Lan444: Not really if the school accepts deposits you can just show them the deposit receipt . But you not paying full school fees might prompt them too ask for proof of fund at point of entry not everyone is asked try asking people who used Egypt air recently Do you mean point of entry or during boarding? Because as a person with a sponsor, the visa officer should already know that the student is not financially responsible for themselves |

Lan444: School fees receipt are part of the things Egypt air check before they allow you Board ask people who used Egypt air maybe it’s otherwise There’s nothing about this on their website. I had only made the payment of 1k for the deposit. So I have to pay for the total term even when the school is yet to finalize? That’s weird though. |

Henny52: No proof of fund asked but he had it with him incase asked. But was asked who he was staying with and he replied with his sister till August and he September he moves to oakville for his studies. Quick question: I am sponsoring someone who will arrive this month. I have not paid the fees yet. What are the possibilities that Egypt air would stop them from boarding as they don’t have a tuition receipt? |

Can anyone point me towards the IRCC page for SOWP? I only see OWP.
2. Where do I see the POF breakdown?
3. What are good home ties? Especially as family is all coming along?
4. Is anyone willing to share a sample of their SOP for a case where the student spouse is yet to land?
Thanks a lot. |

Dessymond394: Does opening balance really matter? I don't think so. Someone may have opened a bank account long time ago with even 1k but in a space of 4 month or even less, transaction of million can start entering the bank account..if the source of the funds can be proven if the owner of the account is into a business that's worth the millions coming in..my elder brother opening account balance is 1k cos he opened the account while he was still in the university now the account is worth millions.. under 4 months that same account read above 10m cos he owns a constructing company and also a lecturer in the UK now. I think proving the source of funds is what Is important and good closing balance and not the opening balance.. you can oppose with good reason if you think am wrong You’re saying what you think, not what you know. I have seen gcms notes where they mentioned low opening balance |

Muslimahxo: Ohh I understand. About the permit application, is it a submit everything at once thing or a step by step process? Because this proof of funds issue is still touch and go at the moment. If it's feasible to just get in the application first and kind of sort things out along the way? It’s all at once. |

Muslimahxo: So they just replied the first web form I sent on Monday, in that web form I just told them I got admission for this fall and I want to apply for a study permit but I have an ongoing sponsorship application.
They replied "We acknowledge receipt of the documents and wish to inform you that they have been added to the file. Please note, for technical reasons, they may not be visible in your online account. Rest assured that your supporting documents are indeed added and available for officer review. · If your enquiry was solely to provide documents, please note this is the only response you will receive. · If your enquiry included additional questions in addition to the documents, they will be addressed separately, as soon as possible."
I'm not sure what documents they're referring to, I didn't submit anything. Hopefully they send another email.
But right now I'm checking for all the things I need to submit a study permit application, and just start on that. That is a generic response. If you submit another application, during the first few days before AOR/bio request, they will check for inadmissibilty by scanning your UCI. An actual VO will want to know why your previous visa is yet to be granted and if it is a cause for concern. It’s better than a generic response. You don’t have a lot to lose but $150 application fee. Also, the situation may just be about quotas. IRCC sometimes channels resources to process refugees and students during intake periods. |

Lol
Clash of traditions!
The yorubas expect Pete to bow as per Yoruba tradition.
Igbos do not bow to anyone as per igbo tradition.
So no one should expect the other to conform with their own tradition, especially as this is not the Ooni’s palace. |

Muslimahxo: That's the thing, the admission is only valid for this fall. And its a nursing program, the bsn programs always start in the fall. I considered going through the practical nursing route that starts in winter but all the colleges i checked don't accept intl students. Raise a web form request on your previous application, let them know you’re supposed to start school this fall. Send them your admission letter. You may also start another application for study permit, since you already have a UCI, medicals and biometrics on file, it may trigger the other application to be looked at again. |

Muslimahxo: Hello everyone,
So a little backstory, my sister, brother and my mother are already permanent residents of canada and my mum submitted a sponsorship application for me and my dad. This was in 2020, there was the pandemic so they didn't start processing it till 2021. Around July or August 2022 we sent a webform to IRCC because we weren't receiving any updates(it was a paper application), we called IRCC but they just kept saying its still in process.
September 15 2022, me and my dad got an email to do medicals, and then a week or so later we got another email to submit some additional documents(police report, proof of relationship, educational certificates). In this same email they said, "You have 30 days from the date of this letter to submit additional information so that we may continue processing your application. Please note this will be the ONLY opportunity we will provide for you to submit additional evidence. Your application will be assessed in 30 days and the final decision will be based on the evidence on file at that time. If you choose not to respond with additional information, a decision will be made based on the information on file, which may result in the refusal of your application". We submitted everything.
When i saw that they had requested for medicals and decision will be made in 30 days i was like okay i can even start preparing to move here so i applied to some schools, and mind you when i was applying i wasn't thinking about it from an international students perspective (although i did apply as an intl student hoping to change status soon) so i didn't exactly go for the cheapest school, domestic fee was like $7k so it wasn't bad. I got admission to one of the schools for fall 2023 in February, but the matter of study permit didn't come up because everyone was thinking oh there's still time.
We tried checking the application status online but it wouldn't login, up until about 3 weeks ago when my brother randomly tried and it worked, okay o now we have access. The last thing that was written there "Medical results have been received", nothing about the other documents we submitted.
Now May is almost over, webforms have been sent, still no word. Now we're thinking of going the study permit route but the international fee for this school is $32k, plus the $10k that is required, i didn't even bother converting to naira to see what it is, cause i don't know where the money will come from. I only found out about the GCMS notes last week and i told my sister to request for it, apparently it takes a month, anyway its not like we can do anything else but wait. I'm just holding onto the hope that God can make a lot of things happen between now and when i have to enroll.
I'm not sure what advice i'm seeking but any would be appreciated, especially if anyone has been in this type of situation before. Thanks. For the cost difference between domestic and international student, I would defer the admission and wait till winter intake. |

The pain of losing her so untimely has shaken me to my roots. The tears won't stop coming.
I've been told to try and move on and be strong. But how Truth? You’ll never get over it. You’ll just learn to move on and overcome the pain. Years later, you’d often be overwhelmed by the loss, and will be unable to sleep at night. |

I just had a baby few weeks ago, guess how much I paid for a cesarean section, private room, private nurse, a carton of enfamil baby food, a carton of baby diapers, a carton of adult female diapers, a personal nurse for 3 whole days, a personal attendant for 3 whole days, 3 squared meals for 3 days, epidural injection, morphine, and a whole of other medications? $24. And you know what? That $24 is what it cost us to park our car in the parking lot for 3 days @ $8/day. So technically, the actual bill was 0. What’s funnier? We can claim back the #24 as a medically related expenditure when we file our taxes next year. Joke’s on who? You! |
