Go back and read what I wrote. This time very slowly. DonX001: |
Hear this half illiterate running around the world with looted money. Money-Miss-Road, your time will come. Then you will know the meaning of money can't buy happiness. Right now, you're a drunken sailor. |
You guys may have a point but those of you that have left are not missed. I do not agree with everything I see here. My problem is how you criticized other sites to death. Only a fool would adjust to every demand and adjust accordingly knowing many of you are hypocrites looking for the demise of NAIRALAND out of rivalry, jealousy, competition while others are serious and sincere. While I may not agree with this particular topic, sex sells anywhere and any day even with New York Times or Washington Post if those are your role models. There are different sections on NAIRALAND and you can even create your own topics to hala your taste. What I fear more than your criticism is censorship to your taste. DonX001: |
sweetonugbu:Meaning na you tok am, na you hia am, na you write am. |
You can say that again and again. Those were the days! riches4me: |
Go anywhere in the world, our flight arrival, passports and mere presence draw red and negativity even within Africa. Indians and Pakistani are ruling Fortune 500 companies, sciences and reducing poverty in the countries like China. These are countries that used to send their poor to Nigeria to feed their people when we were feeding the rest of West Africa. Nigerians are beating their chests but nobody is dancing. |
For once I embraced fake news that an old man like Buhari is still "trafficating". Nothing brings an old alive like a lady that can still ride a "bike". Indeed, there are "rehab" centers specifically for that and many men that we're dead under were cured. Even their wives, children and friends would notice that Pa suddenly came alive! Very disappointed. |
It definitely makes sense that local automobiles must be patronized. It should also be noted that Innoson does not make parts in Nigeria. Actually, no car maker in the world makes all their car parts locally. So when we say local automobiles there are Innoson, Ade Ojo and another one from Kaduna I think. They all still importing parts for assembly. My only beef with them all are prices. They must lower their prices and beat imported automobiles. It is the only way to create genuine demand locally. Government demands we always call for are artificial demands at their preferred price. Western governors should go further and encourage local demands for what they need for security and other area. Good start for the initial cooperation hopefully more will follow. |
Look at her anger. De Bobo wet the girl dey try impress nor go marry am o. She mad say the proposal go spoil her chances. What is wrong with saying No or Try year after the next. |
So why do we wonder why Africans accept subjugation and embrace every name given to blacks as happily ours. These are lazy unproductive Africans testifying about their individual weakness for what is produced by others for consumption at the expense of their own human talents and natural resources. If you think that iPhone you hold so dear and base your evidence of inferiority complex on was discovered in 1500, it shows your ignorance of how disovery were built from rudimentary task of build, improvise and improve. Did you know that until 1600 and within there was nothing like white, black and brown? Do your own reseach lazy individuals and don't ask me for reference on Virginia law that divided workers, free people and slaves into economic classes for exploitation and to identify poor "whites" with the top one percent. And so neutralized increasing unity and revolts. Ask yourself when SUDAN, ETHIOPIA, ANCIENT ZIMBABWE and Egypt became white and white culture. Go research where the father of medicine, sciences, philosophy, Arts, Astronomy and Sculpture came from as written by Greeks themselves. Find out, LAZY youths, the consumers of everything that glitters even plastics and producers of nothing that expect their mothers and grand fathers to slave for them. Find out why Leo Frobenius thought he discovered the lost City of Greek Atlantis in Ile-Ife http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/06/21/kingdom.ife.sculptures/index.html |
Any Nigerian in any foreign country that is not aware that he is being watched for any violation of the law or regulation is a fool. Your skin color is enough. The fact that you are a Nigerian increases your visibility. |
My people are funny, no be small. This mentally deranged man that has many katakata scatterings his life, decided on Buhari to amplify his madness. In a country where the loss of valuable lives are condemned everyday, you think yours will move Buhari, joker? |
Who put this curse on us Oh Lord of Sango! To cover up our failures at home, the children of many Firsts at Home are celebrating refugees outside their Region. Small time nah, they will be blaming lack of enabling environment. Why don't you ask these refugees and untouchables how they excel against all odds in an environment more hostile than home? |
Until we realize how Oil income killed us and raised our SELFISHNESS to unprecedented level, why Nkrumah Cocoa Embargo failed and why Ednut got a loan for 3% outside against 22% at home, you will not know why Nigerians will remain chest beaters with foreign currencies made of toilet papers in exchange for everything you've got and more. |
Well said about Nigerians doing well outside. But when are we going to do well in our own villages, towns and country despite the lack of enabling environment? Our billionaires made money in Nigeria and go to virgin land and jungles in East and West Africa, start their own enabling environment to built factories and plants to produce goods and services at less profit than they make in Nigeria. They even import the products into Nigeria at higher profit. Enabling environment, eh? The environment Nigerian achievers find themselves in, outside is worse than the one they claim at home. Yet, against all odds, they Excel. Up to the early 70s, there was a region in this Country that achieved without oil income. Go figure. |
Look within very well, if all Africans leave your country, your problems will not go away. You forgot how whites use to manipulate Chief Buthelezi Zulu to spy on and slaughter you. You problems did not start yesterday. MPSA: |
Why is it so difficult to tell one another the real truth, no matter how bitter? There is a difference between riches and wealth. Nigeria is the case in point. You spoiled, bastardized and called your country all kinds of expletives. Now you wan run make you go spoil another man conktary. Op, your mama and papa born you well. |
I hope you do not take it adversely. I just thought you were hilarious. There are many Greek and Chinese words I cannot find anywhere too. You may possess some talent you do not realize. linearity: |
Laff wan kill me, were! linearity: |
OlawaleBammie:Yoruba as a subject in ONE? You mean many USA univerties. Even Igbo and Hausa are attracting some foreign students at the univerties. These days most professional schools require another language, so Spanish is the popular choice in USA and French in Canada. I am not too sure about Europe. |
It's hard to believe that CHEI, SEEGE, ABOKI, NNA and many others were not included. Their pronouciation may be different or used differently by the local speakers. Once these words were Lagos-lized, it is hard to give them back to local speakers regardless of how many times some us were corrected. |
Very interesting topic. sofiscatedmoron:You may be wrong here. I was surprised that Lagos Yoruba is taught as a separate subject from proper Yoruba in Ivy league schools. But then, I remembered that we burst out laughing when one of our friends wrote us back at home that he had a part-time job at his University teaching Yoruba in America. Now broken English is taught as a subject also. So these slangs are identified as Nigerian. |
Made a good point. He is being cautious to his supporters but disrespectful to Nigeria. I am sure he knows what to expect from Buhari. It is a confirmation that those thugs have implicit support to attack other Africans in order to divert attention from their miserable failure since they got Power. Tobinrobin: |
Whatever your opinion, do you really have to use those gutter language or those words just make you an American. We have enough or even more caustic language but they sound uncultured when we have to import them. Freemanbobble: |
Most countries cannot function without taxes. The problem here is that illegal taxes go into the wrong hands like police, agbero and "omo onile". Obi had a showdown with them in Anambra when transport owners and workers told him to leave local taxes to them and consentrate on Federal taxes. For whia? Mind you, Nigerians cry and boast about paying all the taxes for development, when in fact they pay some into wrong hands and not much to the government until they want housing, shop or other benefits allocated to them. The Government may need to make taxes billionaires pay public. |
IamaNigerianGuy:I expect some reactions from you but check out the meaning of ignorance and tell us what you were doing when Ebola struck. I guess you deserve the world respect and accolades Nigeria got. Keep on exposing your greed and false sense of accomplishment while engineering graduates languish and remain untapped. I wish I was an engineer since they remain humble and unassuming. Are you telling me Primary Health Care was a failure in the North? Do you know who and how it was implemented throughout Nigeria or you were not born then? Go read up on it and Prof. Olikoye Kuti. We thought we finally got it right. Once more find out the meaning of ignorance, you may see yourself in the mirror. |
Can anyone here point to one professional or worker that thinks she is well paid in this country, except of course the politicians? Accept the fact that we are money mongers that think money can solve all our problems. The shortage of doctors has nothing to do with salary but more to do with training. How many countries in the world train doctors for other countries, with their curriculum and needs? If you know one, please tell us. If you train your doctors according to other countries needs and curriculum, that is where they will end up. We need to find out how China, India, Cuba, Russia and many others meet their medical needs more than us. Health issues are not just about doctors and salaries. No amount can satisfy any Nigerian worker. We have no pride in what we do but in what we earn. What about those doctors that left humongous salary abroad to earn peanuts at home (African and foreign doctors)? Do you guys realize that teachers were the most respectable people in Nigeria while most professionals made more money than them? History, history, history, abi o. It got worse during Structural Adjustment and massive oil income. Yet, we have not learned that massive riches does not make you wealthy. Call a Nigerian best trained doctor (not the daughter or son of Babalawo) and ask him about parasitic or infectious disease still hiding in the villages. He will be proud to tell you he or she did not learn that in medical school. But ask him about tertiary diseases famous in Europe and America, my Bobo will be beaming with smiles, dislocating them like a professor. Look, put more money and training in Health Officers (Physician Assistants, they cannot run anywhere) from the schools of medical technology and watch for Primary Health Care boom like Cuba, China and Russia. Abi Chinese and Cuban doctors do not get Nobel Prize in Medicine? |
Wow! I could have thought Igbo are from Israel. Pardon me, my mistake. |
Sowore has a long and solid reputation since school days of fighting against injustice as an activist. They have no choice but to release him sooner or later. This one must not be poisoned in prison. They are just turning him into a hero even for sceptics. |
Femeto:With all respect, when a father drool over his own daughter on Howard Stein Show in public, it is no longer father and daughter business. Even if she is old enough. |
