babyosisi,

Preach it sister!  God bless you!! cool

@michelin89, stop stereotyping.  Not good at all at all.
Nairaland / General / Re: Shahan, A Female? Wow! by goodguy(m): 10:37pm On Jan 26, 2007
My main point is that you guys should have at least given him that respect.  The internet should not be an avenue for us to insult people that are way older than us all in the name of argument/debate.
Gaming / Re: The Gamer Stereotype by goodguy(m): 10:31pm On Jan 26, 2007
So Pro Evolution 6 is out? I didn't know that.

I mainly play PE5 and WE108.

I also heard the Female soccer is out. Has anyone tried it out yet? How's it like?
Nairaland / General / Re: Shahan, A Female? Wow! by goodguy(m): 10:21pm On Jan 26, 2007
You people were so rude to Uncle Olabowale. I never liked it whenever I saw him being attacked by my "Christian" brethren. Even if you never agreed with him, you could still have considered the fact that he is way older than all of you; and you should have given him that respect.

It is a pity such a gentle man was called all sorts of names for voicing out his valuable opinions. He tried to be as civil as possible in his conversation, but unfortunately, my "Christian" brethren were ever ready to attack him, even when he was making sense. I'll never blame him for intermittently 'firing' back at the "Christians" though, because I believe he was often frustrated to do so.
Religion / Re: Please Where Is God? by goodguy(m): 9:59pm On Jan 26, 2007
I have thought over and over, and I still see no reason why you should refer to someone's mode of worship as insane.

Muslims can as well say it is insane for a Christian to go to Mountain/Hill tops to pray, you know? But does that make them right?

So my brother, YOU should think again.
Religion / Re: Please Where Is God? by goodguy(m): 7:54pm On Jan 26, 2007
Why do we always seek to attack Islam?

What is insane about facing the East?  God is everywhere, and where ever anyone faces to pray to him should not even be of concern to any mortal.  If I choose to bury my head in the ground to pray to God, that is between me and God alone, and is nobody's business.

And what's insane about washing parts of the body to pray to God?  What if God requires it of them specially?  Why do we Christians think that whatever we feel is absurd to us, must also be absurd to God?  Why do we think we totally understand God, even more than himself?

Please people, live and let live!

Religion / Re: What Then Happens To The Unbeliever? by goodguy(m): 7:47pm On Jan 25, 2007
Lol.  Just wait till the "learned Christians" among us start quoting John 14:6. cheesy

I think this is going to be an interesting one!

And for the record, I believe Christians and Muslims serve the same God, but only have different views about Him.  (I deliberately decided not to post on that thread so they won't chop my head off grin).  I really get sick of seeing we Christians monopolizing God everytime, and using John 14:6 to back up our stance.

And it keeps me wondering, so if John 14:6 is the final word on this issue, what happened to those that died before Christ?  Or has Grouppoint has pointed out, those who never got convinced, probably due to the ineffectiveness or dullness of the person passing the message?

Anyway, I believe God is there for everyone, but different people experience him differently!

So, oya my people!  . . What then happens to the unbelievers?

By the way, see a related topic: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven?
Gaming / Re: The Gamer Stereotype by goodguy(m): 7:26pm On Jan 25, 2007
Well, here's another Video games freak in here.

Unfortunately, I never had a Video game because my parents wouldn't buy me one.  They believed it wouldn't make me serious in my studies. angry   Maybe they were right, 'cuzz I get so addicted to games once I start playing them.  Even during exam periods, I still play games! lipsrsealed  But then, it never really affected me as they believed.  I could have been unserious, but I would still pass my exams.

Anyway, since I've been having access to the Internet (since 2001 till date), I have not been deprived of so much fun because I have downloaded and played lots of PC games.  I also play online games.  And since I do not own one myself, I play video games (I play soccer (Winning Eleven, Pro Evolution) everytime on PS2) with my friends whenever it's available, and we all thrash each other.  I'm still their master anyway, 'cuzz  I still have the highest scoring records, highest being 12 - 1; and these guys aren't bad either.  They are also pros in their own way.  cool

My PC was just formatted and loaded with Win XP unlimited 2 days ago, and this OS comes with some cool games.  The one I love the most is Frog 2, already getting addicted gradually.

As for cartoons, I've think outgrown them (not totally though).  I used to believe I could never stop watching cartoons, but surprisingly, I just don't have as much interest anymore.  I remember those days when I would wake up very early on Saturdays to watch those Cadbury cartoons, and those days when I would get back home from school and tune in to any stations currently showing any cartoons. grin  These days, I only watch certain categories of cartoons.  Cartoons like Superman, Batman, Zeta Project and alike are what I watch.  God knows I seriously detest those cartoons where the characters have big heads, long necks, short bodies, big eyes - atimes, 3 or 4 eyes, etc. grin

And oh, I forgot to say that my father also doesn't likes cartoons.  He calls them "Toy", and is always like "What do you gain from all these rubbish (toy) you keep watching".  And I'm always like - " tongue ", that is, na una sabi!  I don't say that to him though. grin  But the man loves card games.  He plays Solitaire and Spider Solitaire, everytime.

And as for the games again, is it really true it improves one's reflexes?  I have a really fast reflex.  I have never thought it had anything to do with my love for games.  I have always thought it was a special gift from God. grin

Anyway, I intend getting the PS3 when the price comes down to my pocket level.

babyosisi:

what did you do goodguy?

On the thread "Why I am no more a Christian", I said Seun was never a Christian, but a church-goer. That really pissed him off, and he permanently banned me from using the forum. That was the first time in my entire 51 days, 16 hours and 37 minutes on Nairaland that I ever got a permanent ban. I had to do a few tricks on the PC before I could even surf Nairaland as a guest! grin

@ Shahan, will mlks_baby send me a very nice gift too if I guess right?

mrpataki:

@ goodguy,
I had to plead your cause with the "able admin", funny enough your post, his own and my plead are nowhere to be found again!

Thank God you are back! But take caution oh!

Thanks for pleading on my behalf. wink I actually read his post and yours (as a guest). I had to plead privately before he could lift the permanent ban, and it was shortly after that he deleted my post, his post and your post.

@ Shahan, thanks for your concern. kiss That was the first time I've been banned in about 6 - 8 months now. There was actually a time I was banned almost every week. grin

Religion / Re: Pre-Marital Sex Is Not Fornication by goodguy(m): 12:32pm On Jan 20, 2007
@ Dipotepede,

What exactly is the point she raised that has not been nullified here?

@ trini_girl: Isn't it funny how you agree with the dictionary definitions of words like "LovePeddler" and "homosexuality", but strongly disagree with the definition of "fornication" offered by the same dictionary? Are you aware that the word "LovePeddler" has many derivatives borrowed into English, some of which are "cherish" and "charity"?

If PREmarital sex is not fornication, what is it then? I asked you this same question on page 1 of this thread, but you refused to answer. At least, we all know and agree that "POSTmarital" sex is Adultery.

Also, it is very important to know that the word "Fornication" as used in different areas in the Bible, has only ONE direct meaning
, which can then have "sub-meanings"; and that is, "Any sexual act outside monogamous marriage". Simple! This can then include premarital, incest, bestiality, homosexuality, and what have you. And of course, I do not rule out the fact that it is used figuratively to represent idolatry.

If you still have your doubts, perhaps, you should start by telling us your own definition of marriage.

One question though, do you agree with Grouppoint?

Religion / Re: Christians Only,please Pray For our nation,Nigeria. by goodguy(m): 2:50pm On Jan 19, 2007
@ davidylan, that was very well said.

@ babyosisi,

Heaven, they say, helps only those who help themselves. It is one thing for us to post our prayers on this thread, and other believers agree with us, it is another for God to even answer the prayers. How do you expect God to answer our prayers when those praying to him are not in unison with their fellow brethren, all in the name of religion. As I said earlier, until we begin to see ourselves as one, nothing will change in this country.

Moreso, posting our prayers on this thread will not solve anything, until we begin to face reality in this country. We have all been praying fervently for this country, coupled with long days of starving (fasting), yet nothing has changed. Until the fundamental problems are tackled (as right said by davidylan), Nigeria will forever remain the same.

God bless Nigeria.
