They won't comment on this thread because their brains isn't yet matured to reason intelligently as required by Jiti Ogunye's piece.
Forgive them for their brains is only meant for them to hide behind their computers and utter unintelligent talk.

PoliticsRe: Standing Order Used For Saraki Election A Fake, Say Ex-senators by GenOrumov: 12:00pm On Jul 19, 2015
chukwudi44:
It is the perogative of the NASS bureacracy and not senators to create or amend house rules!!! The house rules for each NASS is unique and created by the clerk prior to the inauguration of that particular house. That is why we have senate house rules 1999,2003,2007,2011 and 2015

No senate commitee or constutional amendment team sat down to create the house rules for 1999.It has always been the perogative of the clerk to prepare the house rules for the incomming senate.
In the words of Senator Ike Ekweremadu

“Just as I said in a statement a few days ago, we will not be intimidated and will do everything democratically possible to protect the independence of the

He washed his hands off the allegation, saying at the time the said Senate Standing Rule/Order 2015 was made, he had ceased being the Deputy Senate President and so was no longer a principal officer to have contributed to the making of the document in question.

He said the making of a new Rule/Order for a new Senate or House was entirely the business of the National Assembly bureucracy, asking those striving to frame him up to look elsewhere.

He said: “Let me just explain here that every National Assembly, that is every Senate or House has its Standing Rule/Order as every Standing Rule/Order normally has a life span of four years. So, if you go to the Office of the Clerk to the National Assembly now, you are likely to find Standing Rules/Orders of 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and the current 2015.

“From the point of the valedictory session of the 7th Senate on 4th June, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Distinguished Senator David Mark and the rest of other members of the 7th Senate ceased to be senators until the 9th of June, when the 8th Senate was inaugurated; and as usually done, the new senators received new Standing Rule/Order 2015.

“The making of that 2015 edition of the Senate Rule/Order is the business of the bureaucracy of the National Assembly. What the 8th Senate can do, which its predecessors have sometimes done is to amend as suitable. And the process of the amendment is spelt out in the that document~ DSP Ike Ekweremadu

Anyone who wants to challenge the status quo should simply go to court
Are you saying that you can change rules without informing the people the rules are meant for berore the constitution of the new assembly?

My dear, the cbn must rely on the efficiency of so many other agencies to achieve its objective. How effective are d agencies?

Only one example - why did Customs remove textile and furniture from import prohibition list?

Another one - why is Min of Trade not embargoing the importation of frivolous items?

It's a long story/debate. I don't know how interested you are
I totally agree with you. That is where the government of the day has to be strong and put in mechanisms to harmonise all the approaches that have to be taken to ensure the demand for foreign currency reduces.

I will pretend not to have seen your insults.
The said theives, where do they come out, South, East, West or Northhuh.
Which Nigerian Ethnic nationality leads in the BDC business, South, East, West or Northhuh
Which of them buys the most dollars, South, East , West or Northhuh
I have no doubt that the answers vindicate my strongly held convinction that our fallen Naira rate is the result of deliberate attempts by the Northern Cabals to discredit a CBN man from the South.
At the fullness of time this cabal will visit the president and mount pressure on him to change this man which is what he will do without a second thought and replace him with a childhood retired 1970 banker.
Apologies to anyone who feels offended to hear this blunt truths.
Is it only the BDC's that determine the exchange rate or are in the Forex business?
Wasn't the naira sliding before the recapitalization of the BDC's?
Are the investors only from the North?
Are the importers only from the North?
Are the Northerners the only ones that conduct businesses with forex?
I no reason to debate with you or to educate you because i see you have made up your mind on viewing the economics of exchange rate from a tribal angle. Even though your opinion should not be discarded with the wave of a hand, economics has nothing to do with tribe so quit the sentiments. If the CBN governor is removed, it is because he has failed to do the job that was expected of him which is to stabilize the naira and in my opinion i think he's trying his best

I concede to your argument, but you have to understand how inevitable this decision is, just take a look at the Greek debt crisis, they would have devalued their currency a long time ago assuming they are not under the Eurozone.

And yes, Nigeria is not an ideal society, but somethings are inevitable. Not devaluing it will only exacerbate the whole issue.
It may be inevitable but at this time it is not an option. You and I know that whatever goes up in Nigeria hardly comes down. Devaluing the Naira should only be carried out WHEN WE HAVE EXCEEDED ALL OPTIONS.

The FGovernment now has to put measures in place, accelerate it and follow it down to the letter.

Aboki change my dollar
$1 for N242
Aboki refused but only to me at $1 for N185
But when I returned to buy same dollars I sold, I bought at N245 to $1
So, it goes to show that this dollar issue is only a sabotage by the Northern BDC operators against a South-eastern CBN governor.
It is the case of giving a dog a bad name so as to hang him.
Soon Mr. President will terminate the appointment of the governor. Then the coup would have succeeded.
Buhari can never be trusted if he continues his divisive governance.
Either you are plain ignorant of what basic economics is in a country like Nigeria where things are upside down (which is caused by greedy people) or you're just not knowledgeable in anything.

What is happening wasn't caused by northern BDC's just for the sole purpose of discrediting the CBN governor but by thieves and greedy people who want to make quick bucks by forcing the naira down by all means and knowing they can get away with it because its Nigeria.

Even if a foreigner heads the CBN, these crooks will do the same thing over again. They won't have a problem with any CBN governor notwithstanding wherever he's from so far he allows them have a field day against Nigeria's economy and the naira.

Currency depreciation is normal.

Sometimes depreciating the currency is inevitable, China once devalued their currency by 38 percent, it it becomes too bad, inflation becomes a rule.
Devaluing will only work in an ideal society but you and I know Nigeria is not an ideal society.

Further devaluing of the naira will practically kill Nigerians while investors will so rape the naira that it may sky rocket to N350 to 1 dollar. I don't have to tell you what that implication will mean for Nigerians and its economy.

The DSS official was said to have replied thus:

“Should I stand up and be dancing because you want to see the Deputy Governor?”

This infuriated the Chief Press Secretary and he was said to have slapped the securityman and left straight for his office without seeing the Deputy Governor.

PoliticsRe: War Against Okada Riders To Resume In Lagos by GenOrumov: 4:34pm On Jun 30, 2015
Those okada riders have turned themselves to become a menace to us other road users. They have taken over every street corner and junction and block car owners from having free passage

I'm sure a census of them will reveal they are more than the ants in lagos state. The census will further reveal that most of these drivers are Hausas, Nigeriens and Chadians. They speak little or no english so I avoid asking them for directions.

The restriction of their operations should be carried out asap before they block every available space in Lagos.

PoliticsRe: Statement From PDP Governorship Candidate Who Allegedly Removed Transformer by GenOrumov: 11:01pm On Apr 14, 2015
People are fast to post fake news all in a bid to be the first to break the news without confirming if the matter is true or false nor getting to the root of the issue and this social media thingy has now become a tool to spread evil news and rumours faster than the speed of light.
Even if this particularly case is true, subsequent issues should be properly investigated before it is reported as news before it misrepresents/misinterprets and eventually end up painting the parties involved black unjustly.

He initially won many battles but lost the war in Rivers State though he didn't end up with a serious bloodied nose. But trust me, he's going to Abuja to reinforce and then come back to fight his enemies since he never gives up. This is just the end of Round One, he's going to be fighting this war for the next 4 - 8 years and the backing he will have from Abuja will enable him sustain the tempo.
PoliticsRe: Photo: Have You Seen This? by GenOrumov: 7:27pm On Apr 10, 2015
I have come to like the guy by providing me a comedy relief anytime I look at his poster.
Over the past few weeks of seeing this guys posters in different parts of Lagos, I believe the guy is a serious guy compared to other clowns who have just one poster in the whole of lagos therefore I doff my hat for him.

He shouldn't be mocked but should be encouraged because he's just exercising his right. All the best to the guy in his future endeavor after the election.

@ liljboy, 9icetoo and marpol. If you guys are just noticing that that Mobil filling station is notorious for sharp practices, then I will say welcome to Lagos.

I was scammed by them way back in 2011. "It was nepa has taken light trick that was used on me."

Infact I consider all Mobil stations to be rogues. I can never buy fuel from Mobil again in my life unless there is fuel scarcity and my gauge is on empty.
