This is because the Sun has never moved relatively to the earth. The concept of Night and Day exists because the earth revolves around the Sun. So when the bible said the Sun stood still, it was wrong. For the day to elongate the earth needs to stand still, not the Sun

If the total amount of mass-energy is limited, and the amount of usable energy is decreasing, then the universe cannot have existed forever, otherwise it would already have exhausted all usable energy—the ‘heat death’ of the universe. For example, all radioactive atoms would have decayed, every part of the universe would be the same temperature, and no further work would be possible. So the obvious corollary is that the universe began a finite time ago with a lot of usable energy, and is now running down.





Wow your arguement is faulty on too many lines, i dont even know where to start, let me start at the end.

Being intelligent doesnt mean you can make good moral decisions. Intelligence has nothing to do with morality, they are two different things entirely. We as humans are not just intelligent but are highly creative, we use our intelligence to shape the world the way we like, cure diseases, increase crop harvest, increase our means to communicate etc.

Coming down to the shark being a super intelligent creature, does d shark build houses, do they have hospitals that cure their diseases, do they have devices that helps them explore our habitat like we can do theirs. And by the way we are not the only creature on land, we are not the fastest, we are not the strongest so why did evolution decide to make us the smartest. Sharks are in no way compared to humans in terms of intelligence just accept that we are the greatest evidence of a God.

If your arguement in the first paragraph is true then the smartest creature would be a shell fish, after all a shell fish is the oldest creature. Sea creatures too would be more intelligent cause they were the first to be evoluted. Arguenents for evolution stems from partialism and not real science, you claim that we just started advancing from bacteria, shell fish over millions of years to get to this level but till tomorrow we still have shell fish and millions of bacteria existing yet we have no homo habilis, erectus etc in existence. Who made the decision to preserve the shell fish and to eliminate homo erectus, evolution right and evolution is what exactly. A process that was not set into motion by no one but just came into existence.

I do not need proof of Michelangelo but I am certain if his existence is called into question there may be a grave somewhere.

I certainly agree with you that by inference and it appears the universe has a beginning. However, you agree with me that Energy is eternal, it cannot not be creates nor destroyed. Energy has always been and will always be.

Yet no one worships energy, yet you are somehow saying that a God you have no proof except from the book you claim is his word is eternal.

Why would a shark build a hospital? It obviously does not need to. It is perfectly suited for it's environment. Man lacks brute force and because of the need to survive, man's mental capacity improved tremendously to compensate for being physically vulnerable.

Man is not the apex of evolution, we are just a product of the evolutionary process. Lastly, evolution does not need anyone or any God.

A creative designer emerging out of the void has nothing to do with luck. We all know that everything does not come from nothing, i.e for something to exist it must have a cause. But God doesnt have a cause because it is through him that everything came into existence, he is the uncreated creator.

A DNA particle is extremely small that you would have to magnify a cell 1000 times to be able to see it. Yet it contains so much information, that it is impossible to be able to create that without a designer.

I wonder where the aids were going and which Nigerians were benefitting. If I had my way, I would stop all AIDS coming from UK.
We support UK economy in many many ways. Take out Nigerian students and see how UK tertiary education suffers. We are partly funding our own collective insults.
The article was also quoting some PDP sponsored websites to discredit Buhari. I dont know which university in UK that charges 26000 GBP per year. I studied there, and except Medicine, no other course is charging near 20,000 GBP. None of Buhari's children is known to read Medicine.

Oga Imperial college charges £28000 for an Msc in Electrical engineering. I paid £17500 for an Msc in Subsea engineering at Cranfield University

This is a point in my life where I really need other opinions about my pending decision.
Here are the points:

-I graduated first class some years ago after completing studies at the University of Lagos
-Secured numerous masters admission with and without scholarship and intended to go for masters immediately, but got an attractive job offer with an oil multinational. Took the job offer.
-I've worked now about 4+ years with this multinational and the going has been incredibly terrific. Even with the incredible layoffs in my company and in the oil industry, it looks very likely I'll continue to keep my job.
-Every year I have continued to apply for masters in universities abroad given my intention to really acquire a masters and possibly a PhD degree. Never once accepted any of the offers I have been getting. Simply ignored them. As the years rolled by, the offers are no longer coming as usual. I'm getting turned down by schools.
-This year I have now obtained an offer to complete my masters at the No.1 ranked university in Canada, my desired destination. The only offer I got among the top schools I applied to. No scholarships.
-I'm yet unentitled to study leave

Here's the question: do I quit my job and go complete this masters in a really reputable school or do I stay back in Nigeria and continue slugging it out in the oil industry? Who knows what will come of the industry as the oil price continues to flutter? Who knows how my future might turn out if I leave to go chase the masters?

Here's my decision: Work is getting boring as time races on. I'm not getting any younger. I'm in my very late twenties. I should quit, go chase my masters and embrace any uncertainty that may come out of that. If I'm unable to secure an attractive job I'll go with academics for life whether in Canada or in Nigeria. I might even secure a Canadian citizenship. Canada is a lovely destination where I don't mind spending a large chunk of my life.

My worry: I have a comfortable life here. Why shake the bottle? Why stir the pot? Racism is still rife in these "white" countries. My life could get unbearable mixing in a culture I'm not familiar with.

Any inputs, please.

Dear Op, I am an engineer like you with a Masters degree in Subsea Engineering from England. I will advise you to at least wait till you are eligible for study leave. I can tell you as a matter of fact that outside academia , advanced degrees are not valued much in the UK and Australia (two job markets I know very well) . This is evidenced by the fact that most top engineers I have come across in both countries do not posses advanced degrees and they seem to have outstanding careers.

Even if you move to Canada and get your masters you may end doing low end jobs that surprisingly pay good money but may leave you unfulfilled as an engineer. If you really will not mind becoming a lecturer then go for your masters and your PhD Subsequently ,however remember you will earn a considerably lower income.

My humble opinion is stick with Oil and Gas as tumultuous as the industry may appear now , slug it out.

Monthly environmental sanitations have not improved public health nor cleanliness in Nigeria since its inception in the 1980s.

The government cannot shift it's responsibilities to its citizens in the guise of environmental sanitation. Rather efforts should be made to strengthen sanitation agency at the council level, this I believe will make a visible difference in public health across Lagos
