Have I not said it here many times that Aregbesola is a visionary leader worth supporting? This is not even his first initiative to be lauded worldwide. OYES has been understudied with the intention of using it to boost youth employment throughout Africa!!!

Senator Chukwumerije, Chairman Senate committee on education, has already hinted us about what we are reading now. Kudos Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Chukwumerije hails Aregbesola’s education policies
POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10TH, 2012

By Gbenga Faturoti, Correspondent Osogbo

Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije has called on other states in Nigeria to emulate the feat recorded by Osun State in education sector saying that what is happening in the state is capable of rescuing the country’s rotten education sector.

Chukwumeriji, who lead other members of the committee on an oversight visit to Osun State, challenged other state governors to learn from the policies being put in place in Osun if indeed, they are set to put their states on the path of glory.

He explained that all state governors must drop their party affiliations and sentiments and learn from Osun because the state is on the right path to the development of the sector.

Other members of the committee included wife of the former governor of Lagos State, Oluremi Tinubu, Professor Olusola Adeyeye and Atiku Bagudu.

The committee said the visit was a mark of respect and solidarity in showing appreciation for the feat that the young administration of Aregbesola has achieved in Osun.

According to Chukwumerije, “The states and the country owe Governor Aregbesola a lot of gratitude for promptly laying a formidable foundation for education in the state. I will like to use this opportunity to advise other states irrespective of your political affiliation, you must drop your ego and learn from the people oriented projects and programmes of Governor Aregbesola.”

The senator described the collapse of education in the country as a national challenge and appealed to all to muster the courage to address the decay in the education sector.

“The Governor of Osun is God-sent to his people. Aregbesola, as a fresh governor, has shown that he is a serious-minded person. For the first time, the education policy of Ogbeni Aregbesola remains the best in the country, even ahead that of Lagos State.”

Responding, Governor Aregbesola held that for the country to progress, the interest of the people must be considered before any decision is taken; stating that parliamentary system of government is the essence of democracy.

He said, “The best form of political activity is in the parliament, our nation will not make appreciable progress if it focuses only on the executive, at least the parliament is where ideas are generated, they have total representative and support of the people.

“Parliamentary system is the essence of democracy. The assembly of the people must not be an expression but it must put into practise. For a country to have a meaningful development progress, it must not be a one-sided means of power.” The governor averred.

Speaking on education, Aregbesola said when he got into power; his intention was to close down schools for about a year because of what he met.

“What was on ground was dilapidated school buildings not fit for human habitation. The conditions of teachers were nothing to write home about plus the condition of other infrastructure.”

He urged the committee not to be afraid to tell the president that there is a problem in the educational sector, adding that the decadence in the sector must be arrested to rescue students from the problem of not having sound education.

Aregbesola held that the basis of growth for any country is sound education and that Osun is committed to provision of genuine and sound education for its citizenry hence the commitment of huge resources to make sure that its pupils will rank among the best in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: PDP Break-up: Who Will Deliver Jonathan From Sycophants? By Obinna Akukwe by Gbawe2: 8:04am On Sep 05, 2013
berem: .....and what of the Sycophants on nairaland headed by Sincere 9gerian? Those guys have totally lost it and are tarnishing the image of the President on this forum. angry
You are completely correct. In fact, it is their equivalent in the corridors of power who have led GEJ astray and are the focus of the article. The article author does a good job showing how these power-hungry yet clueless mercenaries are leading Jonathan towards resounding failure, humiliation and rejection.

I remember how Insincere9gerian would come here to brag after every pseudo victory of team GEJ. When Anenih became BOT chairman, him and others virtually spammed this forum to death shouting that no one is standing in the way of 'superman' GEJ gaining the PDP ticket. It was "in the bag" they bragged. I told these excitable children that, at the right time, the 'owners' of the PDP will show the naive and despotic team GEJ that empty gra gra never carries the day against superior numbers. 16 is greater than 19 only works when GEJ is bullying his fellow Southerner. Some, like Naive9gerian and his co-travellers, will now be forced to confront the reality of how the PDP is a "Northern Party".

If project GEJ (to include the man himself, his strategists and supporters)was one with genuine intelligence behind it then it would have been obvious that GEJ has almost no chance of getting the PDP ticket in a Party that, regardless of what deluded folks think, has a very strong and influential Northern spine not in support of his ambition.

PoliticsRe: Us Think- Tank: New Pdp Highlights North, South Dichotomy by Gbawe2:
North-South dichotomy ke? I thought PDP was the Party with "National spread" and the only "detribalised Party in Nigeria"? Even GEJ said as much in the days 'romance' was sweet. Yet some of us have always insisted that the PDP is a Northern Party and, at the right time, this would be made abundantly clear to those defending and associating proudly with the "nest of killers" because of GEJ. This is the PDP in its full glory.

Is it not amusing how non-Nigerians see what Nigerians completely blind themselves to because of bias and emotion? Even America is saying what many of us have said that GEJ is toast in a PDP where his candidacy has destroyed what the PDP is about above everything else. I.e the "elite political political consensus" that keeps the PDP working and the Party united. Jonathan has totally divided the unity of the PDP and many of us said this would be a problem in a Party which, in reality, has a Northern spine. If GEJ was a visionary leader and innovative political thinker ready to shun opportunism and work hard to gain what he wants then he would have seen and noted the obvious to make other plans instead of thinking he can kill the freewill of others via using his office to bully everyone in the PDP into supporting his ambition.

Jonathan had already fractured the PDP badly since 2011. The wise man, if a single one was in team GEJ, would have told Jonathan to 'weigh his options' because the 'owners' of the PDP would be waiting for a round two which would be a "do or die" and "must not lose" affair. Amazing how we argue here daily for pages whereas a US think tank aptly, and without histrionics or undue sentiments, identify what keeps the PDP functioning "well enough" but is now destroyed with GEJ's ambition. Enjoy people. Show just beginning.

The US think-tank said the old PDP is not a political party judging by the Western conventional sense because it has neither distinctive political platform nor ideology.

“Rather, it has been the venue of politics, where Nigeria’s competing and cooperating elite have resolved political issues. It functioned well enough when there was a broad elite political consensus,” CFR said.

It said the consensus broke down with the end of the power alternation within the PDP and that the continuing failure to replace it with anything else has led to increasing tensions.

You may be right. Either way, it makes no difference. Bamanga Tukur is not someone the politicians with self-acquired sagacity will ever fear or respect. The part about him being a mercenary is 100% correct. Tukur will simply go back to being a nonentity after GEJ. He can enjoy his 15 minutes of fame which will end soon.

Timehin: So in your own opinion its only Gej that's synonymous with bully and treachery in naija politics huh Justifying your hatred/opposition of Gejs presidency with long know-it-all epistle won't hold water with me. Interestingly too you are convinced present crisis within PDP has no direct bearing on the masses huh Geez!

Don't bother responding with another long story!
Here we go. Typical of GEJ fans. So predictable. Go back and read previous pages to see you quoted me not the other way round. This is what you GEJ fans do. You are all uncouth yet you pretend to want to engage in civil discussion when this is just a smokescreen for validating "truth" as team GEJ sees it. When such is not forthcoming, you abandon civility to become your uncouth self simply because you feel others are now a 'lost cause'.

Guy, I am happy to forever ignore you on Nairaland if you will do same in return and not run around treacherously quoting others only to then boil things down to "hatred of GEJ" when you don't hear what you want. You are all the same. I.e paranoid, highly unreasonable and cursed to be unable to see things from the perspective of others.

Don't quote me next time or engage me in discussion and I will happily ignore you too because it is clear you are in the category of immature posters, always throwing toys out of prams, I make it a point to ignore.

eGuerrilla: @Gbawe, we are not in dispute about the amount of malfeasance which has characterised the President's dealings with his peers
up to this point.

But, as a democrat, what do you see as the bottom-line?
As a total democrat, I fully agree GEJ should be allowed to contest and stated this many times. I am however not Lamido, Aliyu, Atiku or anyone else who is facing the prospect of not even being allowed to test their popularity because of a power-drunk President cornering the machinery of power to bully everyone out of the way.

We cannot glibly discredit the legitimate fear of those who have never seen GEJ show a willingness to submit himself to a genuine test of popularity.

We all know GEJ, if contesting, will seek to undermine the process at every step of the way because he simply cannot win otherwise. You and I know Nigerian Presidents do not take too kindly to public humiliation which is the only the inevitable outcome of GEJ contesting the PDP primaries. GEJ and his crew are aware of this. Such is the extent to which they have 'lost' the support of even the moderates in the Party let alone the hardliners who openly shout that internal treachery must be punished. Once peace is brokered the machinations of team GEJ will begin again to overcome others. It will be non-stop as the only solution for a desperate camp that knows it is guaranteed to fail if a genuine test of popularity is the deciding factor.

Others may just be fed up of the man's nature. While I cannot overtly support what they are doing, I think it is a legitimate tool of self-preservation against a character who has shown, on many occasions, that he has no honour or steadfast and principled devotion to anything. Let GEJ stick his finger up at these conditions and prove he is no lazy and usurping opportunist. He should, like Tinubu developed the ACN after Atiku and others left, turn his inherited faction into a winning one with his own hard work and talent. There is a feel of inevitable karma to the all this.
PoliticsRe: Atiku And His Gangs Are Fools For Saying GEJ Shouldn't Contest In 2015. by Gbawe2: 12:31pm On Sep 04, 2013
Akamu and Stew: I'm of the opinion that to an extent Atiku and His people are right to ask GEJ not to contest on PDP's platform.

This is purely a PDP affair. We weren't there when GEJ reached an agreement with his PDP brothers to go for just one term why should we be bothered when he is being called upon to honor his agreement?

Once more I say whatever the members of the killer-party decide to do with GEJ(wrt 2015 election) remains the business of those within the party.

We should separate PDP's internal arrangement from the inalienable right of GEJ to contest the 2015 election on any other platform aside that of PDP.

cool
Thank you.
PoliticsRe: Atiku And His Gangs Are Fools For Saying GEJ Shouldn't Contest In 2015. by Gbawe2:
@OP.

You usually call it as you see it yet I think it is inappropriate and out of place for you and others to comment about the rights and wrong of how the PDP politicians handle their internal dispute to the extent you now proclaim right or wrong decisively. This is not open to the public court of arbitration and you should remember "all is fair in love and war" as GEJ has himself, on many occasions, demonstrated in his ruthless take-down of others that has been applauded vociferously by his fans here.

You and others forget that the Atiku factions is not telling GEJ what to do. GEJ and his mercenaries are the ones running around begging for "peace and unity" they did not think was needed when they were at their imperious, arrogant and dictatorial best.

The Atiku faction has merely given the conditions for "peace and unity". However such conditions rankle anyone, let no one forget that GEJ has the option of telling them to get lost.

If GEJ does not want to accept their condition, which their strength in number and assumed political sagacity/support base gives them the right to demand, then Mr.President should simply reject their conditions and prove to all of us he is also a sagacious politician who can make the PDP factions he has inherited a winning one.

We cannot dismiss the reality of how it is deliberate Machiavellian machinations of team GEJ, played out before our very eyes, that has brought this situation upon the PDP in the first place. My guy, see what is obvious and stay out of commenting on PDP intra Party 'mechanisms' for dealing with treachery and dictatorship that abets a situation where it is "one man standing" because abuse of office has dismissed all others.

Did you not see Oyinlola and others ruthlessly 'retrenched' after Alli carried the day as PDP BOT chairman? Did Anenih, after that 'retrenchment', not emerge PDP "consensus" BOT chairman at the second outing? What of the desperation to ensure Amaechi did not return as NGF chairman? The effort to impeach him? Patience strutting around insulting real politicians who cut their teeth in the 'arena'? Shall we inspect more desperate actions all designed to ensure GEJ was the last man standing? Had others not been mocked for "impotence" against "all-powerful" GEJ when the reality was that others were merely happy to watch GEJ expend energy secure in the knowledge he can never take over a Party (PDP) often described the "Northern Party" by astute analysts. I don't have a problem with people using legitimate veto/numerical/mobilisation powers to truncate the dictatorial and intolerant ambition of a leader that is unpopular and rejected by the majority at intra Party level.
PoliticsRe: Ajimobi's Mokola Bridge Scam Exposed by Gbawe2: 11:23am On Sep 04, 2013
Since Nigeria returned to democracy(in 1999) no single flyover was built by any governor that ruled Oyo state, but Ajimobi built and commissioned one at the ever-busy Mokola junction within two years in office. On the day of commissioning, people of ibadan in their thousands gathered to witness this good development that has been halted by the previous governments of the state from 1999-2011. With this, the governor's supporters and lovers increased drastically which the opposition were not cool with. These opposition: Ladoja and Akala(same set of people that ruled Oyo state from 2003 to 2011) that never thought of constructing a flyover not to mention commissioning one went ahead to give false impression that the bridge is substandard thereby causing panic amidst the people of Ibadan and discouraged them of using the bridge.
Few weeks later, after the commissioning a driver ran into the barrier used in obstructing heavy trucks(trailers, tankers, lorries) from plying the bridge over the NIGHT and got it damaged.

One thing that I think our politicians in Nigeria need to learn from their western counterparts is making the welfare and good living of the people they are governing or wish to govern their priority. Causing panic ordinarily is a crime because it makes the people feel unsafe. But our politicians see as a way to score political points

How could Ladoja have concluded that the bridge built is substandard without any test to prove it is?

Throughout his stay in office he never thought of building one not to mention a standard one for the people of Ibadan, but Ajimobi built one within his two years in office.

Could it be coincidence that a bridge that Ladoja has been shouting of about it's originality got damaged by a driver AT NIGHT few weeks after it was commissioned?

Is it a crime if Ladoja had pointed out a fault found in the flyover(if at all there is any) and call the government to order secretly and later politicize it if the flyover later developed a major fault that renders it useless?

All these just proved how dirty Oyo state politics is, but it's cool how Ajimobi didn't do anything rascal as retaliation and make things messy like they've been playing it before he joined oyo politics.
Thank you. The OP is a well-known enemy of progress in relation to any developmental project delivered by the APC in the SW but even his pathetic and pitiful mischief, coupled with this desperately poor article, cannot detract from the idiocy of how it is mainly failed elements who have done nada in their many years in charge who are bleating negatively and pointlessly about a functional and badly-needed bridge stakeholders and end users have been celebrating and praising as a solution they have clamoured for eternally.
PoliticsRe: Ajimobi's Mokola Bridge Scam Exposed by Gbawe2:
Ucheosefoh: I expected u guys to counter the article with facts yet none of u have any reasonable thing to say other than call the article trash
What is there to counter? When an article says what is written below, then all serious folks know that the author of the article is not a truthful person and certainly not deserving of a serious response.

THE much trampled people of Oyo State
Anyone who can say Oyo people are "much trampled" today , when we all know what obtained before, is a clown who cannot be taken seriously same as no sane person will pay attention to someone who insinuate Black folks in America today are "much trampled people" in comparison to when they were still slaves being sold from one white master to another.

This is a literal comparison because the Oyo folks, and much of the SW, were slaves under the PDP!!!! They are much better off today. Anyone who wishes to deceitfully misrepresent this reality is simply a deluded joker who can only gain audience with folks, perhaps like you, who reject the notion of deferring to what the stakeholders themselves have been through and the solutions they are now gaining which was simply non-existent for a long time under the PDP!!!!!!! Which decent Nigerian will support so much negatives noise over a functional and badly needed traffic-intervention bridge from mainly those who saw no reason to deliver anything when they were in power?

Oyo folks and South-Westerners have suffered terrible neglect under the PDP. They themselves, as stakeholders, feel their lives are much better. Why can people like you simply not respect that instead of supporting failed elements who
do not mean well for their own people and who want to make mischief against happy stakeholders and end users? This bridge, for example, brings succour to serious traffic problems the PDP were happy to ignore. Why are you now joining the clamour to give audience to those who criticise a delivered solution when the Party that was ousted believed in doing nothing at all while telling everyone to accept what obtains because of "lack of funds"?

omenka: By the time these men are through with bros J, he'd realize what a political juvenile he is.
This is the bottom line. We can all get as emotional or as biased as we want. Ultimately, there are stages towards 2015 which involves stakeholders alone in the process that churns up candidates for Political Parties.

Many fans of GEJ can come here daily to rant as rabidly as they want but when all is said and done, and validating the notion that "democracy is a game of numbers", it will become clear Blink182 succinctly gets it right with his utterance below. I.e the choice before GEJ is that he forgets 2015 or face a primaries he will lose humiliatingly. For sensible and pragmatic folks, it is over for GEJ mainly because of his original treachery and what he sought to do to uphold that treachery. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive".

That is why, with all the pseudo-victories of GEJ celebrated by his sycophants on NL, I have always insisted that GEJ should gain the PDP ticket and then we can talk. I stated this confidently because I know that, beyond the lies, GEJ has very scant support within the PDP itself because of how it is obvious to all members, from all corners of Nigeria, that he is a sit-tight President willing to destroy what stakeholders gain from just to get his own way. In a Party of the biggest and most desperate disciples of self-preservation, GEJ was always going to lose with his antics of trying to be the lone man standing after all others have been vanquished.

Jonathan will be forced to drop 2015 or contest a primary with others

I don't believe their so called aggrement is more important than the right of nigerians to elect their president. And what could be more treacherous than a 'few' individuals negotiating the rights of a larger population behind closed doors to suit their selfish ambitions huh
You do not seem to get the central point that, in every sphere of life, actions have consequences. You are only interested in putting GEJ in a righteous position while casting others as 'ogres' in the drama. You keep talking of issues that are not pertinent. The so-called 'agreement' affects intra-Party politics and has no bearing with the "right of Nigerians to elect their President" as you wrongly infer. Nothing going on now concerns ordinary Nigerians. Stakeholders in the PDP project are squaring off. Let the best man, or the one acceptable to most members of the Party in this case, carry the day. As simple as that for genuinely democratic men who always defer to the rights of stakeholders to do what they can to defend their interest.

Were you ever going to be a part of the process that churns up the PDP Presidential candidate? No is the answer. You and others can only get involved after stakeholders in all Parties have willingly given majority support to certain candidate who will then represent them at a general election. After the Party process, it is then your turn. Respect stakeholders so you will be respected when also a stakeholder. That is how life works. Whatever your feelings, it is the right of stakeholders to deny GEJ the PDP ticket if they perceive, for whatever reason, he does not deserve it. GEJ and his fans must respect this basic tenet that pays homage to the notion of democracy being a game of numbers. Something GEJ and his supporters should have thought of when they arrogantly took the option of alienating and insulting virtually everyone to include those who helped GEJ become President last time yet.

All you focus on is the usual prejudice against the North via invoking the obvious stereotypes without realising that GEJ now fully embodies those stereotypes. You keep saying all sort of things that show you feel some righteous indignation at the treatment of GEJ by "born to rule elements" yet you never spoke up when GEJ was doing all in his power and abusing his office to bypass elective democracy to dictatorially ensure he is the only man standing unopposed.

How do you expect others to feel and act in pursuit of an ambition their Party constitution grants them the right to pursue when GEJ moves to actualise an autocratic status quo of "no vacancy in the PDP"? What GEJ is doing is worse but you cannot see it. He is directly bullying the entire system and disenfranchising the majority. Only a dishonest man will deny that the PDP does not want GEJ as its 2015 candidate. We have all seen what GEJ is doing to bully his way forward. We have seen sackings (Oyinlola et al) and impositions (Anenih et al) plus open bullying (Ameachi) and a lot of odious actions (16 greater than 19 in NGF election) from GEJ which you conveniently ignore to focus on the legitimate "power in numbers" tactic some are now deploying against GEJ. Had GEJ been fair to his fellow stakeholders, he would not be in this desperate position today. He is no victim even if you cannot see that. Let him face his fellow stakeholders and get their support or rejection.

If people really understand Nigerian politics then they will know OP is correct. No matter how strong, you cannot be a law onto yourself in a "nest of killers". Even amongst thieves there is honour - so the saying goes. GEJ broke that cardinal rule and some will not stop fighting him. It is as simple as that. Expecting the office of the Presidency to achieve miracles is just typical of the minset of many Nigerians who are brought up to fear god, the 'bogeyman' and things/people they generally cannot understand or explain. They deify ordinary men and fill them with mythical powers while ignoring the science and logic of things plus the real strengths of others.

This is why even faced with the notion no man is an IsIand - least of all one who has offended his fellow "thieves" to now be viewed as treachery personified - Some deluded individual still continue to fool themselves GEJ will carry the day as if he is some supernatural being. I continue to say it here that we should wait to see GEJ, through a genuine test of popularity, gain the ticket for a strong and united PDP. When that has not happened and people are talking of "easy win for GEJ in 2015", I only discern naive followers about to learn a lesson. The Americans have already predicted what the PDP is doing to itself currently but Nigerians are simply too sentimental to know it will end in tears for team GEJ. Really amusing how some Nigerians are so sentimental and blinded to the obvious yet those who are not Nigerians easily see what most Nigerians do not/cannot see.

American official says PDP is not a party

The United States does not consider the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party a political party, a US diplomatic cable leaked to the whistleblowing site, Wikileaks, and made exclusively available to NEXT has shown.
Charge d’ affaires of the US embassy in Nigeria, Lisa Piascik, in a dispatch dated October 19, 2007, informed Washington that despite its labelling as a political party, the PDP did not meet “the common western understanding” of a political party.

According to Ms. Piascik, the PDP “lacks key ingredients most political parties share”.
After taking a swipe at the party’s mission statement, the American diplomat proceeded to deliver what is probably the most scathing analysis yet of the PDP.

“The PDP remains an agglomeration of interest groups formed around persons of prominence and power which are loosely tied together by a desire to remain in office and maintain access to the “national cake” or resources of the state”, Ms. Piascik declared.
“The PDP remains a highly fractious and opportunistic coalition of interests. True opposition, in the form of a powerful group with access to the pillars of power, comes from within the PDP - not from without as would be expected in a democratic party structure.”

S
he added that the party, which claims to be the biggest political platform in Africa, has no “ideological consensus” whatsoever and had remained divided from the start.
She also pointed out that the PDP is a party divided within itself with different interest groups jostling for prominence. According to her, the biggest threat to the PDP is within the party itself rather than from the opposition.
“When viewing and interpreting developments such as the scandals surrounding House Speaker Patricia Etteh and Senate President David Mark or the intrigues surrounding investigation of former PDP governors, it is important to remember that the largest opposition to the PDP continues to come from within the party, not without”.

When it suits his belly and paycheck...he is a PDP member and lick-spittle policy evangelist

But at ths time,he is unashamedly an Igbo ethnic bigot and a dirty washerman for a Pull Him Down job of using every conceivable albeit peurile allegation against Ngige

To him Peter Obi's deceit of covering up his corrupt deeds under the veil of zoning Governorship to Anambra North, using Anambra money to oil his selfish and business shenanigans and installing a 'Yes man',a puppet,Lame-duck successor are not enough sins compared with Ngige's
Indeed. Yet this is a new and distasteful low even by his puerile standards. "lagos district officer"? Why pretend? Why not come out, like Peter Obi and Dora Akunyili did, to tell Anambra folks not to vote for the "Yoruba Party"? It really is fascinating to watch the ethnocentric and clannish frenzy being displayed over the Anambra elections.

Ngige has now become, for some, the candidate who must not win because of his association with a Party/ethnic group. It is now open season on slandering and discrediting Ngige because some bigots are happy, without thinking of what is best for Anambra, to embrace failed disaporan and conman Andy Ubah, glorified scammer Ifeanyi Uba or ABN (anyone but Ngige) simply so that the "Yoruba, Lagos, Tinubu, Buhari, Boko Haram" Party does not win.

Absolutely nauseating how some are so bigoted to the extent they are willing to cut their nose to spite their face. I am personally disappointed how the Anambra elections, even as I personally stayed out of commenting on it, has been discussed on this forum by the stakeholders themselves. Nothing educational or related to pertinent issues. Not much at all about the plans of the candidates even from Nairalanders who pretend to be educated and erudite. Just biased gibberish. How is it possible for so many to be so blind to what matters?

eGuerrilla: When are the likes of @OP ever going to evolve into individuals who can speak with candour and relative objectivity, in a manner devoid of self-serving parochial interests. Surely it is possible to hold on to partisan views while maintaining a modicum of truth?

I will leave it up to the NL commentariat to compare the diatribe packaged in that first post with the pragmatism depicted below.

Source
Precisely the point I have made here a million times. I am not surprised you are one of the very few who is of the same opinion. To be partisan, and even very passionately so, is not the issue as many Nairalanders erroneously aver. 'Neutrality' is not necessarily good either in relation to many Nairalanders rushing to declare themselves "neutral" because they assume it is fashionable to be neutral.

Indeed, those who believe passionately in a cause, hobby, pursuit (professional or private) or even relationship with others are those who get the best out of life because they are usually more driven to act in gaining what they want.

The problem comes when, whether neutral or partisan, we entertain lies and deception to uphold our neutrality or bias and affiliations as Insincere9gerian does daily and shamefully on this forum. What on Earth is "Lagos district officer" if not another cheap attempt, with a discriminatory undertone, to whip up sentiments and prejudice the mind of the electorate against Ngige? At the end of the day, the good people of Anambra will have their say whatever the jaundiced input of dishonest charlatans who are driven by egotistic issues extraneous to the need, paramount above all else, for Anambra to gain the best candidate to move the State forward.

To be honest, you guys must look into this conclusively as your spambot has become an annoying nuisance. How can a post that has followed all rules be removed and the poster banned?

Sincere 9gerian: Projects that exists only on paper are meaningless. Let them complete the projects and COMMISSION them like the GOODLUCK JONATHAN Estate that was COMMISSIONED yesterday. We need more of such houses, whether built by direct govt funding or by PPP.

Pls show us the 10,000 houses that have been built in Ogun. Atleast we'v seen the GOODLUCK JONATHAN Estate in Lagos. Let us see the 10,000 housing unit Tinubu Estate in Ogun. Believe me, even if its a PPP project, conceptualised by Pa Awo and ACTUALLISED under Governor General Tinubu, I'll commend Tinubu, provided the houses will be inhabited by Nigerians.
You really should stop this demeaning mischief-making. There are housing estates being delivered everywhere under PPP arrangement even if your clannish mentality means you prefer wallowing in ignorance and pettiness. Lagos, for example, has a dedicated PPP division under which it is partnering the private sector to deliver 10,000 housing unit with many units under construction currently.

…Inspects ongoing housing schemes at Agbowa, others

Determined to ensure early completion of ongoing housing projects in Lagos State, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, last week undertook an inspection tour of some housing projects sited in different parts of the state.

The estates are located at Agbowa Township in the Old Epe Local Government Area, Sangotedo, in Eti-Osa, Ogba, in Ikeja and Ajara in Badagry.

The estates at Agbowa include Chois City Garden, a partnership project between a private developer and State Government and Agbowa Housing Units being developed by the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, MPPUD.

https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Inspection.jpg
Fashola during inspection of housing projects in Lagos, last week

Specifically, the Agbowa Housing Estate is a 660- unit mixed accommodation along Agbowa-Shagamu Road. The estate is just beside the Resettlement Centre for those displaced by flood and other natural disasters in the State.

A breakdown of the different house types shows that there are 80 blocks of single bedroom units totalling 192 units in all; two-bedroom (21 blocks) of 252 units; 3-bed rooms (26 blocks) of 156 units and (15 blocks) of 60 units.

Built in a parcel of land measuring about 11,883.74 acres, the estate is designed to have a shopping complex, playing ground, boreholes, sewage plant and wire mess’ perimeter fence.

On its part, Chois City Estate, located at Imufe-Imope road, along Itoikin-Epe road, comprises two and three-bedroom flats.

In all, 3000 housing units would be built at the site. 400 of these units would be ceded to the Lagos government to accommodate the saw millers displaced at Okobaba in the Ebute Metta area of the city..

Governor Fashola who spoke after the inspection, said his government is also building housing estates at Sangotedo in Eti-Osa and Ogba in Ikeja.

“We are building over 400 housing units here, (Igando), we are building another 400 plus in Ogba, about 500 in Sangotedo and over 600 in Agbowa,” he said, adding that another scheme will soon be flagged of at Ajara in Badagry.

The Governor who stated that another 1008 housing units has being built at Ijora declared: “ We are builders and not demolishers. We are focused; we know where the target is.”

According to him, “The present administration is not made up of showmen. We don’t do turning of the sod. We take our work seriously and this is the work that this new team has put together in one and half years since we got elected. We have not been here but we know the work is going on” .

Continuing, he said: “All those turning of the sod before you build the house are not for us. You can see structures, you can see buildings, you can see people on all those sites where houses are being constructed. In Igbogbo, 1,038 people were working as well as 26 companies while in the first scheme in Agbowa there are about 23 companies and 880 people who have been employed”.

There is another contractor who is using a different model at the Agbowa- Ikosi area for the 144 units. You saw people at the construction site. You see people here dredging and you can see people here working. So that is what is important”.

Bawss1: LOL

The rain fell today. Since it happened under GEJ's tenure then GEJ must be commended for rainfall.

After a while this spin and spell strategy assumes ludicrous dimensions.

Is team GEJ this desperate to score points?

You guys should relax, let GEJ do with the commendation he has received from his direct effort. If he applies some focus there will be many projects that will testify positively about his leadership.

This petty point grabbing is shameful.
Absolutely and this is proof an administrator has no achievements worth commending. Supporters do not need to work so hard when their are proven and undisputed testimony of hard work. All we get with GEJ is propaganda and clannish supporters dedicated to selling that propaganda to the public. the verdict has come in on GEJ and his army of propaganda below from a competent team of Nigerian analyst who have no reason to be anything but truthful. You will not see all these propagandists on a thread like that.

PoliticsRe: Group Scores President Jonathan’s Administration Low. A Must Read !!!!! by Gbawe2: 1:50pm On Jul 20, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The group began from an obviously biased point by stating:

"In the past few weeks, the Nigerian public has been inundated with claims of ‘unusual’ achievements by the administration of President.."

Could a group that started out with the biased mindset that the achievements are "unusual" had come up with any thing different? It is obvious the group was out to achieve PRE-DETERMINED objectives. People with such biased mindset couldn't have produced anything different. No wonder the outcome of such charade could only find a space on Sahara Reporters and company.

Anyway, it is left for the Nigerian people to judge the mid-term report. If the group likened the "unusual" achievements to a half-empty cup, some other unbiased and fair-minded Nigerians may liken the achievements so far to a half-full cup.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin Lame. Predictably lame. Can one expect anything else from an Insincere9gerian? Did I not predict you would come here and try to small-mindedly discredit the messengers, a very competent panel in this case, while ignoring the message? Lo and behold, this is precisely what you have done. I have no doubt you will call the Pope a liar if he scores GEJ low for performance.

anonimi: While we are at YOUR comparison mode, can we also compare the DISPARITY and the gaping ratio between the minimum wage in the US or UK with what their politicians EARN on one hand against the Nigerian minimum wage of N18,000 (that is not even paid completely & promptly) with what OUR politicians RECEIVE from our common wealth every month huh

Did one of the ACN propaganda people tell you this or you made it up yourself huh
How many of the 50 or so countries in Africa have you visited?
How many states (or state equivalents) of those countries have you visited?
Even within Nigeria how many states have you visited?
Based on your very extensive visits to all these states in these countries including Nigeria, what yardsticks, parameters and statistics did you use to conclude that Fash-Ole is the "best performing governor in Africa"

Or maybe you were just simply blabbing.

Given your blabbing statements and conclusions above it is doubtful that you live in the UK where the citizens hold their politicians to serious accountability and every action is analysed to the finest detail.
Maybe like we used to say on campus, you are in the university (UK) but the university (UK) is not in you.
Ask those who knew Surulere where Fash-Ole grew up to tell you how the LOW COST housing there looked like when they were built in the 60s and 70s i.e. 50 and 40 years ago..
When you have their response, please come back here and compare with what Fash-Ole is doing in the year 2013, Misitah I-like-to-compare well, well
Is there no level you will not sink to just to discredit anything to do with Fashola and ACN? You are nothing but an asinine liar. I have proven it before and will do so again as an original Surulere son haven lived in the area for , since for at least 30 years, since I was a little child, till today. Many know me around the Eric-Moore, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Bode Thomas, Iponri axis.

I bet you thought you could throw the Surulere challenge around foolishly secure in the knowledge no one would challenge you. What "Low Cost" estates where better than this? tell us you lying reprobate. Do you know Games Village you lying scum? How is it better than what Fashola has provided here? Is it all those Shitta and Ebute Metta Estates that are better than this you wretched and hateful liar? Iponri Low cost Housing that Jakande built, with all due respect to a leader I respect, is crap !!!! It is perhaps Eric Moore tower that tops this but that was not low cost at all.

Keep lying just to besmirch the character of others to suit your rabid and unobjective hatred that makes you one of the few, on every single thread, who is negative about any ACN delivered infrastructure. You don't stop at been negative either. You lie and fabricate things wildly !!! Tell us the Estates from 40 years ago better than this and show pictures. Lying twerp. You are only incurring the wrath of God/karma on yourself always lying against the good endeavor of others. Hate the ACN if you want but give credit where due or say nothing at all, if you cannot do that, rather than coming here to lie.

The forum can judge for themselves. That is Games Village below that was relatively a 'star' of Low cost Housing back then. Can we all not see how, according to the hateful liar Anonimi, it is much "better" than what Eko Ile shows here?

dridowu: do u believe in wikileaks report, if yes , if any -ve news cmes frm wikileak concerni GEJ AND PDP , pls dnt deny it 4 GEJ
My man, it is not even so much about believing Wikileaks. El Rufai made this statement in 2007, at a time he was a solid member of team OBJ/Yar Adua/GEJ trying to win the 2007 election. He was validating the choice of Yar Adua and GEJ to an American Ambassador and essentially the USA. What was he to say? GEJ is a crook, Yar Adua is terminally ill and OBJ is deliberately helping a dying man and a crooks to lead Nigeria? Did they also not keep insisting Yar Adua was "fit and well"? We should all understand that politicians worldwide, in different measures, all speak from both side of their mouths.

It is for us to discern the truth and anyone not into self-deceit knows GEJ is as crooked as they come. For example, not a single person has been able to explain why fuel marketers licence were issued to literally roadside butchers thus leading to the hideous and unprecedented fuel subsidy scam under GEJ. Only the FG, led by GEJ, and NNPC, under Allison-Madueke, can issue marketers licence. How did the licence get into the hands of people who are obvious scammers? People, go figure.

Worthless , in 2013, making a meal out of a 2007 statement El Rufai made to 'sell' his Party's choice to an important Nation it always seeks support from when real event leaves no one in doubt as to how nauseatingly corrupt GEJ is. David Cameron has openly asked GEJ to account for the massive amount, in a period of relatively high oil price, Nigeria has made selling her crude. Everyday, non-Nigerians are bucking the diplomatic trend to ask Nigerians save their nation via removing this ultra-corrupt and incompetent leader. El Rufai's 2007 'sales pitch' does nothing for the reality of today. As if OBJ, the daddy of all crooks who does not mean well for Nigeria, ever looks for "honest" leaders or is it that he seeks weaklings and crooks he can continue to control by proxy. I think the entire world now knows why GEJ went for Yar Adua and GEJ.

Details of the confidential cable with reference 07ABUJA77, show that the controversial politician gave the endorsement during an interactive session with the erstwhile American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr John Campbell, in the build-up to the 2007 general elections.

Explaining the rationale behind the emergence of late President Umaru Yar Adua and Goodluck Jonathan as the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidates, El-Rufai informed the ambassador that “they were the only two Governors that could have cleared the EFCC hurdles”

The cable further reported El-Rufai as stating that in the contest for the Vice Presidency, “Governor Jonathan was the only candidate that met Obasanjo’s guidelines- honesty and Ijaw”
