Rohr spoke about his preference for one touch- two touch - go football after the Zambian match.
the one touch-two touch is the tactical way we can compete with the best of teams at the world cup, if you watch and listen to the english commentators of the argentina game, you will hear the commentators commending the eagles for their one touch play that led to the second and third goals scored by the eagles.

If Rohr uses the super sub tactic by making VicMo come from the bench, I imagine the way the second half would be sweet. But some will still clamor he should be a starter.
Honestly a iheancho/iwobi combination is a delight to watch any day, just shows how deep our squad is even though at times we feel or look short of talents going forward. if vicmo will not reduce his selfish play, he can be our super sub but you know Nigerians go shout. Iheanacho may be the one to be sacrificed for vicmo and be the super sub instead. There is also an Ighalo and simon lurking around too, mhen it's interesting

I used to respect Mr Mugabe for his intelligence and sound education but I didn't know he has become very foolish lately. How can you sacked your powerful Vice President, one of the leaders of the revolution and someone who has over 70% of senior military officers loyalty to and you expect to continue in power ?

I think Mr Mugabe is no longer in his right senses

Saying a player from the last World Cup must be in the coming one is a room for bias and sentiments. We must go with the best in every role.

Finito.
experience is key, we can't discard that. No matter how good a player is, as any tournament progresses, experience is highly needed, without experienced players like moses, mikel and onazi, we won't have qualified for the world cup

My dear friend stop labelling guys here for expressing their views.

I see you calling Mujtahida'dear Aina'now me my love for Aina,so you hate him or what.

Pls talk football and let us have healthy discussion than name calling and i still repeat it Balogun was at fault for the Argentine second goal, just watched it again.

Hope you read my comment on Aina performance so what do you expect me to say or do you think Echiejele w perform better than Aina,if you think so no issue it's your opinion which I respect but i w rather take Aina to WC than Echiejele, my opinion cos am not Rohr.

OK you want me to say Echiejele is better, no my man Echiejele is not,Echiejele last good performance was 2013,till today he has been struggling to justify his inclusion.
stop misunderstanding me pls, am only pointing to the two matches aina has had more playing time and he has been poor so far which most folks have admitted to so what's my offence? not making a case for elderson but aina has not been better so far, ok? stop taking issues too far

I think rohr will have to adress the vicmo selfish play though lots of folks still argue whether vicmo is selfish or not. But if you hear the English commentary of the highlights, you will hear the commentators commending the one touch play of the Eagles leading to the goals. Just hope vicmo saw the game

Angel Di Maria Point Out The Turning Point In Nigeria’s 4-2 Win Over Argentina
Argentina forward Angel Di Maria has revealed the turning point for Nigeria in their 4-2 win over Argentina in today’s friendly game played in Krasnordar.
Nigeria recovered from two goals down to win 4-2 thanks to goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Brian Idowu but Di Maria said the goal by Iheanacho was the turning point of the game for the Nigerians.
” What a match. We started well, successfully held them in the early stages of the game, but the goal scored by Nigeria before the half time break was the turning point”, Di Maria said after the game.
” We were physically outplayed by a very strong opponent, and we calmed down a bit, and we paid for it. It’s good that this is not the World Cup yet. We will slowly sort things out”.

It's obvious the Argentines were overwhelmed, I just hope our guys will spring up performances like this in the world cup proper, I remember we once beat France on their home soil in an international friendly, we need to start replicating performances like this in the main event, good to know that all the allowances and bonus issues have been sorted out by the nff, hope they won't back out on the agreement cos that's usually one of our main distractions at major tournaments

I doubt we need to see more from him. On your debut against the dreaded Argentina attack and you still find space to score? That is exceptionally enough to be on the plane to Russia?
and to top it, the guy sabi russian language, sometimes an off the pitch asset could be handy in making critical decisions

As it stands, Aina will go to the world cup, because at least he has shown some potentials at the left, and he can play at the right. Echiejile is a dedicated LB, but still poor. He does not offer us options.
forget potential, aina can't be our lwb, rohr is conservative and I doubt he will risk aina on that left side again except there are injuries to other players.

Only Akpeyi is out. Every other person has a robust chance of going to the WC. I doubted Musa but he was sharp yesterday. The thing is everyone's going to fight a good fight to go to Russia.

Bros, I've read you here. You are not given to hasty conclusions. Don't do so now. Before yesterday, many said ooooh Shehu has locked down the RB. But look how Ebuehi has made a very strong statement with his formidable performance. He took many by surprise because some doubted his ability due to the fact that Rohr kept him on the bench for three straight games even the dead rubber against Algeria. Some saw that as a sign of Rohr's doubting the young man. But Ebuehi proved his doubters wrong- He was calm and his poise on the ball is lovely. Some even said he's edged out Shehu. But not yet for me. Aina might be tested there now and you be like wow, what a performance. You can never tell.

Aina is not my 'dear Aina'. All of them are dear to me. I am eager for everyone of them to perform well. I said that Shehu should be moved to the midfield IF Aina gives a strong showing at RB. It's my way of accommodating him cos his versatility to play as RB and DMF would be needed.
Musa's experience can never be discounted, it was a psychological thing rohr did bringing in a musa who scored two goals against the same Argentina side back in 2014, his presence brought some decency and discipline, reason the game ended 4-2 as there was still chances for argentina to be back in the game before musa came on. I still insist that some players in the last world cup must be in this team to the world cup and musa is one of them. I laugh when I see calls for musa to be shown the way out.

agreed, thanks all I want is performance of every player, if they play well, we praise, if they fall hand we go shout. when mikel was fumbling, we gave him the sticks, when he started doing well, we praise him, that should be the standard, no excuse should be made for any player not doing well and I stand by that.

Akpeyi had no reason to be poor moreover he's been tested severally. Shehu too was poor, Balogun too. Until Aina is played as a RB, I won't write him off. In fact apart from Akpeyi I am not going to write off any player. Not at all. Look at Ogu, they say he's slow, they say Iheanacho doesn't haven't good pace. but I saw yesterday that he's not.

Bryan Idowu is a natural LB and Ebuehi too and you saw how they flourished. Rohr would learn a lesson yesterday. Play the players in their natural positions. Versatility is good but those playing in their natural positions should be more in number. It would provide balance for the team.
with what you have said here, you and I know that aina chances of making the final team to russia is minimal except some other players are injured. The RB is surely btw shehu and ebuehi though I have seen you making a case for shehu to be pushed up into the midfield for your dear aina to have a chance but you are not rohr, we all thought aina had finally displaced elderson until yesterday's game though I already saw the signs against Algeria. Pray harder for aina to make the cut cos for now it's not looking too good for him

Nooo ooo. The gauge you are using to judge Aina here is not the same as when he was praised. Then it was Echiejile's LB play that was compared to Aina's LB play. But yesterday factor in the fact that he played as a wingback not LB. he's not a natural LB. Fine he could still play as an LB but it's obvious he cannot play as a LWB. You are comparing him as a LWB to Echiejile LB play. False equivalents.

How did our excellent RB Shehu fare a RWB?
Na grammar you dey talk, aina was poor, am not convinced! moreover it's not fair we are all giving akpeyi the sticks and making excuses for aina.

We all know how we always come heavily on the good joe on this thread when he makes excuses for iheanacho. i will never be part of you guys making excuses for aina but coming heavily on akpeyi, not fair bruv

Pls go and watch the match again and be critical in your view and you w understand who to blame for the second goal

I remember the first goal was caused by Akpeyi and the second goal look confusing on who to blame but a good expert w blame Balogun, his pace failed him and in official rating Balogun was blamed for second goal

Aina so far in Eagles is not worst as you want us to believe cos you keep on hammering him and funny enough you put him in the same league on performance with Akpeyi.

Haba against Zambia good comeo appearance, against Algeria a little bit average, against Argentina not too good for him just like other players in the 1st half, hope you have read Mikel"s statement.

If I want to base it on first half performance, players like Iwobi,Ogu,Awaziem should not have started second half, pls go and watch the match again and be objective.

Truly Aina performance was not satisfactory but comparing the poor boy with Akpeyi performance get as ebi,not that worst.
Pls Sir, don't let your love for aina make you blame someone else for his own personal error, the fact that he was subbed says it all. He was poor against both algeria and argentina period where he had more game time than the Zambian match Let's say it the way it is!

I dont think you are being fair.

Playing Ola Aina on the left when he is a natural rightback is injustice. Just because he was asked to cover the left back and he didnt perform well doesnt make him over rated. You have to put things into perspective. I have watched the dude severally and I can tell you he is a baller! For yesterday's game against a top side as Argentina, playin a makeshift left back was bound to haunt us. The fault for me lies with the coaching crew who left a natural left back on the bench.

If you are naturally right handed but have a fair use of your left hand in a game of tennis. How productive will you be if you are asked to use ur left all thru a game..? Exactly my point!

In yesterdays game, he didnt have to play at all. And if he did, he should have been tried on the right as a sub for Shehu. Moral of the whole story? Play the right people in the right positions.
you guys should stop being sentimental, this thread was awashed with how aina is a better player than elderson, now he has failed to live up to the billing, you are now saying he is better at the right back, abeg make we talk true, the guy fall hand

Uzoho just need two more friendly to prove his class and confidence, with confidence at towering 6ft with good aerial ball control, what do we need again, they just need to psyche the guy up nothing more.

Enyeama broke into eagles with just 45 mins appearance against home based Kenya team so why not Uzoho who had 45 mins against Argentina
So who is the third keeper?

I w never rate the present Echiejele over Aina.

Yea he has Ebuhei and Abdullahi to contend with but don't be surprised if you find out he is better than the duo cos Ebuhei that a lot don't reckon with even the coaches has split us now, some for Abdullahi some for Ebuhei just cos of today's match.

Am just to happy for this team the competition for positions is building up,i know Shehu w be watching his back and Echiejele w now know that Idowu and Aina are there for him to compete with not like before strolling to camp as only LB
Aina can be tried for another position but not left back pls, he was not convincing against Algeria either so elderson is still ahead of him, let's admit that pls. If he can contend for the right back which I doubt, no problem but for left back abeg just like we don't want akpeyi near the goal post, I don't want aina near the left back too. Sometimes we over hype these players and they fall hand. We had no business goin down 2-nil but for aina 's sloppiness

To be candid with Brian Idowu's performance today, Aina is left floating. Do we take him to right back or leave him to fight with Echiejile and Idowu at LB?

Brian Idowu has something going for him and it played out today: He is based in Russia. He will definitely be very comfortably with the weather and also many of the pitches. He right now stands a better chance of being in Russia than Aina.
he also has ebuehi and shehu to contend with for the right back, double wahala! He needs to visit his Pastor asap else, russia dream is over. For me elderson is still ahead of aina
