The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) under the amiable leadership of President Oki Samson has congratulated the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa as he celebrates the golden age of 50.

According to a statement signed by the Association's Public Relations Officer Mr Eric Elezuo, the association holds the ebullient lawmaker in high esteem, and prays the Almighty continues to shine the light of greatness in his path as he effortlessly leads the legislative arm of Lagos State government to enviable heights.

"It is with deep sense of camaraderie and appreciation for your stupendous achievements that we, the members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) celebrate you on your landmark age of 50.

"We pray that God will continue to lead you in the paths of righteousness as you continue to work assiduously to better the lives of Lagosians and humanity in general," the statement revealed.

Mr Elezuo further described the speaker as an intellectually oriented administrator, whose warm and cordial relationship with governors during his tenure, has helped in telling the success of Lagos State till date.

"As one of the longest serving Speakers in the country, we have noted with admiration how you have synergized with different governors of the state to build and continue to make Lagos a progressive place for all and sundry irrespective of religion, ethnicity or party," Elezuo noted

The statement also quoted the president of the association, Mr. Samson Oki, as adding that the group, an integrity based security publishers, will continue to give the distinguished speaker every assistance in the positive discharge of his duties for the state and humanity.

Labake is a mentally challenged teenager. Two years ago someone took advantage of her condition, impregnated and abandoned her. She was begging for food and money to survive.

The first time l saw her was in October 2020 when she strayed into my event. She was being dragged out by security men when she caught the attention of Kafayat Oyetola, Osun state, First Lady,who was my guest.

The First Lady took Labake to Oshogbo,rehabilited, took care of her till she delivered. Then she brought Labake back to Apomu, headquarters of Isokan local government area of Osun state.

This year again,2022, an unknown man whose name according to Labake is "Operator" impregnated her and disappeared.

On Thursday November 3, l was told Labake was at the Palace gate. I thought it was her usual visit for support. I asked my staff to take some things to her. He came back with a paper and said Labake was crying profusely.

The paper was the Scan result which showed among other things that she had been due since October 24 and the baby's breech position in her womb posed great danger to her life.The baby's head was up instead of down.The ideal position for birth is head down.

I asked the security to let her in. When l saw her, l didn't need to be told that she was in great pain. I called Julius Edet and Moses Bello (both members of the Medical team l set up for my project "Initiative To Stop Teenage Pregnancy") to come to the Palace). They took her to the Health Center. After payment was made for registration and tests, the officials said there was no doctor to attend to her.

She was taken to another Health centre. The Matron spoke to me. She said Labake's condition was beyond them.She advised that Labake be taken to a private hospital or General hospital Oluyoro in Ibadan because the only way she could give birth was through operation.

For me Ibadan was not an option at all because of distance and gridlock. Labake may not have have survived the stress in the condition that she was.

I decided to call Goke Odetunde, Chairman of our local government. He responded immediately.l told him the situation on ground.He said Labake should to be taken to a private hospital in a neighbouring community. He also paid the bill.

To the glory of Almighty GOD, the operation was successful.She delivered a baby boy. Mother and child are alive.

But the journey to save Labake has not ended.I would like to rehabilitate and provide a secured shelter for her.She can then acquire a skill or start a trade.

I want to thank the Chairman for the rapid response and kind gesture. Julius and Moses for devoting their time and attention to be with Labake throughout her agonising hours.

I want to appeal to the men who keep talking advantage of Labake's mental condition to sexually harrass/ abuse/ impregnate her, to desist. If she were your sister or daughter l do not think you will be happy if someone does that to her.

Most likely, you would describe such action as man's inhumanity to a vulnerable teenager girl.

INSECURITY: IGP ACQUIRES, DEPLOYS 3 ASISGUARD SONGAR ARMED DRONES TO STRATEGIC LOCATIONS

• Orders Total Clamp Down on Non State Actors, Criminals

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has acquired three high-powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for improved armed surveillance operations to checkmate criminal activities in the country.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Force Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated that, "The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, has acquired three (3) high-powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for improved armed surveillance operations to checkmate criminal activities in the country as a further manifestation of the IGP's determination to integrate the use of innovative technology in the law enforcement duties of the Nigeria Police Force."

According to the statement, "The newly acquired drones will surely assist the Police in monitoring active crime scenes, coordinating response operations, and providing armed aerial support to officers on reconnaissance operations."

"The 3 newly acquired UAVs are rotary wing aircrafts capable of flying up to an altitude of 1000ft with high operational endurance and capacity of firing at acquired threats and targets from reasonable distances. The Nigeria Police Airwing has equally concluded trainings for the operators of the drones in partnership with foreign experts who have been consulted for trainings and maintenance of the drones."

The IGP has directed the immediate, and strategic deployment of these drones based on necessity, while noting that three (3) more UAVs of the same specifications are still expected at the shortest possible time.

The IGP while reiterating the constant deployment and judicious use of the drones, ordered total clamp down on non state actors and criminals in Nigeria, and similarly warned criminal elements across the country to steer clear and turn a new leaf else the environment would not be conducive for them, and they may meet their waterloo soonest.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police has further re-emphasized the firm determination of his administration to continue to explore the use of technology in the fight against crime and criminality while seeking full cooperation from members of the public on intelligence gathering and vigilance.

Faithful Witness Initiative Charityhub with medical team supported their first medical checkup and consultation

The Faithful Witness CharityHub supported their first medical checkup and consultation to residents within Agege axis of Lagos state.

Hosted on the 29th of October 2022, inside Iykoson Pharmacy at 148 Oniwaya road, the Projects Manager of Faithful Witness Initiative and Pharmacist in charge at Iykoson Pharmaceuticals, Elizabeth Idahosa gleefully estimated about 80 patients participated in the exercise which lasted from midday till evening.

She said "The tests carried out were BMI (Body Mass Index) test, blood pressure test, blood glucose test, malaria test amongst others and free medical consultant with the doctor.
The event started about 11am in the morning and ended 6pm in the evening".

Oozing of fulfillment, Pharm. Elizabeth Idahosa describes relating with the patients as a great experience; from children to older adults, and some drugs were freely given alongside the tests.

A landed property at Kajola in Ogun state has just been acquired by FWIC, a nonprofit organization.

As someone who knows how the Lagos Agberos operate and personal media aide to the Chief Executive Officer, A.A Motors, Trucks & Logistics service, Prince Ajele Abeyi Abayomi popularly known as Ikomodina; who also doubles as Lagos state parks and garages management, (LASPGM) Branch C' Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Badadgry Division- my principal sought my opinion as the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) dented the image of LASPGM by alleging extortion and exploitation. I wish to inform the general public that the yellow bus (Danfor) drivers and conductors known as Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN), are also Agberos. This is a hidden fact. And for clarity, the interpretation given to Agbero by many Nigerians is incorrect. Agbero i't a controversial person nor someone who has criminal tendencies as many believe. Instead, Agbero is he or she who calls passengers into a bus and get paid for the service. It's also someone who welcomes a group or passengers into bus.

Now, what transpired amid LASPGM, Lagos park committee, and JDWAN?

There is an underground politics being played by the strong opposition party within the state to cause chaos between the two groups. I have read a lot of posts and comments by some people with no pedigree and good reputation on this matter. These are people who are seeking for unnecessary attention after being used and dumped by Lagos politicians.

It is sound to note that, the first person who attempted to organise the Agbero and Area Boys to one identifiable organization was former chairman, Lagos Island local government, late Hon Ademola Adeniji Adele. The truth remains that Agberos are regarded as “Omo Ita” meaning "Thugs". They make this conclusion because of how Agberos sometimes engage themselves when they have internal issue. However, this is not peculiar to only them. It is a general issue, even among the so-called learned people. Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, recently threw chairs at themselves during the annual Nigeria Bar Association conference held in Lagos. What do we say about some National Assembly members that turned the House to a boxing ring by engaging themselves with blows on national television during preliminary hearing or sitting?

To me, Agbero is just a menial job undertaken by young unemployed Nigerians. They're in every state in Nigeria including Lagos state. The Agberos in Lagos state thrive more than their counterparts in other state in terms of education and wealth, and this is because Lagos is a commercial centre and hub of transportation. Many think Agberos is only in Nigeria. Anyways, that's not true. According to my principal, there are Agberos in Belarus, Germany, Los Angeles in the United States of America, Shrewsbury Town in United Kingdom, etc. These are people (in western world, called commission agents) who get passengers into the aircraft, coaches and buses.

In my conversation with him recently, he said many believe that the Agberos of yesterday are not different from today's. But with Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly called MC Oluomo's, leadership has changed a lot of things. There are more responsible persons and professionals doing the job. It is the emergence of these well-meaning citizens that's giving the union a favourable image. Most of the branch chairmen in Lagos state under MC Oluomo are graduates and professional among them are; Comrade Olayiwola Salvage, graduate from LASU, B.sc/M.sc Transportation & planning, Comrade Onikoyi Johnson, graduate of Engineering from Yabatech, Comrade Raji Tunde, a graduate of LASU with B.sc Political Science, & current supervisory councillor on Revenue & Agric, Isolo LCDA. , Comrade Agboola Akeeem a graduate of Mathematics from prestigious University of Lagos, Unilag, Comrade, etc. They've all be given a task to put the union on the right track.

Recently, Lagos state government documented data base of every member of the Union. And the union in its parcel, developed and launched Bar code security measures to protect and prevent crimes, kidnapping and loss of properties in and out of Lagos parks and garages. I can say this is the first of its kind in Lagos state and Nigeria in general. Also, a loyal and responsible member of the union facilitated a local road project in Mile 2. An upgrade of the 1.7km of road rehabilitation in Amuwo Odofin.

In a data base record revealed by Lagos state Parks and Garages Management (LASPGM), Lagos state council, there are over 2000 graduates in unionism in Lagos state. They're branch chairmen, secretaries of branches, and park supervisors. In the social structures of Lagos state, Agbero has continued to wave the stride of social, political and economic life of the state. This is unprecedented.

To separate the chaff from the grains, Agbero is different from area boys or thugs who pollute our streets with chaos or violence. The fact that some hoodlums disguise as Agberos to cause an unrest doesn't mean they are Agberos. Agberos are decent people who work with the Lagos government. The documentation being carried out by the Lagos state government lately will help further in differentiating Agberos from street hoodlums who have taken an oath with controversies.

Abuja, Nigeria, 28-10-2022 – Medicaid Cancer Foundation is proud to announce that it is partnering with Nigeria Cancer Society (NCS) in support of a cancer health fund for indigent cancer patients and cancer research with a 50 million Naira fund. This fund will help to increase access to clinical cancer care services following diagnosis in Nigeria and advance the quality of cancer care through indigenous scientific research.

Medicaid Cancer Foundation as part of ongoing activities to ‘Close the Cancer Care Gap’ is committing funds to ease the catastrophic effect of cancer on patients and their loved ones in partnership with the Nigeria Cancer Society. The fund will support the treatment of indigent patients across the country through partner comprehensive cancer treatment facilities. The fund will also support scientific research led by Nigerian scientist to advance the quality of cancer care management in Nigeria and on the African continenet.

The growing number of cancer cases across Nigeria and barriers to treatment services gave birth to this partnership. The treatment of cancer, which includes surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, is vital to the curative management of most cancers. However, cancer therapies are grossly inaccessible, limited, or non-existent to most cancer patients in Nigeria due to their high cost. MCF and NCS are committed to collaboratively changing this narrative, prioritizing Nigerians with no means of affording the care they desperately need and supporting scientific research that will optimize cancer management for Sub-Saharan Africans.

We call for committed action from all actors in health service delivery; public and private, to increase cancer risk awareness across Nigeria. This is only a seed fund, we call on the private sector and well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the Nigerian Cancer Society to grow the cancer health fund and help provide quality cancer care to Nigerians. The partnership will benefit from technical partnerships with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the London Cancer Network.

We are deeply honoured to be working with Nigeria Cancer Society to change the cancer narrative in Nigeria, complimenting the laudable efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health. Calls for proposals will be announced through the channels listed below.

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two cable vandals attempting to cut armoured cables in Ikoyi area of Lagos.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command's Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that, "Officials of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested two cable vandals attempting to cut armoured cables in Ikoyi, Lagos."

According to the statement, "The suspects, Wasiu Olainukan (25) and Habib Rasaq (30), were arrested on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at about 3:45 a.m. while excavating and cutting cables powering street lights in the area."
 
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were arrested with a handsaw and cutting pliers, were labourers on Banana Island."

Meanwhile, the Commander of Rapid Response Squad, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has since transferred the suspects and exhibits to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti for further investigation and prosecution.

What led you to Arts?
Big question but I can't say. Since I was a kid, I loved creating, I got this from someone who doesn't even do this.

What are your plans for art?
Good question, I dont know how to put it, I just want to inspire people, by painting more. Sometimes I just tend to look at some people's work and I just want to draw because I saw their work, they made me draw. I might not have the best work out there, or hit perfection and all that. I just want to inspire people.

You, everybody, like I have everything to inspire me, I can just wake up in the morning and see my brother and I'll be inspired to draw. I can just go outside and see the color of the sky and I'll be inspired. Its beautiful you know, like the sky is a drawing and I just want to create something like that.

In a press statement e-signed and resleased to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by LASTMA Spokeperson, Adebayo Taofiq stayed that, "Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have warned illegal traders to stop conducting businesses on our roads thereby causing traffic gridlocks on some parts of the State."

According to the statement, "The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba gave this warning over the weekend while addressing Officers on the need to ensure free flow of traffic during and beyond 'Ember Months' across the State."

"Mr .Oreagba disclosed that activities of these illegal traders impeded the free flow of traffic on major roads.

He disclosed further that Section (1) of the Lagos State Street trading and Illegal markets prohibition Law of 2003 prohibits both buyers and sellers from engaging in business activities at an unauthorized place: while there are various penalties/jail terms for anyone found guilty of contravening the Law.

"It has become worrisome having to spend many hours in traffic caused by illegal traders on our roads, thereby creating an artificial bottleneck."

According to Oreagba, this warning was also meant to protect lives of illegal traders from unforseen circumstances such as accidents from reckless private/commercial/truck/tanker drivers.

The General Manager lamented that these illegal trading activities persisted, despite several warnings to these illegal traders to stop displaying and selling wares on main roads, medians, road- setbacks, bus-stops, and drainage alignments.

Oreagba however called on market leaders to support the Agency in ensuring activities of these illegal traders are put under check to make our roads free for motorists and other road users across the State.
