The 50th American Music Awards took place on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The show, produced by dick clark productions and ABC, was hosted by Wayne Brady.

The star-studded event celebrated the year’s best music and performances, as voted on by fans.
Puerto Rican performer Bad Bunny topped the list of nominees this year with the most nods, earning eight, including his first-ever for artist of the year. He ended up taking home two awards – for favorite male Latin artist and favorite Latin album, for “Un Verano Sin Ti.”
The night belonged to Taylor Swift, however, who won in all six categories for which she was nominated, including artist of the year, the night’s top honor. The wins cemented Swift as the most decorated artist in AMAs history, with 40 career wins.
Performers who took the AMA stage included Pink, who opened the show, as well as Dove Cameron, Lil Baby, Bebe Rexha, Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons and others.
Lionel Richie, a 17-time AMA winner, was honored with the Icon Award for his career contributions to the music industry. Charlie Puth, Stevie Wonder and other artists gave a heartfelt tribute performance for Richie.

The show announced some of the winners prior to the broadcast.

Elton John took home his first AMA win since 1988 for best collaboration with Dua Lipa, becoming the longest-recognized artist in the awards show’s history. (He was first nominated for an AMA in 1974.)

Kathleen Martinez, an archaeologist at the University of Santo Domingo, has been searching for the lost tomb of Cleopatra for nearly 20 years. Now she believes she's made a pivotal breakthrough.
Martinez and her team uncovered a 1,305-meter (4,281-foot) tunnel, located 13 meters (43 feet) underground, the Egyptian Ministry for Tourism and Antiquities recently announced -- an architectural design experts called an "engineering miracle."
"The excavation revealed a huge religious center with three sanctuaries, a sacred lake, more than 1,500 objects, busts, statues, golden pieces, a huge collection of coins portraying Alexander the Great, Queen Cleopatra and the Ptolemies," Martinez mentioned.

"The most interesting discovery is the complex of tunnels leading to the Mediterranean Sea and sunken structures," she added. Exploring these underwater structures will be the next stage of her search for the Egyptian queen's lost tomb -- a journey that began in 2005.
"My perseverance cannot be confused with obsession. I admire Cleopatra as a historical character. She was a victim of propaganda by the Romans, aiming to distort her image," Martinez said.
"She was an educated woman, probably the first one who studied formally at the Museum in Alexandria, the center of culture in her time," according to Martinez, who said she admires Cleopatra as a student, a linguist, a mother and a philosopher.
When her husband, the Roman general Mark Antony, died in her arms in 30 BCE, Cleopatra took her own life soon after by allowing an asp to bite her, according to popular belief. The moment has been immortalized in art and literature -- but, more than two millennia later, little is known about where their remains lie.

A series of clues led Martinez to believe Cleopatra's tomb might be located in the Temple of Osiris in the ruined city of Taposiris Magna, on Egypt's northern coast, where the Nile River meets the Mediterranean.
Chief among them was the name itself. According to Martinez, Cleopatra was considered in her time to be "the human incarnation of the goddess Isis," as Antony was considered to be that of the god Orisis, Isis' husband.
Martinez believes Cleopatra may have chosen to bury her husband in the temple to reflect this myth. Of all the 20 temples around Alexandria she has studied, Martinez said, "no other place, structure or temple combines so many conditions as the temple of Taposiris Magna."

In 2004, Martinez took her theory to Zahi Hawass, an Egyptian archaeologist who was then Egypt's minister for antiquities affairs. Her project was approved a year later.
And after years of searching, Martinez feels she is getting close.
The excavations so far have revealed that "the temple was dedicated to Isis" -- which Martinez believes is another sign that the lost tomb lies nearby -- as well as the tunnels below the sea.

Now, Martinez said, she is at "the beginning of a new journey" -- underwater excavations.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian coastline has been battered by earthquakes over the centuries, causing parts of the Taposiris Magna to collapse and sink under the waves.
This is where Martinez and her team are looking next. Although it is "too early to know where these tunnels lead," she is hopeful.
If the tunnels lead to Cleopatra, "it will be the most important discovery of the century," she said.

This was made known in a statement signed by the Director General, PDP presidential campaign Organization, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state.

Venue of the presidential rally has been slated for Gombe Township Stadium, Gombe state by 11 am prompt, on Monday, November 21.

Tambuwal urged all elected members and party faithful to be present, as “ we join hands with Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa to recover Nigeria,” Tambuwal stated.

The main focus of this year’s Town Hall Meeting is to take a retrospective look at the current administration’s developmental strides across all spheres of governance particularly in the area of security.

The session co-convener Olumide Areo said that “there’s no doubt that the philanthropic landscape is changing, and we as impact contributors need to make sure we’re not left behind. While crypto donations may not be a perfect fit for every organisation or cause, they can be an incredibly powerful tool in the hands of people who are passionate about social justice issues and doing business of social good that benefit their communities.”

The session which lasted for about 1hr 30mins ended with the panellist Senator Ihenyen conclusion; we don’t yet know how much this new wave of giving will affect the world at large—but we do know that there’s no better time than now to start thinking about how important it is for everyone who wants peace around the world to contribute towards a digital environment where everyone can thrive together as equals.

New owner Elon Musk struggled Friday to harness the chaos he’s unleashed at Twitter, summoning the remaining engineers to the San Francisco headquarters and issuing new edicts on content moderation.

Musk called employees who “actually write software” to the afternoon summit a day after the chaotic exodus of hundreds of employees who refused to sign a pledge to work longer hours and sought to take him up on an offer of three months’ pay as severance. As they assembled, Musk tweeted that Twitter would stop amplifying hate speech and restore a few controversial accounts, though not that of former president Donald Trump.

Major companies have paused advertising on Twitter, adding to the financial pressure on the debt-laden enterprise, and an on-again, off-again relaunch of paid verification marks has spawned pranks and scams while confounding loyal users.

The requests to help him “better understand the Twitter tech stack” struck many engineers as absurdly late, given that he had fired about half of what had been more than 7,500 employees two weeks ago and then issued an ultimatum on Wednesday that prompted a subsequent wave of departures.

Several critical teams essential to keeping the site functioning were cut to a single engineer or none by the departures Thursday, leaving the company partially on autopilot and likely to crash sooner or later, engineers said.

The team that runs the service Gizmoduck, which powers and stores all information in user profiles across the site, was entirely gone, according to a recent department head who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to detail the departures.

Even without a mistake, the system can run only for so long with so little upkeep, tweeted Ramin Khatibi, a site reliability engineer who left Twitter in 2019: “The fact that Twitter continues to work is a testament to the 1000s of engineer years spent building that reliability. But as engineers, we know that failure is coming without continued investment to protect against the next thing.”

It wasn’t clear Friday who was still employed and for how long. Access to internal systems had not been cut for many who walked out, though several people who did not sign the pledge said Twitter locked them out of their corporate laptops on Friday, the first confirmation that they had effectively resigned. Employees estimated that roughly 1,000 refused to sign the pledge Thursday.

The Chairmen Lagos Island, Lagos State parks and garages management, (LASPGM) have assured Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on traffic flow in Apongbon and its environs following the partial closure of the Eko Bridge to motorists by the Federal Government on Sunday.

They made this known When the LASTMA, General Manager , Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, who led his team on a working visit to Eko Bridge, Apongbon Lagos on Monday, said, LASPGM traffic team will be deployed to all the strategic areas to ensure ease of movement from Lagos Island to Apongbo.

Comrade Hakeem Agboola, (Okoro) Chairman LASPGM,Lagos Island branch D' said LASPGM team will unanimously give the LASTMA maximum support to effort proper monitor of traffic control from Tinubu Square, Idumota, Martins Street, Balogun, Apongbon, Broad Street and Nnamdi Azikiwe Street around Lagos Island.

His counterparts, Lagos Island branch C' Comrade, Adekunle Lawal, aka KunlePoly added that LASPGM members ready for full support to ensure that there is no traffic hindrance in Apongbon and Lagos lsland.

As the 2023 general election draws closer, APC Lagos state House of Assembly (LAHA) candidate for Amuwo Odofin I, Hon, Folorunso Olusegun Olaitan (Ola Western) paid a visit to LASPGM Branch C' Chairman Amuwo Odofin, Prince Ajele Abeyi Abayomi (Ikomodina) at Mile 2 on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

The visit which was apparently a solidarity visit turned to a political walk as Ola Western’s supporters stormed Mile 2 Blue House.

Ola Western who arrived Mile 2 Blue House terminal at about 2:06 PM was welcomed with funfair by Mile 2 Community Youth, residents, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While addressing the youths who gathered at the Blue House, Ola Western said: “I only came here to greet you. We are glad with what Ikomodina has been doing in Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin. I thank you for all the support you have been giving me."

He continued: "I'm a product of the street like you. I'm a street man like you. This is my neighborhood. Therefore, my representing you is to make sure that your voice and that of the needy is heard."

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations department have enjoyed fresh energy and zeal across board - national headquarters and states commands - since the assumption of office of CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi as the 25th indigenous Force PRO.

National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can affirm that the training and retraining workshops, improved welfare, and discipline of erring officers as championed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba are yielding tremendous results.

Because of the promptness and effectiveness of the Force PRO, CSP Adejobi and his responsive officers across state commands in the Nigeria Police public relations department, many youths who would have normally lashed out at the men and officers of the Police now know better.

They can see the light. Infact many of them have turned Twitter and other social media to their report and complaints centres because they know they will receive adequate responses. This is despite the fact that CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi and States Command PRO's regularly publish and post official complaints channels and phone numbers of key Police officers.

And this has averted many issues which could have conflagrated the country, NAOSNP can report. Were they not adequately managed, citizens might have again experienced the terrible days of Endsars in 2020.

Some of the issues include the Ilupeju saga where some youths attacked officers on the road, the Osun state issue where a female officer was wounded by her senior, among issues of reports against Police DPOs including the most recent against DPO of Makinde, Mafoluku, Oshodi, CSP Ade Ajisebutu laid by investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo.

This birthday is a big celebration for CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi for his immense contribution to improving the relationship between Police, press, and public.

In his admiration of the excellent job done, the President of National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) Oki Samson affirmed that the Osun state-born Police cop has performed credibly and with credibility.

Crediting the man popularly known as 'Kabiyesi' among his Police department, the NAOSNP President, Oki Samson said about Adejobi, ‘You are a respectable personality by the diligence and excellence you have brought into the Police public relations team. I call it a team because yours is more than a department of officers, you work hand-in-hand supporting each other to grow. This is a good reference for Nigerian youths.'
