Christianity Etc › Re: God Form The Light And Create Darkness, He Make Peace, And Create Evil. Isaiah 4 by gohf: 11:55am On Feb 12, 2025
Truthseeker10:
Are you saying that God is the one that causes innocent and good people to suffer and die?

Did God create the devil to do evil?
It is written in Gen.3.17-19, God said

And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit I told you not to eat, I have placed a curse on the ground. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it. It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains. All your life you will sweat to produce food, until your dying day. Then you will return to the ground from which you came. For you were made from dust, and to the dust you will return."

Peter wrote in 1Pet.2.19 - 23
For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment. Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing right and are patient beneath the blows, God is pleased with you. This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted. When he suffered, he did not threaten to get even. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

And in 1Pet.4.1 - So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you are willing to suffer for Christ, you have decided to stop sinning. Instead, be very glad--because these trials will make you partners with Christ in his suffering, and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory when it is displayed to all the world. Be happy if you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God will come upon you. If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people's affairs. But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his wonderful name! So if you are suffering according to God's will, keep on doing what is right, and trust yourself to the God who made you, for he will never fail you.

In Hebrews 12:7-8 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

For your second question, it is written in Ezek.28.12 - 17

"Son of man, weep for the king of Tyre. Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: You were the perfection of wisdom and beauty. I ordained and anointed you as the mighty angelic guardian. You had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the stones of fire. "You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you. Your great wealth filled you with violence, and you sinned. So I banished you from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire. Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

Also in Isaiah 14:13-16
You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, `Can this be the one who shook the earth and the kingdoms of the world?"

Christianity Etc › Re: Science And Faith Can They Coexist? by gohf: 11:31am On Feb 12, 2025
SadEast419:
Science and faith have often been seen as opposing forces, but many argue they can coexist. Science relies on empirical evidence and testable theories, while faith is based on belief and spirituality.

Some people see them as complementary—science explains the how of the universe, while faith addresses the why. For example, someone can believe in evolution while also believing that a higher power set everything in motion. Others argue that faith can inspire scientific inquiry, as many historical scientists were deeply religious.

On the flip side, some say science and faith are fundamentally incompatible because science demands proof, while faith requires belief without evidence. What do you think? Can they work together, or are they at odds? Can science and faith coexist?
Faith is evidence for things we don't yet see, Hebrews 11:1 an evidence that most scientists would not want to accept.

Faith leads to something man cannot do, that's salvation from death so how are they to test if it's true or not when dealing with death is beyond them.

Faith understands that God created all things, some scientists deny proof of God who created all based on their level of understanding what has been created. Faith looks above, science looks below, they both can't see the same except those few in science field who realize that below cannot exist without an above. Science deals with man while faith deals with God, science pleases men, faith pleases God. Science works for us, Faith is us working for God.

While both are existing, only one outlasts the other, and that's faith.

While Enosh's generation called upon the name of Jehovah, Cain and his sons built and designed, developed a science for themselves, blacksmiths, forgers and the like.

Noah built an ark based on faith

No invention of men survived the flood.

Science comes from our human senses, faith comes by hearing God's word.

Science builds our human civilization but faith leads us to God's nation.

The goal of science is knowledge and exploration but the goal of faith is love. Such knowledge from science puffs up but within love is humility and God gives grace to the humble.

If one has faith and makes use of science, they guide our exploration and invention in the right direction but when one lacks faith science becomes the chain that ties one down to the physical.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God's deep secrets.

It wan not the lifeless thing called Baal that was answering them. Demons attached to it was answering them.

But when the power of God was present, the demons could not manifest or talk.

Let us know the real enemies - the demons and the devil not the man made things called Baal..

Paul said so much about the non relevance of these lifeless materials put together as idols
Here it is sir

1Cor.10.19 - 20 (NLT)
What am I trying to say? Am I saying that the idols to whom the pagans bring sacrifices are real gods and that these sacrifices are of some value? No, not at all. What I am saying is that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don't want any of you to be partners with demons.
Christianity Etc › Re: God Form The Light And Create Darkness, He Make Peace, And Create Evil. Isaiah 4 by gohf: 10:50am On Feb 12, 2025
Digitmktguru:
Please explain this Bible passsage from biblical concept wholistically"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things"(Isaiah 45:7)
Isaiah was sending God's message to a foreign king, Cyrus, whom according to other scriptures in the Bible played a critical role in fulfilling prophecy concerning Israel. God choose him because of Israel, verse 4.

Isa.45.4 "And why have I called you for this work? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one. I called you by name when you did not know me.

Cryus wasn't a Hebrew so he didn't know the God of Israel, but he obviously knew "other" gods and that's why the following verses seem like an introduction to him.

Read the verses 5-7 together

I am the LORD; there is no other God. I have prepared you, even though you do not know me, so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am the LORD, and there is no other. I am the one who creates the light and makes the darkness. I am the one who sends good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things.

Cyrus was Persian, and like the Greeks they believed in many gods of which they took the ones who represented light and the one representing darkness and chaos as there highest ranking gods. Even among scientists they don't believe someone make the vast light and vast darkness.

God's introduction is this, first off, those are not gods there is only one God which is me Jehovah and I formed all those things you are taking as a god, everything that occurs is because of me, be it a storm at sea, draught or rain on land, there are no special gods for those things. I alone do them. It may be hard to believe that just one God does all of that, but that's the reason there is none like Him, the Almighty and that Cryus is the reason you should believe what He is telling you.

Isn't it even weirder that even those who claim God created all things, don't want to accept that God created darkness even when it was clearly stated in Genesis. The worse is, they begin to deny that God formed light as well, claiming light as always been from the beginning.

Whether you believe in Jesus the true light or Satan who is evil, know that both were created by God and both were given there rewards, Jesus eternal life and Satan death. Nether Jesus who DOESN'T claim to be a god but submits to God nor Satan who claims to be a god, are God.

From verse 8

"Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. I, the LORD, have created it.

"Destruction is certain for those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot ever argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, `Stop, you are doing it wrong!' Does the pot exclaim, `How clumsy can you be!'
....

12. I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens. All the millions of stars are at my command.

I will raise up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will guide all his actions. He will restore my city and free my captive people--and not for a reward! I, the LORD Almighty, have spoken!" This is what the LORD says: "The Egyptians, Ethiopians, and Sabeans will be subject to you. They will come to you with all their merchandise, and it will all be yours. They will follow you as prisoners in chains. They will fall to their knees in front of you and say, `God is with you, and he is the only God.'"

But the LORD will save the people of Israel with eternal salvation. They will never again be humiliated and disgraced throughout everlasting ages.

For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. "I am the LORD," he says, "and there is no other.

I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner so no one can understand what I mean. And I did not tell the people of Israel to ask me for something I did not plan to give. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and right. "Gather together and come, you fugitives from surrounding nations. What fools they are who carry around their wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save! Consult together, argue your case, and state your proofs that idol worship pays. Who made these things known long ago? What idol ever told you they would happen? Was it not I, the LORD? For there is no other God but me--a just God and a Savior--no, not one! Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.

If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care-- Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one heart and purpose. Don't be selfish nor have vain ambition, don't try to promote yourself by impressing others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself.

Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing.

The difference between Abraham and Peter

Mon, 10 Feb 2025

‘But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink.’ Matthew 14:30

When Peter stepped out of the boat at the command of Jesus, he was doing something he had never done before; something miraculous—walking on water. As long as he remained in faith, he was successful, but when fear gripped his heart, he began to sink. The Bible says, ‘But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”’ (Matthew 14:30-31 NLT). Peter’s mistake was that he became preoccupied with the storm. When he focused on the circumstances around him rather than on the Saviour close to him, he lost his faith and began to doubt.

Abraham faced a different but equally difficult set of circumstances: fathering a son when he was almost one hundred years old. But the Bible says, ‘Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God’ (Romans 4:20 NLT). Abraham was aware of his situation, but unlike Peter, he was not preoccupied with it. It was his determined and focused faith that propelled him forward to success. And you can learn from Peter’s mistake and Abraham’s example. You can be aware of your circumstances, but not preoccupied with them. You can purposely keep your mind on Jesus, trusting in faith that He will provide the miracle you need. So, the word for today is—keep your eyes on Jesus, stay focused on what He has promised you in His Word, keep walking by faith, and you will get to where you need to be.
lol you are comparing the faith of a man at almost the end of his faith journey with a man barely few years in. Abraham had the experience and was tested, Peter was learning and was taught.

1Cor.13.4 - 8

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear.

From whom the word comes God.

This words you are reading did they come from themselves? No, I wrote them, I created them

You created, and you can tell us, what does lulu even mean?

Or are you lulu, is lulu you, your name or who you are?

You embarrassed to say what you're afraid of, hellfire.

Fear and love don't mix.

I choose love. Thank you.
lol even if I am afraid of hellfire would that keep me from "hellfire"

I will repeat what you are avoiding, maybe you are also afraid but pretending, fear the LORD GOD for He is love and will judge the wicked, so do good. Fear isn't to avoid God but to be careful to do what He says.

If you truly choose love then you do what God says, you give, you care. If you are not afraid of the consequences for wickedness of your own actions can you truly say you care or you love, even if it's not some punishment, but the consequences of, if I don't treat this person they will suffer and die, if I don't give this meal, they will be hungry, if I steal this money some will be in pain.

Love that has no such fear isn't love for selfish lust mixed with pride and arrogance where you truly do not care about others but about yourself.

If we believe God created all things, then it includes his word and the angels. It even includes the throne he seats on, or did someone create it for him? Ofcourse not.

He created both the message and the messengers, the message came from him just as the messengers come from him.

God is God, He doesn't exist because of His word, His word exists because of Him, He is the source of all.

I like that the Hebrew word for create means cut out, if Jesus was cut out from God it means he was created.
