LillyGemm: To all of you guys already in Germany, how were the first days when you got to Germany, especially the first day after you landed? Did you manage to get about without any difficulties? I've lived in London for over 4 years and just came back to Africa a few months ago...when I first got to London, I was just happy to be there and things were very easy for me...very polite British people and I could ask people for locations (when I got lost) in English, and my family was there so it was very easy. Now that I want to study in Germany, I am just asking you guys to please share your first experiences in Germany...experiences such as your first day in Germany, how you managed to get around the city/ town you are in, first day at Uni, did you easily make friends, and anything else you wanna share that will be helpful to anyone going to Germany or Europe for the first time. I hope it's not too much to ask. I'll appreciate it and I am sure a lot of people planning to move to Germany and have no friends or family there will also be grateful. Xoxo

That is good.For any traveling,I think the most important issue is accomodation because you might not be able to keep paying that huge bills to the hotel.Since you are a foreigner you need to manage the little money before you integrate.

Apart from that ya good to go when coming to Germany.ypu will also be lonely cos you will need friends but once you start partaking in a social activity or being a student then ya gonna get colleagues.

When asking for directions or something,The Germans can be rude cos they won't give much attention when you can't speak that German you know,unless ya lucky to meet those nice ones that can speak English.

Just get a nice smart phone with map or something.You will enjoy Germany though ....it's Gateway to Europa

topeajis: Man it was nt like I can't wait ooo.. Ma visa has been ready since three weeks after my application but the mail they sent me went to spam massage I call embassy tire na the black woman they pick up and whey they tell me to chill I even called Berlin they said ma visa Is ready OMO I just mailed the embassy one Friday like that around 10am I think it was a white lady that was on the seat so she told me to send ma passport page I did it instantly and within 20min she told me ma visa as been issued for the past month Kia. And the nest Tuesday was my registration deadline so I ad to rush to nearest insurance company to do the insurance stuff. I booked the ticket that same Friday I prepared to travelled Saturday and Sunday and iwent to embassy early Monday morning submitted my passport and went to the turkey airline office at vi to pay for my flight. Ran back to the embassy to collect my visa after then I ran back home again packed my thing to they airport and flew that night. Got to Berlin Tuesday morning got to school and was the last student to registrar.. Very funny

Nah you do not need it until you've been issued the visa

But am n that sure it's 120 sha actually I don forget color the stress I was when I wanted to travel u kn I booked my ticket the day I got my mail and did My insurance same same they and travelled the third day....

Yeah ya right I was lucky they flew to Munich for 95k one way one of the best online deals i've ever seen .I just can't believe it man and I was like I gotta economize my money joor..I knew you couldn't wait to see Germany after you got your visa.

topeajis: If u. Won fly cheap airline OMO he ready to spend 6hrs or more for stop over.. The times travelled I think ma turkey airline ticket I got it for 120k or sha.. U can also try Iberia its also cheap but u will have stop ver on Madrid...

Turkish airline is also expensive oo...try emirate,etihad or qatar but expect longer layover..you might be lucky to a round ticket with any of them for 130k.Search online and dont go to agents...

Not too early so far ya fully prepared .They gonna issue your issue according to the date on your travel insurance so just tell them the date you want when doin your insurance

Amanda6: u see the risky thing about studienkolleg is that it does not quarranty admission, to get into studienkolleg fully u have 2 write an entrance exam and studienkolleg is harder than A level, so if u do studienkolleg and no pass u r coming back 2 nigeria bro no 2 ways about it so 1.8 milla wasted. Its better u write A level in nigerian than studienkolleg.

I would dis agree,It is true that studienkolleg can be difficult but nothing abt studying is easy.It will be difficult cos firstly you will be fully taught in german.None of those german exams is simple.I have seen someone writing b1 for more than 10 times and then he gave up.A lady nearly committed suicide by wanting to jump into the lagoon cos she failed start Deutsch for 9 times.Then goethe was still at ozumba mbadiwe near lagoon

So with hard work you can pass any examination.the firs time I wrote B2 exams out of 20 students a lady managed to pass at goethe lagos.

Just be good at whatever ya good at cos german maths no be play.

Before getting admission to studienkoleg u need to pass aufnahme prufung then when passing out you need to pass festellung prufung..

I have mailed some schools concerning using Diploma for admission but they said it's not possible thereby making me to drop the issue of using Diploma for now.What I'm planning of doing now is to learn the German Language and start from the studentkolleg. I think this will give me a very good chance in getting admission to the school of my choice and visa from the embassy? I really need to know if I have best chance when it comes to going through srudentkolleg.
