The problem here has nothing to do with hate or jealousy.

It has to do with new conspicuous spenders. We've always have rich people in Nigeria but never has Nigerian been the poverty capital of the world.

In those days when you see a beautiful house, you pray and work hard so that when you get OLDER, you would be able to afford those luxuries.

Today, even people of questionable means go on social media to spite the poor claiming they are thanking God in the porverty capital.

We used to call them Omo Aijoberi. That is, never seen anything good in their lives.

A man that thought he was doing well until he went to Banana Island is an example of how you create dissonance in the community. If he knew those doing better work twice as hard, he would want to work harder. But when you see money launderers, politicians, ritualists and drug peddlers spiting you, you want to do the same.

The richest man like Da Rocha knew how hard it was to make money, that was why people thought he was stingy.

We've lost our bearings and morality.

Bottom line. You can only impose fine if it is frivolous.

There was a dissenting opinion. Reasonable men can agree to disagree.

Iamgrey5:
You are absolutely right Sagay

Although they can't impose fine because the igbo judge saved his people from embarrassment by going against the final judgment. Hence, because the judgment was not unanimous, the judges cannot give a fine.

Death sentence is a terminal judgment.

Before you take a life, African culture gives the right of witnesses, even appeal in the ancient days.

Because you cannot bring back a life. The only place this barbaric ritual is carried out is in the Western world against blacks.

Africans from South to West have never been afraid to put even a king to death if he deserved it.

We are angry, hungry and going backwards.

He would rather wait until it is exported and re imported from Cotonou labelled made in France or China. Shey dollar raised was printed in Nigeria?

Some of these fowl mouths have never been to United States and those who have usually live around college campuses. Tell them to explore the black neighborhoods, they look at you as if you want them dead.

Yet, they listen to the music of gang bangger, school dropouts and drug peddlers in that same neighborhoods they refused to go, lamenting about how they were marginalize in their Country, only to use criminal gangs as shelters.

These Nigerians echoing nigga do not understand the rap in the songs but certainly hear nigga and think it is cool to use.

Well, that is what they do, copy copy as long as it is foreign, it is cool like Ajebuta.

OruExpress:
There's an irony with Nigerians.
Nigerians typically hate the poor (including poor Nigerians) and avoid being like them, but they don't know that the rappers they're seeing are 'the poor/razz' of America.

So when Rick Ross comes to Nigeria and wants to go to the slums, Nigerians who consume his music but aren't allowed to go outside during elections, get confused as to why a 'big boy' like Rick Ross wants to be around poor people.
Same with Cardi B and co. Every US rapper that comes to Nigeria confuses Nigerians by wanting to associate with slum dwellers. Nigerians that believe they're rich are actively engaged in US slum culture. At the same time, they also think they're an odd mix of genteel 1800th century effeminate british noble so while they go around saying 'nigga' and 'ya'll', they're will laugh at someone pronouncing paracetamol incorrectly.

I remember telling Nigerians, as an American, that the Nigerian artist they'll embrace the most in the US is Terry G. If he makes head way there. They couldn't comprehend. Forget this Burna Boy moment, it's a temporary mistake of people thinking his album was Kanye's and it's mainly (some) Nigerian Americans giving him a career here.
Politics › Please Stop Using Nigga by googi(op): 2:31pm On Feb 25, 2020
African Americans are trying to discourage the use of nasty words used by their slave masters in the past but privately used today against them.

Street gangs and rappers have picked it up and start using the same word as street language.

Yes, African Americans use it against one another but not among the educated class as in Nigeria.

The nasty word does not make you hype or American. It makes you look like a fool trying to copy street slangs.

I have never heard, seen or known of anything that generates so much obsession, hypertension, infatuation, anger, jealousy and headache for some Nigerians than Eko-Akete.

A piece of land, not even up to a plot surrounded by traditional Yoruba compounds that housed the children of the first king of Lagos, Ashipa, a traditional name and title in Yoruba land; has been expanded and extrapolated to all of Lagos.

Every name of different parts of Lagos have been given here about three times. Yet, those that do not understand their meaning are still asking obvious question.

They know who owns and named Lagos and Benin, they are just blinded by obsession and they will try different ways and methods to relate.

Sorry, Lagos is not for takers, not even for the British that tried and failed at their highest Court in Britain.

If you are looking for proof that ethnicities were political creation, come to Nigeria.

They forget that Regions and States were recent creations.

If Yoruba and Benin can disown one another, what do you expect from the rest of Nigerians?

Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba can be mixed together and you get variety of colors named ethnic groups.

Keep on fooling yourselves that British brought you together.
Travel › Re: What Are Your Regrets For Leaving Nigeria? by googi: 7:58pm On Feb 23, 2020
Let me start by saying Nigeria is the best place to live as a Nigerian but only if you have money to live within your means.

Most people in Nigeria at every level live and aspire to live above their means. This is why fetish crime have increased beyond our imagination.

Even people that made money illegally go on social media to flaunt it in the name of thanking God and "gifted". While others pray to God to pickup their calls.

Many people live abroad hearing gunshots night and day. Though not in as many area as Nigeria.

So you live abroad with enough money for three meals and more a day, nice car, nice home. In many cases far less people than you hear are fully employed. Most are under employed though highly educated.

Nevertheless, your job is under threat everyday, your life and that of your family are under threat for doing well out of jealousy or discrimination.

No matter how comfortable you say you are to those at home, do you tell them your blood pressure is high out of fear and threats?

Do you know that 62% of Americans have less than $1000.00 in their savings?

21% have no savings and most Americans live from paychheck to paycheck.

Some married women are generally easy women and men prey on easy targets... after spending 5 years in a marriage without anybody looking at their side or complimenting them and routinely having boring sex with only their husband.. the first man to make a pass at them , tourch them or handle them would generally ignite them sexually

If you are in doubt, try and keep staring at a married women in admiration or seductively and see if she would complain like single girls or she would smile and receive the attention

.
I think you are right but not all women.

Some of these guys also have a hard time getting women and they take the first opportunity of the easy preys as you say. Then there are women that give you a hint that they are married but not dead. Other married women hate the demands of single guys and feel safe with married men.

There is this guy that simply say - if you f my wife, I go f your daughter, sister or if all fail, your mother.

Whatever the case, there is an element of insecurity going after married women because they are easier to get.

: 13-Year-Old Student Commits Suicide By Drinking Sniper In Lagos by andyanders: 9:58pm On Feb 21
How can you suspend a child without calling the parents of the accussed and the accusser? You sent him home after he insisted that he never committed the offence he was accussed for. The school should be held liable for the death of the minor.

Sir, most parents believe teachers over their own children otherwise, schools will turn to Nigeria.

When a teacher abused his authority, the headmaster or principal should deal with him from suspension to firing.

ebby9z:
W.

The boy probably has very strict and emotionally unintelligent parents who would have flogged and punished him for days because of the allegation and the subsequent suspension.

Some Nigerian parents rush to believe outsiders over their own children and would horribly punish and verbally torment their kids for an accusation from an outsider because "he's a child, will an adult now be lying? I've experienced it before and I can never forget it till I die.
Politics › Re: US Opposes Nigeria's Plan To Hand Abacha Looted Funds To Governor Bagudu by googi: 3:11pm On Feb 21, 2020
United States has better memory than Nigeria.

Nigerians never see faults with their base. Now they are blaming Obama, former British PM and Obasanjo for forcing a bad deal that got looters off.

Those of us that still have some memories left remember how the Northern oligarchy almost crucified OBJ for "persecuting" Abacha children. OBJ had to go and explain that Abacha children are his children too but the money belongs to Nigeria.

He cut a deal, some of us thought was not good enough, than risk long court battle overseas and waste money on foreign lawyers. Abacha family did not care how much of the loot is lost fighting to keep their loot.

That some people are using this to justify the outrageous looting of Jonathan that failed to build another country for the People of Niger Delta abroad is bafflingly.

Jonathan, their son and a bona fide Biafran single handedly pave the way for Buhari. Now some are denying him as a Biafran when it is convenient so that they can get Presidency again. Surprise, surprise, surprised!

No, this is not Nigerian money. The money belongs to Niger Delta and should be used to restore the environmental disaster there back to farming and fishing for the poor that have lost their livelihood.

Not, not to bribe the militants that are no better than their fellow Nigerian looters.

First and foremost, let us be happy for these ladies from the same family. This is coming from someone who thinks coming to social media to celebrate is senseless.

We've been hearing this for a while that you have to be well connected to get into medical school and residency programs.

Let me extrapolate outside of Africa. Believe it or not, the same thing happens abroad. There are very brilliant minorities that cannot get into certain residency like Plastic and Neuro surgeries.

It gets worse if you're from Africa. You are led to family or Alaska or Indian or inner-city hospitals.

Point here, you cannot deny it in Nigeria of all places.

But I am impressed that they are from minority ethnic group. They have something to prove to doubters like us.
