LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE GOD By Lateef Olaleye www.scrollreport.com The piece, The Obsessive Security Chap Called Yusuf Bichi, by Adebowale Yemi, which appeared in Thisday Newspaper edition of Saturday, 7th January, 2023 is by all indication a hatchet man’s job. This is more so that it came from Adebowale Yemi, the Saturday Editor who writes without logic and reason. He is a hatchet man. Aspects of his constituency have been in defence of the new paymaster in town, Chief Emefiele, the CBN Governor and former Presidential aspirant of no political party. The connection between Emefiele and Adebowale’s enclave is not in doubt. He is one writer without focus. As a loose cannon, he writes recklessly. He throws darts. He writes before he thinks. One wonders why a journalist of his standing (doubtful) would choose to write emotionally without facts. His previous writings on varied subject matters betray his exposure and composure as a lettered and trained penman. He simply casts aspersions on persons and tries to demean personalities he never came across. His tirade on Bichi, the internationally acclaimed Director-General of the DSS is unnecessary. Bichi is known for his calmness. He is a thorough bred intelligence officer who Adebowale has tried to present as a non-achiever. No. By the way, what does Adebowale know about intelligence and its management. I do not speak for the DSS. I will be surprised if the agency considers a response to the empty writing of Adebowale. A response to him will make him assume what and who he is not. But it is important that those who know Bichi and the discreet method of operation of the DSS put words across to the reading public lest it is believed that Adebowale is right. On Emefiele, the DSS has not muttered a word. It is only the CBN Governor that is running helter skelter; pillar to post; mobilising all sorts of persons, groups and organisations to attack Bichi and his organisation, the DSS. Emefiele is a Nigerian. Assuming he was invited by the DSS, shouldn’t he go to answer? No one is above the law. That’s what the rule of law entails. In this same country, we saw former NSAs, Military Chiefs investigated and/or prosecuted. Sponsored groups and people will exhaust. The time is nigh. DSS has maintained a studied silence without joining issues with Emefiele or his hired crowd. It is becoming apparent who the sponsors of the virulent attacks on Bichi are. Adebowale is doing the bidding of his pay master so he can earn his pittance. Rather than castigate Bichi, why not Adebowale and his cohorts encourage Emefiele to return to the country and not go into hiding in Jamaica and US. It is said that a clear conscience fears no accusation. Emefiele is doing all the reactions and defences. CSOs are holding press conferences for him. Clerics are defending him. Itinerant tribal associations and leaders are on his side. Good. Why don’t they advise him to come home and not abandon his seat. Neither the DSS nor Bichi has come out to confirm they are looking for Emefiele or even declared him wanted. Yet, there are court actions initiated by Emefiele group(s). The court has issued a restraining order on the DSS from arresting Emefiele. Why doesn’t he return home to continue with his work? This is what is important now. Not to abuse or call Bichi names. I am certain the Bichi I know will not utter a word of reply unless he is not the taciturn intelligence czar we all imagine him to be. For Adebowale, Bichi is a good for nothing person and has not achieved anything. To him and his ilk, Bichi should face criminal prosecution or get sacked as DGSS. Wonderful! What a recommendation? Adebowale actually showed his heightened ignorance when he stupidly argued that Bichi “dabbles into areas he has no business with”. He mentioned that DSS intervention in what would have been the mother of all fuel scarcities in Nigeria prior to the yuletide if the Service did not intervene, was a waste of time. Adebowale did not think the intervention was necessary. He did not ascertain from NNPC, NARTO, NUPENG, PTD, DAPPMAN, MOMAN and the regulatory authorities if that was timely and result oriented. It is also obvious that Adebowale does not understand the role of DSS as an intelligence agency, policy adviser, security organisation and a law enforcement outfit. That the agency is mandated to investigate economic sabotage of national security dimension is not in doubt. Only an Adebowale that did not see reason the impending sabotage was nipped. He preferred that the country went in flames as a result of the public agitations that would have followed the scarcity. The intervention did not matter to Adebowale. But it mattered to millions of ordinary Nigerians - home and abroad, who expressed their love for the agency under Bichi for the expeditious intervention. It is needless educating Adebowale on the workings of intelligence services. A research will help him. On Sowore, Dasuki and El-Zakzaky, Adebowale should hold his jaundiced views. It is still part of his entitlement as an educated illiterate. Does Adebowale still remember that El-Zakkaky and wife in 2019 demanded while in India, to be returned to DSS custody because they preferred it to that of India. Bichi was the DG and still remains same. Adebowale is using his pen wrongly. He is using it to misinform his audience. He is using it to espouse hate. Call him to defend his write up before the DSS and he will cry foul and run to everywhere. He cannot defend a line of his piece. He is only pushing an agenda as dictated to him by his controllers. To say that Bichi’s “disdain for the rule of law is legendary” is a careless statement. It is idiotic if not abusive. If Bichi, “has no business staying a day longer in office”, the President and Commander- in – chief would not have reappointed him to a second term in office. He was considered for the honour of reappointment due to his excellent services. On all fronts relating to the execution of DSS mandate, Bichi has scored all time high. Just recently, operatives under his command arrested those behind the bomb explosion in Kogi. This is just one out of many. Ask stakeholders about Bichi’s feats, analytical precision, preemptive disposition, team spirit and unparalleled achievements, he is an alpha man. He is not given to the type of noise that Adebowale’s circle make. Adebowale and his Emefiele gang can never equal the accomplishments of Bichi. Bichi has won laurels including awards in human rights, corporate and human resource management, interagency relations, humanitarian services among many others from within and outside Nigeria. He is a champion of repute that cannot be diminished by a thousand Adebowales. In the DSS, news abound of how his staff love him because of his affectionate and fatherly mien. Adebowale, you are wrong with Bichi. Look for another target. - Olaleye, is a public commentator and resides in Ile-Ife, Osun State

LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE GOD Just imagine that the internet existed in Biblical times What if the internet was there before the Great Flood, or when GOD led the Israelites out of Egypt We are living in the days of fulfillment of Biblical prophecies. If Biblical characters can be enjoying eternal publicity because of GOD'S Miracles, Noah- Abraham- Moses- David- Jesus Christ. You can only imagine what HE has in store for the days of HIS Power. Hagin, Copeland, Adeboye, Oyedepo- you, me (and) whoever cares to enlist. Journalists would definitely interview Noah and probably add a YouTube video about the ark The Chaldeans might have known about GOD'S change of name for Abraham via social media Israelites would have been streaming live across the red sea Jonathan and David's friendship would have fared better exchanging emails Paparazzi videos of Jesus's miracles will be hitting 100billion views now.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise GOD By Oluwaseun Fabiyi We are born differently on the surface of earth. Some are born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Others had their kernels cracked for them. For the most indelible set, they struggle through life to attain greatness. My hard-working award-winning big Aunty, Mrs. Olubunmi Ojo Afolabi belongs to this last descriptive category. Is there anything legitimate in the pursuit of life that Mrs. Olubunmi has not done, from academic, business to entrepreneurship, investment, diplomatic calling, spirituality, socio - transfiguration? to None! With a dints of hard work, this altruistic and affectionate character of a lovely Sister/Aunty has wined and dined with the high and mighty in the society despite his humble beginning. The Founder and CEO of Klassik Party Limited an event company based in London is a darling of high profile personnels, Kings, the wealthy and unparalleled personages in the society. I see with unbridle clarity that truly when there is will, there must be a way. In Mrs. Olubunmi Ojo Afolabi's psychology of life, the only impossibility in the world is what you have not given a trial in which many of her allies learnt from her outstanding performances. No wonder the award-winning Mrs. Olubunmi is winning every or most of her battles. Without pain there's no gain, I speak from a vantage to say that the socialite, quintessential beautiful woman that we celebrate today does not look like what she had passed through in life even as a widow. Sometimes when we reflect in our quiet sobriety, we always ended chorusing all adoration and praises to GOD. She has not for a day detach from the lowliest of the people in the society because she believes the only thing that distinguishes us all is the grace of God. Olubunmi Ojo Afolabi, can be fanatical to some three things in life, her Parents, Family, and God. She will not compromise on these triplets choices. Olubunmi, will let go her own desires and acquisitions just to make sure the next person flourishes if she was convinced that such a man or woman is more needy. She is rich in character, deeds and behaviour. On this anniversary of your Golden Jubilee celebrations galore, this is wishing my favorite resourceful Aunty long life. I pray for you that all doors that are opened will never be shut and the doors which are yet to open, GOD will deliver thy keys to you. Congratulations Ma'am. Oluwaseun Fabiyi, Publisher of BethNews, is the media aide to Mrs. Olubunmi Ojo Afolabi and Dreamfo Foundation International.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise GOD https://www.scrollreport.com/2022/12/russians-are-angry-putin-is-spending-billions-on-unpopular-war/ Russians are accusing Putin of ignoring domestic problems while focusing on the war in Ukraine. Some Russians are complaining about a lack of heating in their homes, The Daily Beast reported. Forbes Ukraine estimated last week that Russia has spent around $82 billion in the war so far. Russians are angry President Vladimir Putin is spending billions on an increasingly unpopular war in Ukraine as they freeze back home, The Daily Beast reported on Thursday. As Russian troops continue to strike Ukraine's vital power in fractures — plunging millions into darkness — Russians at home are also struggling to keep afloat amid crippling Western sanctions. People living in many of the remote regions of the country, where conditions are at their worst, have been complaining about a lack of heating in their homes and burst water pipes, The Beast reported, citing social media posts. Remote regions including Tyumen, Karaganda, and Yakutia are among the worst affected, reporting many victims of frost in the past week, the outlet reported. "They take young men—the only breadwinners—away and send them back in coffins. The guys freeze on the front, get sick, die while their families live in poverty," Valentina Melnikova, an activist with the Soldiers' Mothers Committee, told The Beast. "It seems authorities have no interest left in human lives at this point," she added. Nikolay Zolotov, a Russian blogger who lives in a republic in Siberia, told the Beast: "Dark times. Ukraine is surviving without heating and light and here in Khakasia our life is awfully hard." "Bursting pipes is not the worst problem: people live on tiny salaries in a poorly maintained city, without cash to buy food, while our government spends billions on the special operation in Ukraine," he added. It is unclear how much exactly Putin is spending on the war in Ukraine, which continues nine months after the Russian leader launched his large-scale invasion. Forbes Ukraine estimated last week that Russia has spent around $82 billion — a quarter of its annual budget. Among other costs, this estimate includes nearly $29 billion that Moscow has allocated to support its army with weapons and equipment, $16 billion for soldiers' salaries, and more than $9 billion to pay off the families of servicemen killed in combat. The war will not get any cheaper for Putin, Forbes Ukraine said, estimating that it will cost at least $10 billion a month going forward. The reports come amid numerous battlefield setbacks in recent weeks for Russia, which has started looking to countries like Iran, North Korea, and Syria for assistance. Other reports of mobilized Russian soldiers being deployed with little training and poor equipment have prompted more Russians to publicly voice their criticisms. Before the war, which started on February 24, Putin admitted that poverty was Russia's biggest challenge, calling it the country's "main enemy" in 2019, The Beast reported. "Our main goal is to improve the quality of life for our citizens," he said. Meanwhile, Russian attacks have crippled half of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, a top World Health Organization official said last month, leaving millions of people across the country without power and water. The upcoming winter "will be about survival" for Ukrainians, the official warned.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise GOD I may not do everything right but I'll communicate- Peter Obi to Nigerian Editors Ademola Adegbamigbe https://www.scrollreport.com/2022/11/i-will-resign-from-the-race-and-apologise/ Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, promised Nigerians that if they elect him President in 2023, he will perform well and be an effective communicator. He said this as a guest at the Editors’ Forum, organised to deepen democracy by the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in Ikeja Lagos. In his words: “I am not promising you that I will do everything right or solve every problem of Nigeria. But in those situations that I cannot provide a ready answer or defies my solution process, I will tell you Nigerians because what causes breach of trust and misunderstanding is when a leader doesn’t communicate with the people.” On the question whether his manifesto is in soft or hard copy, Obi asked Nigerians not to worry because the country does not lack written documents. “How to solve our problems is the issue because we have always lacked the implementation. “Before I became Anambra State governor, there had been committees, councils, and commissions on education reforms at the primary and secondary schools. While they all recommended that the mission schools should be returned to the missions, no government implemented it. But I was the one, without any such cumbersome processes, that made it happen. We need implementation, not volumes of documents that will at last not be put to use. Simple.” How will Obi solve the energy crisis in Nigeria? He responded: “I will declare war on energy. I will declare war on power generation and distribution. What has been stopping us from getting it right is corruption and insincerity. “Three countries in the world today have tripled their power generation within very few years, and all developing countries. In Africa, Egypt has done it. In Asia, Vietnam and India pulled such an uncommon feat also. So, because I know that our major problem is power supply, and with my promise to move Nigeria from consumption to production, I will make sure there is an adequate power supply in Nigeria to enable that.” Since politicians talk but to fail to implement promises, Obi said he would be different: “The first miracle a state or country does to turn things around is to attract the growth of law and order, that is the rule of law, and then quality education. I am sure they are doable. I know we have many challenges, but Nigerians are good people. Immediately they see that you are serious and sincere, I am sure they will give all their support. There is no other magic in quality leadership than creating trust with the people.” On accountability, Obi sumbitted: “I stand to say it boldly that if anyone on any day confronts me with any fact that I ever split or negotiated contract gains with any contractor in my eight years as governor, I will resign from this campaign and apologise to Nigerians. Any day anyone confronts me with any fact of cornering even a single plot of land of Anambra State while in office or after, I will resign from the race and apologise.”
