This attempt at emotional blackmail is pathetic. Dangote asked for land to build his factory. Kano state govt gave him land. Dangote's business plan includes providing inputs for farmers to provide the required tonnes of tomatoes. Kano state govt gave the farmers extra land with irrigation. Dangote has built his plant. What is stopping production? Simple. Dangote asked govt to stop importation of tomato paste without producing a SINGLE tin. He wants a monopoly. When govt didn't answer him, he shut down the plant. Suddenly, all his outgrowers had to find alternative markets. Luckily, they did. He did it during Yaradua. Yaradua begged him, as a muslim, d price of cement in the international market, after clearing to Nigeria is like N600. Please sell at N1000. Dangote refused. Yaradua unilaterally reduced cement price to N1000. Dangote halted production in all his plants. Price of cement balooned to close to 3k. Yaradua had to back down. Next round is his refinery. Thats where he will hold us to fresh ransom. His business model is MONOPOLY. Take that away, he's a fish out of water and is ready to do anything, including cripple our economy, to maintain the status quo.

The only reason we have poor power is pipeline vandalism by 'patriotic' militants.. GEJ built many gas power plants with up to 5000MW optimal output. Problem was the transmission lines could only take 3,000mw+. Fashola improved output to 6000mw+ and improved transmission to 5,000mw+. The only problem is gas to power the plants as some useless people keep blowing up the gas lines.

See, just sell off these universities. People who cant afford the school fees will now be on scholarship. To ease the burden, everyone will pay the current fees in year one. In essence, govt gives everyone a scholarship. Then everyone on a 3.5 gp gets a scholarship from year 2 onwards. Drop from 3.5, u lose ur scholarship. All salaries should be paid by the schools, not government. Covenant university doesn't pay lecturers what govt pays them, yet they are one of the best in Africa, ahead of even schools like UI and OAU sometimes in the rankings. We don tire for this rubbish.

Nigerian police is like a pyramid scheme. Constables, sergeants and inspectors extort N50 and above from roadusers. They remit the same to DPO, DPOs remit to Area Commanders who remits to state Commissioner, who remits to zonal AIG who remits to IG. Of course there are other income streams other than N50 as has been pointed out. Everybody remits up the pyramid. There is an unofficial target if you want to maintain your post or get promotion. Woe betide any one who wants to disrupt this elaborate arrangement!

i used the word average. Its about that figure if you take the average for the past 10 years or so. Budget figures above 3 trillion started last year. Last year budget was over 5 trillion. What happened? Govt could only source about 2 trillion.

I graduated from UI 10 years ago with a degree in Engineering and will tell you for for free, the quality compared to CU is wack.

Just admit it, our public universities are a mess.

Where does CU get its lecturers? Do they follow another curriculum apart from NUC's? Same profs at public unis are the visiting profs at private unis. Do they teach rubbish in public schools and excellently in private schools? Govt also pay lecturers better than private unis, though i agree commitment to work is higher as the private schools insist on getting value for money. Private schools also buy more facilities because HODs and VCs in public schools embezzle such funds. As per ur experience, a doctor friend at abuja told us how disappointed she was in a doctor doing her house job who graduated from igbinedion uni. She had to teach her so many basic things. Difference is just in d extra amenities and facilities jor.

Imagine Kano has more LGs than Lagos. Kano and Jigawa have more LGs than the whole SE. It means they have more HoR members and much more allocation from the centre. And u want people to be happy. If states were responsible for their LGs, na north go struggle for d restructuring pass.
