duwdu: On one hand, Chief Edwin Clark said ex-President Goodluck Jonathan lacked the will to fight corruption, that Jonathan was too much of a "gentleman." On the other hand, Chief Clark is saying people Jonathan surrounded himself with, "prevented," or "made it impossible for" Jonathan from/to fighting/fight corruption over a period of six whole years, just at the presidency level alone O. What's the difference between the "different" sets of views being canvased by Chief Clark?
The bottom line of the aggregate of Chief Clark's statements on Jonathan is that Jonathan didn't have the liver to effectively or properly govern - at any level, and that Jonathan was always complicit with or acquiescing to everything that went wrong with his leadership.
Chief Edwin Clark is actually just further rubbishing the ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan.
Good luck to the old man and his political "son," and to the defender of the "son," Reuben Abati.
P34c3 ..... ...
I will be waiting to see another article from Abati saying 'Father welcomes back the Son' lol
What a damage control by grand pa Clark, anyway what do you expect from these ijaw guys, we should all be attentive cos may be by next week or month, papa clark may be back again to tell us how clueless GEJ was.
na wa for ijaw people sha, today GEJ is god, tommorrow he is weak, haba wetin.
we are not helping ourselves and our country's image, imagine as a graduate of LASU if you want to further your studies abroad or getting a job and a google search is done to have a background information about LASU and this pop up, juju scare? This will not improve the perception people out there will have about us e.g. Donald trump
This is what I want to be hearing from our pastors, supporting the Government in the fight against corruption by teaching church members to shun evil and corrupt acts. Thanks Pastor Kumuyi, I hope all other MOGs will follow suit.
Pope22: Why won't pdp senators be allowed to ask amaechi questions durin his screening, are they not part of nigeria senators or what? What kind of intimidation is apc imposing on pdp sef? I just hate amaechi.
Nobody stopped the pdp senators nah, do you not hear akpabio that they don't have any questions for amaechi.
Its time afenifere moved on after GEJ loss at the polls on march 28, the way they've been playing politics after the kidnap of falae just to get back at buhari cos he is a Fulani is becoming childlish. They should allow the States governments in the sw handle the Fulani cattlemen issue which most if them are already doing.
I also advise PMB to get a job for odumakin as he is desperately looking for one, he seems to be lost out there in the cold especially when he looks back to think he was PMB spokesman in 2011. He may have derailed cos of GEJ dollars but if the likes of ita enang who was still a PDP member few months ago could get appointed by PMB then odumakin deserves another chance. I rest my case.
Why is fayose not complaining about the elections won by PDP that has been upheld by election tribunals? So all the tribunals must be won by PDP for fayose to believe that APC is not interfering abi? Nonsense
I remember when soni irabor interviewed sowore back in the mid or late nineties on soni irabor live on his torture experience in the hands of cultists. Never knew he will still end this brave.
Appareil: I saw the news on Nairaland and you keep directing me to AU for what? Don't I have a right to comment and express myself? I suspect you!!!!
you can't get the answer you are looking for here on nairaland because of those against and those for and even from your earlier posts you have already passed judgement and answered yourself so what else? you are almost judging me by calling me a suspect, for what? abeg park well.
Appareil: @Goke7, Sai Baba Intends to fight corruption BUT he is yet to pass the test and that's why I asked the question. I love and admire the heart of GEJ but I will be quiet when certain issues are raised because if we are not objective, we ,not Ghana nor Cameroon will eat the fruit of our hypocrisy. I respect Sai Baba but he must prove himself, else he too will be minus!!!!!
I still repeat, redirect your question to AU cos they gave him the appointment which is the subject matter here Please. AU should be able to tell you if he passed the test or not.
anonimi: Why would he follow his boss to go BEYOND what the constitution required and that he did NOT promise when no one followed his good example of 2007? Do you think he is a dullard like your fake idol List other elected public servants who publicly declared their assets in 2007 otherwise you are a bloody HYPOCRITE!
GEJ was forced to declare his assets in 2007 by his boss not that he wanted to anyway, of course you don't expect a thief to promise you to return whatever he stole from you so forget it. PMB made a promise, kept it and followed the constitution and that's why he is being recognized internationally just like GEJ is being recognized internationally for accepting defeat so what's your headache.
Anini or whatever your name is called, go and form your own international body to estimate who is corrupt or not. Greet your hero GEJ for me and tell him, he's been looking more handsome since we all decided to release out of the cage he said you guys put him into.
PassingShot: It's only a foolish people who do the same thing repeatedly and expect different outcome.
The lies that didn't make you guys win the last election cannot make you unseat the president.
Try harder in 2023.
don't mind them jare the elections in 2015 is not yet over as far as they are concerned, that is why they are all over the place on the internet shouting they want to break away from Nigeria, sore losers indeed.
anonimi: Maybe you get comprehension challenges ni. Otherwise you would have been aware that he declared his assets publicly in 2007 and did so in 2011 according to the constitutional requirement.
He wasn't the President in 2007 but when we asked him in 2011 as President to follow the footsteps of his former Boss, he told us to gerarahia and you are here talking about pertinent questions, sorry AU never bothered to find out if GEJ was corrupt cos his corruption was a stench all over Africa
anonimi: Bros, you too dey ask questions. How I wish more of our fellow citizens will ask pertinent questions like these of our leaders. Obviously you are NOT one of the zombies who are PMB's children. Congrats.
ODUBEZE: As usual APC don go bribe this organization, them no want make e be say na only GEJ dey shine! which fight corruption? how many has he fought in Nigeria since his resumption? How many has being indicted? The loot recovered, how much is it? where is it channel to? As I speak, his administration stinks or lacks transparency! PMB children oya your food don land!
see your life, it would have even be better if you have claimed Buhari's appointment by AU as one of GEJ's achievement
Eluwilussit: Please read the post one more time. Almost all the ex leaders selected inec chairmen from other regions. When northerners are there, they usually select Southerners. Jona selected a northerner. PMB should have selected a southerner. Fair play.
You have more southerners as chairmen simply because the northerners were c-in-c then. It is a very simple logic. That notwithstanding, I think we have to trust PMB. We gave him our mandate because we trust him. Let's keep the trust up.
so who selected maurice iwu, are you cross checking your facts well?
chukwudi44: Only in your dreams dear!!! Saraki still has control of over 80 senators,The case against him is making no headway how on earth does that appear weak to you?
if the case is making no headway, amaechi would have been cleared, saraki is actually fighting for himself and not for pdp or apc either. Forget the 80 senators as majority are pdp members who are just there as spoilers and for your information, have you heard that the pdp is trying to review their alliance with saraki, saraki can't go against apc and pdp same time, either way, he is finished.
Amaechi is cleared, he is finished as pdp will withdraw their support.
Kellzcold: I've said before that Saraki taking the senate president by vote of the whole senate was a win for democracy and a win for the independence of the national assembly. If we don't separate the national assembly from the executive power and political godfathers, they will never be able to scrutinize the government when they are not doing their jobs. People are just blindly against Saraki for an offense he committed before becoming governor 13yrs ago and don't know what is really going on behind the scenes. Smh
forget the independent assembly trash, who is deceived here, saraki has a plan, he was put there by a cabal who lost out at the executive and the judiciary, their only hope is the legislature, reason they put saraki there to go against the executive if things don't go their own way and is in favour of national interest which they detest. This is why the executive feel saraki has to go. They are not on the same page in terms of Natonal development. The way saraki emerged lays credence to this, its not just an APC thing. PDP are just there to act as spoilers, they too don't love saraki that much.
no be only shock, na stroke. Mr Pep Guardiola just do the needful by qualifying for CHAN and AFCON, na that one go pass electric shock if you no qualify
The Senate is on trial because PDP owns the senate and it is in their character to romance corruption at all times, until the APC takes full control of the house by unseating saraki, then our senate will become more responsible and what happened yesterday will not happen again.
But for now PDP is the majority since there are senators who are PDP in soul but APC in paper.
I hope with these few points of mine, I have been able to convince and not confuse the OP why the senate is o trial
OKDnigeria: This just confirms what we've been saying. Saraki's trial is politically motivated. Just because he went against d party's wish to bcom Senate President. They are willing to let him off d hook if he can just do d party's wish!
APC is not fighting corruption, they only persecute their political opponents!
so the wike panel indicting amaechi is not politically motivated abi? you guys are so funny
fleshbone: The truth is that Saraki never thought the APC could go this far in order to take him down!
But what I don't get is why will one think so after the length he went in order to be senate president.
Now he is in a tight corner and even the people he thought were behind him are now saying they can't give what they don't have!
Instead of playing safe Like Dogara by honouring the Party's wish, he decided to feel on top of the world
Wow! So its really this hard to give up the sit of power!
True, saraki brought all these upon himself, even his darling pdp senators can't save him now, the next time he will be in court not even dino may escort him by then. na gbese sarki get now
