stop pulling false information out of nowhere.

Which historical evidence can you put forth to support the Saudia Arabia origin? And your source needs to be legit.

Everyone originated from Adam/Eve.
So you prefer the Adam and Eve fallacy to Oodua been the primogeniture of the Yoruba race??

What's your take regarding the Yorubas deities?

Would you think ours too is another form of super-duper-stitions put in place by those in powers then to control and checkmate the lands in the olden days?

Would you reckon that the threats of those deities are fore-fathers propitiated were used to keep people in sane?

Was it their masses opium then? noting despite that it didn't offer any reward of heaven or hell

What is technical about offering you the option of a widely accepted theological fabrication; the semitic 'First Parent' - Adam and Eve...which appeals to a lot of modern Yoruba christians and the Saudi origin to the Yoruba muslims.

Ileke, there are several sources concerning the origin of the Yorubas:

The Odudua Strain
The Adam and Eve Fallacy
The Saudi Arabia Myth

I'd like to know which of the above would you rather give a bit of credence to if not much?

IamPhantom: to whom it may concern above who asked what my guarantee is that my atheist husband would not cheat on me. Oh well,i don't know where that came from. Being an atheist is not guarantee that a person is good, just as a person being religious is not.

Inherent in that is part of my angst againt religious people. I do not need, nor have much respect for people who need τ̣̣ђё threat of hell or τ̣̣ђё promise of heaven to do what'ڪ right.

A moral atheist is a moral person indeed. His goodness is truly innate and of his/her own freewill. Religion is a good thing. It keeps people somewhat in check,i mean, imagine d world if people weren't afraid of an angry god staring wrathfully down at them. Yes,i like religion. Only,i do not need it to do what's right but let it stay because clearly, most people do.
You were on track until you started typing...'A moral atheist is...'
Religion is not and would never be a good thing. How has it kept people in check? Guyana Massacre! How does it keep people in check? Al-qaeda! KKK! If you still think it does then you would agree that it also capable of letting people go out of control. I know you might argue that those are people who've mis-interpreted it and its books..therefore religion is capable of mis-direction and instigation. It nurtures intolerance, fanaticism and extremism. What we have here in Yorubaland before imported religion is a way of life shaped after a unique belief system regulated by various checks and balances.

Wallie: A civil war, South vs the North, occurred in the 1860s in the US that prevented the US from splitting. The North won which is why slavery was abolished and the country is still united. Nigeria is not splitting without a war and it is highly likely that anyone opposing Nigeria will be defeated.

With regards to the Constitution, we copied a system that had been time-tested for over 200 years in a country similarly amalgamated like Nigeria. There’s no need to go back to the drawing board to come up with something brand new.

The solution to our problems is simple. Here are things that should change from our current system:
1. States should generate income (IGR) within their respective borders for self-sustenance. If a state cannot make money, recall the governor in favor of someone that has a clue and if that doesn’t work, the state should merge or forever remain poor.

2. Federal government should collect taxes on income generated.
3. Federal government should help states during natural disasters, which includes lack of rainfall.
4. States should control regular police within their borders.
5. Interstate highways and anything pertaining to two states should be control by the federal government.
6. Create something similar to the Commerce Clause that gives the senate authority on interstate commerce.
7. Abuja should be made into federal property.
8. State of origin should be abolished and residency requirements for states should be made easier.

To get the states through the teething period, the Federal government can do the following for 5 years before switching to a full self-sustaining state model:
1. Divide every state’s current allocation into two. For example, if a state normally gets $100,000 per month, divide it into two halves of $50k.

2. Match every state’s IGR up to half of what they normally get. If a state only generates IGR of $40k, then they get an additional $40k from the federal government but if the state generates IGR of $60k, then the state gets an additional $50k.

3. The other half of the allocation can only be used by the state to generate more IGR. In other words, the state can only use the remaining $50k to create industries. If a state defaults on the obligation or can’t account for the money, then the following month’s payment should be withheld.
Dude, don't lecture me about the American Civil War as if it's the appropriate analogy to justify a reason why there ought to be WAR prior to achieving dis-amalgamation. The propaganda that war would be inevitable if anyone dreams of splitting off is a means to instill fear unto those that are ignorant of 'UN Separatist Declaration of Indigenous Right. Did America that you mention came about on the same circumstances as Nigeria? Your suggestion 1 and 4 are characteristics of a self-governing true democractic nation, the rest is lacking in the type here. Please inform me about those democracy-practicing country that was amalgamated? It seems you don't understand what is Amalgamation. America is a state of nations i.e. Nations within a nation. Each American states with their differing laws though united by a commonly shared ideology instituted in a constitution regulated and enforced by a federal body. Now tell me which ideology does the Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa share in common?

Isn't all those suggestions of yours what is been currently used? And yet there's still bad roads, no stable electricity supply? Poor medical facilities, lack of clean water system, etc... aren't you living in Nigeria?

@Ileke Idi

There are certain elements in Yorubaland who have long been disseminating the 'ruse' that the Yoruba race migrated from Saudi Arabia. This ruse are continuously are mostly fed to hundred of thousands of Yoruba kids, youths in Islamic schools (Ile Kewu) by Alfas and Imams just to justify their the strong Islamic connection to Yorubaland. Little do these innocent victims of Islamic indoctrinations knows that Islam is the no.1 enemy of the Odua race. Arabs instigated wars among the Yorubas, captured and marched slaves to various Islamic world...just like Arabs till today still deal in black slaves in Mauritania. Arabs and Islam is the no.1 of the Yoruba people. Of the two beasts that devastated Africa for 4centuries, the Arabs were the most vicious.

It is only a heavily islamized Yoruba that will accept and believe his/her race migrated from Saudi Arabia. A true pagan Yoruba knows about our true origin as professes in Ifa.

Phems: We want all Christians to convert to Islam – Boko Haram

The Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the bombing of three churches that claimed about 50 lives and scores injured in the northern cities of Zaria and Kaduna on Sunday.
The sect spokesperson, Abu Qaqa in a statement said the multiple attacks was a reprisal of Christians’ past killings of Muslims and vandalism of Mosques in Zonkwa, Yelwan Shendam, Tafawa Balewa, where they said Mosques were turned into brothels and drinking joints, while Christians continue to carry on with impunity and government support.
The however affirmed that for peace to reign, Christians must all convert to Islam.
The statement reads in part: “Today (Sunday) Almighty Allah has given us victory against Christian Churches in Kaduna and Zaria which led to the deaths of many Christians and security operatives.”
The statement also claimed that Almighty Allah has tasked all Muslims in Quran chapter 9 v 29 to launch attack against Jews and Christians who refused to believe in him, his messenger, Prophet Mohammed.
The radical sect also affirmed that attacks against Christian children and women would continue, since security personnel now attack their women and children.

Everyone on this thread is automatically pro-Nigeria government abi? So you really believe your vote or anyone vote counts? Perhaps you haven't heard about rigging before. Your so called leaders *hegemonists* are reputable for that practice for theirs is sophisticated. What has the hullabaloos of voters cards and national IDcards benefited you or anyone on the basis of electoral rights? More goons in power.

Don't you know you share equal voting right with an amputee up north...when any scoundrel from Niger or Chad can just walk across the border and outvote your choice, all he needs to claim is an Arabic name Abdul, Yassuf, Ibrahim...if you dig...so what usefullness is voting for...when in fact those who don't respect/abide by the rule of the law they put in place can do and undo with impunity...so how does my vote count. I am sure you know democracy here is illusory and deception...

so abeg I no be small pikin wey no know anytin like you wey dey go by the book wey people wey write am sef no even proof read. You think you are a Nigerian? Abi? No one is a Nigerian by choice...you just like everyone is a Nigerian by force...was anyone's consent sought before it was crudely crafted in 1914 through a process called amalgamation (Unity by force) by the British to serve the economic interest of the Britain. Go dig for extra-curricular, undoctored history book to get the truth.

Something whose foundation isn't natural is ofcourse bound for doom. I am not a pessimist used to hope for a better nation which I now understand is far from reality...how can anyone fix something that was programmed for self-destruction?

Okay o KoboJunkie...tell me one thing, just a single thing to be proud of in Nigeria?

logicboy: Maclatunji aka the MAC-daddy, the MACnificent, the MACnanimous, the BIG MAC,

As you can tell from your nicknames, I feel that you're a powerful person. Yes, you have power as a moderator but you are quite strict and heavy-handed when using this power. I dont really care if you're strict as long as you allow me to debunk Islamic threads. Yes, I would be the first to admit that sometimes, I go over the line. However, I have three issues that I feel you have to address.

1) Banning; Why the hell did you ban me without notification? Yes, cleary, I must have done something wrong but isnt it common sense to tell me why I was banned so that I do not repeat whatever offense that I committed? Honestly, I might or might not be innocent but seriously, why did you not give the reason or notify me why I was banned?

2) Shia Muslims; I have no idea what the difference between Shia or Sunni or Wahabi muslims is. However, do you not feel that you're a bit too strict in the sense that LagosShia and another Shia muslim are not happy with you? I dont know what caused this problem with you and those two but did you really have to ban LagosShia? It came as a surprise because LagosShia is one of my main opponents on this section and he defends islam a lot. Maybe you can also explain what happened.

3) Do you mind if I call you "the Big MAC"? I think the name suits your authoritarian personality. Not to be confused with the non-halal burger served at the infidel capitalist restaurant called McDonalds
Logic boy u too much....your composition made me bust into laughter

Mind pointing me to those debates you had with them before getting banned?
