Stingman: Kemi Adeosun, minister of finance, says the federal government is working on policies to increase excise tax on tobacco and alcohol.
https://www.thecable.ng/fg-increase-taxes-tobacco-alcohol.
Recently Nigeria government hinted on increasing taxes on alcohol and tobbacco.
VATs and taxes on alcohol runs into billions. We all know that many northern states that practice sharia destroy alcohol drinks and ban them in parts of their states. Recently Kwara ban the consumption of alcohol in parts of their states.
Now is it fair for them to gain from such taxes and any increases thereof...from the FG?
Kano collects more VAT from this than Lagos state that consumes alcohol.
How can Nigeria government continue to rob Peter to pay Paul?
Nigeria is a country built on the foundation of injustice, inequality and partiality. I BLAME THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY FOR KEEPING QUIET FOR SO LONG A TIME, A LAW SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES OF ALCOHOL SHOULD NOT BE SHARED WITH THESE SHARIA STATES, THERE IS NOTHING BAD ABOUT THEY SHOULD EVEN REJECT THE MONEY AND SEND IT BACK TO THE FGN. FOR THE FACT THAT THEY COLLECT THE MONEY IT MEANS THEY ARE STILL TAKING PART IN THE ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION. |

It's usually baffling to see the changes any region goes through over a short span of time, especially when the progress materializes in photos.
The Khaleej (Gulf) alone has witnessed unprecedented developments over the course of a century that will make you restore your faith in human determination and vision.
From completely uninhabited deserts in the pits of nowhere to futuristic cities, and indispensable economies and cultures to nowadays' world.
Take a look at how the region man-made its way to the top:

Question: Whether people admit it or hide it, isn't Trump absolutely right that ordinary Americans are now sick of African, Mexican, and Indian immigrants migrating to the USA and stealing jobs from American citizens?

Explorers: Bombing raids have killed more Syrians in the besieged enclave of eastern Ghouta before a delayed UN vote on a ceasefire to allow medical and food aid to reach civilians.
Nearly a week into one of the most fierce assaults of Syria’s long civil war, over 520 people were dead and thousands more injured.
Smoke rises from the besieged Eastern Ghouta in Damascus, February 27.
