I am a lawyer and an intending applicant. Please how many years of experience is required to apply for PR. Some lawyers start practicing on their own right after law school and see no reason to join any firm.

In such circumstance, how does the lawyer provide proof of years of experience if he is self employed right from day one.

The problem we have here is simply bad leadership. Millions of our youth are unemployed and placed under no welfare package.

In every society, everyone must not navigate towards a particular sector in order to succeed career-wise. That is the reason we have different sectors in societal development.

Although our universities tend towards theoretical rather than practical aspect of study, it doesn't negate the fact that Nigerian graduates are generally smarter and have an active brain. We were only unfortunate to be placed in Africa where there is bad leadership.

Today 70% of lawyers that are recently called to bar leave the profession entirely because there is a little chance to grow financially practicing law when the old lawyers have taken all the juicy clients for themselves.

Our doctors and health workers are paid peanuts and many are leaving in their groves to another clime.

Most average engineers have ended up as a banker because there is no guarantee of landing a job in a construction firm or company.

@Op our society is dysfunctional not because of lack of creativity of Nigerian graduates and youths but as a result of lack of enabling environment to succeed.

Nigeria youth are strong and resilient. In the other part of the world, the youth commit suicide as a result of mere boredom and loneliness but here we are very strong and hopeful despite our suffering, lack, difficulty, despair and anguish.

I am an undergraduate, currently in 200L. While we were in 100L, my Roomie used my favourite boxer and I soaked & washed it with hot water thinking it should purify the boxer but I noticed ever since that incident, there has been an unpleasant odour from my balls/thigh area. I noticed the colour is somehow pinkish as well. It scratches sometimes.

I have tried using all sort of antifungal cream's from Ytacan, Funbact, Nixodermx, Dusting powder etc but still the stuff seems to be resistance to all of them.

Is there hope??

Rationality over emotions

I was handling a case that involved family property. We were trying to settle amicably with the family as our final alternative dispute resolution option before filing the matter in court.

On the day of meeting with Baale and other head of the family, the first uber I boarded broke down on the road. I boarded second uber, one of its tyres bursted few minutes later. I boarded third uber, one of its tyres veered off into gutter. We were lucky it was driving slowly when it happened.

I now boarded Gokada which finally had minor accident and threw me off the road with bruises all over my body.

I had to call my clients to cancel the meeting and he said he was about to call me and that he broke his ankle as he was coming downstairs and heading to General hospital.

I didn't need to share my experience with my client so he didn't misconstrue my intention. I eventually referred him to another lawyer to handle the case on the pretext that I would be travelling.

I learnt not to handle cases pertaining to family property after the incident.
