Iamagoodgirll: So I came across this post in a group
NL guys have you experienced this?, also share your view.
I NEED ADVAISE FROM A MALE READERS:
And no, my story is not made up. It’s for real, actually very real. I am a top executive of a very successful conglomerate my father founded. I resumed the job early this year when I returned from the U.K after completing my MBA. As a result of my job, I usually find myself frequenting places I ordinarily wouldn’t want to- Ikoyi club, society weddings, conferences, etc. I’m a geek for the most part, and something of a recluse. I would rather stay in my house at the end of day and watch TV. When I became Deputy CEO of the company, I realized that I had to start hanging out at these places to build a social circle, mostly for business reasons. I am not a very sociable person, but with the help of my more outgoing cousins, I have been able to build a pretty decent network of Lagos ‘big boys’ between January when I returned and now.
During a conference in Lagos this year, I was approached by a young lady banker. She was working in the Marketing department at one of these banks, She’s pretty young- about 7 years my junior. I’m 28; this lady is about 21. You know how young these graduates are these days.
Anyway, she walked up to me and started persuading me to consider opening up a bank account with her bank and told me all the benefits of the account, etc. She looked so innocent and desperate, and practically begged me for an opportunity to see me again so that she could convince me. I ended up giving her my complimentary card. I usually don’t just give out my card like that, but I did. Three days later, when I was hanging out with my new-found friends and my cousins at a bar at one of the Hotels on the Island during the early evening, this girl called me and reminded me who she was. She said she really needed me to open an account, and that she was eager to convince me on why I needed to open an account. My friends noticed I was talking to a girl on the phone. You know how guys are; they teased me and asked me to just play around with her and invite her for drinks. I asked her to come over to the Hotel, and surprisingly, she said she would be there in 20 minutes. The branch she worked in is on the Island, so she apparently took a Bike and came to meet us. This was about 6pm. The girl came, and my friends all saw her. They smiled and talked among themselves in hush tones, and I talked briefly with her for like 5 minutes and told her I would make a decision on banking with her or not. She was desperate from what I could see, and she was eager to get my account.
When she left, my friends all laughed mischievously and told me in plain terms that I had to sleep with the girl. They went on talking about how all these bank marketers sleep with different men before getting deposits, and insisted that I must not be any different. Now, I’m not a virgin; I’ve had my own fair share of sex in the past, but I’ve never been one to take advantage of a girl. I knew she was desperate as she had a target to meet up to, or something of the sort. But when you’re a guy hanging out with guys, it’s pretty difficult to be the odd one out. All my friends made me promise that I’d sleep with the girl. I promised; I didn’t want to look like some geek. And I’m really trying to feel among these guys.
To cut a long story short, two days later, when I was in my office, this girl called me and tried persuading me to bank with her. As she was talking to me on phone, I asked her jokingly: “What are you willing to do in order for me to open an account with you?”
She hesitated and then she told me: “Anything you want sir.”
Gbam! That was my cue. I asked her to meet me at one hotel for drinks later that evening. I asked my PA to book a room for me at the Hotel. She came to meet me. We had drinks, we chatted. She told me that her bosses had ordered her to deliver N10million to the bank that month, and that so far, she hadn’t gotten anything. Her job was on the line, and she had only just started working there 3 weeks before. I asked her to follow me to the room. She did. I slept with her.
Surprisingly, it turns out she was doing it for the first time. She was actually a Virgin. The bed sheet was stained with her blood and all that stuff, and I was just amazed. I thought being a marketer and all, that she would have been sampled many times. But no, she was a virgin. When we finished, she was shy of looking at me in the eye. We didn’t talk much. I gave her money for a Taxi, and gave her the name of the Finance director of the subsidiary I am in charge of. I asked her to meet him the following day to open up a corporate account. I instructed the guy to open up an account worth a few hundreds of millions- probably enough to meet her target for the next 2 years if there is such a thing in commercial banking circles. I don’t know how these banks work.
Anyway, she called me and thanked me profusely for saving her job. My friends now know I have slept with her, and I have solidified my place among them as a ‘bad’ guy.
The issue is this: I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. It’s been like six weeks now. I haven’t called her since then, even though she keeps sending me text messages asking after my wellbeing and thanking me for banking with her. She deals directly with my Finance guy so we don’t talk money ever. But I think about her every day. I think I actually have feelings for her, and the idea that I was her first makes me feel like she should belong to me. I’ve never been a Lady’s first. I’m actually going crazy with thoughts about this girl.
Am I crazy? Should I call her up and ask her out? How would that feel? How would she react? Also, considering that my friends all see her as the bank ‘LovePeddler’ would it be a good idea to still ask her out? How will my friends see me? I’m not looking for sex from her; I’m looking for something real, something intimate. I want something that’d last- probably forever.
I’ve never felt this way about any other lady in a really really long time. What should I do? When you spotted blood on the sheets... you should have had a conversation with her atleast. Anyways invite her for a date n get to know all bout her... then u can take it up from there |

lalasticlala: ABOKIFX MANAGEMENT DECISION
AbokiFX has taken the decision today, the 17th of September 2021, to temporarily suspend rate updates on all our platforms, until we get better clarity of the situation.
Final rates have been posted this evening but the abokiFX news section and the Crypt° rates section will still be active.
WHO WE ARE
abokiFX was established in 2014 as a research and information service company, to conduct market research and gather data on the parallel market rates.
We also wanted to provide some transparency around the parallel market with the availability of information technology.
abokiFX purely provides benchmark parallel rate information which helps guide our users in almost 200 countries across the world. abokiFX does NOT TRADE FX, which we have always maintained in our emails and social media platforms.
We do not Trade FX neither do we have the power to manipulate the rates as we DO NOT CREATE the rates.
We are the only entity in Nigeria that has a full set of parallel rates, right from our inception in 2014 when the exchange rate was trading at N166 to Sl.
We collated data for years before we started publishing, as we realised the demand increased for our historical data.
To most users of our platforms, we are just a parallel rates board but to many institutions, ranging frorn IVY league universities, to global businesses and research centres, we area keysource of data, especially, historical data (almost a decade's worth of data on parallel rates).
Companies use our data for their internal and external audits as well as planning and budgeting.
We ONLY publish what we source on the streets of Lagos, hence the phrase, Lagos Parallel Rates. The rates sourced are carefully collated, reviewed and a mean rate is published from the data pool. This explains our three daily updates - * Morning, ** Midday, ***Evening. Sometimes, rates come in late but we have to wait for the full set of rates before they are published, to prevent volatility of rates.
None of our data source providers know who we are or what their rates are being used for. This is to avoid any manipulation of rates. Our staff have a daily routine of going to the market to gather rates, as all the BDCs in the country have their rates clearly displayed on their rates board and parallel market rate dealers give the information away freely. All we do is collate all that information and display it on all our platforms daily.
REPLAY OF 2017 vs 2021
In 2017, Nigeria experienced an FX crises and the Naira depreciated to over N500/$1. abokiFX was accused of manipulating the parallel market rates.
Once liquidity was injected, the Naira appreciated and we published the appreciation which is basically what we do. 2021 has seen a similar scenario with the naira depreciating and we have published what we have been given, which has led some to believe we are manipulating the market. Yet no one can complain about our rates deviating +/- 2% from the parallel market rates when they patronise the dealers in the rnarket. If we do not create the rates, how then can we control the rates. Our only sources of income have been our API and advert sales.
ALLEGATIONS AGAINST OUR DIRECTOR
All allegations against our director are yet to be confirrned but we at abokiFX DO NOT trade FX neither do we manipulate parallel rnarket rates.
Outside the media allegation, we have not received any communication from any government body and our accounts are not closed as stipulated in the media.
WAY FORWARD
abokiFX is fully functional BUT we will not be publishing any form of rates on our platforms for now. We sincerely hope this suspension will lead to the Naira appreciation from next week. With our decision to temporarily suspend online rate publication, we are aware that there will be limited visibility of parallel rates information which will impact decision making for rnany. They did the right thing oooo.. atleast let see who CBN will blame now |

Lessons123: I have a wife and blessed with a daughter, I earn extremely high and I am in a debt of of over 2m monthly as a result of paying for a loan monthly to set up a business for my wife which has gulped over 30m and still a failure though this is the second failure of business opened. I decided to open the business as we both agreed she should resign as her salary as a teacher was the same salary with one of our two maids. The issue is despite doing very well financially my wife always gives me issues and there doesn't seem to be any love apart from me being her daily ATM. There was actually a phase when I had challenges financially and she was the only person to mock me. I need your advise as the quarrels are becoming too constant and the severe quarrels are majorly related to my brother in laws and sister in laws. Mind you my brother in law has been living with us and disrespects me and she defends him. Also before the marriage she was a very humble and tolerating lady until the business was opened. Sometimes I feel guilty as my dad had to sell his house in lekki and is in the process of buying a house in Ajah because he needed only 10m to complete his house in the village, which I could have easily provided if it wasn't for my indebtedness through my wife. Mature advise please. You just said it.. you are your wife's ATM. Better end that one sided marriage. Marriage no b by force. Plus sit her down n tell her her brother can no longer stay in that house. Or better still just leave that house before u speak ur mind n they plan to kill u oooo.. You life n mental health matters... Just leave the house for her.. The business u opened.. just sell it off or hand it over to someone else to manage for u.... It may be hard but try to do it.. Also there's no way ur wife will ever respect u again.. unless u demand it by force n I dont mean by violence. Jejely leave that house for her.... Bar her num from calling u.... and dont pick any number u dont recognize.. Until she comes to her sense.. |

Crime › Re: John Ocheme Shoots Inah Ubi, A Police Inspector Dead In Lagos by ghettochild(m): 4:50pm On Sep 16, 2021 |
othermen: 1/1/2011 -Police officer Ben shot a trader while trying to extort some street urchins. After firing indiscriminately, he fled the scene.
1/1/2011 -Dr Rita was upstairs in the hospital trying to draft her application for migration to Canada when the trader was brought in by some passerby. The tired nurses kept demanding for a police report. Dr Rita could wave the need for a report and do a first aid which could save the traders life, but she was more passionate about her application and instructed the nurses to insist on a police report before any admission was made. The passerby threatened to abandon the trader, but the hospital security officials screamed at him and almost assaulted him. The passerby regretted his involvement in all of it and promised never to do such assist again in his life. Soon, he drove to the hospital in the next neighbourhood, where the nurses insisted on a deposit, they did knowing the trader has lost a lot of blood and would not survive the hour.
1/2/2011- Several blogs picked up the story and reported the shooting, the story was on trend all through the morning and it seemed everyone on twitter were piqued by the event. The police PRO, CSP Kazeem promised an investigation. It will be the 1,989 pending investigation of civilian casualties in such extrajudicial killing.
1/2/2011- In the evening, the family of the trader had to pay to get her out of the morgue. There were witnesses to her murder but the police insisted on an autopsy but they also wanted the trader to be buried along with her story, so the police secretly facilitated the release of her body and burial… all was soon quiet. Salewa, an undergraduate in U.I couldn’t care less; Abraham in unilag was more interested in the champions league game; Kazeem, a civil servant was not even aware; unemployed Seun was more interested in what the trader sold and if he can explore such.
1/3/2011- Only two news channel reported on the trader briefly while Bobrisky calling himself a sugar mummy trended.
1/4/2021- Dr Rita flew back to Nigeria with her son after several years abroad. The son wanted to see how Lagos looked like. He linked up with some old pals. They were stopped on the highway by the police, who demanded to check through his phone but he insisted and refused. The police assaulted him and as he defended himself, the police soon shot him. Dr Rita’s son was rushed to an hospital on the mainland, and he was rejected due to want of a police report. He soon died.
1/5/2021- CSP Kazeem retired only 7 months ago. His son had pictures of his father’s pistol on his phone and that was enough evidence to get him killed by the police.
And in the end, all of those that were indifferent to the trader’s death suffered similar fate as did, the trader. This should made into a movie and titled "Karma": The Nigerian Vice |
