Mynd44:
So it is not about his silly comment anymore, you had to make this about religion
If you listened to the audio or watched the video, then you should have noticed how many times he swore in Allah's name.

It is also a fact that atheists are more tolerant to other people's lifestyle and choices. Most atheists can coexist with people with different sexual orientations, country, gender, age and religion.

Religion breeds hate

Was she civil when she made those hateful utterances against northern ppl and stoning APC supporters?
She deserves what's coming to her; I have no pity for either her or her husband - the thousands of innocent lives lost, maimed, destroyed and families brutalised cannot be easily forgotten or forgiven.
I hope you have also condemned the statements of the Oba of Lagos as we also condemned Jonathan's uncivilised wife.
PoliticsReligion And Ethnicity: Oba Of Lagos by GeneralShepherd(op): 6:47am On Apr 07, 2015
I have always said it, in the deepest part of religion lies hatred! This same Oba was swearing in the name of Allah about the impending genocide that is awaiting Igbos in Lagos.

His religion has already thought him how to hate other religions, he is just extended that hate to another tribe

It is even more shocking that new polls suggest Nigeria is amongst the most religious country, yet a king and a sizable amount of his subjects are endorsing genocide against a tribe.

Is it not interesting that accommodating countries like UK, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland have atheists in majority?

For the idiots saying Igbos should go back to their land, do you know that Britain that you hypocrites say hate foreigners allows international students to vote? What is this foolish talk about another man's land? Moronic idiots.

Hold your hate, hold your religion, I will love my fellow human being irrespective of race, colour, gender, tribe or religion.

Let us do away with hate and division!

That is the same mentality that has endangered the Igbo species in the North, though we are all Nigerians but rights are not really equal per locations and states within Nigeria. If rights are equal, why would Abia State Government sack Igbos (who are not from Abia) from Civil service?

Why would a Hausa man not be a Governor in Anambra?

We need to face the reality on ground, though the Oba was grossly uncivil in his comment and should be condemned.....
As per our constitution the Abia state government was wrong

V I have since listened to an mp3 voice on sound cloud purported to be that of Oba of Lagos and showing that Kabiyesi uttered those unfortunate words/threats.

If that is true, I really feel it's a very bad moment of indiscretion for Kabiyesi to have said those things. It is totally unjustifiable. People say worse things in hush tones, they are never for public consumption.

In any case, I think it's better for the warring parties to sheathe their swords. As unfortunate as those words are, a party may not emerge from it any better.

You do not travel 100 of miles to a foreign land and expect that you can determine who become their king for them. At least, you do not say it LOUDLY or RECKLESSLY.

Those who recklessly play INTRUSIVE POLITICS should do unto others what they can also accept from others.

As God liveth, AMBODE is the nest Governor of Lagos State and any INTRUSIVE gang-up politics that couldn't save GEJ will not safe Jimi Agbaje who is JUST KIDDING.
Are you people crazy? Foreign land in Nigeria? Are you people stark raving mad?

An Igbo man has the right to vote whom ever he so chooses! Why are we practising false democracy?

I have a relative that lives in the midst of Igbos in Lagos. That area is mostly populated by Igbos. In fact, he is the only Yoruba in his compound.

Beautiful houses everywhere but they are blessed with bad road network. The road is so bad and epileptic that even small car owners avoid that area.

I asked him why they've been neglected for so long and he told me that area voted for PDP instead of Fashola.

When the chips are down, the Igbos would be the ones to suffer the most. They need to be smart and not blinded by sentiments. APC or PDP, vote for your choice not the choice of your kinsmen.

So they can retrace their step and understand that APC is rabidly anti-Igbo. It vindicates people like us. APC must be made to remain a regional party. Nobody can say PDP is regional. That's the advantage PDP will have over APC in 4 years time.
One APC supporter told me on this thread that I am famzing the General!

There is, Jonathan was a minority.
What l think needs to happen is for minorities to "align" with themselves as a block vote and support the best candidate with a proviso that "it will be our turn in so-so years".
I think that agreement can be respected...though GEJ did not respect it.

Democracy is good but unfortunately, it is about the "numbers' such that the majority tend to dominate the minority.
Also, we can enshrine an "affirmative action" in the constitution which says that "A minority tribe must produce the President say every 12years".
The only cache will be that the Minority must produce "THE BEST" they have..... not some mediocre person.

Every tribe has brilliant folks amongst them. I dont even think Jonathan is anything near the best that the S/S can put forward. I will rather an Amaechi than a Jonathan, be president.

Also, with the "eventual" perfection of the Electronic voting system, the ensuring that each Vote counts, l think masses will get to a stage where they will decide they want to vote for a PERSON (say Rochas or Amaechi) irrespective of where he comes from or the party he represents.
Religion and Tribe are what is being used to cause the problems and prevent everyone from thinking straight, right now.

We will get there.

When have they been treated fairly? Those guys have earned every kobo they have. They have never depended on FG handouts. So they earned the right to vote for any party of their choice.

I hate all these hypocritical posts and comments. Didn't they vote for Shagari en mass and what did they get? Didn't they vote for Obasanjo in 99 and what did they get? Did they not vote for Yar 'Adua, what did they gain? They voted for Jonathan in 2011, what did they get? Now that they didn't vote for Buhari, what will they get?

The answer to all of the above is a resounding 'NOTHING'. It is surprising that when the SW voted for AD and AD lost, they were not criticized. The SS, SE and North were the ones who voted for Obasanjo. Did they get any credit for that?

For the first time, the SE voted in an election that the presidential candidate lost, they have suddenly become bad political strategists. They have become haters of the north and SW. In the past, wasn't the SE known for splitting it's vote across many parties? They were mocked for that too. Since 1999, they have embraced pdp and vote according, yet they are still criticized.

Didn't the north and SW vote overwhelmingly for their own? Why the double standard? Even northern pdp members sabotaged their party because of religion and ethnicity. No region or ethnic group should be singled out for contempt. It is so unfair.

Buhari has won. He's the president of nigeria and not that of APC or SW and North. We will all support his effort, from North to South and from East to West. It is that simple. Why make it complicated?

^^^Bros, you have to understand that some are salivating at the prospects of a Buhari that will revert back to his default settings regarding Ndigbo now the elections have been 'won'!

They relish the thought of Igbos being brought down a peg or two as governance at the centre reverts back to how it used to be before GEJ came and gave Ndigbo a seat at the table!

For not voting APC (and for their usual dislike of the 'pesky yeebos') they want to see Alaigbo denied equal level of attention and development other regions are getting.....that should teach them next time to bow down before the 'owners of Nigeria' and their southern helpers!

To cut a long story short, they would just love to see Igbos grovel and beg for the little grudgingly thrown their way!

'ONE UNITED, PEACEFUL AND EQUITABLE NIGERIA'!.....Don't you just love it!! wink
I have always preached tolerance here on nairaland but it's obvious that Igbos are hated for no just cause.

So to all Bigoted Yorubas and Hausas the Igbos have always survived. Even when we had the Senate presidency it was useless to the average igbo man. Most of our own very governors are criminals, case in point Imo and Abia.
