Kalatium:lol, at times I write but the one written there is from a song, stained glass masquerade by Casting Crowns. |
triple996:not all Jews reject Jesus. The first church was mainly of Jews in their thousands from people, priests and ex-pharisees |
Sleekfingers:No Jesus is not God, Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God YHVH. |
NetbizBoss:Yeshua, Yahoshua. Yasha, Joshua does it really matter. They translated most Yod into J, and it is more important to know the son of the one true living God and listen and obey God's word through him, is it not? |
MikeMicheal:if you were taught from birth, was it because they hated you or because they loved you? |

derico:without the law there was sin, for even before the laws of Moses was given there was sin Rom.2.12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law. Please read Rom.7.7 - 20 Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is evil? Of course not! The law is not sinful, but it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, "Do not covet." But sin took advantage of this law and aroused all kinds of forbidden desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power. I felt fine when I did not understand what the law demanded. Sin used the law to bring more condemnation and more desires for men to rebel against God, and for those who do not know the law, they feel they are okay, the feel they are fine and they have life they live in a lie unaware of the death awaiting them But when I learned the truth, I realized I had broken the law and was a sinner, doomed to die. So the good law, which was supposed to show me the way of life, instead gave me the death penalty. Sin took advantage of the law and fooled me; it took the good law and used it to make me guilty of death. But still, the law itself is holy and right and good. But how can that be? Did the law, which is good, cause my doom? Of course not! Sin used what was good to bring about my condemnation. So we can see how terrible sin really is. It uses God's good commandment for its own evil purposes. The law is good, then. The trouble is not with the law but with me, because I am sold into slavery, with sin as my master. I don't understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do the very thing I hate. I know perfectly well that what I am doing is wrong, and my bad conscience shows that I agree that the law is good. But I can't help myself, because it is sin inside me that makes me do these evil things. I know I am rotten through and through so far as my old sinful nature is concerned. No matter which way I turn, I can't make myself do right. I want to, but I can't. When I want to do good, I don't. And when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway. But if I am doing what I don't want to do, I am not really the one doing it; the sin within me is doing it. |
donbenie:what is needed to believe that is understanding that the entrances into the mosy holy place where God's ark rests were called, the door of truth and the curtain of life. Jesus was literally saying he is the way to God and those who want to get to God have to go through him. It's okay if you don't want to enter and meet God, but you should at least be sure that what you claim to know is actually true and not a lie. Before you reject the truth for a lie. |
richmond500:and you saved yourself from it? |
Rom.4.20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,... How did Abraham not waver, it is because he asked God for help, he asked God to help him believe. This is what is recorded in Genesis 15, when God appeared to Abram to bless him, Abram instead asked what use are the blessings when he has no child, and then God's answer was that he should count the stars if he can number them. Frankly speaking Abram believed in God and laughed at what He said, like he did in Gen 17:17 but Abram believed in God even though he doubted what he heard. And Abram asked God for proof? Faith is evidence, can you have faith without it? Gen.15.8 But Abram replied, "O Sovereign LORD, how can I be sure that you will give it to me?" Abram was strengthen by the proof God showed him, God showed him the future. Abram didn't just hear God, God also made him see the future. When we do not believe let's be like that man who came to Jesus for his son who was thrown into fire and at times into water, when he cried out to Jesus, help my unbelief. Look God's word doesn't need our believe for it to come through, we need our believe to receive them and when we can't believe let us ask God who is speaking to us for help. Even Peter did when he waivered at the storm and fell. |
According to these laws:First off why what you have written is a lie Lev.15.16 "Whenever a man has an emission of semen, he must wash his entire body, and he will remain ceremonially defiled until evening. It doesn't matter how he released his sperm, be it masturbation or during sex, he is unclean till evening. Not that the laws of uncleanliness matter anymore seeing Jesus has set us free from those laws and has cleansed us. But you twist the scriptures for your own message and purpose. Then you lie that, "God killed Onan because he in outright disobedience, desecrated his semen by pouring it out on the floor instead of procreating with Tamar." Whereas God killed him for his selfish wickedness. You do not understand the law nor do you know God. Because if you did you wouldn't write such Lev.15.18 - After having sexual intercourse, both the man and the woman must bathe, and they will remain defiled until evening. Did you even read the verses you quoted. Ah you are an example of why those who attend church must READ whatever is been quoted Gen.38.9 - 10 But Onan was not willing to have a child who would not be his own heir. So whenever he had intercourse with Tamar, he spilled the semen on the ground to keep her from having a baby who would belong to his brother. But the LORD considered it a wicked thing for Onan to deny a child to his dead brother. So the LORD took Onan's life, too. And Abutwins, this is what is written Gen.38.7 But Er was a wicked man in the LORD's sight, so the LORD took his life. |
AbuTwins:What are you even writing about, have you ever read the Bible before? Or you are making things up again from your imagination? |
Can you transform a church whose foundation isn't Christ, it is different when they struggle or fail in one or two areas but when their very foundation is destroyed what will the righteous do? When people choose stay and keep up the performance each wearing their own masquerade, will you drag them out of their act? Have you heard the song stained glass masquerade by Casting Crowns. When people's definition of faith is to lie instead of to listen, when it is what we say rather than what God is saying. When faith comes from within and not from hearing God, what should we expect when the very gospel preached and practiced is a lie. Even if you speak the truth, you would even be made to feel even worse "Everybody seems so strong I know they'll soon discover That I don't belong" "I play the part again So everyone will see me The way that I see them" It's only when no one is watching "Can we really fall apart Or would it set me free If I dared to let you see The truth behind the person That you imagine me to be? Or would your arms be open? Or would you walk away? Or would the love of Jesus Be enough to make you stay?" The sad thing is people choose to stay in those places you tagged, "hypocrital churches" till one day they can't tell the truth anymore and become like one of those who did what they once felt "but this is wrong" |
Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. (Ephesians 5:17-18) |
The message that brought you to Jesus can you remember it? This question is may be tough to answer, even for me, many don't even remember the day or period they surrendered all to Jesus. Well I can't understand how anyone can forget the day they choose to die, the day they choose to forsake all and follow Jesus, the day they made a vow and commitment except they never took it seriously or it wasn't a serious moment in their lives. Paul would repeat his encounter a number of times as we read through acts, to show how much of an impact that was in his decision to follow Jesus. But do you know Paul may not have remembered Stephen's words and prayer he heard. Personally my answer to that question honestly is no, I don't remember the exact message but I remember my encounter with Jesus. Infact I remember the answer a new convert from a federal boys school in Lagos, gave one day and because of that answer he is one of the few names I remember from highschool, what did he say that day, "speak the truth in love". I remember incidents like these because they formed the echoes of the words that rang in my heart for years. This is what I want to say to those who evangelize, it doesn't matter how people react when you preach, just trust the Holy Spirit he does the work you cannot do, just obey God and go, obey God and speak. Forget about the bad boy or girl everyone once saw you as, and let God put his words in your mouth. Your message may be the key to unlock the soul of someone. Some of you it may have been the words of your parents, the words of someone in a bus or some friend you may not even remember. But today I hope you remember that you encountered Jesus because someone else let God use them and so let someone else encounter Jesus because of you. That my friends is love at work through you. God bless you

TenQ:have you read my answer here https://www.nairaland.com/8342531/answering-question-god-omnipresent Or are you being evasive? |
TenQ:if I have been evasive as you have claimed, why haven't you answered any of the simple questions as well? |
Baldwretch:I believe in God, and you question is truly a weighty one but may I ask you, have you ever read the contents of "Muhammad's revelation" I for one haven't, but I believe it is from the content that one may see if it's false or not. Does it contradict what Gabriel said to Daniel, Zecharias and Mary? One thing I do not agree with that I have heard from some Muslim interpreters of their scriptures is that Muhammad is the last prophet or that he is the promised comforter from Jesus. I believe that if indeed Muhammad received a divine revelation from God it is also highly possible for men to also corrupt such said prophecy. And I would like harqinhola, to comment on this as well. I do consider his response if truly accurate as I do not know for sure, but if indeed Muhammad was such a man it would be unlikely for him to lie about such an incident as what was he to gain. Well he did conquer nations which is very opposite from every other prophet recorded in the scriptures. Now "The Message’s Consistency and Ethical Standards" is a valid point but such would also be the case for Buddhism as well shouldn't it, from the little I have heard about it. Justice, kindness and the like. Preaching morals as been a norm in many religions but actually achieving it, ah well. I know there are those who purposely try to paint Muslims in a bad light, but since the question is focused on if the spirit that spoke to Muhammad was from God or from the devil, I believe we can only answer it this way. What was the purpose of the revelation? Was it praising Muhammad or was it saying that only God can save us as long as we obey Him? And does obeying God entail we being wicked to others and doing evil as an excuse for our religious beliefs. Abraham called the first prophet in the Bible and the focus of the revelation through him was about the promise of salvation from God. Now I also heard that the Quran states that God already forgave Adam and Eve therefore there's no need for any reconciliation back to God, maybe not exactly written that way but some teach that as well. Now if forgiveness was already given, it nullifies the very purpose of the promise given to Abraham about blessing all the nations through his seed. Now I do not put it past the devil to fabricate a very brilliant very detailed lie that removes the one thing that truly brings salvation, God's word and promise. Devil is capable of making people jump off roof tops based on misunderstanding Psalm 91. There as to be an explanation from the revelation that reveal God's plan for salvation of which we can say it is genuinely from God or not. |
TenQ:have you never read that in your bible before? |
If you had read would you not understand, would you parade your ignorance as your arrogance. https://www.nairaland.com/8342531/answering-question-god-omnipresent Even the word of God you quote denies you. I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied. But if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds. “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. “I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ Jeremiah 23: 21 - 25 My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes. Jeremiah 16: 17 For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths. Proverbs 5: 21 “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” Proverbs 15:3 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13 Yet you do not understand, no you refuse to understand, no you had been made to not understand because if understanding had been given to you, you wouldn't argue blindly against what has been written clearly. |
TenQ:hear o Israel Jehovah our God Jehovah is one |
TenQ:so YHVH and Jehovah are two different names? |
TenQ:Did I ask you if you knew what I believe? Since according to you, my comprehension of scripture is not okay, why are you asking me questions concerning scriptures? Did the basis of your reply not begin from your believe in the Trinity? Why then did you claim that 'you didn't talk trinity at all'? If one lies about an obvious truth should there assumptions be taken as true as well? What have you learnt from what you read? Are your questions based upon what you read? In my response did I contradict that God is spiritual? Does that which is invisible translate automatically to that which is Omnipresent? What are you trying to prove by your questions? Why could you not clearly state where the comprehension you claimed was not okay? And as you stated, ask in regard to that and learn, or did you not find fault in what you read? Are you ignoring with your mighty comprehension that answers have not already been given by the link I shared, or did you not bother reading since yesterday when you saw the message? Are you here to reaffirm you are correct by quoting that which is true from scripture to back up a lie that you believe? Is you lie not that God is Spirit therefore He is everywhere whereas scripture says He is above the heavens, while His eyes and spirit are everywhere? Did I not clearly tell you where you are wrong? Did you not read my explanations even in the link I shared about the eyes of the LORD and where the LORD himself is? Have I not given answers already to the question concerning God's omnipresence? Or is it that your comprehension is in absence of you actually reading? Can you answer any of these questions I have asked you honestly without pride or deviation? |
Jas.2.15 - 16 Suppose you see a brother or sister who needs food or clothing, and you say, "Well, good-bye and God bless you; stay warm and eat well"--but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? This here James was speaking about faith, yet love is greater than faith, 1 Corinthians 13:13 And like Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:2 if all our faith can do is move mountains and we have no love (no works of love) then we are nothing. From verse 4, the standard of our love is that we should be patient, kind, humble not envious, boastful and proud, we should not be rude, selfish and irritable, nor vengeful. We should not rejoice in evil and falsehood but rejoice in the truth. It sounds like part of the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. You see faith you see love, you see love you see faith 1John.3.16 - 17 We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters. But if anyone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help--how can God's love be in that person? Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions. So the standard of our love should not just be I love you, but it should be real like Paul wrote in Rom.12.9 -10 Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Because it is love that really builds up the church. (1Cor.8.1) To love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1 Tim1:5) should be our highest goal and desire (1Cor 14.1) So that like Paul wrote in 1Cor.16.14 - everything we do is be done with love. If indeed Christ's love controls us (2Cor.5.14) even our words should be the truth spoken in love (Eph.4.15) for it's only when we truly obey God that we are purified and we love others sincerely like Peter wrote in 1Peter 1:12. Love indeed purifies us, that's God's standard In conclusion, Heb.13.1 -5 Continue to love each other with true Christian love. Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Don't forget about those in prison. Suffer with them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being mistreated, as though you feel their pain in your own bodies. Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery. Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never forsake you." |
Now the world has a way they define love and practice it, of which today is one of such ways they celebration love, Friday the fourteenth of February, Valentine's day. It's a unique day that falls also on a unique day, Friday which is a name gotten from an idol that supposedly symbolizes love. This post isn't about the day nor the name, Valentine but about God's standard for love. John 3:16, God so loved the world that he gave us an opportunity to be saved, he gave us a gift we can either accept or reject it So love is giving, but giving isn't always love nor about love. You know Paul wrote in 1Cor.13.3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever. I would be nothing if I gave all and had no love. One could say, well God is love, 1 John 4:16, so nothing have God and doing all that giving profits nothing, but is that truly the case? It is possible that a person can give so as to brag about it, so as to announce it or to receive a favor back, such "love" is common but not really God's standard of love, the standard that profits everything. Jesus said in Matt.6.1 - 4 "Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. So the first standard of God's love is not for human attention but to meet a need. And you know Jesus taught three types of love, the first is for us to love God with everything we are and have and the second is to love our neighbors and those in need as we love ourselves. Well if you do not count loving yourself as the third one, the third one would then be loving your enemies and it's not to encourage them to continue being wicked but to like God give them an opportunity to change and repent. Before Matthew 6, Jesus said in Matt.5.44 - 47 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. It's obviously easier to love those who love you, but the standard of God is higher because he expects us to love even those who don't love us back as well. Thank God it doesn't say love your enemies as yourself so you know that the standard by which you love God being the highest then the next of you loving your neighbors and lasting your enemies are not all the same, but they all have their rewards especially loving your enemies. Like Luke puts it in Luke.6.32 - 33 "Do you think you deserve credit merely for loving those who love you? Even the sinners do that! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, is that so wonderful? Even sinners do that much! So for us to operate in God's standard of love, we must be prepared to love and be kind to even those we may not even be so deserving of it. The fact you love them doesn't mean you like what they do, doesn't mean you agree with them, it just means you are kind enough to care about them, and be of help to them for good. It may be too much to talk about loving one's enemies from the start, and if we are to talk about loving God, the words of John ring clear in 1John.4.20 - 21 If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? And God himself has commanded that we must love not only him but our Christian brothers and sisters, too. And God loves those who obey him and those who obey God are those who truly love God and walk in the light, 1 John 2. And like verse 15, we can't have the world's standard love and preferences and also have God's love in us, if we love the world and become friends with it, we become enemies to God, James 4:4. Things like love your enemies become meaningless to you, even loving your neighbors would seem like an unnecessary burden |
