Now I'm fully confident you understand our pain. Ethiopia is a land where watching video via is luxurious. cry
I know the songs I shared to genieluv and others here, but I never in my life have watched it from internet. When you guys say, "oh I like how he dance", I only imagine in my brain while you guys are repeating the video online. If you have known Amhargn, I would have perfectly expressed every single suffering in details to you. Al most everything connected to internet here is pain, pain.....pain. angry

wenedem TayserMahiri, the primary plane is to suffer every second of our life and die. This is what we planned in our board meeting. grin
Now I'm serious. Al most all the political parties are disorganized and have no serious principles, so it's very difficult to support not only TPLF led EPRDF, but also all the parties. Until a serious political party come, it's very difficult to take power from TPLF peacefully. In force, their are already an armed struggle like I told you previously. Since a military struggle will destruct most of the little infrastructures of Ethiopia, it's very difficult to pursue this direction. But if there is no choice, then wenedem see me on TV holding gun. grin

I don't think they have the luxury to spy every Ethiopians phone minute by minute internet activities. Even if they found it and came to me, I don't care, I don't care. TPLF has destroyed my family life previously(seriously). The only thing I knew from age 9 is pain, so me and my family have been continuously punished by pain again and again and now they can come and finish me once and for all.
Kk. ....buh Ednited never complains of data much. Why?
How does personal internet subsription work in your country?

Exactly, if we can go back to the regional system when we were amongst the fastest growing economies in the world then without oil.
Let the regions control things more and not depend much on oil, you would see even sokoto people would discover their talents and little resources to survive and move ahead.
Unfortunately the oil money enjoyed by the elites might be the reason they don't wanna restructure.
I strongly believe restructuring will come to Nigeria very soon. Most middlebelters r now coming to see reasons why we need restructuring.
By the time the southerners n most middlebelters will stand for restructuring unequivocally, it must happen. The magnitude is growing stronger.

Nothing to be proud of in those numbers, you see where Indonesia is? That's where we should be. In 2050 Nigeria will be the third most populous country after India and China, do not celebrate mediocrity. We should have an economy larger than Indonesia's at that time if we are to be seen as a success, simply being the biggest in Africa is no longer enough.
Shaytun, i think this guy here is very correct.

*** By 2050, Nigeria will be approximately 440 million people as the 3rd most populous country in the world. So, going by your GDP estimate, our GDP per capital would be approx. $10,000 n we would still be classified as a middle income economy just the way countries like Brazil are today.
If we cannot catch up or even surpass countries like Indonesia at that time, then i don't think it is worth much celebration, cos even today Indonesia is not so much ahead of Nigeria economically, why should they give us a gap as high as $6 trillion in the future?

Menelik said that for political reasons and the belief that Abyssinians are descendants of Menelik I(son of King Solomon of Israel and Queen of Sheba of Ethiopia).

Good explanation!
How do those Kings/emperors get their income nowadays?
Was the country Benin part of the Benin empire back then?
Was there a plan by the Gov't to eliminate the Kings in the past after the Nigeria became independent?
Kk.

The kings are being paid salaries by the state/federal governments. The kings also receive lots of monetary gifts n kind gestures from their subjects, aspiring politicians n succesful business people who want to get their blessings n support. ....I also think investors, both local/foreign also show them kind gestures, cos these kings usually sometimes have powers n ownership over most/many indigenous lands in their territories.

>>>>No, the country Benin was never part of the Benin empire, buh i think some kingdoms over there like Dahomey kingdom were subjects to Oyo empire (in Nigeria).

••••Heck No! How could the gov't think of such a thing? The British colonial masters recognized our traditional rulers very well even after conquering them and they used these rulers to administrate the people indirectly. More traditional rulers were even created n upheld by the British. So, there was no way we could do without them even after independence.

So, is it means that they migrated from North Africa a false claim or is it just they first migrated to Senegal from North Africa and then some of them later migrated to other west African states?
Holly the fulanis are believed to be a product of intermixure of ancient west african tribes and berbers, just like the Touaregs, however their black west african genes dominate n they speak a Black west african language unlike the Touaregs with a dominantly berber ancestry, culture n even language.

**** The fulanis can probably be likened to you Habeshas who are a mix between cushitic black africans n immigrant semitic middle-easterners. Except that in the fulani case the black african genes, origin n language dominate n the berbers who form their other ancestry are also 100% africans n not middle-easterners (asians).

Yaaah, most kwararafan descendants n the fulanis have a terrible relationship n even till date it is still very very bloody. Cos the fulanis stole n settled parts of our lands n our farmers n their herdsmen also clash over land rescources.

Have you ever heard of Jenne-jeno or Dhar Tichitt?

The ancient city of Jenne-jeno was settled along the fertile Niger river in 3 phases. It was first settled from 250 BC to 50 AD and then from 50 AD to 300 AD and last from 300AD to 900 AD. By 9th century AD, the city was protected by a wall. It was abandoned and later moved to the modern day city of Djenne. The modern day Djenne started out as a medieval city and hosted the great mosque of Djenne. Djenne-Djeno including the archaeology site and the old city with the mosque are recognized by UNESCO.

Dhar Tchitt is even older and it was settled around 2000 BC to 500 BC. The city of Tchitt is also a UNESCO site.

Here Djenne pictures depicting the terracotta art, pottery, and architecture of a mosque and a house. The last picture is from Tchitt.

My explanation was for the sake of simplicity, I didn't want to complicate things. It seems you are more interested in an in-dept analysis.
Yes, I know Kirdi is a derogatory term especially among the Fulanis, but among others from the rest of the country, Kirdi just refers to the minority ethnic groups living in the North of Cameroon. As for the bolded, there was a Kirdi "zone" in parts of Adamawa and Taraba. The term Kirdi in the region dates back to around 19th century with the advent of the Fulani's Adamawa emirate and colonization. Parts of today Adamawa and Taraba state were the British Northern Cameroons before they were united with Nigeria. Also, "Kirdi" ethnic groups like the Fali are found in both Nigeria and Cameroon.

Yes, I know the term Kirdi is also not as common as it was. The Fulani became the dominant ethnic group and political force in Northern Cameroon, so the term stuck more. Even in Cameroon, many "Kirdis" have opted for Christianity or Islam like Nigeria. Many tribes that have converted to Christianity or Islam are still called Kirdi. The major difference between those in Cameroon and those in Nigeria is the popularization of the term in Cameroon as opposed to Nigeria.

Yes I am aware of the Christinizition trend among many historically "Kirdi" groups, but there are many who haven't been fully Christianize yet. Also, it's not just Christianity that's spreading to them, but also Islam. While those ethnic groups you listed are majority Christian, some have notable Islam minority like the Marghi for example. In and around Mubi, there are "historical" ethnic groups like Nzanyi and Gude who are mixed in terms of religion or majorly Muslim. There are some "Kirdi" who are predominantly traditional adherents like the Koma, who used the Mandara mountains as a sanctuary.
Yaaah, i understand you dear n you are correct.

*** Just that don't expect a northern christian to go likely with you classifying any of us as part of Kirdi. Lol

Apart from the Koma who were recently discovered, i doubt you will still find any Adamawa or Taraba community which is predominantly traditional religiously. The best you can find are those who mix tradition with christianity/islam.

** Yah, the marghis have about 1/3 muslim population in Adamawa buh in Borno they r overwhemingly christian. Another thing is that many so called marghi muslims today are actually marghinized fulanis.
You are very correct about the Nzanyi n Gude. Buh i'd tell you that the tribe with the largest muslim population (not by percentage tho) in Adamawa has to be the Chambas, Kanakurus n perhaps Kilbas n Yungurrs. ...Verre people are predominantly muslim n have been heavily fulanized.

Monarch rule in Ethiopia ended in 1967 EC(1974 GC) when Atse(emperor) Haile Selassie I was deposed. Here are some of our previous Atses(emperors).

EMIR OF KANO (King of the most populous n largest hausa n muslim city/state in Nigeria)
OONI OF IFE (apparently the spiritual head n overall traditional leader of all yoruba people)

Could you tell me some of the achievements of your ancestors kingdoms?
Hmm, achievements of our ancestors kingdoms. Hmm, what can i really say here.

Holly most of our Kingdom cities were burnt to the ground by war. Benin kingdom city was burnt to the ground by the British who were so shocked to see that black africans could be this civilized, cos, of course, they always wanted to justify their reasons for colonizing africans claiming africans were all savages.
After burning benin down, they looted the most precious artefacts to London museums (where they are kept till date).

****Kanem-Bornu empire capital city (Ngazargamu) which was centuries old with city walls n some great architecture was also burnt to the ground too, but by the fulani jihadists around the early 19th century.

>>>>The continous wars, invasions n relocation of empire/kingdom capitals among other Nigerian kingdoms n also the british led to complete loss of most of the ancient architectures of Nigerian kingdoms.
For example, Kwararafa kingdom (which i descended from) conquered n enslaved the people of Igala kingdom n also destroyed their capital. Later on, we the Kwararafans were also displaced by the fulani jihadists (buh never fully conquered).

To know best about the achievements of Nigerian kingdoms. Try to study about
**The Bini empire
** The Oyo empire
** Kanem-Bornu empire
** Igala kingdom
** Kwararafa confederacy
** Nri kingdom
** Sokoto sultanate
** Borgu n Nupe kingdoms

Then for other West african Kingdoms

** Mali empire (you already know right?)
** Ghana empire (Ghana)
** Songhai empire (Mali/Burkina faso)
** Ashanti kingdom (Ghana)

Kenya has culture just like Nigeria, so I am not here to argue that. I have heard if the Samburu before especially a few years back for the creation of all female village called Umoja. The truth is, there are a lot ethnic groups in Nigeria and Western Africa alike who predominantly practice their native religions. For example, there is a cultural region in parts of NE Nigeria and Northern Cameroon known as Kirdi with dozens of ethnic groups who adhere to their native ethnic religions. In fact, the word Kirdi means Pagan in Fulani because when the Muslim Toroobe Fulani settled in the region and attempted to convert the locals, they were very resistant to their Jihad.

Also, there are many ethnic groups in Nigeria like Hausa or Igbo who are predominantly Christian or Muslim, However there are also many who are mixed in terms of religion like Yoruba, Igala, Etsako, Gbagyi, etc. Even among the Hausa and Igbos, you can till find notable indigenous element like Maguzawa or Odinani respectively.

Similarly in Kenya, you have ethnic groups that are predominantly Muslim like Somali or Swahili and ethnic groups that are majority Christian like the Kikuyu. You can also find those who are mixed like Oromo and those that are majority traditional adherents like the Samburu.
Wonderful analysis from you as usual.

****Buh just to correct some things in your first paragraph to TayserMahiri about North-east Nigeria, there was never a kirdi zone in Gongola (North-east Nigeria). This only existed n still exists in northern Cameroon, where all the non-fulani northern minority groups r classified as 'kirdi' (the derogatory name) ethnically n heck even nationally. So pathetic!

Yes, fulanis might have called Gongola tribes 'Kirdi' in the past buh that name has probably died many decades ago due to the linguistic hausanization of the region, heavy christianization of the so called 'Kirdi' tribes n the political classifications of Nigeria.

Lemme explain the 3 points further.

**** Hausas call all non-hausa minorities in the north as KABILU (meaning tribes or people of tribes), so, most north-east fulanis who also face hausanization have largely adopted that name to adress their surrounding tribes long ago. Or better still, if they want to go islamically, they adress the tribes (the christian ones, mostly as ARNA or KAFIRI) meaning 'infidels' as we all know, n this name really applies to all non-muslims in the world, so, to be specific, they localize by saying 'Arnan arewa' or 'Arnan Adamawa' or 'Arnan Taraba' (depending on their states).

**** Now in the aspect of christianity n politics, Most formerly Gongola pagan tribes have been heavily christianized since 100 years ago by christian missionaries, so the name Kirdi could really no longer apply unlike in northern cameroon where the kirdis over there still have many pagan n non-christian peoples n are relatively primitive.
Missionary work really fluorished in Gongola axis n today the christian tribes r the majority there, most of them are also now more educated than the fulanis themselves n some large tribes like the Kilbas, Marghis, Bachamas, Higgis n Chambas there even absorbed some fulanis culturally n linguistically.

>>>>So, most north-eastern fulanis had to adjust n take up the islamic arewa identity (which the British definitely helped them to propagate through indirect rule alongside the hausas) in order to keep the christians in check, if not they would have been swept under the carpet completely by these tribes they call 'Kirdi' derogatorily.

So, a lot of things have not really favoured fulani superiority in Gongola axis unlike the way fulani superiority is almost absolute in Northern Cameroon n they can keep on calling the tribes Kirdi, discriminating n dominating them forever.

Other Cushitic languages.

Amhargn is relatively similar with Agew languages compared to other Habesha languages, since most of it's Cushitic characteristics is from Agew. Amhargn grammar structure is completely Cushitic-Omotic, but it's still a Semitic language. By the way, Amhargn is the least Semitic language in the world to show Semitic behaviors. Amhargn is also more similar with Argobbagn(Semitic language) than any other languages.

Tigragn is also affected by Agew languages, but not like other Cushitic languages like Beja, Shano and Afar.

Other Semitic Habesha languages like Guragegn and Harargn has also been affected by Agew languages at a certain extent.

Geez language(Semitic) is one of the many mother languages of Amhargn, Tigragn, Guragegn and Harargn. It has also been affected by Agew languages.

No, it isn't. Even the place in the video is a city/town. It's weird, but it's. There are also other cities/towns in other Agew areas of Agew Awi and Quara.

I would guess 15-20% urban and 80-85% rural in all Agew areas.

Yes, there is. For example, our national food "Injera" was first invented by the Agews and later it was shared to Abyssinians and other Ethiopians. The Ashenda festival I mentioned it to you previously was also invented by Agews and shared to the Tigrays. I'm sure there are also others they shared to Habeshas, because large percentage of Habeshas DNA is Agew.

No, it was built in the early years of the 13th century AD.

The Portuguese had seen it in the 16th century, but when more Europeans started to see it in the 19th and 20th century, those racist Europeans said, how can this unique architectural Churches be built by black Africans? No, either it must be built by Egypt-Syrians or Ethiopians aren't black Africans, but a black Hamitic-Semitic mixs Caucasian.
You see how they degrade Africans. They forgot they were savages living in caves when much of Africans were in great civilizations.
Holly this is great.

**** Your last paragraph got me rolling on the floor. cheesy
''egypt-syrians, black hamitic-semitic mix caucasians' Lol grin
I never knew you were such a funny person.

Well, these Europeans can try to deny the empires of Horn africa by watering down the africaness or blackness of Horn africans just as they did the ancient egyptians buh they hell cannot play with that of West Africa.

>>>>The richest man that ever lived in the world MUSA MANSA of the mali empire was a very black west african and the University of Timbuktu built in the 12th century, one of the first in the world was also built in West africa by west africans. Lol

Very beautiful!
1st and 3rd look they are siblings.
I understood that northerners are majority Muslim and are relatively lighter than the southerners.

You also northern and looks beautiful by the way wink
Well northern nigeria is very big, the core-northern parts are overwhemingly muslim while the central northern parts are like a 50/50 or slighlty christian dominated.

***** Would i really say northerners r relatively lighter than the southerners?
Well, among the poorer people, i would say northerners r darker cos the heat of the sun is more extreme in the north n the humidity is lower. So, poorer northerners who are mostly farmers n till the ground day n night under this scorching sun tend to be darker.

However, among the educated rich n middleclass population, i'd say northerners tend to be lighter (especially the women), cos due to the conservative nature of northerners, the women do not really hussle or work hard unlike most southern women who work harder n equally provide for their families almost as much as their men.
So, rich northern women are mostly pampered n always stay indoors, n when they manage to come outside, you see them looking like this.
