Shma: This city has a bigger potential if it materializes. It will be one of the greatest, well-planned cities in the world.
If it had more investors early on, it would have been materialised already. I hear though that the water system and much of the basic infrastructural works are done. They just need to speed up on the roads and buildings.
Kazikazi: Dont trust those stupid reports. Imagine someone saying Tz is LCD meanwhile on ground levels Tz is way ahead of all those shitholes
I don't always care much about reports though until I'm totally aware of the metrics used. I know reports and statistics are vital but sometimes we have to look deeper than just the headlines and maybe question how they get their data.
For example, Boko Haram attacks were very few in the last two years compared to 2016. A report telling me otherwise would not convince me easily (no matter the source), because I have been following various media outlets (from varying sources) daily on the situation. I wouldn't take a report that tells me otherwise seriously. Nor would I take seriously a report that tells me that my city warri is more beautiful than Akwa Ibom because facts on ground already tells me that is a lie.
caracas: Chai Liberia is definitely a poor country See president house like my 3 bedroom flat My sofa is even better than this…. True true Nija better pass some country
What if a president decides to have a modest house? If all presidents in Africa use only their basic salary, maybe the continent would have seen more progress than what we currently see.
rvp2018: LDC is based on GDP per capita - and West & Central Africa mineral rich countries have "inflated" GDP but poverty is different story. It's Equatorial Guinea type of mess.
Let's assume you are right for the sake of argument, are you saying East Africans can't inflate GDP and they are saints? Kenya have been accused of inflating GDP and believe you me I was shocked to find out how corrupt Kenya is the first time I looked into it.
Rekay: Lmao…how embassy go work…shey u dey watch news like this
As in ehn, I just don't understand. In my last comment that was deleted, I replied another person who was still asking about travelling to Ukraine. I say Ogbeni you sure say you dey this planet at all abi you dey Mars? you nor dey watch news?
DaInferno: the point is...if you can't destroy I suggests in just 1/36 part of the country, you yave no business trynna face the army of another country. No, its not easy!
You don't get it. Unlike in 2014, the insurgents this time are not coming all out to fight, they just hide then come out to set IED's at the moment. It is not an all out war. All out wars in Sudan, Liberia, and Sierra Leone showed the Nigerian army can fight all out wars. When Chad fought with Nigeria in 1981 after defeating Gadafi's Libya, the Nigerian soldiers taught them a great lesson pursuing them even to their capital. Insurgents are difficult to crack because they are cowards and do not come all out to fight (running from camp to camp or hiding in large forests) so it is difficult even for the U.S except with high quality drones.
DaInferno: you're just ignorant and being sentimental Charity begins at home. How can you be unable to delete insurgents in a country, yet move to defeat another army from a different country. Btw, how do you measure success.
And again...was comparison really necessary. No light, no fuel. Nothing is thriving in Nigeria, just corruption. Am a Nigerian, but fck it!
But insurgents in any country do not fight an all out war. They fight Guerrilla warfare.
AkinDS: Yewande was one of the best goalies in US college soccer at the time for Univ. of Maryland. That fact that at her age, she still has it to be ranked the 3rd keeper for Nigeria is a testament to how good she really is. We need to understand that 38 is not old for a keeper. The three oldest players ever to have played in a world cup, Dino Zoff (ITA), Peter Shilton (ENG) and Pat Jennings (IRE) were well over 40 yrs old. Dino Zoff, at 40 yrs, actually captained Italy when they won the World Cup in 1982. And yes, he played and kept brilliantly against one of the best Brazilian teams ever, with Zico, Socrates and others, as well as the greatest player of all time (IMO), Diego Armando Maradona of Argentina. Italy won both games with Dino Zoff in goal. Gianluigi Buffon tended goal for Italy at 40 also. So there is nothing wrong in having a 38 yr keeper in goal Reality is that Yewande is in fantastic shape for her age and is actually good enough to displace Oluehi.
Even Oluehi herself is not really bad. Also the keeper at the 2016 AWCON (trying to remember her name now) was good as well.
Unlike the super eagles though, the superfalcons rarely have problems with the goal keeping department in the sense that there are always quality options to consider
- A lot more than just 3k deaths in Ethiopia more like 50 000 but let me just also include Mozambique, DRC, CAR, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Chad
- Nope you are the Racist my bru absolutely not a single post or statement from me in the 8 years on NL that is even remotely racist
What's happening in Nigeria is called insurgency, not a war compared to Russia/Ukraine. There is a slight difference.
It's better to make market forces play out than instituting price control... That's a slippery slope.
We did that in the 80s and destroyed our competitiveness and it won't happen again.
Imagine govt telling you to sell your goods at a certain rate that is below your cost price..
You'll be the first to cry fowl
It's like prices are unnecessarily inflated in Accra when it comes to anything real estate or other forms of construction. This project for instance is said to be estimated at a whooping 10 Billion dollars. It's there something unique about this project they ain't telling us.
zukky79: You are wrong. Every benefiting orphanage was visited physically by the disbursement committee and claims verified before cash was disbursed.
And China doesn't give out reckless loans. They give you loan but you never touch the money because the contracts are awarded to their companies to execute.
You get time oh, dey educate keyboard warriors? We live in an age where everyone has an opinion on everything.
Just40: well, the rich pays without flinching ....
You're asking for something dictatorial not done anywhere..
Ultimately it is the consumer that determine the price they are willing to pay for anything.. Ie. Market forces plays a part.
Govt can only set a ceiling rate and a minimum rate.
But then Just 40, even in America how many rich people can afford to pay that for a night? Except you are saying Ghana attracts many upper middle class folks or some corrupt politicians. Do you also think that place would be worth the price?
G4- Involving Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Algeria has been formed and may officially make their announcement in the coming months. The G4 idea was proposed by the Ethiopian prime minister. The G4 may possibly stand for the AU in addressing the crises in the Sahel and other parts of Africa. Since this was the idea of Ethiopia, it is no surprise Egypt was left out.
