Please you have to realize Mr Buhari is an old man and body no be firewood. He is not strong enough to leave Abuja and travel to plateau on an impromptu. Moreover he has a lot to think about and sort out from his busy schedule. The man can not come and kill himself because if these never satisfied Nigerians. Happy Ramadan fasting to our Muslim brothers.
Quickly I want to ask, how right or rather proper for a non-muslim, particularly Christians to accept food/meat gift from our Muslim brothers, especially the ones used in breaking the fast..
My Muslim close associates have been gifting that persuasively and it now looks discriminatory to them, I'm a Christian by the way and they are well informed on that.

However this thread is never for religious warring or insults from anyone/religion against another, it's for better interreligious knowledge and information.

I know i am supposed to post this in the family section but i always get better response from the Romance section. I don't know whether any of you has been in a situation where an in-law comes for a short visit and finally settles in your home without any sign of leaving anytime soon.

My wife's elder sister who is single came to visit us in January but up till now she has not made any move to go and it's not as if we live in a big apartment so there is no much privacy. We got married in 2015 so our union is still young.

This kind of situation puts one in a dilemma because you just don't know what to say and you will be termed "a bad person". She lies on our matrimonial bed even in my presence.

Before now i never knew someone would feel comfortable staying with a younger sister in her matrimonial home. If it is as a result of accommodation problem or maybe you went to a distant location to do one or two things and you now spend sometime in your younger sister's home, that is understandable.

Please what advice do you have for me?

Imo state governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, is not a happy man. This is because his effort to seek presidential intervention in cancellation of the outcome of last Saturday’s Ward Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has hit a brick wall.

Okorocha, who was roundly humiliated by powerful forces within the party in Imo state, was yesterday at the office of the Inspector General of Police in Abuja seeking to get him to order the Police to take some actions that would be pleasing to him and his supporters.

Ripples Nigeria learnt that the IGP, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, rebuffed Okorocha’s attempt to force his hands.

Our Source within the IGP’s office said the Police boss pointedly told Okorocha that he had no instructions to help him.

According to our source, Okorocha, who had run to Daura, Katsina state, to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari to order a cancellation of outcome of the congress, was disappointed when the President told him that he has no hand in party matters.

Frustrated, Ripples Nigeria gathered that Okorocha ran to the IGP asking that he order the Police to take action against those he claimed worked against him at the congress.
It was gathered that he specifically complained to the IGP against an alleged conduct of National Organising Secretary of the APC, Osita Izunaso, Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu and Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume.

He was also said to have complained that the committee sent by the APC to conduct the congress may have been compromised.

However, Ripples Nigeria learnt that the IGP, who is billed to travel with the President to inspect killing fields of Kaduna and Zamfara state, told Governor Okorocha that he could not assist him in the circumstance.

A disappointed Okorocha was said to have left the IGP’s office crest-fallen

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria
(MSSN) has faulted the United States
President Donald Trump’s offer on killings in
Nigeria, saying such an offer would further
divide Nigeria.

The Amir (President) of the MSSN in Lagos
State, Saheed Ashafa, said this in a press
statement to react to the discussions
between President Muhammadu Buhari and
Mr Trump during the Nigerian president’s
official visit to the U.S. on Monday.

During the visit, Mr Trump specifically read
what could be described as a riot act to the
Nigerian government, saying the “killing of
Christians in Nigeria was unacceptable” to
the American government.
But Mr Ashafa considered Mr Trump’s
comment as one-sided and
uncomplimentary, warning that Nigeria must
be cautious of her relationship with the U.S.

The Muslim students’ leader alleged that Mr
Trump’s comment signalled his hatred for
Muslims and Islam in Nigeria.
He said, “Trump’s offer shows that he is
myopic and uncivilised. The pronouncement
to help fight killings of Christians in a nation
where innocent souls are wasted without
recourse to their affiliations is a call to
separatism.
“One would wonder if Trump is not aware or
deliberately ignored the murder of several
Muslims in a mosque at the University of
Maiduguri, or those killed in mosques in
Yobe and Zamfara; and many other parts of
the country.
“We should know that the offer is a
reflection of Trump’s hatred for Islam and
Muslims. Such offer at this point in time is
divisive, ‘unafrican’ and insincere.”
Mr Ashafa urged world leaders to ignore
insinuations that Muslims are not against
terrorism, adding that it would be more
beneficial to tackle insurgency with utmost
neutrality.

While commending the calmness of
President Buhari during the news conference
with President Trump aired on CNN, Mr
Ashafa urged him (President Buhari) to avoid
negative influence in the fight against
terrorism and corruption.
He added, “Let me reiterate that as Muslims
we condemn and reject all forms of
terrorism, insurgency and oppression in
whatever name being perpetrated.
“We should also remember that in Nigeria,
most families are composed of Christians
and Muslims alike, just as we also have
other faithful.
“Trump’s call for separatism when the world
is advocating for collectivism is not a
healthy offer.”
