The Kingdom Has Come! · Sunday, September 29th

Pastor Chris

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God (Mark 1:14).

Jesus came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He said the time is fulfilled; the Kingdom of God is here (Mark 1:15). What is the Kingdom of God?

The Kingdom of God is not a place; it’s the reign of God, where He becomes Lord; where He becomes the Boss, and rules; where He’s in charge, and expresses Himself—His glory and His goodness. That’s why Jesus warned that when you’re told "the Kingdom of God is over there, or it’s over here," you shouldn’t believe it; because the Kingdom doesn’t come by observation; it’s within you (Luke 17:20-21). God’s plan is to set up His Kingdom in the hearts of men; it’s a spiritual kingdom.

Recall when Jesus was brought before Pilate, in John 18:36-37; Pilate asked Him some questions to which He responded, "…My Kingdom is not of this world…" (John 18:36). God’s Kingdom is not a physical structure; accordingly Jesus said, "It has come"—(i.e.) to be set up in the hearts of men. Thus, the Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus preached is, "Hello everybody, God’s Kingdom can be set up now in your hearts; it has arrived! The time has come for God to set up His headquarters in your heart." This wasn’t possible in the days of Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Elisha, David, Solomon and the patriarchs of old. However, when Jesus came, He brought the Kingdom in Him.

Being born again, the Kingdom is now in your heart: the peace, the beauty, the glory, grace, and the life of God have been set up in your heart! God is at home in you now. What a life He’s brought to us, and brought us into! He wants us to tell the whole world this glorious news; He wants it published in every village, town, city, and nation—that anyone who believes can now have the Kingdom of God set up in his heart! What a Gospel!

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the Kingdom of God has been set up in my heart, thus, bringing into me, the life of glory. I declare that my life is for your glory, and I show forth your virtues, excellence, perfections, and beauty, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Christ Is Our "Riddance" · Saturday, September 28th ·

Pastor Chris

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

The word "redemption" in our opening verse means "riddance." Riddance is translated from the Greek word "apolutrosis," which refers to being brought out of trouble. Therefore, Christ being our redemption, actually means He’s our deliverance; just like He said in Psalms 50:15, "…call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."

It doesn’t matter the trouble you’ve gotten into, Christ is your riddance; He’ll rid you of your troubles. Proverbs 11:8 says, "The righteous is delivered out of trouble...." Christ is your ransom. O, how wonderful this is! Read this comforting and assuring words from the Lord Himself in Isaiah 43:2-5: "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:… Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not: for I am with thee…."

The Lord is obligated to save you. He’ll help you out of any quagmire, not because you prayed hard enough or were good enough, but because you have a ransom in Christ Jesus. He makes up for your errors. Every mistake, every sin, has been laid to His charge.

Sometimes, people look back at their lives and say, "Well, it’s because I made a blunder that this calamity happened to me"; no! You don’t have to wallow in regret any more about your sin, mistakes and errors; understand that Christ has been made your riddance. You don’t have to carry the weight of self-condemnation and guilt. You’ve paid in Christ for all your sins, mistakes, and errors.

Jesus didn’t just take care of your sins at Calvary, He also took care of every single mistake you’d make, including the ones on the job. So when you make a mistake, or get into trouble, be bold to call on Him; He’s not intimidated by your troubles. No wonder the Psalmist said, "But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble" (Psalm 59:16).

Confession

It doesn’t matter what trouble I get into: one thing is certain, I’m coming out of it. It doesn’t matter what proclamation is made against me, they’re to no effect, because Christ is my riddance. He rids me of trouble and plucks my feet out of the miry clay.

Candour: [s] Still same story bro. you can see the various types of offerings even from your dictionary. I repeat the offerings of Abraham are not in the same league like what you and i put into the offering bags on sunday. ThE widow Jesus talked about gave money for temple upkeep, she didnt delude herself thinking what she threw in was in the same class like what Abraham and the Isrealis offered on the altars.

Your 'offerings' on sundays are the same like what the widow and others threw into the temple treasury and are very different from offerings brought to the altars

Quit beating around d bush...my question below is as above

"If tithes have been done away with, what about
offering?"
If you can't answer, I'd understand

Aside Isaac show where God instructed Abraham to give offerings but I can show you a carton of scriptures where God instructed Moses. Now if Moses' law is no longer in effect and since you say tithing is of the law, then why still give offerings?

He Gives More Grace To The Humble · Friday, September 27th ·

Pastor Anita

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble (James 4:6).

For you to consistently experience divine favours in your life, you must be humble. Humility is a key to greatness, success and promotion. God gives more grace to the humble but sets Himself against the proud and haughty (James 4:6 TLB); the more they try to rise or forge ahead in life, the more their pride inevitably sets them against God’s favour.

This is one reason some people, in spite of their great abilities, can’t seem to fathom why they aren’t making much progress in their lives. They’ve watched others who didn’t seem to have as much talents as themselves make progress and get promoted, hence they’ve even become bitter against everybody else. What they don’t realize is that their stagnation or lack of progress isn’t the doing of other men, but the result of their pride.

Some people mistake humility for weakness, but being humble doesn’t mean you’re weak; rather, it’s a strength of character. The Lord Jesus was the epitome of humility; but He wasn’t weak; at the same time, He wasn’t arrogant, rude, or conceited. The Bible says He made himself of no reputation, and humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:7-8 ). Even though He was so humble, He never allowed anyone talk Him down! He knew His identity and spoke openly about His relationship and authority with the Father. He dominated the circumstances of life. When He was brought before Pilate to be tried, He was in charge (John 19:11); yet He was very humble.God’s promotion for the humble is certain. Therefore, keep walking in humility, and you’ll find yourself being elevated several steps at once. Remember, a man’s pride shall bring him low, but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit (Proverbs 29:23).

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for granting me more and more grace to excel in all my endeavours, as I walk in humility and meekness of spirit, demonstrating at all times the character and nature of Christ in me, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Christianity EtcRe: Give Money To Ur Church/pastor But Don't Call it TITHE! by Gombs(m): 5:07pm On Sep 26, 2013
Alwaystrue: I will really like people to go and read the whole chapters in Malachi which shows the where God spoke to the whole of Israel before the New testament scriptures.

He spoke about His messenger that would be coming to prepare the way. He spoke again about marriage about marriage and hating divorce, he spoke once again about bringing judgement on those who oppress the widows, orphans and workers (In other words, those that refuse to care for them)- there was even an OT judgement for those who don't give to the poor so it is not even about NT only.

He was against the levites for the things they did wrong and departed from Him. He spoke about people who vow one thing and do another. He talked about tithe and offering together. And was angry for the people that did not bring offerings. I want to correct the erroneous believe that that scripture was talking to the Levites because He spoke about the blessing 'NOT ALLOWING THE DEVOURER TO DESTROY THE FRUIT OF THEIR GROUNDS' AND 'THEIR VINES NOT CASTING THEIR FRUIT BEFORE ITS TIME IN THE FIELD' of which we know THE LEVITES DID NOT FARM. So the scripture was for the whole of Israel.

Then in Chapter 4, He told the Israelites not to forget His laws, statutes & judgements which He gave on Horeb in Exodus chapter 20 to chapter 24.

Now this is where it gets interesting:
God gave His commandments with His own voice in Exodus 20:1-17 and after that the people refused to hear His voice and begged Moses to continue lest they die. Then Moses started reeling out the judgements from Exodus chapters 21 to 23.

In chapter 24....see scriptures that showed what Moses did:

Exodus 24
3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.
4 And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient .
8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words .

Now do these scriptures sound familiar to you:
Colossians 2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross

Ephesians 2:15
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace

Are you looking for the ordinances contrary to us? Check the judgements (also called ordinances) in Exodus 21. Jesus had even started abolishing them while He was alive for He spoke in Matthew 5....eye for an eye and so on.
If you read the end of Exodus 23, you will see where God spoke about enemies from Exodus 23:22 and how the wall of enmity was already drawn right from then against the gentiles.
The handwriting of ordinances against us is that which Moses wrote and the people agreed to and Moses made a convenant with so it would stand against them as a judgement! The judgement in this sense is what happens to them when they disobey those ordinances. This is what Jesus took away nailing to the cross....The ordinances or judgement agaisnt them and please note that the 10 commandments was not part of this that was nailed.

Now the third chapter of Malachi, God spoke of tithes and offerings. Tithe was also given by Abraham prior to then. When Jesus came, He also commended both tithe and offering. Nowhere was this abolished, He even said it should not be left undone. Infact if you look at the laws Jesus spoke about, alot was relating to the ones His Father specifically gave and the ones regarding the mount of Horeb.
At Jesus death, He became our offering for sin/atonement so every offering that relate to sin and atonement (purifying) are no longer required because Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice.
Tithe & thank offerings or gifts were never to atone but in appreciation of what God has given them or yielded or gave to them. It is an appreciation of blessing to God and God still blesses again. So it if funny to tithe on a loan that was never yours or tithe on what you do not have to even give.
Paul himself gave alms and offerings in Acts 24:17 and referred to the tithes and offerings used in the ministry of the Levitical priesthood in I Corinthians 9.

He also raised an offering for poor saints in II Corinthians 9. Infact I noticed that people do not quote the whole chapter so I will just do that here:

II Corinthians 9:3-7
3 But I am sending these brothers to be sure you really are ready, as I have been telling them, and that your money is all collected. I don’t want to be wrong in my boasting about you. 4 We would be embarrassed—not to mention your own embarrassment—if some Macedonian believers came with me and found that you weren’t ready after all I had told them! 5 So I thought I should send these brothers ahead of me to make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift, not one given grudgingly.

6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” [/b]

Paul had already boasted of their giving and did not want to be embarrased....and he also first said they that sow sparingly will reap sparingly. I have noticed this scripture is widely avoided by many. It seems they feel compelled when they see it to give.
Paul understood sowing and reaping using seeds and crops and could relate it easily to giving this welfare offering. However, many still do not understand that while the givings in the OT were of crops, their blessings were also related to crops. It is so strange that they cannot still put two and two together. And this giving was not of compulsion but remember God too had a judgement for those who did not care even for the needy per Malachi.

When Paul was speaking about how the ministry of the old were cared for by the tithes and offerings, He knew it was agric produce before He said it was the same principle that the Lord commanded in the new. And He was not talking of the poor in that chapter even though they are still required to give to the poor. In Hebrews 7 what He just showed was the priesthood had NOW changed from the Levites to the priesthood of Jesus Christ after the order of Melchisedek and the law that made ONLY Levites priest has been annulled. (Exodus 40:15)

In all, everything good thing is to be done in Faith and with a willing mind. NOTHING IS COMPULSORY, even giving to the poor or parents but at the end of the day, God is not mocked for what we sow is what we will reap. There is nothing to fear in that.

I am sorry for the long post but I had to just summarise my stand.
Thank you and remain blessed.

...Another tithe thread...

Why is it that anti tithers are the ones opening thread upon thread trying to disseminate their ideology of no to tithes?

I ask again if tithes have been done away with what of offerings?

And for you to teach prosperity which is in d gospel, you wud have first taught about salvation. Properity in the Gospel of Christ is for the saved (you get prosperity from hearing by the word of God and applying his principles of receiving). And hey, we can't keep dwelling on one thing all the time...imagine if you go to church every time and all the preacher has to say is damnation for sinners and hell and sin, whereas their is things in God that shd be taught to move the gospel faster.

Hebrews 6
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Therefore let us go on and get past the elementary
stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the
Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works (dead formalism) and of the faith [by which you turned] to God,
2 With teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and eternal judgment and punishment. [These are all matters of which you should have been fully aware long, long ago.]
3 If indeed God permits, we will [now] proceed [to
advanced teaching].

We shouldn't be dwelling on tithing issues all d time, if you don't want to tithe, fine...if you want to fine. We should be discussing mysteries and secrets in the bible for edification of the spirit man.

A Fresh Purchase · Thursday, September 26th ·

Pastor Chris

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9:12).

The word "redemption" as used in our opening scripture is from the Greek, "lutrōsis," which means to ransom, deliver, save, or bring out of trouble. The Lord Jesus redeemed man from sin at the cross, and His blood became the currency with which He paid for the sins of the whole world. Then He was buried, and on the third day, God raised Him from the dead with a new life. Now, He gives eternal life to those who believe in Him.

Observe that the new creation is not the redeemed; he’s the fruit of Christ’s redemptive work on the Cross. Some people get confused when they study portions of the Scripture, where the new creation is described as "redeemed." For instance, in Revelations 5:9, the Bible says, "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation." The word, "redeemed" is wrongly translated here; it’s from the Greek, ‘agorazo,’ which means to go to the market and make a purchase; to buy something as a gift to give to someone. It’s not a buy-back, as is the case with "lutrōsis," but a fresh purchase. Christ purchased us with His blood, and gave us as gifts to God.

Several translations actually give a proper rendering of that verse. The New International Version says, "... with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." The Living Bible says, "…for you were slain, and your blood has bought people from every nation as gifts for God." You’re a gift, purchased for God by Jesus; He bought you with a price. This isn’t "lutrōsis"; this is "agorazo"; it’s a fresh purchase. Now, you belong to God. You’re not the person that was "delivered" from the devil when Jesus died on the cross; you’re a new creature, never delivered from the devil, but born superior to him by the second birth.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to die for me and shed His precious blood to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I’ve thus become a new creation, free to live righteously and serve you joyfully, enjoying your divine presence, and living in your power and glory, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

@OP Yes you must have a church you identify with, read ephesians 4 from verses 7 to 15...you have a pastor or teacher or whatever office Christ gave his church, and he did that for a purpose (gave you a pastor) for the equipping of the saints why? For the work of the ministry! So stick to a church, a good bible teaching church. Church changing does you no good at all

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth (Proverbs 6:2).

There is a spiritual language for the Christian. That’s why, as a child of God, you ought to put the Word on your lips, because the supernatural life is based on your tongue. Your tongue rules your life. The Apostle James likened the tongue to the rudder of a great ship, which the captain uses to direct the ship wherever he wants (James 3:4-5).

In Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus said "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Literally, this means a man will go to heaven or hell because of what he said or didn’t say, with his tongue! Read the Apostle Paul’s words about salvation in Romans 10:8-10: "… if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

"Your life is the character of your words. If a man’s words are confusing, his life will be confusing as well. In the same vein, if your words are wholesome, your life will be wholesome: perfect, excellent, and inspiring! Proverbs 15:4 says, "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life…." Jesus taught that what you say, is what you get (Mark 11:23).

Watch what you say, for your confessions control your future. Proverbs 12:18 says, "There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health." You can keep yourself in health, safety, prosperity, and victory with your words. Talk faith, success, and increase! 1 Peter 3:10 says "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile."

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for teaching me about the power of my words. Through your Word, and by your Spirit, I’m training my tongue to speak only faithfilled words! I speak only life-giving words that are consistent with your will for my life, and I declare that my future is secure, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

If you don't have a car during and after pregnancy, life would be very hard. I remember a lady in my class then, he had her first in 200l and last in our 400l...d babies gave her a lot of ish dat affected her...yes she had an extra year

She was gisting us
She has to wake in d morning bathe d one for sch prepare breakfast, and her hubby na banker, dey leave home early. Den she drive to drop d other at sch ( she actually said if not for the car, she would loose her sanity) then rush for Prof adewunmi's CS 404 by 8am, then d lil one in middle of class will now strt crying...she'd have to leave class maybe to feed or change nappy...no forget, lectures would carry on without her and at the end she didn't get d knowledge. Then she got a lil maid to hold d child, when d child cries, shd still have to go out and attend to d child (her baby can cry eh, no matter aw many litres of brest milk d mum breastfed her b4 entering d class. Then while coping with dat, any lecture by 12 is cancelled for her cos she has to drive n pick up d one in sch n come bck to sch with d child in d car or she would forget d rest class for that day. And so on

She married at age 25 and 29 when she was gisting us this... And she actually said if she knew, she'd have waited.

My advice iis finish sch first if a 29 year old couldn't handle it well I wonder wot a 23 year old would do.
