Honestly PMB should have changed our currency format when he came in as President, those looters would have been crying over their losses by now. I thought it would have been a very harsh move then but seriously that would have been a smart move in the anti corruption fight.

Nigeria is more corrupt than anyone can think or imagine

CAN of Hypocrites!

The no-nonsense Buhari travelled and an erudite Osinbajo took over, and all of a sudden, CAN realised 'we need to support our country'. Anthem of 'Islamization' no longer rent the air. 'Nigeria is the worst place to practise Christianity' song is no longer popular. Whatsapp messages from different acclaimed Pastors on how 'Buhari is killing Christians' have disappeared, and different 'revelations from above' have vanished. More than 20 people lost their lives early last week in Kaduna, yet no one hear anything from CAN or Apostle Sulaiman.

This shows that Buhari as a person is not their problem, but his religion. Because this same CAN were deaf and dumb when Boko Haram was killing in the North under a 'Christian' President. What a CAN of hypocrites! What a CAN of haters!! CAN of politics!!! CAN of Dollars!!!! I still insist, CAN does not represent me, I'm a Christian, but not part of CAN.
Painful truth, I even heard the can president asking Christians not to abandon buhari but to pray for him. Bunch of hypocrites.

I stopped taking CAN serious long time ago especially with those silly and dump whatsapp messages which were always full of lies and deception.

I still don't agree , we have the edge , if we announce a closure of their facilities , even their president will come down to Naija to apologise. We definitely have the edge
a closure of their activities will greatly affect Nigerians, that's the truth and we Nigerians will start complaining when it happens. When mtn was fined, I was one of those who applauded the move but was shocked with the large number of Nigerians raining insults on the Govt then. Its surprising now that those abusing the Govt then for sanctioning mtn now wants Govt to come hard on them.

Its high time we decide what we truly want for our dear country. If we truly want to shakara to these african countries, then let's build our economy starting from our infrastructure then we will easily put them where the belong but for now even in terms of electric power talk less of technology we are still lagging behind. We just have to get serious first.

That is a bloody lie , if South Africans companies are chased out of Naija investors willing to invest in the said services are on ground to take off , don't you know that they block others from trying to invest in Naija , take the case of HITV and DSTV , DSTV was instrumental to their demise.Jobs will not be lost as companies willing to take up this void will need to fill up these spaces with new staff , some may even integrate workers from MTN and co since they've already being trained in that field. Even if other existing companies take up their responsibilities they will need more hands on deck , South African companies will , on the other hand , be losing millions in revenue since they've turned us to their cash cows , they know this , I'm just surprised you don't , don't be deceived by hearsay.
oga let's say the truth na HITV mess up o. Nigerian companies have a problem with longevity which is where the south african companies have the edge. The heavy Corruption in Nigeria does not make our indigenous companies last likewise our regulatory agencies which milk them to death. If we can fix this then we can give these SA companies a run for their money but for now they have the edge

The truth we just cant seem to accept is that at the moment, our hands are tied. Any retaliatory move we make would cost us more than it would them.
Exactly, this is why we need to rebuild our economy very fast. you've said it all, we will loose more economically than them which makes it very sad.

South Africans have become wild and broken. This is what happens to any ethnic group who bears the brunt of European racism for a long time. They no longer have African sensibilities.
All I see here is a bunch of frustrated people whose govt has failed them after promising that a black majority govt would bring utopia
The result: blame every immigrant doing better than you.
Ok let us say Nigerians are criminal pimps and drug dealers. What about the Somalis and the Zimbaweans who have been killed? What crimes have they commited. South Africans need to face reality and hold their govt accountable; going after the Nigerian boogeyman wont heal their festering wounds.

I have said this before and will repeat it again, it will take the generation of south Africans born after apartheid for this to stop. Apartheid has destroyed the psyche of the average african and they can never recover. The carry over anger from the apartheid regime still exist even from the their President Zuma to the common man in that country. This is why all their public figures will continue to speak in favour of the xenophobia attacks. There is nothing anybody can do about it be it AU, UN or whatever.

Until the new generation that is apartheid free begins to take over their society, we may never see a reduction in these stupid attacks even my wife still argues with me that even the new generation will still be affected by the carry over apartheid anger despite not witnessing it physically in their time.

Well frm my lil info... The transition frm govt to disco was dur to govt inabilty to continually subside the backlog of funds needed to sustain power cos it was a social amenity to the common man.... Now its business and the common man cant afford.. I believe u will agree business is abt profit.... So looking at those factors lies why even power is hoarded sometimes cos the average nigerians have proven they cant pay.... Alot of nigerian live below 1 dollar per day considering the xchange rate as an advantage
sorry sir, so many african countries don't have power issues like Nigeria [I have witnessed it] are you now saying Nigerians are poorer than those african countries? Pls let's stop all these arguments that are baseless. We are just un-serious and too corrupt to help ourselves out of our power problems, is it because Nigerians cannot afford power that's why they must be forced to pay even when services are not delivered? haba

very brilliant interview, I must say. One thing I picked is when he said that whenever there is a consensus among Nigerians on any particular matter, they always overrule Government's opposing view on that matter. e.g. the fuel price hike protest in ojota, gov oshiomole's go and die stance on that poor widow, gov ajimobi's harsh words on lautech students and so on. He said until Nigerians have a consensus view on the war against corruption and bad governance before we can see true change. Very brilliant from omojuwa, the guy sabi im book well.

I agree with an analyst on radio who said pdp should not make their internal problems a national issue. The same GEJ that ignored a christian gathering of christian ex presidents and vice presidents organised by osinbajo now wants attention from the same osinbajo over a dead pdp stakeholders meeting. awon were ni pdp o!

I totally agree ee with you, and im not siding the discos cos even frm thier own end thers also no customer satisfaction..... As a whole the power sector is failing., vit come to think of it, can an average nigerian actually pay for 24hr power supply? You can help me with that answer
So because you think an average Nigerian can't pay for 24 hr supply, we must remain in this power mess. Pls let's stop this, have Nigerians been given 24 hr power supply for us to know whether they can pay or not?

Let's allow serious minded foreign folks to come into the power sector and see whether Nigerians will pay or not when service is delivered. This is the way we have been thinking in Nigeria for ages until foreigners will come in and start making head way in impossible areas and sectors in our economy. We are just an unserious nation.

Nobody is saying something should happen to PMB. However if, due to ill health or whatever circumstances he is unable to continue, Prof Yemi Osunbade will certainly be made the substantive president until 2019.

Frankly, due to the division of the country presently if u think the Professor, if peradventure he's made the substantive president can contest and win in 2019 that means your are the greatest political novice of the 21st century.

Atiku for President
Pls correct yourself its osinbajo and not osunbade. As a matter of fact osinbajo cannot contest for President cos he is not ambitious and also due to the fact that obj another sw has been President for 8 yes earlier.

Am sorry it will be very difficult for another Fulani or northerner to be President in 2019. The Fulani herdsmen issue has not been handled properly and so selling another Fulani to most southerners will be another bitter pill, reason I say things are changing very fast.

Your atiku is wasting his time. as Nigerians cannot be fooled again. He is over 70 just like PMB. We can't afford to keep on spending our scarce forex on regular medical trips. We've got more serious economic issues than that pls.

Anybody who subscribes to this MTN cheat is a very big fool huh huh How can we be buying "solar radiation" ? That is very absurd!
The MTN system has a solar panel, a battery, and inverter; this is the common system you know. Then you pay about #30,000 to obtain the system, then to obtain power from the sockets of the system you will have to load a credit through the SIM card on the system, failure to load credit within a specified number of days will lead MTN to confiscate the equipment you paid to obtain.
Instead of buying this MTN system, I will rather have somebody build a small Solar Power System for me.
MTN is a THIEF!
If MTN na thief, wetin we go call the discos or gencos.

The mtn solar system is reliable and affordable. I use it as alternative to petrol generator. The system cost about 270k but after the commitment fee of 15k you have the option to spread the balance over up to 1500 days(i.e @4.5k monthly). I don't regard this as cheating for a system that consists of a 80-watt solar panel, inverter, 10 metre cable, two long-lasting bulbs, universal phone charger. I was sceptical initially but after acquiring one I regret not buying it earlier during promo when it was sold with a solar-power only standing fan as bonus. I use it basically to charge phone, power a 24-inch tv as well as gotv/startimes decoders and for lighting (I will soon add their standing fan). For 24/7 all these gadgets are powered for just 4.5k a month. To me this is not cheating and is preferable to generator that you spend far more on. The system is secure as it can only be recharged using the mtn number linked to it - so it is useless stealing it (even the solar panel won't work if transferred to another system).
Abeg don't mind the pessimists who don't have a better alternative to address power issues. We Nigerians are so quick in running down those who have seen an enormous business opportunity.

Those calling MTN names have not told us a better and quick alternative to solve our power issue. They want us to wait for the govt. forever to give us power they cannot give
