Top 10 most dangerous countries for women in the world:
1. India
2. Afghanistan
3. Syria
4. Somalia
5. Saudi Arabia
6. Pakistan
7. Congo
8. Yemen
9. NIGERIA
10. America

Time to WAKE TF UP and protect our women
Useless BBC bs as usual.
World's worst countries for women are South Africa, Norway, US, UK & France (ratio of rapes to population) and countries with highest number are US, South Africa, Norway, England and India (India because of big population; China doesn't submit its data).

It's no surprise as western countries always have highest crime rates in world while Asians have lowest.

Africans were also good until whites destroyed their countries.
rastaLivity:
America can't be on that list even if extended to 50
Americans are number one, highest in world. England is worst, having higher number ot rapes despite this small population.

Mk17:
the population of India alone is more than that of the whole of Africa or Europe.
Population of Africa: 1.21 billion
Population of India: 1.34 billion
Population of Europe: 741 millions
So, Europe + Africa > India
Africa's population is nearly same as that of India and growing at triple rate of India. It will become higher than India till 2021.

On the other hand, India's economy is 30% bigger than Africa and growing at double rate.
But yes, India is as big as a continent should be in population and subcontinent in area.
Mk17:
you should not be comparing the GDP of large and over populated countries with smaller countries.
you should use GDP per capita as they tell the true story.
GDP per capita is always to be measured in PPP. India is world's only industrialized lower middle income country. Hence, Indians have access to many technologies at cheap rate what people of other countries of same income level can't.

Second, GDP per capita doesn't give true picture but poverty ratio does. India's poorest are much richer than Africa's poorest. That's why India's HDI, middle class, production & consumption are much higher.

Africa runs on commodities, India runs on technology and industrialization.
Mk17:
there are almost 20 African countries including Nigeria with a higher and better GDP per capita than that of India.
India's GDP per capita was half of African average and population even much nigher, today India has 20% higher per capita GDP and will have more than double of Africa in less than 10 years.

Second, those 20 coubtries even which India will overtake soon are not really African. They either have oil or are Arabian settlements. Even Seychelles and Mauritius are Indian settlements. Only South Africa is good but they too have whites.

Third, per capita GDP
PPP Nigeria: 6,108
India : 8,461
Nominal Nigeria: $2,080
India: $2,207
Nigeria was richer than India at a point of time but not anymore and gap is only enlarging.
Nigeria's income keeps coming up & down depending upon oil and economic stability while India only goes up because its dependent on policies and not natural resources.

GDP per capita isn't good to compare either:
Human Development Index:
India: 0.640 (medium)
Nigeria: 0.532 (low)

Population below poverty line:
@$1.9/day
India: 3.7% Nigeria: 46.4%
@$3.2/day
India: 40.4% Nigeria: 68%
@$5.5/day
India: 67% Nigeria: 94%
Internet Penetration:
Nigeria: 25% India: 53%

We focus on everything and there's a reason we are called partially successful if not successful. Those who say Africa must learn from India are not idiots. Deep down, India has done even more and much better things.
Mk17:
you should be comparing India to continent as they need the money that is enough to run two continent so their citizens can live a meaningful life
Indeed but India's population isn't as big as two continents. India has suffered most difficult times and improved a lot since then. Seing that right now India's per capita income is close to Africa is not going to give Africans happiness for very long.

We are doubling our income in every 8-10 years.

Gandhi was nothing, neither a President nor a Prime Minister, in fact not even a mayor. He was a British law student turned freedom fighter. He had good intentions but his belief in pacifism and values was more than stupid. Even British sidelined his protests calling them minimal. He was just over glorified and given with credit of other freedom fighters by Indian National Congress party because he was their member.

The actual credit is for SC Bose who mobilized & assembled Indian Royal army into rebellion. British empire had only 40k soldiers left in India after World War 2 and Indian soliders we're enraged enough to eviscrate them. That's why they left India and many other similar countries.

China never grew during their closed economy system. World's three socialist giants Soviet Union (East Block), People's Republic of China (East Block) and Republic of India (Neutral) successfully indigenized things in first 10 years but suffered worse than Nigeria is today being thereafter.

China could solve this only after being capitalist from 1978, India could only after dropping socialism in 1991 while Soviet Union didn't change and its economy collapsed.
No country with closed economy was ever successful in world's history.

But here a random chat was enough to give mental stunts to you guys.
CelebritiesRe: Alex Iwobi Is A Gorilla - Esha Gupta Blasted For Sharing Racist Chat With Friend by Goel: 6:16pm On Jan 28, 2019
LOL really, so much time and a sharp brain you guys have got that you are judging a country of more than 1 billion people who have all types looks like Whites, Latinos, Yellows and Blacks and declare all of us racists for a pathetic joke by 1 actress? Rarely any single race would there be in world which doesn't exist in this "racist" India.

Shouldn't you guys yourself count how many jokes you guys would've cracked on Indians?

Whites, yellows and blacks have been far more racist towards Indians since start of modern history, more than Indians are or ever would be. From East Asia and Myanmar to Africa and Europe, Indians have been subjected to atrocities & ethinc cleanings by black as well as white people.

Case is different that Indians stood up, pull their lives off, to make India once world's poorest country a middle income one and non resident Indians themselves became richest people in Africa & West. May be that's why Indians are richer than Africans in African countries and richer than whites in European countries and India became 11 times richer country in just 29 years.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_groups_in_the_United_States_by_household_income

Or racism won't make any difference to Indians because Indians don't care. Even on this forum, a Nigerian called ME a "curryman" whom I ignored. Because what you think doesn't make any difference to me. But personal chat of girl somehow hurts your ego.

Do you guys know? Being fair skinned is a standard of beauty of girl and nothing else in India? Your job or living standards aren't going to be affected? Or because Indians can get their skin color changed?
This is me:

I'm brown now. I was same as that of a white person when I was 10 years old and same as that of an African in my teenage. Because I migrated from colder to hotter part of India. If I try to look fair skinned again just because I think it suits my face will make me a racist?

Or I shouldn't because Africans think that its racist because Europeans suppressed them? Meanwhile, color based racism is meaningless in India. I have right to groom myself and modify my looks in any way I want.

More pathetic jokes,
South Indians treated badly? Only as slangs by foreigners. Coz they are richest, most educated and respected citizens all around India because of their image of being most civilized people everywhere in India.
caste system, if you actually think that this system works & actually able to influence jobs of people in anyway in India. Christianity itself has a caste system.

Even either of China, India or US won't exceed $70 trillions in 2050. Nigeria's population is growing fast, not economy or income. It still will not go beyond $4-5 trillions. But yeah, it still will become a significant country.
We have to see that Nigeria's growth story with perfect demography will start when Asian economies will have prospered and matured like Europe. Hence, their growth will be slow.

China & Northeast Asia will be highly developed countries like US & Western Europe and India & Southeast Asia will be partially developed countries like Russia and Eastern Europe. Growth will not be there and populations will be declining. But their economies will be still far bigger, their people will be far richer & militarily stronger than Africa, Europe and rest of world, much stronger than they are today.

Nigeria's growth story will start when others' will to shag. Nigeria will be a full fledged big power till 2100 A.D. though. But for next few decades, it has to recover.

Africans has always a system of government; it just needs a few tweaks that would set to be fit the 21st century.

Whatever it’s eventually associated with, democracy, communism, socialism or whatever, will be deliberated upon and chosen by Africans and not imposed ones.
In my opinion, you guys have a great advantage that you can learn from mistake of others. West doomed itself with inequality while capitalizing while Soviet socialism kept every citizen equally poor. China & India screwed their economies trying to run socialist economies and experienced economic gains after dropping it.

Best is to put a free market liberalized economy with an array of socialist scheme to help poor. You'd need capitalization to increase per capita income of your countries and second part will make sure that no one is deprived completely off that boom. But first thing Africa will have to do is dismantle all foreign military bases & interventions.

West is already stuck, Asia will age and stop growing in next 4-5 decades, best wishes to Africa.

This is the type of thought process that needs to be challenged here. Moreover, ancient Egypt is merely a part of African history.

Humanity began in Africa and its here the early civilisations are born. Civilisation does not appear in a vacuum. It’s simple logic.

All major civilisations are as a result of the influence from earlier ones.
First:
Mesopotamia, Indus Valley Civilization and Egypt came into existence at very close instances of time, less than 200 years of gap. As humans could not migrate & habitate far away there Near East and India in such short period, they aren't influenced by each other for sure. Their cultures & languages too are quite distinct. It's just up with Mesopotamians who were your neighbours.

They might have some resemblance in some aspects of behaviour & architecture because they might have belonged to same tribe at some period of time. Otherwise, Indian and East Asian literature has nothing common with Abrahamic one. So is Egypt.

Second:
"This type of thought process needs to be changed."
Means what? Humans originated in Africa and habitated rest of world. Africans habitated world, not African kings expanded their empire.
Humans had left Africa to establish civilizations in Asia before Egypt came into existence.

Ultimately, everything we can get is contradicting that Egypt ever ruled world or mankind. At least with free thought process.
Amujale:
Maybe because I haven’t made clear enough it’s easy for you to misconstrue my reference to super continent, in purely historical terms (the early map of Africa, where that version of Africa is not only a continent but super-continent) with the geological version of super continent as you seem to have done.
That's utter faulty, Africa isn't a supercontinent even if you add middle east to it.

According to present day historical facts, when ancient Egypt that built the pyramids ruled the world (super continent),.... All the early civilisations of the world all occurred within the super continent.......... At the heights of their civilisation, ancient Egypt (Kemet) rule over all of the super continent
Amujale:
The line from which all my FACTS are derived are from present day African scholars.
Quote a few of them saying what you said?
Amujale:
For instance, it is a universal fact that humanity began in Africa.

According to history (real history that is) there was a point in time when the only humans that lived on our planet had residence in Africa.
Never denied that but you are badly mixing ancient human history with biological & geographical prehistory.
Amujale:
These are not mere assertions, they are proven facts.
Radio isotope dating tells us that first homo sapiens were from Africa.

Bur founded first modern civilizations in Asia, that's of Mesopotamia and Indus Valley Civilization, people who founded following civilizations of middle east, Iran and India and later travelled to Europe, North East Asia and Americas through Russia during ice age. Egypt was founded along in Africa.

There is no citation from any scholar or any proof that Egypt ever expanded its frontiers much beyond Africa. More important, supercontinent had ceased to exist back then.

India, Japan identifying joint projects in Africa under their growth corridor project
Based on the success of the AAGC initiative in Africa, the two countries would undertake joint projects in Asia, the source added. Japan was also investing in connectivity and infrastructure project in India’s North-Eastern region.

India and Japan have started the process of identifying projects they propose to undertake together under the Asia-Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC), an economic cooperation initiative of the two countries seen as a counter to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
‘’The two countries are in constant touch. The idea is to first launch infrastructure projects in African countries which will be beneficial for the people,’’ a top diplomatic source said. Initially, the two countries propose to concentrate on launching projects in some of the most impoverished African nations.
While playing down the general impression that the AAGC was aimed at countering China, the source explained that the vision of the India-Japan initiative was based on four pillars – development and cooperation on projects, quality Infrastructure and institutional connectivity, enhancing capacities and skills and people-to-people partnerships.
Based on the success of the AAGC initiative in Africa, the two countries would undertake joint projects in Asia, the source added. Japan was also investing in connectivity and infrastructure project in India’s North-Eastern region.
“We would naturally like the initiative (Asia-Africa Growth Corridor) to be based on universally recognised international norms, good governance, rule of law, openness, transparency and equality,” added the source.
One of the reasons New Delhi cited for staying away from China’s BRI was that China did not hold any consultation with India before embarking on it. India’s primary objection to the Chinese initiative has been that its flagship project, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), passes through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
Tokyo, unlike New Delhi, has joined China’s BRI. But Japan’s troubled relationship with China has cast a shadow over its enthusiastic participation in the initiative, which has lately also come in for criticism for putting smaller participating nations at the risk of being caught in a debt-trap.
The source acknowledged that there must be a strong sense of local ownership that could only happen with consultative project designing, transfer of technology and encouragement of skills.
The source said connectivity aspects of the AAGC would be supplemented with quality infrastructure. The growth, led by the initiative in Africa and Asia, would be responsive to the collective commitment for sustainable development goals.

Interesting - so demographic dividend - is showing up more savings & investments by households?.
Saving culture was always there in India, we are directing it for investments.
rvp20183:
I thought there was major push for "MADE IN INDIA" and huge attempt by current leadership to formalize India economy.
Yes there is but non of initiatives is that efficient at the moment.
India will have 95% literacy, 60% skilled labour, 50% urban population, upper middle income levels, 500 million middle class and a reasonable living standard by 2030. Many of strides in military and space technology would have been achieved and India would be third largest economy after China & the US.

This demographic dividend will work only after that to efficiently multiply economy with innovation based Industrial growth. So, before the time comes, India needs plan better cities like west, make more & more airports and infrastructure to ensure that needs of people are fulfilled.

If India wants to be developed, it will have grow 8-9% for 4-5 decades, if India wants to be as rich as west, it will need the magic number of 11% to achieve 70-80% of per capita income of Americans.

And unlike 7.5% growth we got just from demographic dividend after opening economy, 11% won't come itself. We'll have to make efforts for this. Export based growth + consumption based growth and profit margin of exported stuff should also be high.

Maximum of people should be educated & not just literate and Indians should have relatively better standards of living as well as skill.
rvp20183:
Yes pollution is major problem in most asia cities - and the early they deal with it - the better. They need to really invest in clean energy - right now India is the major importer of oil - and all dirty coal - and that can only lead to more pollution.
We have started to do already. We are heavily investing in nuclear & solar energy and to out all vehicles on electrical energy in few years. Rising demands may still force to use fossil fuels.

But yes, the pollution which was done is done now.

Pretty impressive. Just like 7% plus growth rate that India is pulling. What is leading the push to urbanization - I guess manufacturing (for most of them) & maybe high tech (software & biotech in Bengaluru). Perhaps maybe service sector - finance & intermediation -
The growth ongoing right now is not an achievement but natural result of India's demographic dividend, will result into haphazard growth. India is neither growing nor bearing fruits alike China's planned growth. It will be that somewhere around 2030-35.
India needs to replan itself into an upper middle income country for actual growth.
BTW, pollution is really a problem. Damn, I just landed im Australia and realized what Oxygen is. embarassed
but there doesn't seem to be a lot of push to push for resort or tourist cities.
Well, there is a lot actually. India has one largest & fastest growing tourism industries, worth $210 billions.

Its not often in news though.

You're still new and yet to realise these guys have no real facts, figures or stats to back up their belief they're beyond Kenya-just feelings, delusional feelings, tbh from years of hearing the 'African Giant' rammed into their ears.
NairobiWalker:
Let's ignore everything else for a moment and let the bolded part sink..............

Thank you. cool cool
Guys, you aren't able to understand what I've been shouting. Stop this nationalistic chest thumping.

You didn't choose to be born as a Nigerian or Kenyan. I didn't choose to be born as Indian, Chinese, African or European. I was just asking you guys to acknowledge stats.
This is meaningless to take pride in which country we are born. It's just our luck.
Nigerians are defending themselves on internet thinking they are fighting a great war because they might have seen something very good about Nigeria which we haven't. So, are you guys demeaning their country.
If we could explain things to each other humbly, wouldn't everyone listen to us understand.

obaaderemi:
Thanks @ bolded. But I don't think you've simplified anything here. You've not said anything anyone with basic knowledge of world affairs does not know. grin
Can you kindly point out where I said anything to suggest the bolded? I merely gave the lie to your claim that poorer economies always grow faster than richer economies by citing the examples of relatively poor economies such as Venezuela (-1.7& GDP growth), South Africa (-7% growth), and let me add Jamaica (0.5% GDP growth).
I used the word usually for a very good reason. Those countries are facing depressions. Moreover, with an exception of South Africa, all of them are living in more advanced stages of society. You guys could face famine if same thing happened to you.

They are "exceptional" countries.
Or other case could be that most of low income people live in Asia and Oceania and they are growing.
obaaderemi:
And Nigeria (2.3%gdp growth) despite the fact that we are just exiting recession. Unless you don't know how debilitating an economic recession can be. That 2% growth is an upward trajectory that deserves some applause. Heck,we dropped below 1%! And I sincerely believe that upward trajectory is due to the fact that the Nigerian economy is more diverse than previously thought.
My judgement over recession and revival was about oil prices and Nigeria's consumer class.

If you can give a figure of economic diversity, I'll appreciate. Otherwise, I'll quote a source for it.
obaaderemi:
If I didn't know better, I would think so @ bolded. grin But trust me I know better and I can tell people apart, especially sane people from the less so. No,your opinions to me, are honest so far.
Well, if things were that straight forward, there wouldn't have been argument between Africans for having most beautiful places.
obaaderemi:
Thanks@bolded. To answer your question: I would say the decline to 2% was due not only to oil crash but also a poorly judged monetary policy by the present government. I told you we declined far below 1%. For us to be at 2% now is an upward swing and a clear evidence of the resilience of the Nigerian economy. 2019 is even going to be better according to projections.
Well, if you're asserting so, I'll step back a bit. I know about Asian economies primarily and get an overview of other economies. For Nigeria, I had opinion for oil & young population coz Nigeria's economy is dominated by oil.
obaaderemi:
I guess I have answered this. We once were among the three fastest growing economies in the world a mere 5years ago. If we Are at 2% now from -8%, pray tell me, how is that an indication that our income is declining? We are gradually getting back on our feet. That said, all is said is said on that matter, please.
Population growth rate of India: 1.09%
GDP growth rate of India: 7.4%
So, GDP per capita growth rate: ~6.8%

Population growth rate of world: 1.09%
GDP growth rate of world: 2%
So, GDP per capita growth rate: ~1.8-1.9%

Population growth rate of Nigeria: 2.58%
GDP growth rate of Nigeria: 2%
So, GDP per capita growth rate: ~ -1.3%

Look you are running high here because I called 6% growth rate impressive. It sucks when your population growth rate is greater than 1.75%. So, is Pakistan and so is Nigeria in this aspect.

Moreover, maintaining the growth for just 5-7 years isn't enough either. Economic booms which are known to transform countries are known to run for decades, not short lived blooms.
And governments design their policies and economies for it, struggle for it.
obaaderemi:
Don't be silly, our politicians don't share pictures of airports and infrastructure and such things. And if they do,it's not different from what your politicians do as well. grin To suggest that the private sector has little contribution to infrastructure and development in Africa is plain ignorant.
Well, I've found individual project basis flaunting from Twitter. They might be fanboys if not politicians. In East, it goes statistically, in West, it goes subjectively.

A figure of local infrastructure firms would reflect better. So, how do Nigerian road authorities work? Do they assign tender.
obaaderemi:
Right now,one of the largest petrochemical refineries in the world is nearing completion in Lagos and it's privately funded. There are numerous projects time would not permit me to list here.
You could use the figures like Nigeria's infrastructure budget or length of paved roads and highways completed every year.
obaaderemi:
We have largely contained Boko Haram @ 1st bolded. They are confined to north eastern part of Nigeria. They mainly attack villages. Our economic cities have always been free from the menace of Boko Haram. Terrorism is Hydra headed and not easy to finish as you think. Kudos to our military.
Well congrats for what you've done. I'm just asking for minimizing the effect enough to attract more investments. Minimal terrorism ensures safety to assets. So, more investments will be there.
obaaderemi:
@2nd bolded: you sounded like IMF with its ignorance about thinking it knows what works for all poor countries. grin One size never fits all, bro. Clothing and steel industries are not the easiest and most profitable industries that could solve Nigeria's unemployment and economic problems quickly. What would work for Nigeria is agriculture and agro allied industries that can add value to what we produce. These will not only feed our people but also provide employment and foreign exchange. Light manufacturing of things we need would also help.
Those are supplementary things which can't rapidly add up things as easy you think. Moreover, Nigeria has to lift lot people outta poverty. Profit margin is minimal in agriculture. Technological advancements for military & space programs or expertise of other sort of research won't be there.

Clothes, steel & concrete etc. industries produce commodities consumed nearly by everyone with little fluctuation in demand and give relatively better profit margin, it will be ideal being deported from developed and upper middle income countries now.. Lightweight industries will bloom themselves with demand.

If you want to do anything, no country has achieved economic boom without focusing on heavy industry i.e., boilers, reactors & machinery.
Agricultural stuff can be imparted. When India and SE Asia underwent green revolution, worlds had scarcity of food which doesn't exist today.
Countries who make finished products have better growth, trade balance and life than ones producing raw material.
obaaderemi:
You are right @ bolded. I took the liberty to correct your error. Nigeria is Africa's largest economy.

The Kenyans would not like your closing shot especially the bolded. grin
Let's a bit honest to both. Kenya and Ghana have been far more successful in socio economics. Nigeria's per capita income is close only because of oil. Without it, its no different than Congo or Niger.

On other hand, its only substantial country in Africa and destined to lead Africa one day even if caught up with world average.
It's population with a reasonable income will allow it to emerge as a significant power on world map.

I'm very very sorry to say we'll never be completely rid of terrorism-we're in an undeclared with the West. This is how they hit us:with delusional mindless Jihadis unknowingly serving an agenda of economic sabotage and inflicting maximum emotional trauma. Its not just Kenya or Africa but a global strategy of the World Elites.
Terrorists will always exist in small or large proportions. They can't be brought down to zero ever.
kikuyu1:
Goel, tell us who is arming your naxalites and what is their agenda!
Naxalites are communists supported by Soviet Union in past. Now, they have little international support.

Their aim is to overthrow India's government to create Marxist Leninist state in India with totally socialist government. India's economy already suffered for decades because of socialism which keeps everyone equally poor. We don't want that again.

Socialist Russia was a failure and China succeded only after 1978 dropping it. India did in 1993 and has become 11 times bigger in nominal GDP despite steep currency fall.
kikuyu1:
Correct,my bad! Truly, you're a military observer as you say to know this info-do you know which country exactly? India is a gamechanger in global weapons supply:your products are tested from the scorching Thar to the frozen Himalayas. Your countryman here told how the Tejas 2 was cold started around the Siachen glacier-successfully! Your indig weapons systems, the arty, choppers and missiles will change the game sooner rather than later.
Game changer is an exaggeration for tactical weapons as they are possessed by Western & Eastern countries too. Only thing India can provide is low cost. For now, even India is struggling with critical technologies like high bypass turbofans. Making aircraft engines is more difficult job than space rocket engines. Since I'm an engineer from related field, we can discuss technicalities too if you want.

Real game changers are India's anti missile shield and strategic weapons though which will probably never be exported. One or two ships of Kolkata or Vizag class destroyers with S5 submarine can wipe out many navies of Africa alone.
Anyways, if you're a fan of helicopters, here is lch, advanced version of Rudra.

theenchanter:
yeah, in numbers... i forgot to add that.

But is cost of living a major factor in that metric?
That will matter different for different items. India is cheaper to live than West and China, not Africa.

Only industrial commodities or certain food products are cheaper in India which Africans don't produce. Africans have to import them.

Everything produced by both India and Africa will be cheaper in Africa because of cheap labour.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Goel: 6:09pm On Jan 15, 2019
kikuyu1:
True-I can only say an African country wants to coproduce your Rudra.
I don't think so. Latest Rudra is much better, costiler and listed among world's best attack helicopters and already has potential orders.

Africa would like to co produce India's HAL ALH & LUH in weaponized version. Its cheap and easy technology to absorb.
It can also pave for Africa to co produce India's future medium & heavy lift helicopters under research currently at cheap costs. Imagine African capitals mired with helicopters like Europe.

Anyways, what's going on there Nairobi? I heard about an attack from Al Shabab.
theenchanter:
sir..... nigeria is currently d poverty capital of d world, india dropped to d second.

Do u think cost of living is a major determinant of the survey? Nigeria, like india has a very low cost of living, cheaper than almost all african countries, and since poverty is rated as living below $3 per day or $1.9 for extreme poverty, most nigerians dont live above that figure on a daily basis because our cost of living per day is not up to that.

From ur experience, what are d other criterion for the survey with genuine interpretation since most economists are actually against the $3 standard?
You can't call India a poverty capital because India is high only in numbers. In percentage terms, India is just at 3.6%. Nigeria is 46.4%, just like other unindustrialized African countries.

Goel, you're still new here and haven't realised the biggest Naijjan tendency,a belief in emotionally comforting narratives, however fake. This coupled with an unhealthy obsession in denigrating others explains the tone and length of this thread. We've exhaustively covered their economic sectors including their total port throughput and believe you ME THESE GUYS ARE LIGHTWEIGHTS!
Here's an honest expert speaking 8 yrs back way before their recession:
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/half-of-nigerians-live-in-slums-un/

That's why their picspam never ends-they have no facts to support their alleged Giant status and know it.
Stop hating each other for nationalism guys.
Giant is essentially for large country and Nigeria is largest country in many aspects in this region.

They have problems indeed and I didn't deny. Mother nature gave them lot of oil and opportunities, they just need to learn to tap it.
mtisTheQubit:
Boss is true that the Indian constitution was influenced much by a lower caste person of interest an thus why life in India is much cheaper than other countries(am talking about food an other stuff)
Yeah, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a guy from so called lower caste. He worked not only for lower castes but for all powerless in India. I belong to so called upper caste but I'm a great fan of him for liberalism.

But cheap cost of stuff in India has nothing to do with constitution. India is a lower middle income country like African friends. Anything produced in our countries is cheaper than rest of world.

But exception is that India has implemented an industrial base like Rich & Upper middle income countries. The day Africa starts to produce things what India produces, Africa will have lower cost of living than India.

Ibrahimanis:
I Am of mind that India is just beginning to grow, and you say it will start to decline at the end of the century, why?
Coz India is too late. India has opened economy only in 1993 what India should have done decades earlier.
South Korea did same since start and became developed country.

https://www.livemint.com/Opinion/b77y9kGTmGV0lK5RmStNLP/Will-India-turn-old-before-it-becomes-rich.html

https://blogs.wsj.com/indiarealtime/2015/07/31/how-india-will-start-shrinking-after-2050/

India's fertility rate is near replacement level, population growth is close to 1% and increasing life expectancy with medical services only adds old people unable to work for country. So, we are a bit late.

India was very good with social development efforts but was late for economic reforms. You can see, our population growth and poverty ratio are high of yours despite same income level.
India an at its best can only become a middle income economy like Malaysia or Thailand. Not anywhere near Europe at least in this century.

But yes, it will be world's only left global power after US & China decline because big population and upper middle income will make Indian Economy & military budget even bigger.

India is world's last big country where there is a room for economic boom and economic boom is happening. Other countries are either way small or way developed to grow further.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Century

Only a United Africa can be bigger in next century.
Kazikazi:
That will work better if there is a minimal shrinkages! In the issue of continuous shrinkages like what is projected in Japan,it will be impossible to substitute it with anything.Japan's population is projected to shrink to 85 millions in the year 2050 from the current of 124m. By 2800 it will go down to only 2 millions people.Definitely buying of luxuries won't help.
I was actually replying to question about how to survive a population decline.
No way I said that you can sustain your economy with declining population. You will fall down sooner or later. China, Japan & Russia are witnessing it, India Vietnam and Bangladesh will soon, even much before becoming rich.
