robosky02: ‘English hard o’ — Nigerians blast UEFA after misunderstanding Oshoala post Barcelona Femeni star Asisat Oshoala
‘
It was a sad day for English comprehension as fans attacked the UWCL handle on social media after misunderstanding a post they made about Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala
Fans have erroneously come to the defence of Nigerian icon Asisat Oshoala after misunderstanding a post from the official X handle of the UEFA Women’s Champions League featuring the Barcelona Femeni star.
With the group stage of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League set to kick off, the UWCL handle celebrated reigning Champions Barcelona.
They made a post noting that the Blaugrana had an incredible record of scoring in 30 of their last 31 matches, using a picture of Oshoala as the featured image on the post.
The caption on the picture of Oshoala read Barcelona have only failed to score in one of their last 31 #UWCL matches, yet it still drew negative comments from fans of the Nigerian superstar, who rained insults in the comments.
According to the complainants, they were upset that the UWCL for using the Super Falcons legend to portray a ‘negative’ stat.
Nigerians lament lack of basic understanding over Oshoala post
The lack of understanding of the simple post caused shame to other onlookers who lamented the level of education in the country while wondering how the statement could have been misconstrued by so many people.
Others lamented the display of misreading as the reason why a popular test of English remains a blight on the Nigerian populace.
Despite the misunderstanding, fans will certainly be cheering on Oshoala as she locks horns with compatriot Christy Ucheibe when Barcelona take on Benfica in their opening game of this season’s UWCL.
LocalFARMERS: So many Nigerians go through alot before they are able to survive. Some do menial jobs, Some are into petty Tading, while some are Artisans.
These sets of Nigerians are never appreciated. They chose not to Rob, do Rituals, kidnapping, join bad gangs etc. But they happily hustle. I dedicate this thread to all the hustlers.
This transfer thing can really cause trouble at times. Early this year I took a cab and paid N2,000 to the driver through palmpay. It was successful but driver said he didn't see. Had to send him same amount by my bank app and he promised to do reversal when he receive the initial transfer. Was sure palmpay would reverse the money in minutes or complete the transfer within 24 hours. I messaged them too and they confirmed the transfer was successful. But days turned weeks and I kept contacting the driver but he said he didn't see any money and the money was also not confirmed when he went to his bank to enquire. Could have made a lot of trouble but I just had to let go of the 2k. If indeed he was lying, he will never make progress in his life
Yar'adua made lots of enemies in his short time in office trying to fix the artificial mess in Nigeria. Even Emilokan would have calculated that he would not succeed in his long term aspiration if the then Head of State continued to turn the country around for the better
Freshly prepared, as in straight from fire, is fufu. It has a distinct smell. Almost tasteless. After somedays, it begins to ferment. The color and smell changes to become what you see on the streets as Akpu. I got to know Santana when I got to Benin. That one is stale fufu. Like 1 to 3 weeks old.
5k I withdrew yesterday afternoon is remaining 1k after spending just 2k of it on food. How do people survive with less than 50k earning in this country mbok?
frog12: i agree. can you imagine leaving a 5 months baby to the husband. unless this is fake. the woman should just postpone everything
it's sad. Some partners even refuse to commit now adays if there is no travel plan in the books. It's very difficult to postpone. Getting a job is not easy
The many ways by which bad governance is destroying us. Normally skilled couples are supposed to earn renumeration befitting of skilled workers and be happy to build a home together in their homeland. Now we have to solve the dy/dx of traveling for better quality of life and fair renumeration while risking the loss of relationships and happiness of family. I'm not averse to traveling but only on a leisure visit. This forced migration is devilish and embarrassing
I'm amused by the comments here. We have a national problem on our hands not an Atiku, obi or party problem. The ship has been hijacked and the passengers are chasing the sailors rather than go after the pirates. I have never been a fan of Atiku nor do I have a preference for obi but at this point in time when it is obvious that there is constant threat to our livelihood and existence, we should learn to eschew partisanship, ethno-religiousity and mediocrity. Only nationalism, patriotism and revolution should be eon our hearts and lips. We deserve merit based leadership, we should demand it and demand a better Nigeria for us all
Lol, for two storey building? Despite its advantages, I can only adopt it if it's a project I directly monitor. When this mindset of cutting corners is at play, there is a good chance the necessary treatment required to make it water and insect resistant might be evaded by the builders.
