ChisomagaOI:I am not sure the Visa Officer is concerned you are getting a loan to fund your studies. The important thing is being able to prove your intentions to study and vacate the US upon completion of your studies. By the way, you can pay up the loan during your OPT and STEM OPT if you land a good job and are not encumbered with other obligations. |

Najdorf:Yes you can. I know a few people who renewed their F-1 visa in Canada. |
Wish them the very best in their pursuit. |
Emmatee1816:You can start and update your DS-160 once you get the necessary information. |
ayodeji4christ:A good way to approach this is to think about what interests you in your field of study. It could be a topic you found interesting in one of your undergraduate courses that you will like to learn more about or a concept you think is worth your time pondering on. This will guide you as you use it in an inverted funnel way. You use that one thing and expand on it to find in what different ways you can explore it. For example, I studied economics. One of the things that I found interesting was National Income right from High School. The reason was the effect Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) had on my family. That was a driving force that led me into thinking I would want to understand how policies are formulated better. Nonetheless, thinking about National Income, Per Capita Income, and the GDP of Nigeria; I thought it will be interesting studying how we might be able to use policy to improve the Oil and Gas sector which was/is our major source of income. Therefore, my research interest went in that direction. I could think of National Income and think more about it from a GDP perspective and think of how Government can improve living standards. This might lead me into Macroeconomics and can guide me in the area of Taxation/Fiscal or Financial/Monetary Economics. It could at the same time make me think of how can we make our industries better perhaps, I am more interested in Economics from an individual/firm perspective and that could make me think of researching more in Industrial Economics to see how firms and individuals interact in the market space. I might also think about it from how government behaviors affects firms/industry decisions. In essence, let your heart think of that one thing that fascinates you and let your imagination guide you as to what you really would want to ponder on and not get frustrated. |
Zee0007:I would have loved to but I am pretty tight cos I have a few people I need cater to this period. You can post the link to your page and I might be able to share with a few friends. |

CornOak: PinkNature:I have been around. I moved location so I do more of the Nigerian meal on weekends when I am with the family. I have a few pictures but I have been lazy to post. I will post the few I have now and will post hopefully weekends when I cook at home. |
Yet the president and his cohorts are oblivious of this. I hope things get better and we find a way to promote export and also, remove the ban on consumable food imports pending when we have a solid plan to start producing. |
Rdfactor:I will suggest you pay and start the application process. If they want you to do dropbox, they will let you know and if they need you to appear for interview, select any date you see, write them to request expedite interview date. |
When I was single, if you ask me, I respond by "My family of orientation is doing fine while for now, I haven't decided to start a family of procreation." |
Barims:So, killing him is the solution? I pity you. tyup:Burning him is never the solution. They could hand him over to law enforcement agencies like the police. |
wentroublecomes:Keep pushing. Try as many legal things you can do to succeed. You could also try to gain some data skills it might be of great help. |
What country were you living before returning to Nigeria? What was the status you guys held in the country? Were you born there? You might want to exploit the possibilities of returning there if you think it is a much saner environment and you can build your life there. |
Was this why Tinubu supported Jonathan in 2011? If this is the true reason then, all our leaders are the same and there is no saint amongst them. |
Yet, we all fight for and worship those who loot us dry. I sometimes get angry when I read topics like this. |
BornAgainCow:Big fat shame on you. You are proud you are cutting corners and would count that as something worth mentioning? You are part of the problems of Nigeria. BigDawsNet:When they beg you for secondary school make you focus for class, you say no. What is the minimum wage in Nigeria and what is it where they buy the pizza for $8? This comparison is the silliest thing anyone should do. May compare in terms of purchasing power parity. tosinhtml:What was minimum wage in 2002 and what is it in 2023? Perhaps, a comparison of those two side by side with their proportional value when compared to housing might help us understand if things have changed drastically. On the housing issue in Canada, I wouldn't want to blame the government because opening up the economy is good however, I think they were not fast enough in their planning for the increasing population. |
The only problem I have with Nigeria is that things are not getting better and unfortunately, we keep allowing the elites play us the way they want to. I started work in 2007 with a salary of a little over N120k which was approximately $950USD as of then. Today, many of those I started with earn between N700k and N1.2m on the average which is approximately $780USD and $1350USD respectively 16 years after. What that means is that some have lost earning power over 16 years while others have only gained about 50% in earnings over 16years. Worst is that the price of things have way skyrocketed between this period. Abroad isn't all rosy nonetheless, it is pretty decent in terms of rising cost and income too is revisited from time to time to ensure people are able to meet minimum living standards. |
The father could pass the same message on how he feels she doesn't need an iPhone 8 in a way that the girl will appreciate and fall in line. |
Good you know what the problem is. You need to start rewarding yourself when you don't succumb and punish yourself heavily when you do. Most importantly, it is in the mind and you need learn to train your mind. |
I remembered saying this was a very wrong investment and someone on this forum called me names and said I was an enemy. Now, loans are been repaid while the investment is not generating revenue to sustain itself let alone pay the loan. |
Iseoluwani:why not take your time to read the entire thread? That way you will be more than equipped with every necessary information to guide you. |
What lesson do you want to teach a 37year old man who chose his path? If you do not support him and the wife he chose, let him be. If he comes around for your blessing, decided if you want to give or otherwise. If he comes for help and you can't render, let him know. |
tunjijones:No, she doesn't need to. It is a ride from the husband and not e-hailing service. |
Is it possible to reach out to the Landlord/Landlady directly? Try to do that as you might be able to reverse the quit notice. |
My mom sold food for years and we don't pay because it is from that food we cook to go sell in the morning that everyone takes their breakfast from. Occasionally, my dad stops by on his way to work and will eat for free. I have said it before, for us it was the family business my mom started after SAP to support my dad who lost his big position and had to take a smaller one. Today, it is history, we all are happy, grateful, and well read. |
FILEBE:I can't remember that one. I used to like the Telefest week where the various NTA stations will act a movie. |
