The German election is tomorrow and no one knows what the outcome would be and what the change of power could lead to. The new head of parliament may decide to change the decision of offering free tuition to international students. God will continue to help us but we also need to help ourselves. If u are still confused on how to apply, pls ask ur questions now and make haste while Oluwa is involved!

I am a Medical doctor but with lots of exposure in electronics engineering. I wanted to apply for MSc in Energy & Process engineering with my MBBS degree and evidence of my company's work as (R&) scientist BUT now, since BSc is only 3yrs or 3.5yrs with intense training, I have decided to go for BSc.
My Questions:
1. would age be a barrier? I'm 33.

2. since it is BSc, will my transcript from Med sch be an advantage? remember i am going for engineering program.

3. I am married with 2 children. can I request my family to come over to Germany say after 2years of stay with student visa and good financial capability?.
I am targeting 2014/15 winter semester.

dmitroika: don't get it wrong; i'm not having a bad mind against anyone at the embassy. As a matter of fact after my interview i said it here that she was friendly towards the end which seems to be the same thing other people experienced.. it's only natural to get curious after waiting for something for a very long time, we need to know whats up with out visa application so as to begin to prepare for the travelling.. lots of things to plan for. I stay positive.

dmitroika: i'm beginning to get worried about this waiting issue, someone who had his interview on the 28th of august have been given a visa and i had mine on the 20th of august. Is it taking long because i'm going to the city of freiburg in the state of baden-wutternberg? perharp they have lots of applications because there are almost 7 universities in freiburg alone.

but another thing is that those whose visa application got rejected were interviewed by the german elderly woman, and most people that says they've gotten their visas were interviewed by the friendly young german lady. na the elderly woman interview me oh. I know all will be well sha, just getting curious.

I am sorry to say but if your visa got denied it is simply because you already got bad mind cos of the old woman that Interview you.I tell you something ,without that woman signature and consent,nobody get student visa out of German embassy in Lagos

If i were you,I would have keep fasting and praying.Also i would be positive about everything.

She is just there doing her job and i do not expect her to be laughing with everyone.

You are not the only non Eu student arriving late but German government are strict.Just keep praying thats all

If things goes well then you might not have any problem...The foreign office here might want to disturb you for late arrival when you go there for extension but all thesame..work hard + pray hard..

It is always good to arrive here ahead so that you have less stress.Wait until you hear from embassy first.

martty4real: Thank you plenty, when is it best to contact them now that wouldn't look desperate cos after 20th aug,I called them for d first time last week tuesday and was told to send a mail.so pls do I call or mail them and when is best to contact them again.I don't want to appear desperate.Many thanks to everyone providing advice and suggestion.

see like i have said,Relax yourself,You are not forgotten and they will surely get back to you..If you email you they still dont have nothing to say than we are waiting for foreign affairs..Once your visa is ready they e mail after one week they will even call your phone number.

you do not have to be in a rush and dont bother contacting the foreign office...You have your visa receipt with you,Mail the Embassy that you need an update and quote your visa application number to them.

Yes it is the foreign office at your study city that is delaying your visa,Maybe they investigating something about documents but it do takes months sometimes cos foreign affairs in big cities are always damn busy....

suckermaterial: He (that my friend) did his interview on 17th of July, 2013. after 7weeks and some days, he mailed the embassy before they ask him to come on 16th of Sept. the letter is below:
