dangermouse: Watching the impunity as it unfolds. How can the 27 law makers be loyal to an ex governor and not the elected governor they are serving under?
It is so gross and undemocratic.
Woke should let Fubara focus on governance as the elected governor of the state. He has had his days and time to let go.
Greed and selfishness is not good. Wike bought election normination forms for them, that he mentioned on TV, who does that. |

I love men with guts, not weaklings with third legs! We must never give room for political god-fatherism anywhere in SE and SS. SW and Islamic north can continue; it's in their culture. Wike appointed all the commissioners, except for the commissioner for information, special advisers, special assistants, even Tinubu never did that to all the governors after him, by the time people hear the whole story, people we know how greedy Wike is, he is not the first governor to support another |
Politics › Re: We ’ll Tackle Inflation, Exchange Rate Challenge Next Year — CBN by gare(f): 7:59pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
Bobloco: .....As Q3 trade balance stands at N18.804bn
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that it will tackle the rising inflation and exchange rate disparity by next year.
It also projected less revenue from oil exports in the next fiscal year just as it declared that total trade volume from Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) stood at N18.804 billion in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023.
The governor of the apex Bank, Olayemi Cardoso, made the disclosures in his presentation to the National Assembly Joint Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions.
He explained to members of the Joint Committee from both chambers of the National Assembly, that the outlook for the domestic economy in Nigeria for 2024 was very positive as both inflation and exchange rate issues would withstand fluctuating pressures on them and get stabilised.
“The outlook for the domestic economy remains positive and is expected to maintain the positive trajectory for 2024.
“Inflation pressures may persist in the short-term but are expected to decline in 2024. Exchange rate pressures are also expected to reduce significantly with the smooth functioning of foreign exchange market,” he said.
He specifically informed the legislative committee members that the unification of the exchange rate windows in June 2023 has ushered in a new approach to the management of the exchange rate, aimed at reducing arbitrage, rent-seeking behaviour and speculations in the forex market.
“The policy aims at creating a market where the demand and supply of foreign exchange determine the exchange rate.
“The premium has narrowed and our focus on increasing the autonomous FX supply would lead to more stability and further narrowing of the premium.
“Total trade in the third quarter of 2023, stood at N18.804.68billion. Exports were valued at N10.346.60billion while total imports stood at N8.457.68billion. This represents a positive trade balance, which would lead to increase of the external reserves,”the CBN governor explained.
He, however, stated that due to domestic prevailing factors, less revenues would be earned from oil exports in 2024.
He said: “We expect less revenue from oil exports due to the production limit of 1.78mbpd in 2024. OPEC-approved quota for Nigeria is 1.8mbpd, which is higher than the 2024 budget assumption.
“However, the country’s production has been below these thresholds. The budget benchmark for 2023 was 1.69mbpd, but the highest level of production during the year was about 1.35mbpd in Q3 of 2023.
“The reasons for the underperformance of the oil production target include crude oil theft and pipeline vandalization, production shut-ins and divestments by major oil companies,” he added.
Earlier before the CBN governor’s presentation, the chairman of the Joint Committee, Senator Tokunbo Abiru (APC, Lagos East), said the interactive session was organised for a statutory briefing by CBN in line with extant laws.
The co-chairman of the committee, Hon. Bashir Bello El-Rufai, in his remarks, commended the CBN governor and the entire management team on measures being put in place to stabilise the economy generally.

Masterstroke4: ”Nigerians Should Pay Around N750 Per Litre For Petrol” – World Bank Tells Tinubu’s Govt.
The World Bank has raised alarms over the prevailing fuel prices in Nigeria, stating that current rates are not cost-reflective and hint at the federal government’s continued payment of petrol subsidies.
During the presentation of the Nigeria Development Update (NDU), December 2023 Edition, the World Bank’s lead economist for Nigeria, Alex Sienaert, expressed concern that fuel prices in Nigeria, currently around N650 per litre, do not align with market conditions.
He suggested that Nigerians should pay around N750 per litre for petrol. His words: “It does seem like petrol prices are not fully adjusting to market conditions. So, that hints at the partial return of the subsidy if we estimate what is the cost reflective of the retail PMS price of the would-be and assume that importation is done at the official FX rate.
“Of course, the liberalization is happening with the parallel rates, which is the main supplier, the price would be even higher. These are just estimates to give you a sense of what cost-reflective pricing most likely looks like.
“We think the price of petrol should be around N750 per litre more than the N650 per litre currently paid by Nigerians. World bank ask Tinubu how much is the minimum wage, that you're asking Nigerians to pay N750 for a liter of PMS, it's not your fault our leaders have betrayed us and stolen our wealth so when they come to borrow you are free to give them all sorts of conditions before you lend them money you know will still be stolen by them. God is watching everyone of you. |

Prohibition of alcohol is strictly for Muslims, In UAE and Saudi, Alcohol is sold to non Muslim and expatriates
Qatar during world cup had some lisenced location that sold beer
A total ban like that of Kano state is ridiculous In Saudi Arabia alcohol is not sold anywhere in the public like in the UAE there is a prohibition on the manufacture, sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol in Saudi Arabia. Drinking is punishable by public flogging, fines, or lengthy imprisonment, accompanied by deportation in certain cases |

Romance › Re: My Wife Watches Cartoons More Than My Kids At 37 Help! - Man Laments by gare(f): 5:19pm On Dec 10, 2023 |
DyshApp: A married man has anonymously taken to social media to complain about his wife’s addiction to watching cartoons with their children.
According to him, his wife was always excited to watch and sing along to the cartoon with their kids and she would narrate the stories to them if they missed them.
According to the man, something must be wrong with his wife. While admitting that she has not failed in her roles as a wife and mother to his kids, he reiterated his worry that he felt she should have grown past cartoons.
He appealed for help to fix the cartoon problem.
In his words: "I feel like something is wrong, I don't really get her sometimes. She doesn't even watch the movies I want us to watch together unless I really encourage her. She acts like me not watching those their cartoons with them, I'm missing out on something great.
“My wife, 37 years old, enjoys watching cartoon even more than our kids. When I say cartoon, I mean animated movies. Our first boy is 14 years old down to our last who is currently 4 years old. They’ve turned the home into a cartoon home. They are soo addicted, they sing their songs, do their dances and discuss those things all the time. My wife at her age will be running as if something strange was happening and she forgets herself to be an adult sometimes. I’ve tried to explain to her that I don’t really like it, I don’t complain because they are being happy but, I don’t understand my wife’s addiction. Even when the kids aren’t around, she’ll be watching animated movies alone.
Once they get home, she’s going to narrate all she watched to them and even demonstrate with actions some funny/emotional scenes. I feel like something is wrong, I don’t really get her sometimes. She doesn’t even watch the movies I want us to watch together unless I really encourage her. She acts like me not watching those their cartoons with them, I’m missing out on something great. Is there something I can do to help her? It’s somehow bothering me.
Kindly note that, she’s fully employed and still does her duties as a wife and a mother. I don’t have any problem on that side, I just feel she’s addicted to animated movies when actually, she has grown pass it.”
There's nothing wrong with your wife, I believe it's you that has a problem that can't sit with your family and enjoy what they do. Must everything in your house be by your standard. Just join them, since they are happy watching it sit. With them also. I watch cartoons with my kids, when I come to join them my last daughter would come and start narrating what's been going on in the movie. There's not wrong in watching animated movies |
