,” he said.

The state commander said that the command had been destroying such laboratories immediately they were discovered.

Bassey called on residents of the state to volunteer useful information that would enable the command track such clandestine laboratories with a view to destroying them and arresting the operators.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Assistant Commander of Narcotics, Media and Advocacy of the command, Mrs Callista Mmeka, was honoured by Catholic Women Organisation with the title: ‘Friend of Mary’ during the event.

RomanceDon’t Marry Anyone In This Category Of Men Or Women by FullBlastLight(op):
Don’t Marry Anyone In This Category Of Men Or Women.

Behind every successful man, there is a woman. No doubt this is well thought through a statement. Just like a lady need to be very careful before walking down the aisle with the man she loves, the same also applies to the man.

Your choice of a spouse will greatly impact your success and growth in life. This will cut across every area of a man’s life and maybe the sole difference between failure and success.

Below are some key points that will guide you before you choose any man or woman:

1) Don’t Marry Someone That Can Not Bring Out The Best In You:

Some think the way to motivate is to tear down. it’s not good for a man to be alone, that’s the bible line that led to the creation of a woman.

Maximizing each other’s potentials is the most critical justification for marriage. You will get enough discouragement out there; you can’t afford a woman whose words and action reduce your ability to do something great.

Some men may actually be driven by the need to prove their pessimistic wife wrong, that kind of growth will not be beneficial to the marriage in the long term.

2) Don’t Marry Someone That Can Not Respect You:

Respect is reciprocal. A Man is respected as the head in marriage, outside of this, we all need to be respected. This is not intended to be a master or servant or dictatorial kind of relationship or marriage.

However, respect is needed for any marriage or relationship to be enjoyed. Two people driving a car at the same time with one steering wheel is a sure sign for disaster even if they are both great drivers.

The welcome rise in woman empowerment has led to debates around gender equality and feminism. While I am a strong advocate of gender equality, taking the concept too far in a marriage creates needless tension between couples.

I will suggest you stay away from a lady who is extreme in her views of equality

3) Don’t Marry Someone Who Doesn’t Think You Are Big Enough For Marriage:

We all have met someone we admire for their accomplishments. While it’s important that you continually strive to be the best of you, it’s significant you have the support of a woman who identifies your strength and continually validates you.

This singular action will drive the most complacent of a man. Your wife will sure meet other men with admirable accomplishments, do not stay with a woman who lacks the discretion in the way she hypes them around you or benchmarks you with them. You need space to grow at your own pace.

4) Don’t Marry Someone That Still Holds On To Her Past Relationship Life. (Abuse, Divorce On Her Side, Heartbreaks):

You can’t pay the price for the sins of others. It’s not your fault that she had an unfortunate past relationship or marriage.

If she does not want to drop the baggage and face new beginning with you then give a chance before your marriage with her will be strewn.

5) Financially Reckless Person:

Rich or poor, financial prudence is always needful. Avoid a lady who is consumed by vanity and driven by competition.

Her values are distorted and will give attention to keeping up with her peers rather than focus on character that will build the marriage.

6) Don’t Marry Someone That Can Not Share Your Spiritual Conviction:

Spiritual faiths are always more deeply rooted than we thought. It informs our beliefs and actions. Shall two work together except they agree, is absurd?

You also confuse the children if your opinions about spirituality differ. Kids should be directed and not giving a choice to follow either dad or mum.

You will need the highest level of alignment with your spouse. A different view will be quite complicated to manage.

7) Intolerant Of Your Family Members:

Your family remains your family and they are strongly part of your life. A good wife should strengthen your family bond and not weaken it. I must, however, add, that there are instances when keeping away is needful.

8. Don’t Marry Someone That’s Still In Love With Their Ex-Lovers:

You are the best and you deserve the best. Do not allow anyone to place you as a second-best choice while you can be the first best choice.

If she still wants her ex-lover, please permit her to go find him. You will not be able to handle the imaginary lover in her mind.

9) Don’t Marry Her If She Has A Closer Male Friend Called Bestie:

Some women don’t really seem to understand what marriage means. They still want a close friend of the opposite gender.

Marry your best friend or replace your best friend with your spouse after all marriage is best and sweet when you marry your best. Anything different is hazardous to your marriage.

10) Don’t Marry Someone You Are Not Attracted To Or Someone who Is Not Attracted To You:

God in his wisdom made us in different sizes and shapes, be truthful to yourself and make your own choice. You will not get a chance for another.

Note that attraction is personal to you, do not judge based on the opinion of friends and family. We all have our definition of beautiful appearance, determine yours, and go for it.

11) Don’t Marry Someone With A Bad Medical History:

Ascertain medical history such as blood group, genotype, etc. Get needed medical advice. It will be disastrous for AS to unknowingly marry AS or HIV positive to unknowingly marry HIV positive. The results are expectedly hazardous.

FamilyOsinachi: My FatherTold Us Beating Women Is Good - Osinachi's Children by FullBlastLight(op): 11:36am On Apr 12, 2022
“My father told us that beating women is good, he seized her two cars” – Osinachi Nwachukwu’s son reveals.

The first son of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu has disclosed how their father instilled in them the belief that mistreating a woman is appropriate.

He revealed how his father seized the two cars people gave Osinachi Nwachukwu as gifts, compelling her to take bike all the time.

Eneh Ogbe, who met with the artist’s son and other children, made the disclosure, saying:

“By God’s grace I was in our beloved late sister’s house this evening again and am glad that he was actually arrested by the police...

...but what baffles me is the way and manner he has polluted the children’s mind. I had a chat with the first born and i almost started crying again.

This boy told me the ordeal his mom has been going thru with his dad, how he beats her up in any little argument, he said, anti my dad pushed my mom out of the car at night after Wednesday Service and bad boys snatched my mom bag that night how mom got home that night i cnt tell cos dad left her, ...

People dashed my mom this two cars (pointed at them for me to see) but dad at times will say my mom shuld take bike while we go in the car, even when we are coming back from church my mom will stand under the sun and we will drive and pass her and we will wave at her, my dad told us that beating women is good...

I had to cut in the conversation and i told him is very very wrong to beat a woman and that God is against it and i really talk sense into him...

He said they are happy that their dad was arrested becos he shout beat them up too...

The second born sang for us too he has a golden voice like the mom...

The first said my mom always keep quiet for my daddy and she always forgive and now she has died and i told him not to worry as his mom is in heaven!!!

May the soul of our beloved sister rest in peace and may God take care of her four kids she left behind. Amen!!!

‘I Am Now A Girl’ – Bobrisky Speaks As Reps Move To Ban Crossdressing.

Famous Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has reacted following the house of rep fresh initiative to ban cross-dressing in Nigeria.

One Umar Muda, a member of the House of Representatives introduced the bill to disallow crossdressing.

A bill that will prohibit crossdressing except for the ones which are being used for entertainment purposes. Defaulters of this bill may face 6 months of imprisonment.

The bill read;

“A person engaging in cross-dressing is guilty of an offense and liable to imprisonment of 6 months or to a fine of five hundred thousand naira,”

Well, it seems Bobrisky seems unconcerned about it as he categorizes himself as a female. Without mincing words, he stated that he is now a woman after undergoing a lot of irreversible surgeries to achieve the female figure.

He added that when he is summoned before the court, they will verify that indeed he is a girl. He hinted on having more upcoming surgeries and having his lawyers on alert mode should any court issues arise.

Christianity EtcCheck Out The Fearless Nigerian Clerics Who Daringly Speak Truth To Power by FullBlastLight(op): 4:05pm On Apr 10, 2022
Check Out The Fearless Nigerian Clerics Who Boldly Speak Truth To Power.

There are Nigerian clerics who are not scared to speak the truth to the powers that be. These are some of those clerics.

As Nigerians bask in the spirit of the ongoing Lent and Ramadan fasting periods, and in view of the worsening state of security in the country, we take a look at Christian and Muslim clerics who have spoken truth to power in recent times

Pastor Enoch Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is undoubtedly one of the most influential clerics in the country that occasionally speaks truth to power.

This was evident in his most recent Sunday sermon given at the church’s Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. During the sermon, Adeboye expressed concern about the spate of insecurity in Kaduna State.

He said, “You cannot go to Kaduna by road, air or train. That brings so many questions to my mind as a man of prayers. Why Kaduna? Who is trying to isolate Kaduna? Why? After Kaduna, which next?”

He added,“I am also worried about rising crude oil theft in the country.

News has it that as of now, more than 80 per cent of oil produced in the country is stolen. It is in the news and nobody has denied it. That leads me to several questions:

Who is stealing the oil? Where is the money going? What do they want to do with the money? Who are the foreign nations buying this stolen oil? How many of these nations of the world are your friends?

“It is also in the news that more than 90 per cent of Nigeria’s income is used to pay interest on money borrowed, and we are still borrowing more.

This means we are moving steadily into bankruptcy. I am more concerned about all these for now and not who becomes what at the next general elections,”he said.

Adeboye also insisted that politics is not his calling, and he will never become a politician.

He said, “I have said it before and I will say it again. I am not and will never be a politician. I am a pastor; that is what God called me to be. Please, do not distract me.

My assignment is to be a pastor; to pray for you, to pray for nations, including Nigeria. I have no anointed candidate.

In RCCG, every political party is heavily represented. I have never told you which party to vote for, whether in secret or in the open. So, it will be unjust to tell you to support one party over another.

Anybody that comes to me to seek prayers, I will gladly pray for the person because I am a pastor. I will say, ‘father let your perfect will concerning this person be done.

Remember, it is written, the highest rules in the affairs of men and gives power to whoever pleases Him.’”

Adeboye’s declaration comes after a recent circular by the church on the creation of a Directorate of Politics and Governance, which many people interpreted to mean that the church was canvassing support for its members who have political interests in the forthcoming general elections.

Recall that in February 2020, Adeboye had carried a placard and led a protest against insecurity in the country.

Sheikh Nuru Khalid
One of the most recent criticisms of the Buhari regime by a cleric was the sermon delivered on Friday, April 1, by the former Imam of the Apo Legislators Quarters Central Mosque, Sheik Nuru Khalid.

The sermon, however, led to the cleric’s suspension and subsequent sack by the mosque’s administrators.

During his sermon, Sheikh Khalid spoke about the government’s failure to handle insecurity in the country.

He said, “Everyone condemned the incident (train attack in Kaduna State), except the bandits. So, condemnation is not enough.

The President should visit the state to sympathise with the victims. The President has been to Kaduna for campaigns but he could not go there on a sympathy visit.”

Khalid also urged Nigerians not to partake in elections if the government could not guarantee their safety.

He said, “Nigerian masses should resort to only one term which is – protect our lives, (and) we will come out to vote. Let us be killed, (and) we will not come out to vote, since it’s only elections that you people know.”

Following the fiery sermon, Khalid was suspended. In a letter, the Chairman of the mosque’s steering committee, Senator Sai’du Dansadau, said the imam was suspected for the ‘inciting sermon’.

Announcing Khalid’s suspension, Senator Dansadau said in a statement, “I am informing you that you have been suspended from leading prayers in the Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque from today, April 2, 2022, until further notice.

The decision was taken because of the inciting sermon you delivered on April 1, 2022, where you advised people not to vote in the 2023 general elections unless politicians respond to some critical questions.

You should have advised them to vote out those that transgress the Almighty and breach people’s social contract as well as the state.”

However, the Sheik said he was unperturbed. He also vowed to continue speaking the truth, daring those who perceived his sermon as inciting to show evidence.

Meanwhile, the mosque eventually sacked the Khalid, for ‘not showing remorse for his attitude that led to his suspension’.

Khalid, who is also the founder of the Islamic Research and Da’awah Foundation, later announced that he had been appointed as the imam of a mosque situated behind the Central Bank of Nigeria’s quarters in Abuja.

He said, “My sack is a reflection of how Nigeria is today. Many people are hiding under the cover of religion to perpetrate all manners of unwholesome acts.

Such people would stop at nothing to take away people like me, who are pro-masses and bold enough to speak the truth to power always on behalf of voiceless Nigerians.

This is the price we pay for aligning with the people and identifying with their sufferings. By the Grace of Almighty Allah, I will be leading my new congregation this Friday, because as clerics, we need a platform to operate.”

Bishop David Oyedepo
The founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, is another popular critic of the Buhari regime.

On several occasions, Oyedepo has come under attack by supporters of the President over his criticism of the regime.

In December 2021, during the church’s Shiloh programme, Oyedepo said President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime was the worst thing that had happened to Nigeria.

He said, “I have never suffered one sleepless night on the issues of this nation but what God tells me to say, I say it clearly, unashamedly and unperturbed. I am at rest at all times. I knew this government won’t do Nigeria any good and I told you from the beginning.

The worst thing that has ever happened to this nation is this devilish, murderous government. It is retrogressive in every way. But I told you before and I shouted it clearly and never denied it.”

In July 2021, Oyedepo had described the Buhari regime as an ‘evil filled wilderness’.

In March 2020, Oyedepo had said Buhari’s government was the most wicked in the history of Nigeria.

Criticising the government’s approach to the proposed Hate Speech Bill while delivering a sermon in his church, Oyedepo claimed that the government was trying to criminalise hate speech while those who committed the actual offence went unpunished.

He said, “The government in this country is making a draconian law– hate speech. They said if you speak hatefully, you have committed murder.

Between someone who says, ‘I will kill you’ and the one who kills, who has committed a crime? I don’t understand which kind of animal farm we live in. In my view, you are bad and shouldn’t be a leader. I have the right to say so.

I am a true born and thoroughly-bred Nigerian; an intelligent one. In my view, this is the worst thing that has happened to Nigeria — this government. It is the worst and in fact, it is like a curse.”

In December 2019, Oyedepo had slammed the government over its failure to cater to the needs of the people. According to him, the President had misplaced priorities.

He said, “If the government was doing well, the people would not complain. People are complaining because you are not doing well.”

Also, in July 2018, Oyedepo asked Buhari to resign from office. While reacting to killings by herdsmen, Oyedepo, alongside the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church, Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan and a former Archbishop of the Catholic Church in Lagos, Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, called for the resignation of the President.

Oyedepo said, “The most honourable thing for any non-performing leader to do is to resign. Get out of the office!

Even our Islamic friends in the north are calling on him (Buhari) to resign. That’s the noblest thing to do. Or, are we going to look at one system destroying a whole nation?”

Cardinal John Onaiyekan
Another religious leader who is a staunch critic of the Buhari regime is Cardinal John Onaiyekan.

On January 22, 2022, during the annual St. Paul’s lecture and merit award of the national missionary seminary of St. Paul Gwagwalada, Abuja, the former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, chided the President on the approach of his government towards solving the problem of insecurity.

Onaiyekan expressed displeasure that the insecurity in the country had persisted.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Constructing redemptive narratives of hope in Nigeria’, he lamented that Nigeria had failed as a nation if killings and kidnapping and other social vices continue till 2023.

He said, “There is no reason for the spate of insecurity to continue like this till 2023. There is no reason the nation should not be able to finally settle this problem before 2022 is over.

My advice for President Muhammadu Buhari is that he should realise that he has finished his tenure, and he should allow Nigerians to pick his successor.

I am one of those who believe that a lot still can be done between now and 2023 to improve our electoral system. What we had in 2019 was a shame. There is still rancour between the National Assembly and the Presidency, and the rancour between the political parties.

If the political parties cannot come out in a reasonable way with candidates, respecting all the rules of democracy, how can we have a democratic government? The political parties are the ones to give us the candidates that we would vote for.”

In April 2021, during an interview with AIT, Onaiyekan had said he believed genuine religious leaders had a role to play in politics, which included advancing the cause of the masses and speaking truth to power in the name of God.

He said, “With all due respect to whoever is speaking for the Presidency, he has a wrong idea of politics.

Maybe, for him, politics has been just a game they play in the middle of the night. But, if you understand politics as to how you organise and manage the community for the common good, we are all supposed to be politicians.

Does that mean that whenever we (religious leaders) tell the truth and work to make our country better, we should shut up because we are playing politics?

Onaiyekan also urged President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo not to merely preach to the people during religious festivals that ‘all will be well’, but to back up their messages with the right actions to produce results.

In December 2020, Onaiyekan had said President Buhari’s admittance that Nigerians don’t trust his government was a positive step.

The clergyman stated this while reacting to Buhari’s Christmas message. He attributed the rising public distrust in Buhari’s regime to widespread deceit being peddled on numerous occasions.

Reverend Father Mbaka
The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, is another cleric who criticises bad governance. Even before Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.)’s regime, Mbaka had criticised former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

At that time, many members of the All Progressives Congress had hailed him. However, Buhari’s regime has been at loggerheads with the priest because of his scathing criticism of the government particularly over the rising state of insecurity in the country.

On January 7, 2022, Mbaka had during a sermon warned Buhari against handing over power to someone of northern extraction.

Warning that Nigeria may cease to exist if the north retains power in 2023, he said, “President Buhari should better plan well and hand over (power) to the south.

If the north wants to take over, this country will collapse. There may be no Nigeria again if the President tries to hand over power back to the north. After Buhari, northerners should forget about leadership in the coming political era.

The spirit of the Lord asked me to say this because they have what it takes to plant a northerner. Buhari should remember that Nigerians trusted him when he came in (2015) and he should remember that one day, he is leaving that place.”

In April 2021, Mbaka also criticised Buhari over the spate of insecurity in the country. The priest stated that it was wrong for Buhari to ‘maintain grave silence’ despite the widespread killings in the country.

He said, “I know people will say, ‘Mbaka, did you not pray for Buhari’? Did Samuel not anoint Saul? What are you talking about? Am I the creator of Buhari? God created him, (and) Nigerians trusted him because he had done well sometime ago. But now, how can people just be dying?”

Mbaka also stated that it was worrying that the President could remain silent despite the mindless killings in the country.

Calling on the National Assembly to impeach Buhari if he failed to resign over increased insecurity in the country, he said, “Nigerians, why are you crying?

We are crying because our leaders have failed us woefully. Let me tell you, if it is in a civilised country; by now, President Buhari would have resigned.

“The leaders have made the youth to suffer. It is time for civilians to make the leaders suffer. Enough of this rubbish.

Most of the reasons you come here for prayers are not prayer projects. These are things the government should supply. To feed, pay for house rent, and even import products from abroad, taxation has doubled, and the international community cannot come to Nigeria to invest anymore.

About a month after the statement, it was rumoured that Mbaka was arrested by officers of the Department of State Security Service. This unconfirmed report led to protests in Enugu, as his supporters took to the streets to demand his release.

The cleric later came out and said the DSS was not involved in his disappearance. Mbaka said he was kept incommunicado by his Bishop and ordered not to make public statements for a month.

Bishop Matthew Kukah
The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, is another staunch critic of the Buhari regime. Kukah had been under fire on many occasions for speaking up against the government’s lackadaisical attitude towards the issue of insecurity.

In December 2020, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum had called for Kukah’s arrest and prosecution for alleged treasonable felony. AYCF’s National President, Yerima Shettima, said Kukah was inciting a coup against a democratically-elected government.

Kukah, in a Christmas Day article, had accused Buhari of nepotism, adding that there would have been a coup if a non-Northern Muslim had become President.

He added that the north had not been spared by the socio-economic and political woes that had enveloped the nation. He said, “Against the backdrop of our endless woes, ours has become a nation wrapped in desolation.

The prospects of a failed state stare us in the face with endless bloodletting, a collapsing economy, social anomie, domestic and community violence, kidnappings and armed robberies, among others.

Ours has become a house of horror, with fear stalking our homes, highways, cities, hamlets and communities. The middle grounds of optimism have continued to shift and many genuinely ask, ‘What have we done to the gods’?

‘Does Nigeria have a future’? There is enough hate and bitterness to go round. We need to pause, reflect, pray and be honest and courageous in facing tomorrow.

A year later, in December 2021, Kukah again lamented the level of insecurity in the country. While speaking with journalists in Sokoto, the Catholic bishop said two issues bothered him about the present administration.

The issues, according to him, are the loss of lives, and appointment to positions out of favouritism and nepotism. He also stated that Buhari’s regime did not have the ability to manage diversity.

Tunde Bakare
In July 2021, the senior pastor of Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, dared President Muhammadu Buhari to come after him, adding that it was time for him to wage war against the Buhari regime.

The fiery preacher also stated that he would no longer pay visits to the president whom he once supported and ran with as a vice presidential candidate in 2011.

According to him, he had visited the president on several occasions to advise him on national issues, but he claimed the president often failed to heed his advice.

He said, “The country’s security architecture even worsened (such) that we cannot sleep with two eyes closed. It is so bad but God is not asleep.

Some of my friends criticise me that I was one of Buhari’s supporters and I had to tell them that I openly supported this man in 2011 but I am not saying I’m not seeing him again.

He is someone I visit sometimes and advise him on what to do and he will listen but once I leave, there is nothing to show for it. Later, I started staying back in my house.”

He added, “I am not interested in meeting you any longer; no more visits. Now, it is war because Nigeria must be set free. I dare you to come after me since that is the usual style now. You might have done it to others.

You are about to learn a lesson if you touch me. If you know what I have done in secret, bring it to the open. I dare you to come after me if you can. I worked with you; I worked for you; I supported you to get there (where you are). When I talk now, I have a smelly mouth.”

Bakare also argued that injustice and lack of equity were responsible for calls for secession. He said, “We must realise that what has given rise to the agitation is lack of justice and equity. When there is justice and equity, agitation will die down.

How can you be expending so much energy on (Sunday) Igboho and (Nnamdi) Kanu? Igboho and Kanu are not Nigeria’s problems. Nigeria must (be) restructured, and no one can stop that.”

PhonesHow To Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked To Your Sims by FullBlastLight(op):
How to Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked to Your MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile SIM.

The barring of some SIMs from making outgoing calls by telecom companies in line with the federal government's directive has again brought to the limelight the importance of the National Identification Number (NIN).

After repeated extensions of deadlines, the federal government on Monday, April 4, ordered telcos to block lines yet to be linked with NIN from making calls.

Over 70 million subscribers have been affected by the development. Many of them are now linking their SIM to their NIN in order to regain access to making phone calls.

However, there are some subscribers who are not sure whether or not their SIMs have been linked with their NIN, though they still have access to making calls.

You can check if your line has already been linked and quickly go ahead to link it if it hasn't, to avoid being barred from making calls.

SIM-NIN linkage for MTN subscribers:

To know if you have linked your NIN to your MTN line, dial *785#

After dialing the USSD code, you will be given the option to input your NIN.

After putting your NIN, an 11 digit number, you will get a message indicating your NIN has been "successfully" received.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) will verify the submitted NIN.

If you are unsure whether you have linked your NIN to your MTN SIM before, try the process again until you're sure it is successful.

SIM-NIN linkage for Glo subscribers:

To know if you have linked your NIN to your Glo line, dial *109#

You will be asked to enter your 11 digits NIN after which you will receive the "Successful" message.

You can also send your NIN via text message to 109

After sending it, you will get a message indicating whether it was successfully linked or not.

You can also try the process more than once if you are not sure whether you have linked your NIN to your Glo line before.

SIM-NIN linkage for Airtel subscribers:

To verify if you have linked your NIN to your Airtel line, dial *121*1#.

You will receive a message indicating that you have successfully submitted your 11 digits NIN and you will get feedback after verification from NIMC.

If you don't get the message above, you can try the process again until you are notified that you have successfully submitted your NIN to update your Airtel SIM.

NIMC will verify all the updates and your mobile network will later send you a message indicating that your update is successful.

SIM-NIN linkage for 9mobile subscribers:

To know if you have linked your NIN to your 9mobile, Dial *200*8#

You will be presented with two options:

1. Either to verify if you have linked your NIN to your 9mobile SIM.

2. Or you are just about link it.

Press 1 and send to if your plan is to verify;
You will shortly receive a message showing whether you've successfully linked your NIN to the SIM or not.

According to BBC Pidgin, NIMC will do final verification of the NIN before telcos will send message to their subscribers on whether the linking is successful or not.

FG orders NIN weekend registration nationwide
Meanwhile, NIMC has announced the commencement of weekend NIN registration at all enrolment centres nationwide.

According to the commission, the weekend enrollment will enable those yet to obtain their NIN to do so within the timeframe given by the federal government before enforcement of NIN-SIM linkage commences.

The minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, urged citizens and legal residents to take advantage of the weekend enrolment.

Nigeria is ‘not a nation but a cage if we imprison people for their religious views’ -Wole Soyinka.

The President of the Humanist Association of Nigeria, Mubarak Bala, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for blasphemy after months in solitary detention and earlier confinement in a mental institution, raising questions about the country’s tolerance for religious freedom and right to free speech.

Professor Wole Soyinka, speaking toThe Africa Report, describes the sentence as a mockery of justice and calls on human rights organisations to launch a campaign against the development.

The Nobel Laureate says the incident was part of the disadvantages of the Sharia law being practised in the north, adding that the concept of blasphemy ought not to exist in a country like Nigeria which claims to be secular.

Married Men And Women Snatch Each Other’s Partners In Toronto – Canada Based Ghanaian Woman Reveals.

Ghanaian based in Canada, Naana Dadson, has revealed that most Ghanaian couples in Toronto do is snatch each other’s husband. She refers to the situation as rampant.

Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide on SVTV Africa, Naana shared her opinion on the attitudes of the Ghanaian community in Toronto, Canada. According to her, there is no difference between a Ghanaian living in Ghana and one living in Toronto.

“The attitude of some Ghanaians here is bad. Gossiping, backbiting, but the commonest thing here is snatching people’s partners. Ghanaians keep having sex among themselves, and I can’t take myself out,” she disclosed.

Naana also disclosed why there are more Ghanaians living in Toronto as compared to other cities in the North American country.

“One is for security. Most want to feel secure and comfortable because there familiar people around. Some even refuse to move because they want the local foods.

I know many Ghanaians in Toronto who can’t speak English because they don’t have to interact with whites. They can blend in as they do in Ghana,” she told DJ Nyaami.

CrimeMy Abductors Were Shocked To See N8,500 In My Account When They Demanded N50m by FullBlastLight(op): 3:01pm On Apr 08, 2022
My abductors who battered me while calling my family were shocked to see N8,500 in my account when they demanded N50m – Abducted Ekiti pastor.

The Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church Possibility (Koseunti) Chapel, Oke Ako, Ekiti State, Michael Adeyeye, who escaped from kidnappers while they fell asleep, in this interview with ABIODUN NEJO, calls on the state government to beef up security in the area.

For how long has your church been operating there at Oke Ako?
The church is about two years old now.

Has the church through its activities been having problems with the community?
No. It was even the community that got the place for me. I took permission from the community before I set up the church. The community gave me the grace to go ahead. The church does not have problem or issue with anybody.

Where did you come from?

I am an Ekiti man, but I was resident in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, before the Lord directed me to Oke Ako for evangelism.

So, that Saturday, how did the kidnap incident happen?

We were in the church at about 10pm, we were about 30 members in church that time, we were about to begin our vigil, which we have been holding every night since June last year. But that Saturday night, four gunmen invaded the church.

They were Fulani Bororo going by their appearance and intonation. They ordered everybody to lie down. I was wondering who they were, but they commanded us to lie down. Then, they started asking ‘where is pastor? Where is pastor?’

I indicated I was the pastor and I asked who they were. But instead of providing answer to my query, they ordered me to lie down. They searched everybody. They collected our phones and other things.

Then, they asked me to pull off my clothes which I did. I removed the cassock and they asked me to wear another clothes and they instructed me to move. They even wanted to take some church members along with me, but I pleaded that they should leave the church members and the kidnappers obeyed.

They asked me to follow them and we left the church. The four of them carried guns. That was how they took me far into the bush.

But why didn’t the church members in attendance, who you said were about 30, made effort to rescue you?

As I said, the four men were armed, but none of the church members had gun. If we should attempt to resist or confront armed men like that without arms, it could have turned out to their resort to killing our church members.

As a person, I did not want any life lost. So, we had no choice but to let them have their way. Again, the majority of those in church that time were women.

So, on sighting guns and with the manner of the unexpected invasion, everybody was caught unawares, perplexed and frightened. Everybody was confused, nobody could think of what to do at that moment.

That was what happened, but then, if we had tried to confront or resist them, the story could have been different because it could have led to shooting and killing of our members.

How was the journey into the bush with the gunmen like?

The church is on a mountain by the side of the bush. It was through the nearby bush that they took me. We were in the bush, I do not know anywhere there. But we walked in the bush throughout that Saturday night.

When it was morning, Sunday morning, we stayed at a place, so two of them left, leaving two to watch over me. When the two returned, they brought cooking utensils and cooked. They cooked rice and offered me some which I rejected. When they finished eating, we continued with the wandering in the bush.

When it was evening that Sunday, they brought out my phone which they had collected on Saturday and asked me to make calls to my family. They started negotiating with them that they would collect N50m ransom before I could regain my freedom. Later, they reduced it to N15m.

What did they discuss with you all along while you were with them?

They did not discuss anything with me except that after about three hours’ walk that Saturday night, one of them, as if just waking from slumber, asked me the kind of charm that I used that made him agree with me not to kidnap church members along with me.

I told him I do not use charms. It was at that point that he started slapping me, saying I charmed him not to abduct the church members.

Did they tell you what they wanted to do with the money they demanded?

No, they did not. All they said was that I should make my family look for the money.

How did they react when the N50m they demanded which they later reduced was not forthcoming on time?

Whenever they spoke with my family members on the ransom issue, they resorted to torturing me – slaps, beatings, flogging so that members of my family could hear my cries and know I was in pains and be compelled to look for the money.

They spoke with about four members of my family on the issue of ransom, but they made all of them realise I was in pains as they tortured me to their hearing on phone.

It was when everybody said there was no money that they reduced it from N50million to N15m. I had told them we did not have money. I showed my account balance to them on the phone. It was only N8,500 that I had in the account. They said they did not need that.

How did your family members at home feel getting to know you were in pains?

There is nobody that will get to hear that his or her son or beloved is in such situation that would not be sober, but they had no option especially that they did not know where I was.

They went to report to the security agents who in turn rose to the occasion immediately. The police, soldiers, Amotekun and vigilantes went to the bush immediately and started combing the bush.

Even that night, hunters in the town went into the bush to look for me. But they missed it because where they went through to look for me was not where the kidnappers took me through.

The security agents made frantic efforts looking for me that night according to what I learnt on return. The police tried their best, the soldiers, Amotekun and vigilantes, all of them made efforts.

What was on your mind when you were with them? Did you think you might be killed?

I knew the work of God had not finished. God had not told me I had finished his work, and if the work had finished, I would accept my fate.

I believed that God who called me knew how he would do it. I believed all along that God would intervene, except that I did not know how He would do it. I did not even know that the intervention of God would come so soon as it came.

Did they allow you to pray?

They did not give me the opportunity to pray, but I was praying with my mind.

How did they treat you knowing you are a cleric?

They knew I am a pastor because it was the pastor that they asked of when they came to the church. Although they did not see nor know me among members then, I was the one that told them I am the pastor.

This was because anything could have happened if I had allowed them to take church members without showing myself.

How did you regain your freedom?

On Monday morning, at about 5am, because we walked all night, I got tired and I requested that we should rest.

After some time, they said I could rest and perhaps sleep a bit. While they watched over me. I slept and while sleeping, when I woke up, I discovered that the four armed kidnappers had slept off. That was how I walked stealthily out of the place into the bush and escaped from the kidnappers.

How did you know your way out of the bush?

I did not know my way. I was just walking and running, I only had the belief that I will get to the road one day. I kept running until I came out at Eruku in Kwara State at 11pm.

So at Eruku, I saw a man, who I narrated my ordeal to. I used the man’s phone to call my brother in Ado Ekiti, telling him of my divine escape. My brother told me to wait for him. I got back to Oke Ako on Tuesday afternoon.

The complaint in the Oke Ako community has been that herdsmen are troubling them…
That is true. The activities of the herdsmen in the community are inimical to the lives and economy of the people. Herders’ cattle always graze on their farm crops and produce.

What advice do you have for the security agencies and the government of Ekiti State?

My advice to the government is to step up effort to ensure security of the people. The state government should look into the case of Oke Ako and indeed Ekamefa.

The cases of kidnapping and breach of security are rampant. The government is trying, but more efforts are needed to tame the criminals who are breaching peace and law and order in this area.

This will go a long way in addressing the issue of farmers who are afraid to go to their farms again in view of destruction of their farms by cattle and thus save the economy of the people and this area. This area and indeed Ekiti State need security.

AgricultureI’m A Scientist – Why You Should Never Kill The Spiders In Your Home by FullBlastLight(op): 1:12pm On Apr 06, 2022
Why you should never kill the spiders in your home and why they will ALWAYS be there even if you do.

SPIDERS and other insects are usually exterminated when they find their way inside homes.

An entomologist is cautioning people against getting rid of the spiders in their homes since they can bring surprising benefits.

Most homeowners will never see the spiders that live in their homes.

Spiders play an important role in the ecosystem in nature, as well as the ecosystem inside homes.

Most homeowners will never see the majority of spiders that are living in their home, but they will notice the benefits, says Matt Bertone, Extension Associate in Entomology at North Carolina State University.

Bertone and his colleagues conducted a survey of 50 North Carolina homes and found spiders in each one.

The most common spiders found were the cobweb and cellar spiders.

The spiders wait in their webs to catch their prey, which is often pests like flies and mosquitos.

Some spiders leave the webs to eat other spiders to limit the competition for food.

Having a spider in your home is like having a free pest removal service.

Although many fear spiders, most of the species have venom too weak to cause issues in humans, and that's if their fangs can pierce the skin.

If you do happen to see one in your home, rather than squishing it, try to catch it and release it back outside.

Spiders prefer to avoid humans since we're more dangerous to them than they are to us.

Even if you don't see them, they're most likely there, providing benefits to keep your home comfortable and pest free.

Invasive "parachuting spiders" that can use their webs to ride the wind for long distances have begun spreading along the southeast in the US.

Officially called the Joro spider, its legs can span about three inches. Paired with the striking blue and yellow colors, the spider has given quite the fright to homeowners who stumble upon them.

Although they're venomous, the spider's fangs are too small to break the skin of humans or pets.

Scientists also believe they may be helpful to the environment since they eat pests that ruin crops.

The RRS, in a statement, said its operatives were on patrol along the Third Mainland Bridge on Tuesday when the man was seen trying to jump into the Lagoon.

“The elderly man was attempting to jump into the Lagos Lagoon inward Lagos Island when the officers stopped him,” the statement reads.

“He disclosed that a personal challenge made him sell his house, land and car. With that, he still couldn’t solve the problem. He got a loan and the problem still persisted.
