PoliticsRe: More Heads Ought To Roll With Gov. Jang's Shocking Revelations by Glorya(f): 2:38pm On Mar 11, 2010
Anyne who hears 18 platoon talk will know that what Gov. Jnag said about the military commander is true. 18 Platoon is not the only biased military man, there are many of them which is why people in Jos are not safe cos when you get attacked who do you turn to?
PoliticsRe: Plateau Massacre : Police arrest 377 suspects, prosecute 162 by Glorya(f): 12:02pm On Mar 10, 2010
What kind of cowards kill people in their sleep, even children and pregnant women? That is the height of wickedness.

kpof where are u in Jos? No one slept last nitecos of that jihad text though i did'nt hear any gunshots. This town is messed up. Shops, offices, banks, schools are closed. Like someone said, will jos students be given a different waec/jamb to write? Why should we all be held to ransom because of some particular set of people? Plateau indigenes pls fight for your land, defend yourselves before you are forced to seek refuge in another mans land.

FamilyRe: Why Don't Nigerian Parents Listen To Their Children? by Glorya(f): 4:40pm On Jan 06, 2010
@ Jaguar_09
Your points, facts and truth are well noted. I also don't support her going to parties where alcohol is being served and dating at age 16. My point is that her mum is not doing the best to help her by slandering her. No one is a saint esp. at this delicate age of experimenting and learning. Its her mum's job to try and shape her.

at 16  she is meant to stick to her mother's advice and guidiance for proper knowledge of womanhood.
Are u sure this motherly advice and guidance was given and then rejected by the young girl?

at 16 she is already dating someone, and the fool she is dating is talking marriage.
According to what i understood from the poster, it is with her mom's consent.

I still maintain that parents are supposed to be role models and best friends to their children so that even when these young ones make mistakes they know that they have someone to come back to who will not condemn them but will correct them in LOVE.
FamilyRe: Why Don't Nigerian Parents Listen To Their Children? by Glorya(f): 2:03pm On Jan 06, 2010
I think most folks are getting the poster wrong. I don't think she is trying to support indiscipline. What will ever make a mother spread false things about her own daughter? I think it is malicious. Is that the best she can do as a mother. If her daughter is going wrong, there are many ways to reach that child and correct her. What will be the input of the outsiders she is telling? Will they advise her on anything good? I think parent-child relationship should come to a level where children can safely confide in their parents knowing that even if they are wrong they will be corrected in love.

Parenthood is not all about discipline, there should also be love and friendship. Where these are lacking then there is sure to be trouble. This is the time when she would be pushed to make the wrong desicions. I feel for the lil girl.
RomanceRe: Am I Expecting Too Much From This Relationship? by Glorya(f): 4:47pm On Dec 01, 2009
its so sad to see that many ladies are also going through thesame fate as i was.

Moni, ur case is not different from mine at all. The only difference is that we are from the same religion but I am from the east and he is from the North, he is a nice guy with all the ‘am sorry, please and thank you. You just can’t pick a quarrel with him cos he'll apologize and you'll end up feeling guilty.

He used to be generous when we first started dating but now u can’t squeeze a penny out of him not to talk of going out. We hav only been out once in 21 months. Since I work I don’t really bother but a girl needs a little pampering sometimes. Mind you he has the money to finance projects like buying a power bike or giving his friends money when they are broke but not even a chewing gum for his gf. I even have to beg to be entertained when I go to his house. U even get phone calls, very lucky.

Anyway I got thinking, a man that cannot take care of his gf cannot possibly begin to take care of a family. Its hard to just walk since I also love him but I took some time away to think abt d whole thing. Try doing the same too, maybe u’ll see things in a clearer picture.

Best of luck on whatever decision you decide to take
FamilyRe: How Can I Help A Maltreated Child! by Glorya(f): 1:59pm On Sep 30, 2009
This issue of child abuse is just too much in Nigeria and its so sad that there is nothing or so little that is being done about it. A friend of my kid sister is also going through thesame predicament. Her dad in this case never cares for what they eat, school fees and the likes. Her mum has a grinding machine which she uses to feed the family, including the husband. Whenever he has money everybody in the house is in trouble because he will beat the hell out of anybody in sight. Infact the story is too long and they all want out but the man won't let them. Does anybody know any welfare services in Jos, Plateau State. Any help is appreciated.

God have mercy upon us in this country. How stubborn can that child be that his father, his own father would have to kill him. This world is turning into something else. This country has to take up child abuse as a serious matter or else,

HealthRe: Is There A Cure For Dandruff? by Glorya(f): 10:25am On Aug 13, 2009
you can use Damatol Hair Cream, it works though it is very hot and smells after some time. The smallest jar goes for about N180 to N200 and you can find it in any pharmacy or cosmetic shop.

Christianity EtcRe: Teacher Arrested In Sudan Over A Bear Named Muhammad. by Glorya(f): 10:51am On Nov 29, 2007
infact am tired of muslims behaving as if theirs is the only religion in the world, who has heard of so much violence in any other religion. This is the 21st century for Heaven's sake and i expect all this primitive attitudes to be kept in the dark ages. Flog the woman, for what offense? That she came to bring knowledge to a war-torn country, did she name the teddy bear or what is her offense? abeg, e do me jare. its not fair that other religions should be in constant fear of another so they might not be flogged or beheaded. Let us leave the case of Sudan that is a bit far away and talk of home. Just on Tuesday 27 Nov, if not for the intervention of soldiers and mobile police only God knows what would have happened. The Jos North LGA was being moved to another site and the muslims were not happy with it so they took to their normal way of 'dialogue'. the town was almost a ghost town and people are still leaving in fear esp. as today is Friday. Infact its annoying that i cannot go about my day-to-day business. Infact this religion of 'peace' is getting on my nerves.
FamilyRe: The Art Of Adultery: Why? by Glorya(f): 12:24pm On Nov 27, 2007
I think its a thing of the mind and sometimes it could be spiritual in the sense that it might be a curse. We just need to be prayerful because we don't know what our fore fathers have done that might affect us. And anybody involved should know that it has dire consequences on all involved.

PhonesRe: MTN Has Started Again: An Unreliable Network? by Glorya(f): 5:29pm On Nov 19, 2007
its so sad, all networks are nothing to write home about. Infact we had better start looking for plan B because this one is not working oh. Or if its better we go back to the primitive means of communication, at least we would know that we can rely on that one. My experience with MTN is really annoying, sometimes i feel like throwing the usless lipsrsealed sim away. When u need to communicate the most, alas, that is when MTN fails you. Your best connection tongue

FamilyRe: Should I Introduce My Son To His Father? by Glorya(f): 9:39am On Nov 08, 2007
my dear i must applaud you for raising this little boy up all on your own, it takes a lot of courage. You have done your part well, leave the rest to God. make sure your son gets to meet his father, that is the only way he can grow up being secure and not feel inferior. Please forget the past for the best interest of your son. Let him build a relationship with his father, please.

Mr Biggs fried rice is nothing to write home about. i bought a plate from an outlet at Terminus in Jos, can you imagine that the rice is half-done and the ingredients overcooked and it is called fried rice? The chicken is even worse, no seasoning at all.
