TonyeBarcanista:
I'm suspecting these APC people. Timipre Sylva how far?
sosanova:
Slyva really desperate...first his boys kidnapped Governor Dickson Sister and now they have kidnapped a serving commissioner.
criminalmindz:
Apc finger print all over this
Wasn't his mother kidnapped way back in October this year and his uncle too kidnapped sometime back.

Or its APC and him that orchestrated that also?

Since its politics and I recognise how the opposition should play the game but this comment of yours accusing them without evidence shouldn't be part of it.

The govt must do everything to arrest this development because this is hurting businesses.
Unfortunately it seems devaluation is the way to go but until it seems its inevitable and have gotten to the brink, the naira must not be devalued.

CBN must put in measures to protect the naira and nigerians.
BusinessRe: Nigeria’s Crude Oil Exports Dropped By N372.8bn In Third Quarter – NBS by GenOrumov: 9:08am On Dec 18, 2015
CrazyMan:
Crude oil is sold on the international market for less than $40 per barrel. Therefore it would be myopic to rely on that to run the economy considering the fact that we've lost most of our top customers.

What the buhari administration should do is to get our refineries running, and even build more. Yes you heard me right...!!! We need to build more refineries. The money recovered from the last administration should be enough to to do that.

Let's discard this mentality of looking for foreign buyers for our crude when the larger percentage of our population are crying daily for refined products.

Let's refine this crude here in Nigeria, consume it locally and sell some to Neighboring African countries.

I'm sure that the money the government would make from the local consumption of the refined crude oil products would surpass what we were likely to make if we sold it as raw crude. And it should be enough to finance the country's budget if managed properly.
You have spoken well and I hope the government can think in that direction but It seems you are not getting some things correctly.

1. Are you aware that a refinery costs in the region of $2.5b upward to build? Do we even know how much has been recovered by this government that you say it should be enough to build "more refineries"? Since oil prices have reduced but the cost of building a refinery won't reduce, won't it be a bad investment decision if the govt goes ahead to build new refineries when it won't make the expected profit margin?

As it is, government should hands off building new refineries but invite private investors to do that.

2. As it is, running a mono-economy (especially when its even crude oil) in this age will never be able to finance our budget.

If yes, abeg enter dock. You will soon be jailed.

PDP really ruined the finances of this country and Fayose and Ekweramudu et all (including Ben Bruce) have the guts to accuse Buhari of running the Nigerian economy aground? They must be jokers!!

sunni muslims all over Nigeria block roads whenever they're praying and no one says anything. Why is their case different? Or is it because they're shiite?
I wasn't even referring to the shiites because I don't know much about them.

My grudge is simply against anyone who blocks the road be for political, religious, civil or party reasons thereby making other people not involved in their activities going through stress using the road that supposedly belongs to everyone.
PoliticsRe: Why We Attacked Zakzaky, Other Shiite Members – Nigerian Army by GenOrumov: 7:47am On Dec 14, 2015
I wonder why a group of people will block the whole road thereby preventing others from moving and they will say they are fighting for their rights.

A couple of weeks ago, I spent a couple of good man-hours in traffic because of a bunch of protestors.

In the cause of fighting for your rights, kindly don't deny other people their own rights.

Nigerian president? He can never all things being equal!!

Maybe South South president .

Even ordinary Bayelsa he couldn't clinch the PDP governorship ticket in 2011.

He's got a lot of theoretical ideas which may not be practicable in Nigeria. He's at best a senator but not a presidential material in Nigeria. Though he's needed to put politicians on their toes and he seems to be doing it well.

This really funny, I thought Hon. Faleke has resign his membership in d House of Rep. B4 going for election in kogi state, what are pple of Ikeja Federal constituency looking, it means he has abandoned d mandate they gv to him for the past months campaigning in kogi state. I think he shd b recall frm the House of Rep. n replace him with person that wil b focus abt their constituency.... That's my opinion though
Our constitution allows for serving house of assembly, house of reps and senators to aspire for governership positions. They are allowed leave to pursue that aspiration and still return if they failed in that quest.

Examples of serving House of Reps members who contested for Governorship seats

1. Seriake Dickson - current Governor of Bayelsa. He contested and won and vacated his seat in the house.

2. Uche Ekwunife - contested for Anambra Governorship election against sitting Governor Obi when he contested for a second term. She lost and subsequently returned to the house.

3. James Faleke - House of rep member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos state but contested as Deputy Governor in Kogi state his state of origin. If he his still interested in the seat come January when Yahaya Bello is sworn in, he will vacate his seat in the house.

In my opinion, Faleke can afford to forfeit the Deputy Governorship seat in Kogi state because he already holds a plum position as a Federal House of Reps member, that's the reason for his attitude (shakara) towards that seat. Under normal circumstance, a Nigerian politician will jump at that offer.

There are several other cases which I can't remember at the moment.

Let start to call a spade a spade, all looters across the 36 states of the federation MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.
Don't forget that all the 36 states are entities on their own like the Federal Government.

Therefore The FG cannot leave the criminals who looted money meant for the FG and start chasing the looters in the states. That is the job of the Governor and the State House of Assemblies.

Didn't you about ear the case of a Commissioner in Adamawa State sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for looting. That was carried out by the state's Assembly and the court.

Therefore all states should setup their own enquiries and do the needful.

The spirit of Fayose in all you politicians will not let you people reason objectively.

So the election of Kogi is still inconclusive right. And a winner has still not been announced by inec?

If you still can't decipher my point, maybe. My point inec has to satisfy the electoral act and laws. Period!!!
PoliticsRe: Fayose: Everything Under Buhari Is ‘inconclusive’. The Cable. by GenOrumov:
In as much as all Fayose's criticism of Buhari always lack intelligence and is just filled with rubbish so as to sustain the opposition, I still enjoy reading the trash he always has to say.

Let's look at the the two elections of Kogi and Bayelsa states conducted by INEC under Pres. Buhari

Case 1: Kogi State

Why did inec declare the election inconclusive?

The electoral act says and I summarise that, for a candidate to be declared the winner of an election, he must have the majority of votes cast. Now in the case of Kogi, some votes were cancelled and it was discovered that the number of total cancelled votes that fell under the affected polling units was more than the margin with which the person with the highest votes led.

So what do you expect inec to do? Announce the winner like that and you will still accuse them of doing a poor job or favouring a party over another.

Case 2: Bayelsa State

Despite it being one of the smallest states in the country ( I also confirmed that fact just a few weeks ago on my first visit to the state for a business opportunity). With just 8 Local Governments, a population 1,998,349 (according to wikipedia) and total registered voters of 663,748 out of that number. And also 1806 polling units. With these statistics, it is expected that conducting an election there should be an easy task for inec.

Unfortunately, the state has got a difficult terrain because of its riverine and estuarine setting and particularly because the the election is seen to be a battle to be won at all cost by the two major parties in the contest. For the latter, there were several cases of violence and ballot snatching in many polling units in some LG's particulary that of Southern Ijaw LG.

We should then ask what is special about Southern Ijaw LG that it recorded a lot of violence and ballot snatching than other LG's.

Southern Ijaw LG is the LG with the highest number of registered voters. It was reported that it alone has a whooping 25% of the whole registered voters in the state. Hence the do or die attitude by supporters of both parties.

Due to the incidence of violence and ballot snatching, people could not come out to exercise their right. Therefore in this case also, what do you expect inec to do? Cancel the election in that LG then go ahead to announce the winner as the candidate with the highest number of votes while leaving out a huge number of disenfranchised voters? If this had happened we will all also blame inec for doing a shoddy job.

Final verdict: Going ahead to announce a winner with the circumstance of both elections will amount to them going against its own laws therefore INEC was right to declare both election inconclusive.

I concur he must be questioned.

But as a former President and so as not to overheat the polity, he should be questioned at home.

Nigeria has nothing to lose buy questioning him at home because he has nowhere to run and he has no reason to hold anything back. Infact he will be glad to spill the beans on these corrupt guys. He has nothing to lose now and he can payback these guys who have deserted him now that he has been asked to go back home.

Won't want to call this karma but the north's problem is caused by north alone. With all the political dominance of the north, its citizens are still living in abject poverty coupled with high illiteracy while the peasants still defend the few elites embezzling all their supposed wealth.
Unfortunately, those peasants didn't choose to be Northerners nor you and I chose to be Southerners.

As for Northerners defending the few rogue elites. I tell you that it is us the Southerners that defend the rogues among ourselves more than Northerners. Take for example he's our brother that we southerners shouted from 2011 - 2015.

The arms scandal that saw Dasuki and a few other people arrested. Isn't it a Northerner that is spearheading the campaign? But I trust if all of them were Southerners, we will have shouted its a witch hunt/northern persecution etc.
